Review Goode Brothers New Lynn - New Lynn

Sara Baldwin
Lovely, relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. If a quiet background buzz is your vibe then it's perfect. We had a family platter and sides - lovely food and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and food choices make it a place that would suit any group and age range. We will be going back!

Have been here twice recently and is fast becoming a fav. The food is really good. The menu is slightly limited but definitely appreciate the $20 set items ( 3 different dishes to choose from) Make a mean Long Island Iced Tea. Small touched like the throws for the outdoor evening in the area is a nice touch. Service is lovely too.

We came here for our 15th wedding anniversary. I love everything here, nice food, lovely interiors and the five star staff, Sefa who was serving us with smile. We will definitely come. Thank you!
Mariel Tanchuling
Ordered the good old wagyu beef burger and it was DIVINE. I’m only giving 4 stars because the tap beers/alcohol didn’t have their prices on the menu but the other drinks had.. Only later found out that what I ordered from the tap was just as expensive as my food 🥲 leaving a photo of the menu for those who wanna review the most current prices (as of 8 Oct 2023) 🫰🏽

My friend and I had the best experience at Goode Brothers today! Fantastic pizza (gluten free is amazing btw), delicious cocktails and our waitress Awatea was so lovely and smiley! Thank you for being patient with me while deciding what pizza I wanted😅 Will definitely be a regular place we come to!
Michael Morris
Fantastic dinner experience with the family and some of the best service ever received at a restaurant. Massive shout out to Ellie, who looked after us superbly all night and was friendly, helpful and anticipated everything perfectly. Want to mention Jacob as well. He was brilliant with food delivery and at our send off. Can't forget about the food and drinks. Everything looked and tasted awesome and was reasonably priced considering the cost of things these days. Highly recommend and will be back. Fantastic job by everybody involved! 5 stars!!

We went as a large group on an unplanned visit. Staff quickly put some tables together for us. Food was nice and kids enjoyed the fish and chips from the children's menu.

Really good top notch service, friendly, quick, efficient, top quality tasty and great looking food, nice atmosphere, good for families or a group/work dinner. Highly recommended! Will definitely be back, also helps that they are part of JoyLab for loyalty points, very generous at 10% of what you spend!

Went for a Graduation Luncheon & it was great! Plenty of room for large parties (like ours) with lots of parking as the restaurant is part of Lynmall Shopping Centre. Great variety of food from Fish n Chips, Burgers & Pizza to Fettuccine & Eye Fillet Steak! Definitely booking our next family gathering here!! 🥳💖

Had a fun night out with the girls last week, highly enjoyed the service and the atmosphere of it all. Our waitress, Jade was super attentive and enthusiastic. She made our night the very best from being polite and cracking a few jokes. Great hostess. Apart from the pizza's being a little underdone the night was fantastic and the service sold me. Would come back.

Arrived during a crazy lunch rush where the whole restaurant was packed and there were only three servers - Claire, Kennedy and Bronte. They warned food might take longer but it barely did, and they were all still so nice despite the stress! I've been here before but this positive experience was enough to leave a review. The food was great as always!

Goode brothers lynnmall be prepared to get another local. Fantastic ambience and atmosphere. Lots of space and great for groups.<br/>Came here with a large group and the staff today were excellent. Fantastic service with great patience in taking our orders and even changing it when requested. <br/>Ordered the lamb pizza, spaghetti, fish n chips, chicken burger, 2 beef burgers and steak. Just one little change would be adding a bit more sauce in the beef burgers. Especially a sauce that's not the same as the one provided with the fries. As that would really go well with the amazing beef provided. Just felt the sauce that was provided just didnt got well. Goode brothers are definitely doing a great job in keeping up the standard in brickworks with their neighbours.

Amazing food! Shout out to Kenz for the awesome, friendly service and amazing cocktails!

Service was really good especially from our waiter kenz!!

We hosted our daughters birthday party here. It was a pizza party. Kids had an amazing time. Their waitress Bronte who helped them create their pizzas was fantastic. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food as always is amazing 😍 An even better experience being served by Ava and going the extra mile to add more sauce to my #6. Service with a smile 😊 thanks Ava 👍

I noticed that Louie and jade worked very well together, I was quite impressed

The kiwi pizza was delicious and Beth’s service was the most spectacular thing about this eatery. She was absolutely hilarious and complimented the food well. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Jose Mario Manaloto
Hannah our waitress was absolutely amazing! Took well care of us throughout the night.

Helena Clements
Food was amazing and the service was quick and the staff were friendly. The margarita pizza was one of the best I’ve had. Will be back to try other flavours!
Laura Richardson
Really nice place for dinner. The food is very nice and great for vegetarians. Good food: garlic pizza bread, pumpkin risotto m, arancini balls and lots of sides are yummy. Their desserts are also very yummy!!
Lily
Food and service have always been amazing here. Last time we came, we had a lovely server, who we didn't get the name of but the young boy with a few tattoos and ear piercings looks about 20?... He came over and made sure everything was okay and was genuinely happy with his job and all staff members seemed to have a good relationship with each other and always smiling. Was a nice vibe as a night out. The chicken and chorizo pasta is to die for! Really good portions for prices. Didn't get to try desserts but was really good food and clean. I would be back again for sure real soon. Keep up the good work guys!!!
Tom Lê
Service was superstar! Had the bacon pasta, a bit salty but nice. Love the meatball and the broccolini too. 9/10 overall. Will be back for Italia food.
Chrissy Misa
Really really enjoyed my Goode Brothers experience! Our server was lovely and on point. The food was top quality and the space and location was cool!
Keri Boggs
Firstly we went there on a Thursday and I had Scotch Fillet 5/5 it was fantastic, service great.  Soooo we thought go back on Tuesday and we saw they had Tuesday special of $14 Pizza or Pasta.  Sorry guys the meat lovers pizza was shocking, perhaps 6 peices of salami and a sparce scattering of what tasted like leftover roast pork.  The seafood pasta was also sparce, I pretty much guess you get what you pay for.
Hannahmareecarr2
One of my favourite places for dinner, which has a large variety of food. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. It has been a really easy place to make bookings for larger groups and have never had any issues with the service. Also worth going on a Monday or Tuesday when they have their $14 pizza and pasta, such a good deal!
Evie Luna
Omg! Hands down best service lastnight, first of all, To Robbie you’re amazing, love your personality and your happy Ora and just so welcoming, we asked him after our yummy dinner as it was nearly closing time if by any chance we could get some hot chocolates to help down our food, it was obviously closed, the bar staff was already cleaning down the station but he still insisted to check for us, came back and apologised that the machine already been cleaned and turned off, Kate our waiter so lovely! She was so nice to me and my sister! Got our left over food packed in a takeaway box. After paying our bill with Robbie also asked for cash out I had to tip them, their service was amazing! Great dinner with my sister! Robbie your my fav! Thanks again Robbie and Kate! Last minute plans are always the best 😃
Sakshi Wadhwa
Very authentic Italian pizzas, loved the simple flavors. The staff is nice and friendly staff. Would love to try the risotto next and attend the pizza making class.
Maya Anne
Eli was super friendly and had great service. He was prompt and cheery and very informative (he helped us to figure out our cocktails). It's always nice to be able to have a laugh with cool staff!!
Chan Can Eat
New Lynn was desperate for establishments like this. And yeah, it ticks the box.<br/>It has good food, good atmosphere and is all round good.<br/>I’ve never had a bad experience here, their wait staff are always friendly, the place always has a good vibe.... the only reason it doesn’t get a 5 from me is due to lack of pizzazz.... it’s pizzas are great! Just no pizzazz<br/>Great for the whole family from kiddies to grandparents<br/>I recommend their sharing platters and pizzas for a large group
Avery Jones
Great service and polite and friendly staff! I ordered the seafood platter and my partner ordered the Caprese pasta. The food arrived quickly and was very delicious. The only negative I would add is that the seafood platter had aspects that were slightly too oily for my liking (the fish and <br/>Goujons) but overall a lovely atmosphere, delicious food good for the price point and on point service
Jmo
Great venue, friendly staff and delicious food. I ordered the pumpkin risotto with chicken (I had two small slices of chicken, it could have done with another piece of chicken tbh and it would have been perfect!). You have to order their chips! They are scrumptious! Everybody at our table ordered different meals and they looked amazing. I would recommend this place to others.
Rita
I’ve been here during the day & it’s a decent place with decent meals however I booked this dinner for a group of 15 & the service & food was astounding! The wait time wasn’t long considering how busy it was with how much food we ordered & the food itself was mouthwatering. Would definitely recommend this place for big group gatherings!
Brandon Li
Great food, much better than the one at Botany. Love the steak, very tender, always cooked to perfection, risotto is excellent too. Always my favorite dinner place before or after the movie.
Courtney Maloyd
Wow! Could not fault a thing! (and I don't say that very often at all!) Our waiter Robbie was so lovely and the food was to die for! We had the confit duck with fettucini, arancini balls, stuffed mushrooms and chocolate torte - all to share. Great selection of Italian wines to accompany the meal too. We will most definitely be returning thank you!!
Shubika Khanna
Really great family and child friendly service. The portion sizes, even from the kids menu were really generous. We had made a reservation for 15 people, when making the reservation I was told that there was another booking for 30 people at the same time and to be mindful of it when ordering as there could be a delay. I really appreciated this honest communication. When we got there our food was prompt, the orders were spot on( we had special dietary requirements) and the staff were absolutely obliging. This is a wonderful place. Oh yeah and the Duck Confit pasta......AMAZING!!
Yana Petrenko
Came here for our mother’s day lunch as we were in the area and was the only place we could find on short notice, even though we didn’t book and the restaurant was fully booked the staff found us a table for 5 within 15 minutes which is quite good in my eyes considering it was the busiest day of the year. The service was so good our waiter was so sweet and made sure to get our order right and kept coming and checking up on us making sure we enjoyed our meals. We only had to wait for about 10-15 minutes which is great for a busy day here. My meal was quite nice, my dad highly enjoyed his pizza and my younger siblings really enjoyed their fries and spaghetti bolognese, my mum also was really happy with her meal which i cant quite remember what that was. So happy with everything here, would def come back if i’m in the area. :) Fav place for mock tails as well
Shinal Shivanghni
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a nice peaceful and relaxing environment set up. The staff were kind enough to come up with a smile multiple times when called. The food didn’t take much time to arrive and the quality of the food was 😍 five star
Victoria Seumanutafa
Been here a couple of times and it has been a good experience. Went there recently on my birthday week and my partner got the same steak he usually gets with mushroom sauce, ended up with the sauce being way over salted (apparently he said that was not the first but second time that has happened) and our 5 cheese pizza burnt on the outside with not much cheese on there 😑 such a disappointment being our experience there on previous occasions were good but not anymore, looks like we won’t be going there any time soon.

