Review Yaza! Cafe - Nelson

Such lovely food here, how it was served was not at all how I imagined it but it certainly gave it more flavour than I'd imagined! It was tasty, the textures ticked all levels 😍 although ot took some time for the to come out. I'd have 5 stars otherwise. I'm not sure what the reason was for this, no body mentioned any.

I suffer from severe anxiety. I served by a lovely woman and I ordered a hot chocolate and pancakes. I had said to her that I preferred quiet places because of my anxiety, and she pointed out a spot in a corner. I'm happy that she took my issues into mind and allowed me to have a quiet space to myself. The drink and food was wonderful. Hot chocolate was the perfect temperature and the pancakes were fluffy and sweet, a bit too much whipped cream, but I'm not complaining. Adding fruit to the dish topped it off wonderfully. I will definitely be returning.

Good food. Pity that the customer before me bought the last cheese scone...hope I can try it in the future.

Best cheese scones in town, as is well known. Also does EXCELLENT hollandaise, second best in town but definitely the best price. Licensed, local, open on a Monday (rare as hens teeth in Nelson!). Recommended.

We love Yaza! A perfect spot for coffee, and a scone anytime but especially during Saturday market. What a bonus they take care of my husband while I go to the market. Brilliant! Looking forward to a brunch there next week as the menu and cabinet items look fabulous!

A must visit when in Nelson CBD. The best cheese scones in town. Great cafe with amazing range of cabinet food and off the menu. Amazing coffee too!

My smoothie was out of this world. On top of that, the staff were very, very pleasant, the prices quite reasonable and the service was great. My friend had a cheese cone and an iced late, and she also enjoyed them greatly. I highly recommend this place.

I strongly recommend this coffee place. Amazing coffee, and the kids hot chocolate is super special.

Food was delicious and so was the coffee. Neat touch with the quotes hidden in the napkins. Great place if you're not hangry as food was very slow to come out.

Just discovered this cool spot right in downtown Nelson. Staff were great answering all my new to the country questions. I ate there twice in one day. For breakfast I had the eggs Benedict sandwich on fresh baked focaccia bread. For lunch I had a veggie frittata with interesting dipping sauces. Oh yeah, can't forget about the cheese scone! 😁 All in all excellent quality food. πŸ’― Thanks guys!

The cheese scones 🀀 Sooooo good! Soft, cheesy and a hint of cayenne pepper that lingers long enough afterwards to remind you of the good times... But not too much to ruin the flavour. Lovely staff, great service. Definitely worth the stop πŸ‘

Went here for brunch yesterday, I ordered the gardeners big breakfast and it was delicious! We went at quite a busy time and the wait for food was 1 hour but it was well worth it. The staff were lovely and the prices are very good for the amount of food you get!! We also ordered a side of chips and they were seasoned nicely - the aioli was amazing! Definitely recommend 😁

Four of us went for a quick brekky before heading out of the city but as it was the time between Christmas and New Year, the place was not quite prepared for the number of people they received. We waited 25 minutes for coffees, one of our meals was completely forgtten (this was a kitchen error rather than a server error - the woman serving me wrote all our orders down clearly), and the scrambled eggs that arrived with another order were overdone and rubbery. I was under the impression that, while the people working there were kind, they were inexperienced and they probably could have done with having a manager on duty.

Reasonable prices and reasonable coffee.... some really nice things on the menu for vegetarians, the vego "sausage" roll is a wonderful hearty meal.<br/>Also the fresh fruit/vege juice are wonderful.

Had the yummiest and biggest breakfast ever today. Kept going back through the day to try more of their awesome food. Would like to stay longer and try everything on the menu. Really well priced too. Perfect place to hang and chill-out. great service and most importantly, coffee. Will definitely be coming here every time I'm up from Chch. love this place.

The best I can say is that the owner must have been away on the day we visited, and surely it is much better when he/she is there? Plenty of tables, but all dirty and with uncleared plates on them so we had to clear a table for ourselves. We had to wait at the till for some time before anyone served us (although the girl on coffee did assure us "she won't be long"). Despite the cafe not being busy, we then had to wait 25 minutes for our food to arrive, when we had ordered a quesadilla from the cabinet, and chowder - nothing complicated. After all that wait, the quesadilla was barely luke-warm, so as it contained chicken, we asked for it to be heated properly. Not only was it heated as was, the garnish, salsa and sour cream were heated with it, making it soggy and unpleasant. We were only in Nelson for the day this time, and were looking forward to our time out and sampling the city's food. What a disappointment.
