This is honestly one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. Not only did they fit us in for a last minute reservation, they catered to our fussy restrictions too. We were served by Ara and a nice male waiter, who each provided knowledgeable, polite, and efficient service. When we informed them of my lactose intolerance, the chefs were able to create an off-menu totally dairy free dessert for us. (Pictured) The food itself was incredible, flavourful yet balanced, expertly crafted and presented. Excellent value. The cocktails too, were delicious and beautifully presented. I would go on for 10 more paragraphs if I could but no one wants to read all of that. 6/5 stars
We went to Arden for lunch and we absolutely loved every dish. The food was amazing and the atmosphere too. Arden was definitely one of the best restaurants we have been during our holidays in New Zealand. We hope we can come back some day.
I was on a work trip and popped in for a quick wine. 6 more wines and 3 courses later I was astonished to experience such a world-class fine dining experience. Such friendly and knowledgeable staff and awesome atmosphere. Will be back again soon.
A dark and intimate little nook that would be easily overlooked if you weren't trying to find it. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, abs the food was amazing!

Lovely wine bar, with a great ever changing selection of New Zealand wines. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The small plates were delicious. We sat inside and enjoyed the ambiance. They also have a beautiful patio in the back.
An interesting place to eat. Select what you want to eat and each plate comes out tapas style and size as it is cooked. The service was exceptional.. friendly and attentive. Good wine list to choose from. Lovely sheltered courtyard out the back. My only gripe was the grilled broccoli and miso sauce dish which was far too salty for me. The pork belly, gnocchi, green vegetables were stunning. Its a very busy place which is testament to the quality of the food. Its not cheap but excellence never is

Great food through every course. Maybe too much bread or we could have just fluked the starters that had bread, brioche and crackers. The owners run the place and they know what they are doing. Thanks for looking after us and making our trip to Nelson special
We hosted a family reception of 50+ at Arden and they were exceptional. Lisa was incredibly communicative & flexible with us ahead of the event. And the space, service + food & drink on the day of were exceptional! Thank you to the whole team at Arden!
Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of Arden. Friendly greeting check, look of restaurant check, walk through to courtyard...wait a minute...huge check ;) Ambience, decor, efficiency, cocktail list and menu more huge checks, food and drinks excellent in all respects. Kudos to Arden, Nelson's very own laneway restaurant to be reckoned with