Been here a few months ago with a couple of friends and ordered our entrée & drinks.<br/>Around half an hour later the waiter comes & asks us if we were ready to order our "mains", we said sure. So we did,... Then waited for around an hour and realised it was 10 minutes to closing time so we asked what had happened, and why the mains were taking so long. He said he completely "forgot" to take our ticket to the chef & humbly apologized and said we could order as many drinks as we liked till close out. (In those 10 minutes).<br/>We understood at the end of the day it was an honest mistake. But just thought I'd mention it...<br/><br/>The entrées were lovely ✔️<br/>The menu I can see has changed from a few months ago.<br/>Used to absolutely love the chicken risotto (that they don't have anymore) & fried chicken w/buttermilk from here.<br/><br/>Ambience is lovely & there's plenty of parking spaces bring a part of #Brickworks.<br/><br/>Ambience : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Staff : To be reviewed<br/>Food : ⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Price : ⭐⭐⭐

Never get disappointed on my every visit. My favorite are their scotch fillet with creamy mushroon sauce and the number 6 pasta. Very recommended.
Chris Ramage
My group was big and I expected to be waiting for ages for the food. Not so. Our waitress was Eden and she did a marvelous job. She interacted with us all really well coming back after the main course was served to make sure we were all happy with what we had and if there was anything that needed changing. She did SO well. Good on you Eden! The food was brought to us all within a good time of being ordered And it was exactly what individuals ordered even if they wanted a slight variation  from the menu. The food itself was REALLY good, plenty of it, very well presented. I will be coming back here that's for sure. Thanks for a great night Eden.
Anna Botica
Went for dinner with family the staff was super friendly and attentive with a great selection of food really enjoyed the chicken burger. The price was also reasonable too so will be coming here again
Rohit Batra
We went for a weekday lunch and had pizza and chips. Food was tasty and the service was too good. Oh we also had $20 beer specials and I think even pizza and pasta were on specials. But food and service was all worth it. I will definitely come back and thanks for this awsome service. Cheers..
Laisa N Julessa
Service is always great here, they have a great range of food and I always like the seafood chowder. Prices are always reasonable and they always have different specials and deals on. Great family restaurant
Sam
Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Rare to find a place in Auckland where the staff seem to love their jobs and care for their customers. Eaten here twice a week since I moved into the area and I don't think that will slow down anytime soon. The food is absolutely amazing. I Also highly recommend the pasta school. So much value for $90 per couple. Will definitely come back for the pizza school. Oh and they also do cheap pizza/pasta on Mondays and tuesdays so definitely come on those days if you think the food is a bit out of your budget. Special thanks to the guy who seems to run the show in the afternoon. I forgot his name but he always comes out to ask us if everything's okay and tell us goodbye when we leave. Definitely one of my favourite Auckland eats. Good job Goode Brothers
Lily Chu
I really like the salads and drinks here but a bit pricey. I like the atmosphere inside the restaurant. Really good for small family meet ups.
Ellie Going
Had a super lovely dinner at the Goode Brothers. The staff were amazing and our waiter Aang was super helpful (with me being coeliac) and provided great service. Food was amazing! Would highly recommend!!!
Natasha R
Great time at Goode brothers last night, lovely meals and exceptional service. Will definitely return. Salt and pepper squid was sooo good. Steak was beautiful too.
Jamie Seu
Foods great! Had a cool as waitress named Nancy, she was funny and always checked up on us. Good food, good time, amazing! Thanks a lot Goode Brothers.
AB'S 991
Nice ambience top notch food. Horrible service and really unattentive staff very busy doing there own thing on every occasion iv been here plus the staffs not aware of what glass they use for what beer (which makes the place look expensive which it really isn't, feels so cause your being charged the wrong price). Even almost got sprayed wet by a bartender several times as he was trying to cool a beer glass but he didn't really care about it. Surprising very surprising didnt expect it to be a experience as such.
Jgurl
Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Went with a friend to dine in, the vibe was great. Ordered the #6, salt and pepper squid, beef bolognese and pesto chicken pizza.
Neha Marie Dawson
I couldn’t possibly be more in love with the food here, if you love pizza and spicy food like me then you gotta go for the chilli chilli pizza, it’s heaven, the staff is so friendly and the ambiance is perfect for a group lunch or dinner. Perfecto
Jb Buen
Went here on a Saturday night with friends, unfortunately didn't enjoy the food. The Hawaiian pizza was so average, to be honest Domino's pizza is better. I asked the waiter if the Chili Chili pizza is really hot, he said to be honest there are days that it is really hot and there are days that it is not, i can already tell it is inconsistent. I asked what is the best pasta, we were told definitely the seafood one, so we ordered it. OMG no flavors! It was dry and i have to put to much salt to add flavors. I'd rather have a 2 minute noodles than this. The craft beers were good but pricey. I really want to love this place but it didn't happen. Ice cream sundae was good though, portion was too big for me so was not able to finish it. Im not sure if I'll be back.
Niamh
Food was good(e) and service was speedy. Nancy was really friendly and accommodating and we had a very pleasant dining experience. Will be back in the future :)
Brent Whitcombe
Nancy was such a great waitress. We had a large table and she attended to everyone with politeness and good humour and was always checking everything was ok.<br/>Thanks Nancy for helping to make it a great occasion for my wife's birthday. Receipt# 152027
Shannel Milne
Food was delish and loved the strawberry cucumber cocktail! Ava our waitress also made my night awesome! Love your work guys, thanks for the 5 star night 🤩 Will be back very soon!
Tui Tait
Went last night for family birthday. Had all the grandchildren with us. Staff took good care of us and the kids. One staff member Nancy always checked we were ok and had what we needed.<br/>We have eaten here quite a few times as a large group (as we always take the family with us) and find the service is pretty good considering the demands of a large group.<br/>There is enough choice and food for kids and adults, and the atmosphere is always pleasant.<br/>The table next door sung happy birthday as well haha!! Thanks
Sam Diprose
Came here for my anniversary dinner and was not dissapointed, friendly staff and lovely environment on arrival and the food was delicious. I ordered a vegetarian pizza and had enough to take home for leftovers. Brilliant
Lilian Deng
Went to explore Lynnmall & spotted this simple but pretty cafe. Was about 2pm when we walked in & the young lady who served us was polite & attentive. We ordered a seafood spaghetti & a prawn salad. The portion was generous & the seafood was fresh. They were cooked just right. Simply delicious. We will definitely be back for more!
Dyan
The service crew was really attentive and polite. The food was delicious and portion size was just nice. Love the ambience and will definitely come back to visit this place again.
Jenni Smith
In the past, we have enjoyed the food and service at Goode brothers. However, today when we called in for a snack and a drink we were subjected to MMA fighting. If I knew what this was I would have left immediately but instead stayed to find myself watching two grown men biting each other to pieces over my pizza bread! That's when we left. If they want to be a restaurant that encourages violence to this level then they need to warn their customers before they are subjected to this!
Daryl Calderon
Nice food !! Their meatballs and four cheese pizza was made with quality. They did so well becoming a ninja with me trying to surprise my friend with a cake :)
Velia Zaiiden
Haven't been back in awhile but definitely need to make a stop back here ! Came with my girl mate and loved everything especially the person that was our server that night ! That was Bailey he was so helpful and polite 😊 . Staff like bailey is the reason why you wanna return 😊 oh and the delicious meals the chef prepare.
Marion Millar
Wonderful waiter (well done Joel), great food and atmosphere. Will be returning for another meal in the very near future. Also Monday and Tuesday specials are GREAT value!
Phil Morton
We go regularly to Goode Brothers New Lynn and have never felt disappointed with the food or service. Last night there was a new summer menu.  I had the chilli-chilli  which not only featured pepperoni and fresh chilli but also the fiery Italian sausage meat called nduja.  Wonderful.<br/>Our waiter Joel was helpful and friendly.  Next time he's going to arrange double nduja for us.
Kai Mai
Nothing to write home about the meal it was overall average and a lot pricier ($21.50) than other joints but nothing else on their breakfast menu was appealing either way. Was a quiet Monday morning and the dude who served us was good. Food came out in a timely manner. Would possibly go back to check out their lunch options but wouldn't recommend the breakfast menu.
Nikita Kumar
Went here on a Sunday night, the place had a few other diners and the atmosphere was nice. Came to ordering our meals and that’s when it all went downhill. We sat around waiting to order for about 25-30mins and attempted to signal the waiting staff multiple times. Once the waiting staff started taking our order.. almost everything on the menu was apparently “finished”. No steak, no chicken breast, we were told our options were limited to a handful of pizzas (and even some needed to have limited toppings) because “a large dining booking was coming in and food needed to be saved for them”... umm do your other diners not matter?? (We were there for approx 2hrs and no “large booking” group came in). Food arrived after 30mins - 2 pizzas, fries and 2 drinks. Food was okay - minimal flavours and fries were very cold we didn’t even attempt to finish them, was let down by the service most of all. Went to the counter to pay and was charged a hefty bill of $100+ which didn’t sound right for the amount of food we ordered. Asked for a receipt after paying and saw we had been charged someone else’s bill and the person on the counter couldn’t seem to understand he had charged us wrong and said our bill was the same amount so “we’re even”. After ANOTHER 20mins of waiting around we calculated our bill ourselves using the menus to show the staff member how much our bill should have been and how much he had overcharged us (roughly $25 more). We were given a voucher for the bad service but honestly I would never pay to come back to a place that somehow has no food, average service, and average, cold food. The overall experience has really changed my attitude about this place and I would not recommend it to friends and family.
Emma Inglis
Awesome range of cocktails, we went there for a few drinks and snacks on a Saturday friendly staff and yummy garlic bread pizza. Would go back again!
Kate Williamson
We went on a Monday early before pub quiz had even started rolling in and found the arrive to order then bring out drinks very slow. I had the beef cheek which was tough. I did not expect to have to use a steak knife to cut it. For a pasta place the gnocchi was rubbery and tasteless. The other 3 diners with me all enjoyed their meals, so must have been my luck.
Praneal Badal
Nothing spectacular just average but decent Nosh.Service has been upped and it makes for a great meeting venue. Celebrated many a birthday here with friends
Cherish D'Cotta
We visited Goode Brothers in the weekend and had a great experience :) The staff member Aang was knowledgeable and was really helpful with picking dishes from the menu. Nice and relax environment .. food was yum! Will recommend to anyone! :)
Nukualofa
1st time we came here was 3 yrs ago,at that time the food was excellent but now it seems the food quality has dropped considerably.....pizza and garlic bread we ordered were tasteless...cant taste the garlic o. the bread. pizza only taste the dough......
Ruchita Choukar
We went for a late lunch on my partner’s bday.. being a great fan of Italian food, this place serves the purpose. <br/>Flatbread, pizza and a jumbo shell pasta with spinach and ricotta cheese.. <br/>amazing food. Amazing ambience
Madison Sturt
This is always a favourite place of mine, food is always tasty and fresh! A great place for group functions, as their is a variety of options on the menu and alot of space.
S & F And Baby
Late review. We came here for dinner but had called an hour before hand to see if we can reserve a table as restaurants can get quite busy on a Friday night. The lady on the phone told us that no tables are available but if we came maybe there will be but that they may be closing soon. This was at 8pm! So we show up 15 minutes later and the place is half empty!!!<br/><br/>Food was good but staff seemed like they would rather tell diners not to show up if they called!not sure if management know about this! Anyways, we had dinner and people kept coming in to dine and no! They weren’t closing! <br/><br/><br/>Look, if you don’t want us to come and dine, just put a close sign but don’t turn away hungry diners who are happy to pay for food and drinks and dessert! Or better yet, give your staff proper training!
Zac
Been here few times! Nice place to catch up for drinks and dinner! Normaly the foods really good but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth, guess was a different chef. The staffs friendly!
Marcus Lau
Have frequented this lovely restaurant for countless times. I like the vibrant and lively atmosphere there. All of the staffs there are forever an open concept where you can see the cooking show performed live by the chefs and kitchen hands while waiting for your foods and drinks.<br/><br/>A very nice place to hang out with family or friends on Fridays or weekends, or even on weekdays! Highly recommended!<br/><br/>One point to note is that the food and customer service qualities at this New Lynn store are way much better than that at Botany Town, especially the taste and the presentation of the foods, although both the stores are under the same chain. Thus, I always miss Goode Brothers New Lynn and will go back there again and again, to energise my heart, body and soul!<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 8/10<br/>Service : 9/10<br/>Price : 6/10<br/>Ambience : 9/10

Loved this place. Warm and inviting. I had the Goode Burger which was amazing. Others in my party had the pasta. The garlic bread was delicious and excellent value for money. Topped off by a awesome Lemon lime and bitters. Great food for a great price. Will absolutely be coming back.
Shutupsalem
Had a late lunch/early dinner here and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were lovely. Had the chicken pasta with cheese tortellini, my friend had the seafood pasta with gnocchi both of which were cooked perfectly. I’d come back for sure! We also ordered two peach iced teas and they were yum it’s just a shame it’s only a small glass. Can’t wait to eat here again!
Gg Grace
Lovely atmosphere. Service was good. Food was decent. Had the squid and chocolate tart. Both yummy. It's the kind of place you take an old friend out or on a date. Not the kind of place to make your regular.
Victoria Christie
We had a great evening tonight <br/>At the last minute we came in for Mother’s Day dinner<br/>Ash and Anna looked after us so well it was a lovely evening thanks guys. See you guys again soon
Hayley Sutton
My family and I Came here for Mother’s Day, and the service we received from Hannah was wonderful!!! She was very attentive to us and the service was friendly and efficient! Will definitely be back here to try more food! <br/>Very Goode! <br/>
Conz Parsons
Awesome vibes this place, service was beyond great, a nice young gentlemen had served us and was very professional and polite, food wait wasn't long at all but then again it was early lunch time, ordered the pumpkin risotto and holy heck was that amazing!! Presentation was 👌🏽 by far my favourite dish. Will absolutely be coming here again 😊 <br/><br/>

Good Brothers - New Lynn: Shane was a great host and the food and ambiance was great.  Always top notch.  Menu choice is excellent .  Easy parking and all staff make you feel welcome.
Dean Ching Yee
One of the better joints out west I regularly visit. This time we were served by Shaney who did a good job tending to our needs. Food was great as always and i like how they change the menu up but still maintain the quality. The steak i had was cooked to the right doneness. I also like the craft beers on tap.
Georgina.spratt
Cute spot to explore in grey lynn, a lot of nice places around but the ambiance drew us in. Good music, the staff all looked like they were having fun but also very attentive with good recommendations. Liked the different seating area and decor was great. Nice bathrooms. Has a great family feel to it. Got a coffee and the pesto chicken pizza which was delicious. We shared the meatballs and arancini bites which were also amazing. Really nice place to go for a chilled out pub meal.
Rob Gibbons
Great place with great food. Absolutely packed which is always a good sign and excellent live music. Even though it was busy our waitress Charlotte served us straight away and was very attentive.
Jay
Really nice place serving pretty good dishes. The ambience is really nice and the young, energetic staff are on point. Only downside is that the drinks are quite expensive.
Krista Belle
Really large restaurant with a great feel to it ‘ambience’ or whatever they say, felt homely. Laaarge menu, slightly overwhelmed for choice so it did take quite some time for us to order as it all looked great. Drinks came out after the food which was a bit unusual but perhaps it was just a busy night? Food was tasty and the service mediocre but I’ll definitely come back to try some more of the menu!
Kentmbatley
I visited here back in November 2017 after recently finding out I am lactose intolerant and transitioning to a plant based diet. The waitress was extremely helpful, she went to the chef multiple times to ask questions and get a meal modified to suit. The end result was a delicious and filling salad (I'm not a huge salad fan) and during the course of the stay, the waitress was attentive and made sure we were happy with our meals.
Jenny Botica-Beale
Prompted to write this after reading some less than flattering reviews and wondering what the fuss was. This was our first time at a Goode Brothers - was a Friday night so reasonably busy but staff were friendly and attentive throughout. There were 3 of us and we ordered the spicy rosemary squid, steak and good old fashioned fish n chips (technically ‘small’ but still very generous ). Meals were brought out fast and were overall hot and delicious. The steak was ordered rare and that’s how it came. Wine pours were generous compared to some other restaurants we’ve been to for a similar price. Hubby ordered an Old Fashioned’ and the lovely (young) waitresses asked if he meant lemonade. Bless. Bartender knew what they were doing tho (don’t even mind if they had to research it) and hubby was very happy. Ordered Oreo Tiramisu for dessert which in hindsight was exactly as described and while interesting to try, wouldn’t order again. Would have scored 4.5 if able and would happily eat there again.

I went here on Tuesday night with some friends and it was fabulous! the food was delicious and the staff where super nice and looked after us well. I would highly recommend this place!<br/>

Went to this place for lunch with a group of friends. The location and ambience is great with many different areas to sit in. We ordered the spider cola mocktail, margarita pizza, pumpkin and vege pasta, chicken & chorizo pasta and the #6 pasta. I made the request of changing the cream sauce in #6 to tomato sauce. Food was delicious however the pumpkin pasta was quite bland as it had no sauce. Service was very friendly and polite. Overall, a great place to have lunch with friends and family and above average food + service.

Nice family environment with plenty of seating options. Chefs are on full view so you can watch your food being made. Restaurant staff were very attentative and were on hand to provide us with what we needed. Food was well done. Only fault is that its abit overpriced for the portion. I will dine here again.

Have been here twice now, the first time wasn’t too flash and the prices are a bit steep which is why I try not to dine here. It’s one of the only places I hadn’t reviewed yet so in we popped for some dessert and drinks. <br/>This place is well presented, large & spacious (I’ve never seen it full though) we were given menus and told to pick our table. Once seated we realised we were given main menus with out the dessert option, so took a geeze and decided on some fries. The waiter came back asking if we would like any water. Gave us a few more minutes and then asked for drinks/food orders, we picked a latte, iced coffee and fries, asked for the desserts menu so we could look at what we came for. <br/>Fries arrived very quickly! -So quickly it was before our coffees. The coffee took another 5 minutes, when delivered we were asked if we were ready to order dessert but were still indecisive haha So the waiter gave us some more time. The iced coffee arrived another 5 minutes after that. <br/>We were left to it and never asked again for our dessert order -which was lucky because we ended up satisfied after the fries. <br/><br/>Now the quality of the food:<br/>The fries were hot, fresh and seasoned deliciously. They were served with some tasty aioli (im not a fan of aioli, but this was good)<br/>The latte was cold and I could barely taste the coffee in the iced coffee. The only perk would be that it was served with a paper straw instead of that deadly plastic stuff, yay!<br/>Overall the fries made up for the lack of quality in the drinks. The first waiter was very friendly but we didn’t get a chance to order what we initially went there for. May be back to try one of the mains to give this place a good chance although Im always more tempted by visiting the neighbouring establishes for the same price or cheaper.

Great place to unwind with a great option of food and drinks. Would have loved for the outdoor area to have the music at a higher volume however it’s understandable as this is also a family type of atmosphere.

Went on a Monday just before Christmas for a dinner with friends. Place was fairly busy, but we were seated immediately. The service was good with friendly and helpful wait staff. Food took quite a while to come, but I ordered the Spinach fettuccine with spinach balls which was tasty but I found it to be a bit too spicy for my liking. Ordered a citrus cake woth sorbet for dessert which was delicious and sorbet had an extremely strong citrus flavour. Overall was a good experience!

Tuesday lunch so not many people, greasy glasses, main waiter was nice, other blond little dude waiter ignored our polite request for help, coffee took forever, had to ask for plates for our cake, then had to hunt down forks myself, over priced.<br/>

Sub Par service for starters. The price is fine if the food was worth it. However, the food is atrocious. Given this place 5 chances. If you do decide to order, order the pizzas because that's where the value MAY be discovered. Don't waste your time with anything else especially the seafood. Strongly discouraged you to try this place. Atmosphere is also quite flat for such a big space with potential.

No pic for this one was so hungry just started smashing it as soon as it came been here a few times so I order before the menu hit the table was in a rush wife is pregnant got grilled chicken on mushroom risotto really nice gravy 8/10 could of done with a few micro greens as promised instead of bean sprouts just because I love them pizza I got pepperoni add mushroom which I was told was gonna be a while as there was mistake with my pizza so as I watched my chicken sit in the kitchen plated up and lonely while I suspect my pizza got some mushrooms added then put back in the oven it finally turned up looking pretty sad and crispy as cheese instead of stringy mozzarella just ate it couldn’t be bothered complaining or waiting or even asking for a discount was in to much of a hurry to get the wife home will go again convenient Italian at the mall

I came here with a friend last night and we ordered the pesto chicken pizza and some chunky chips. <br/>The pizza was average, and quite overpriced for the size. However, they were generous with the amount of chicken on the pizza. <br/>The chips tasted and looked the same as my local takeaway store's, except these chips were overpriced. The aioli that came with it was quite watery. <br/>I would come back to try another dish purely based on the lovely service and great ambience though.

Been here twice now. Once for drinks and snacks, once for dinner in a large group. Both times happy with food. Service when in a big group was a bit patchy, some confusion over drinks orders. Toilets were in a pretty gross state sadly but overall a good experience

This review is based solely on the food we ate, the staff and setting are both lovely. We came here for dinner this week and ordered two pastas and bread to share. The bread was home made and really nice. My girlfriends pasta - the Smoky Bacon Tomato Fettucine was great and really flavorsome. My Prawn Fettucine was completely the opposite. It was the most bland meal I have ever tried. It sounded really nice; lemon ricotta, white wine and butter sauce and chilli. However, it had no flavor at all. It tasted like plain boiled pasta with prawns on the side. The staff and environment are so nice that I would come back and try something else from the menu.

Ordered thru Uber Eats. The two highlights were the pizza base and buttermilk chicken. The actual pizza topping (chicken and cranberry) was fine but nothing special. The buttermilk chicken was tasty and tender with a great aoili but a little on the small side for the price. A pear and rocket salad was, well a pear and rocket salad without much love: the pear hadn't been peeled. Overall fine but nothing great or outstanding to justify the cost.

Very nice friendly place and the food was actually better than we thought.<br/><br/>Fetuccini spinach was awesome and the squid one of the best had for a long time.<br/><br/>The service a bit average but no dramas. <br/>Reasonably priced no bad surprises.<br/><br/>Would visit again to try different stuff.<br/>Just ask for a decent size table as there are some tiny ones where even 2 people cannot fit. This can be a bit annoying to be honest.<br/><br/><br/><br/>

$65 for two people for below average food. See why with the pics. Fish and chips $20 for small pictured, $25 for large pretty much the same but tiny bit bigger with fries. <br/>Tip: buy a jug for $16 as a cup of juice is $8. Will not dine here again.

This place is always my favourite place to go within the brickworks but and I’ve been here over 10 times since it first open. Ive had quite a few little hiccups with their food though, mainly it being cold or undercooked. <br/><br/>I had ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon and it was good apart from the fact that the salmon was so cold. Like it had come from a packet straight out of the freezer. <br/><br/>Apart from that, everything else we had ordered was great.

We came to Goode brothers after watching a movie next door and immediately were struck by the nice ambiance, ample seating and cute addition of a potted herb on each table :) we were informed that if we sat outside, there would be no waiters coming to us and we'd have to come to the bar - ok, since we were the only one there but would have been nice if they brought us some menus and glasses of water before leaving us alone. Just as I was bringing ten menus back to the table a waiter ran ahead and brought a bunch of menus too. Confusing service expectations. I ordered an Italian peach cocktail and it was very disappinting - no peach flavour at all. The fries were also just average. Garlic pizza bread was the same - didn't like their crust much. Other food looked a bit lacking but didn't try it. Table seemed to enjoy their burgers but pizzas looked really skimpy on toppings. Prices were quite high for drinks especially. Overall I like the ambiance but would definitely skip the food next time and just get a bottled drink.

I had a bad experience with one of the dishes the first time I went to this branch but the staff handled it well and made sure the problem was fixed. I have been back a few times since. Hospitality is like that though, stuff happens. Thanks guys for looking after me. I’ll be back.

Came here on a Thursday for dinner. I enjoyed the food, however really felt the service lacked and it all felt very disorganised. Partners food came out about 10 mins after my pasta. No-one asked how our meals were, if we wanted any drinks or Parmesan etc...<br/>
Jamie Chase
Went in tonight for dinner with my girlfriend, service was good and fast, but the food was a bit of a let down, we both ordered the creamy chicken with fettuccine and was surprised that both of our meals were completely different in appearance and taste, hers was swimming and sauce and contained large amounts of onion, whereas mine was lacking sauce and had no onion at all.
Corrin Lakeland
Squid steak was inedible, as in apart from tasting disgusting it was so tough that it was physically impossible to eat.  They forgot the wine order. The rest of our meals were disappointing but otherwise not memorable.

Love the food and atmosphere there. Nice good family restaurant. Good menu for adults and for kids. Kids got a colouring menu with crayon and today there was even a trampoline to keep them entertained!!! Big win !!! Love their fresh pasta and cocktails.

Went here with my partner for a quick lunch before our movie. We ordered the fish and chips and the seafood chowder. The fish and chips were nicely done and the seafood chowder is so flavorful with pack of fresh seafoods. For my experience, the New Lynn branch is by far the best compare to others in term of their food presentation and the atmosphere. <br/><br/><br/>Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Foods: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Services: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

good place, mix berry smooth is quite nice,<br/>I ordered creamy chicken spaghetti and meatball fettuccine, will try other style next time., Also, nice staff

I have been here a few times and tried their pasta a couple of times but always thought it could be a bit better.. although every time I have had the pizza I have never been disappointed! I love the Hawaiian and especially the pepperoni pizza here. I came last Friday night for dinner and absolutely loved the live singer/guitarist. He was so good and set a great vibe. The cocktails are nice but a bit over priced for what you get. Still a great local place to come to 😊

This is my second time reviewing the Goode Brothers and it just keeps getting better! this time I had the buttermilk fried chicken as a starter and me and my partner shared the fried squid and chips, and the margherita pizza. The chicken was crunchy and moist but flavour wise was missing any wow factor could do with a bit more spice or seasoning. The pizza was the perfect size, super stringy cheese but didn't make you feel too heavy after eating it also the basil and whole cherry tomatoes added a light freshness too it. The fried squid was heavy on the salt but was still delicious and crisp. last but not least the drink my partner had was amazing it was a passionfruit and lemon cocktail which was sweet but not overly sweet and was super fresh. service was excellent will definitely go back again!
Crystal
The food was nice. Had a creamy chicken pasta with mushrooms and bacon and it had a very nice delicious creamy sauce. The seafood pasta was ok, 2.5/5. The pasta sauce wasn't that great tasted ok and the seafood combo wasn't all that exciting. Wouldn't get it again. The cocktails were great portion sizing and tasted amazing but couldn't really taste much alcohol in them I swear I would've mistaken it for a mocktail instead (no it wasn't a mocktail). Otherwise food was served quite quickly and staff were extremely helpful and friendly and prices were not too bad. Would recommend this restaurant as a nice place to meet up for social catchups with friends.

Went here with my wife for the first time and spent $60 for pizza fries and pasta. Worst quality of Italian food I have ever had. Looked like those already made pizza dough from countdown. Meat on my pizza and the meatball in pasta were really really dry. Even the fries were overcooked, tasted like those fries you cook at home but were exposed to the freezing cold for too long. The best thing was the ginger beer we had. Went and got mcdonalds on the way home. Wont be going back

Large place, a welcoming ambience and a cool bartender dude to start off with!<br/><br/>Got seated at a table soon enough after and served by a nice & helpful young lady.<br/><br/>The starter we ordered was either Paprika Chicken or Potted Chicken, but was not bad. Felt dry, had some flavour but the sauce wasn't to our liking. Chips were good.<br/><br/>The Rugby was on and the All Blacks were obviously dominating so it really, really, really set an enthusiastic atmosphere in the restaurant which was further complimented by the Goode food!<br/><br/>Opted for the "Create Your Own Pasta" option: Both the Chicken & Chorizo Spaghetti and the Creamy Chicken Fettuccine were superb - great in quality and in good quantities. Enjoyed them, though we did add some sauce/condiments to them at times as the flavour was a tad too subtle for the entire dishes to be consumed without anything else. However, that's a fault with the dishes; we just happen to be used to slightly stronger flavours.<br/><br/>We were enjoying ourselves so much, we stayed back till the match ended and despite being full, order an Ice Cream cone each - Tiramisu and the Macadamia & Candied Hazelnut - both of which were favourable though we'd opt for the other options next time!

I had the Braised Beef Cheeks.<br/>Loved my dish. Very tasty.<br/>The polenta chips were ok.<br/>Recommend it 🖒<br/>Partner had Roast chicken and Risotto.<br/>Chicken was a little bit dry but the risotto was very tasty. 🖒

Been to Goode Brothers twice now. Comfortable atmosphere, and friendly staff. First time for family dinner, which was a pretty average experience - several comments from family members suggested it was not good value, and had a very limited menu at the time. Second visit (over a year later) was a spontaneous decision to grab a bite and beer with a mate. He ordered pepperoni pizza, which he considered good for $13.50 (special), but wouldn't be ok with what he received if it were full price. I ordered a Tuatara beer on tap - overpriced, and some fries (had already eaten dinner), which came out over cooked. I requested they send out a new basket of fries, which also came out overcooked. The fries were less enjoyable than most takeaway/fast food/fish and chip outlets, at about 4 times the price - not acceptable. Disappointing, won't be back.

Went to this place tonight to bod farewell to a close friend. It was a horrible experience. We ordered the food then the lady who was serving brought the wrong order. We also kept on receiving different people to serve us which confused the working team there. Finally my beef burger arrived 45 minutes after my friends finished theirs. To my horror the burger was not even half cooked. I asked the girl to take it back and she quickly returned to tell me that the chef refused to cook it further saying that is how they work. She asked if I could order something else and pay. I am so disgusted with the service here. I feel the waiters need to be trained and allocated to certain tables not to roam all over as this caused much confusion.

Love this place, I live very close so it's very convenient. Been here 3 times now. Had good food and friendly customer service almost everytime. Lovely environment. Would fully recommend.

Dined there with friends recently.  Fantastic service and the prices were reasonable.  The food is very good but could do with a little more flavour / thought perhaps?  We would definitely dine there again.

Ate here on a Sunday afternoon, wasn't busy nor empty. Drink orders taken right away and delivered within 5mins. I ordered a lovely prawn pizza that actually had an Italian name that I don't recall but was delicious all the same. Not stacked with prawns but enough to compliment the fellow rocket, sticky cheese and sweet lemon sauce. Perfect amount of oil used. We waited no longer than 15mins for our food to which we listened to background easy-listening music. Staff checked up on us mid meal but weren't annoying - appreciated! Will be trying their seafood platter next time

First off beautiful setting, love the decor and seating arrangement. I came here for breakfast with mum and we got the "Goode Breakfast" which was amazing. Loved the chorizo sausage and the coffee was pretty decent too. Overall a nice little spot

Decided to come here for dinner as I have heard it was pretty good. As we walked in we were seated straight away near the window with the open kitchen in full view. Our waiter offered us tap water or sparkling water which I thought was good of him. We then ordered a brushetta and a ciabatta loaf with dips. The loaf was delicious and warm and the dips were nice but the brushetta was really soggy. I think with the amount of ricotta on it didn't help. The atmosphere was good here with good music in the background. The table we were seated at was a little small but a nice touch was the basil plant as a centerpiece. We ordered a beef burger and paprika dusted chicken which soon came after our starters. The burger was homemade but just lacking flavour and served with fries and aoli. The chicken needs a bit of work and a bit more thought into it as it was just tired looking matching it's flavour. All I was tasting was a dry burnt paprika flavour and the only thing to try and make it taste better was some sort of tomato salsa. So after eating we ordered a coffee and an ice mocha which was average but ok. So while waiting for our coffee and the kitchen being an open style with the chefs in full view we see 1 of the chefs at the far end of the closest to the bar having a good old stretch. Me being a chef for over 20years can understand that we are on our feet 13 hours of our 12 hour shifts so can get a bit cramped and tired and yes we may need to stretch but if you are going to grab your foot by your shoes to stretch your tired little quads in full view of the customers and then touch your face then stretch your other leg the same way. You might want to wash your hands before you touch the food you amateur. So disgusted by this incompetent clueless chef which spoilt my view on this place. Other than that we had a good night just put off by this so called chefs actions.

Had a craving for pasta today so I went a long to Goode Brothers to fix that craving. My wife had the Kumara + Pine Nut Giganati while I made my own pasta. I had the Linguine with Prawns, chicken courgette with the spicy arrabiata sauce and also decide to go with a side of fries with aioli sauce. <br/>The fries were quite delicious due to the salt, very salty but that's how I like em, the aioli sauce helped balance that saltiness out though.<br/>My pasta was quite good, nice and spicy but they were quite stingy with the prawns only having like 5 in my dish which was disappointing. But there was plenty of Chicken to make up for it I guess. The courgette was nice and it tied well together.<br/>I did have a few spoonful of my wife's pasta. Kumara, pasta and pine nut was quite different but it was quite delicious. Overall it was a nice lunch no La Rosa but I was very satisfying and a nice place to have a date with the wife. Price was ok little more then I'd like to spend but hay it helped me feel full and happy.

Great place for families. Food is well priced and tasty. The staff are friendly. Atmosphere is great except on a Monday night there is quiz night, for diners not quizzing, there is no music. Their loyalty program is worth joining too.
Imogen Trupinic
Relaxed easy going pub/restaurant with a family friendly feel. Nice basil pot plants! I would recommend the chicken breast dish - the pumpkin risotto is superb. My husband had the burger and thought it was quite good (pun intended). Great place to have dinner and a vino before going to a movie at the Reading Cinema.

Goode vibes, Goode food, Goode presentation, Goode service. Seasoning is well-done, miles better than other places I've been to! I always take my friends here!
Mercypatch
Fun location and vibe about the place, cool decor and friendly efficient staff. Pricing is quite hefty for the serving size you get which would be why I wouldn't go there regularly.

O my gosh. 🤤 I have only ever tried foodcourt fettucini so this was by far my expectations i couldnt stop eating it even though it was big enough serving for two!. No regrets. Lol!. The vege sidedish was fairly plain although im accustomed to more spice and i didnt salt it enough. The chicken parmesana was delicious too. Lamb salad was great too! The menu is decent so ill be back to try other stuffs.

Been several times. Have mixed feelings about this place. Some experiences have been decent others a little less. They have not been horrible but there are times where attention to detail and better customer service would pay off. Have noticed continuous change of staff which suggests a high turnover and we all know what that means... nevertheless, the food is good. Would not go out of my way though.

So bad. Slow service. Below average food. Ridiculously priced and tiny portions (e.g. 5 polenta chips). Hope it was teething problems on opening but I won't be back to find out.
Natalie
Nice looking joint but average in every way in terms of food. Gourmet?? No. Service wasn't bad, but I did notice no one asked how our meal was - so I took it upon myself to mention it. We ordered dinner for the kids which was fine but the grilled fish was too peppery and the pizza looked more like a bought one out of a packet. Our small plate of meatballs were dry and chewy and not pleasant at all. To the waitress' credit, she handled the complaint well. The 'spicey chorizo and calamari' was just as bad but I held off on that one - not sure why. The squid was barely opaque with no colour on it whatsoever. The chorizo was just as bland looking - looked and tasted as if it had been stewed not cooked on a hot grill. Rather disappointing for a place that's quite new. I expected more of Brickworks. We won't be going back.
Nathalie
Dined here for lunch, the place is very nice. Very modern yet simple. We were seated promptly and all staff were super friendly and attentive. (not sure what it would be like on a busy Saturday night though.) We ordered one pepperoni pizza - good for 3 adults (traditional pizzas were half price!) really yummy with generous toppings and thin crust. We also ordered beef salad and chicken pasta. All our food had Great quality and the food came out super fast. Their overall menu was pretty average though (steak, chicken, pizza etc.) but price and quality wise is pretty good value! Will be back! (And will take photos next time)

Really disappointing experience today at Goode Brothers New Lynn. Restaurant really quiet, made our order, got drinks and nothing else. 40 minutes later, we ask a server as our original server has disappeared and they are shocked that we haven't been given our starter, let alone the rest of our meal. No one there could tell us what had happened, the order was hanging in front of the kitchen but no one had picked it up. As they could not tell us when our meal would be ready, we left. Really disappointing, travelled from the Shore for this, won't be back ☹️

The best thing about this place is that it let's you create your own pasta.<br/>Delicious food along with good quantity.<br/>Loved the decor and ambience with comfortable seating. <br/>Friendly and polite staff. <br/>Ordered chicken bacon and mushroom pasta in creamy sauce, lamb pizza and chicken crumbed burger. Liked it all<br/>All in all a good experience, plan to visit again.
Selina
I went there on a reasonable quiet day which is Tuesday after lunch hours. Im been sitting down almost after 15 mins, still no one come to me take orders. It's quite disappointed, and the food was almost cooled when i got them. It's kind of below average.

I emailed to confirm a birthday booking of 14 plus and there was no charge for taking a birthday cake. Great! Thank you for the prompt reply and for having our cake brought in. Arrived at venue, nice set up. Ordered apple pie spiced cocktail, very nice. Staff that looked after us was very patient and managed to get everyone's order. Our meal looked delicious and we All enjoyed it. Had a great evening and the staff member was very approachable through the whole night and gave us comfort while we were there. We ate our birthday cake which I thought was kind enough of the supervisor to allow it to happen. Thank u. Overall I felt the venue was inviting, the staff was helpful, our meal was on target and we All had a great evening.

We are going to cinema but the tickets are sold out, so we just randomly choose a nearby restaurant to grab our dinner. The reason for us to choose goodie brother is they have much more customer than others, so I thought maybe they have nice dishes.<br/><br/>I order a simple Italian pasta with tomato for $34. Due to the great atmosphere and not-cheap-but-acceptable price, I do expect the dish. Because everything since I step in this restaurant is really great, clean n tidy, pretty deco n friendly atmosphere.<br/><br/>However I felt a bit disappointed with the pasta. It looks really nice but taste pale. It is lack of juice so taste really dry. And it has few filling in it.<br/><br/>My friend felt disappointed too. We all thought it is a nice place if u just wanna have a seat. But it's not a nice place to enjoy ur dish. Btw the staff is friendly but they r too busy so sometimes they don't even notice u, it took us some time to find someone place our order<br/><br/>I also order a ice cream, tastes average, so I didn't take pics<br/><br/>Other things but dish all good, especially the herb on the table, fantastic<br/><br/>Rate 3.0 for nice deco, great n tidy atmosphere, herb on the table<br/><br/>Missing 2 points rate for dry n pale pasta, and friendly but too busy staff

Rubbish place would not ever recommend this place to anyone. My family came here, Drinks came incorrectly to our table a total of 6 times, Food was rubbish for example chips were cold, eggs were all hard and cold and my plate turned up late 40 mins after the first plate was served. Waiter said we couldn't order any pizzas as not available, no more brownies for dessert. All in all was one big mess! I could cook better than all the chiefs there and I am a average cook.

Dined in for lunch - was impressed with the service - fast , friendly , I got the eye fillet with mushroom sauce - ordered it well done - and it was - which is nice at other places I've had to send it back for still being pink , the mushroom sauce was delicious and it went so well with the kumara fries <br/>My sister got a chicken burger with fries and (bacon and haloumi on a seperate plate that's why that plate looks semi empty) <br/>Everything was fresh, nice , and was exactly like you'd expect , would not hesitate to dine here again

We had pasta and pizza here. Average food. Not very good service. Really cold inside. The pasta sauce was so watery, milky, floury. Everything but not creamy as it should be. The pizza was not bad. This restaurant will not be my favourite option. It's a pity. It's a spacious beautiful restaurant.

We always like going to Goode Brothers, New Lynn. The service always so great and friendly staffs at all time when we dine there. Food always up to standard each time we go there and quick too.<br/><br/><br/><br/>
Hello Food
service was slow and the food very average compare to the last time we went. ordered the chicken pasta and fish n chips.....pasta was overcooked and tasteless. fish n fish cooked without any seasoning. very average n overproced!! WOULD NOT recomment it!

This review is from the past times I've dined in Goode Brothers including today's dinner, which I've decided to rate it at a 3.0/5 due to today's visitation.<br/><br/>The reason being was mainly the dish I ordered today which was Chicken Parmigiana and my boyfriend's dish which was Salt and Pepper Squid. The chicken was slightly dry with the crispy skin being quite soggy, granted though that it did have a tomato-based paste on top of it, yet the topping that I believe was 'sauce' on top of the paste was quite solid and almost like rubber. As with the Salt and Pepper Squid was quite tasteless though lemon was squeezed on it. The dessert was delicious yet pricey for a plating my boyfriend ordered, as I had a pistachio gelato cone, it tasted quite nice and was reasonably priced. The entree was pizza bread and I believe personally this was my favourite dish apart from my gelato cone. The service was quite moderate yet it is understandable as it was quite packed, but the staff were wonderful and friendly. I would recommend Goode Brothers for casual dining, as the music and atmosphere overall was pleasant.

This place is really fun, really good food and service! If you ask them to make something entree size they are really good about it, the staff are really nice- although if you sit outside you have to go inside to order which is kind of a memory test if you are ordering entrees, mains and drinks for a few people! But overall this place has really good vibes and is great if you want to have a long lunch with a couple of bottles of wine!

I've been here a couple of times now and I have to say the food has never disappointed me. The staff are friendly, yet they don't hover. <br/><br/>I can't honestly say that you can't get the same quality of food elsewhere for cheaper because you can. But once in a while it's a good treat. <br/><br/>The roasted garlic and herb pizza bread is awesome

GOOD FOOD...<br/>GOOD SERVICE...<br/>GOOD STAFF...<br/>GOOD GOODE PEOPLE...<br/>The food is absolutely amazing! I have a soft spot for the seafood chowder 😊 I am also a huge fan of the seafood platter it's great value! <br/>I always look forward to my next visit. <br/><br/><br/>

Been here twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. I feel they are overpriced. The quality of food is average but they take ages to deliver the food. The staff are not that friendly either.

Not the place I usually like to go to;  too much light for dinner and loud music, which is more suited for bars, but I'd that even so my overall experience was good.<br/><br/>I tried a prosciutto and confit mushroom pizza. the cured ham was very good, but I really don't think the mushrooms were really confit. My friend had a beef hamburger that looked very yummy,   and the chips were ok. <br/><br/>Service was good and they have a good range of food and drinks that come for a reasonable price, considering the size of the portions. One nice thing is that they have fresh basil on the table that you can smell of eat while waiting for your order. Nothing like fresh ingredients!

Busy good place. Dined here last night with a friend. Had two drinks and a pizza and chicken burger. Chicken burger was amazing, such a good size and well worth the money. Ordered a margarita pizza was disappointed there was no basil only cheese and tomatoes? Dessert was a cheesecake which was very rich but good. Thanks :)

Was quite happy with the device and food here this time. When it first opened I think it was a bit unsteady on its feet but the staff have got better and the food has become a lot better also. This time I had ricotta and chorizo Linguine pasta, was very nice! Great work Goode Brothers 😊

Food is good, I come here quite often because it's close to my house but the manager sucks!!! He is always rude, when I'm waiting to be seated he stands right in front of me but waits 5-10 minutes before serving me. The other day I got charged for sparkling water, other restaurants serve sparkling water but I've never been charged and when I told the manager he didn't care. Will not be returning!

It was a bad experience eating at Good Brothers, New Lynn, because of the extremely bad service and discriminating behavior from the staff. We went for drinks and food with our colleagues, while we liked the food, our colleague felt that the seafood dish was below average, moreover, they asked for IDs from me and one of my friends (both of us being Asians) and when my white friend mentioned that she doesn't have her ID, they said "You are OK". I didn't understand, how they judged 2 people without IDs to be ok and the other 2 were humiliated and left without any drinks, and the staff weren't even courteous enough to ask us if we wanted to order some soft drinks instead. Moreover, while we had our desserts we were still thinking of ordering some more, but before we could even ask, they presented us with the bill... All in All, the worst experience ever in NZ in the last 2 years..

Bellow average food - quite dissapointed with Goode Brothers New Lynn. Thought we would try it out for the first time in New Lynn. I had the Warm Lamb salad - dish came out, looking at it I was already dissapointed - lamb was cold not 'warm' as mentioned on menu and pulled no flavour at all except the sauce. It was mainly all spinach and few pieces of feta. Cous cous was not tastey. My husband tried the Lamb Salad and said it was dissapointing. My husbands meal Chargrilled Angus scotched fillet was average, meat was chewy. My friend mentioned his meal Goode Beef Burger was not that great either. Overall totally over priced and total waste of money. Waited to speak to the host at the front but was busy. Staff were lovely and efficient. We went elsewhere for dessert as we were put off by the meals. We wont be returning.

the food was good, average but what brought it down for me was that when we came in we weren't even offered any water ot drinks when we were seated and the lady had the gall to say that could we pick a table that had two seats on it so they dont have to clean the table again, even though the restaurant hardly had any customers because it was 9pm on a sat night, so i hope that other customers are not treated like this though.

WORST SERVICE EVER! - New Lynn Goode Brothers. Was seated by waitress, waited almost 30mins still no one came to take order. Went to bar to order own drinks and asked if we were able to put in food order. Was told waitress would come out to us to take it. Waited again 15mins still no service. Went up again to ask for service. Waitress came with no apology or explanation- Order was taken. Food came out - nothing exciting about the food. Was lukewarm - not even hot! Then when it got to paying our waitress couldn't even sort out our bill to pay! SUCH BAD SERVICE! Wouldn't recommend to anyone at all!

We stopped by for a early dinner on a Tuesday around 4 pm - restaurant is huge and has a lovely decor.  There were only a handful of diners as you would probably expect at this time of day.   Pizzas and pastas were on special for only $12.50, ordered the traditional pizzas, they were large, fresh and tasty.  We couldn't eat them all so had to take away. Great place for a casual family dinner, will be back.

I went here with my family for my mums birthday and I was impressed. I ordered a salmon salad (as pictured) and it was delicious! There is heaps of seating options both indoor and outdoor as well as a large number of staff meaning the wait for the food was not very long. The staff are very friendly and accommodating as they arranged a special price for a cocktail for my sister who is underage who therefore couldn't have the alcohol in it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and would definitely go back as it was fast, affordable and tasty.

Came here on a Tuesday night for a quick tasty dinner before me and my partner headed to the movies. <br/><br/>Service wasn't bad after you get seated. Wasn't sure what to order but I decided on the roast chicken breast -stuffed with feta and sundried tomato, served with a pumpkin and spinach risotto jus. Chicken was a tad on the dry side but other than that, holy moly the rest of the dish was ah-maaazzzingggg!!! The sauce/jus was delish and mixed with the risotto it was heaven!! 😍 risotto itself was nice too! <br/><br/>Oh my life I think this will definitely be my go-to meal when I dine here 😋

My expectations of this place was high. Wasn't overly pleased. The atmosphere was nice and service was okay. A sleek looking restaurant and the decor is cute. Portion of food was decent.. Pasta was basic and actually quite bland. Did not taste like freshly made pasta.
Have just experienced one of my worst dining disasters at Goode Brothers in New Lynn. Ordered an entree which was superb only to be followed by a main which was pitiful to be kind-Chicken Parmigiani- the dish was advertised as having roast veges in a tomato sauce along with the chicken centrepiece the veges were carrots & potato RAW! the tomato sauce was cold and insipid the chicken while flavourful was lukewarm at best.<br/>Having sent the offending main back and ordered a replacement, I then waited 25mins before asking where it was to be told it wont be arriving anytime soon at which point I asked for the manager who eventually arrived, his attitude and response were underwhelming to say the least. Needless to say we will not be returning anytime soon or recommending this establishment to any of our wide circle of friends who are dine out regularly.

Goode Brothers has provided West Auckland an atmosphere which it was desperately lacking  - A solid sports bar/music venue/restaurant/lunch cafe.<br/><br/>I arrived here on a busy Saturday night and the staff were happy to accommodate me despite arriving prior to my booking. I ordered a pulled pork sandwhich and my fiance created her own pasta dish. We were both very impressed at the speed of our food arriving, especially considering A) How busy the restaurant was and B) How well presented our dishes were.<br/><br/>My pulled pork sandwich was beautifully marinated and went perfect with the crispy bread and sauce variety. My fiance was also impressed with quantity and flavor depth of her pasta.<br/><br/>We stayed late to watch the boxing and enjoyed our cold beverages throughout the night. <br/><br/>I went home feeling very positive and can't wait to be back for another event.

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with my dining experience here. I certainly will not be going back. Beef Burger was a complete let down, the pattie was tasteless and the onion jam had an awful taste to it, burnt perhaps? A couple of small soggy looking pieces of tomato slapped on top of some store bought out of a bag supermarket grade lettuce and there is your Burger. Over priced meals that have small potion sizes. Dessert was just as awful. The cheesecake in the jar was not eaten either. The cheesecake mixture had no taste at all and the defrosted frozen strawberries in it were terrible. The biscuit base was soggy and bland. Once I was finally served at the front counter I told the staff how unsatisfied I was but was offered no discount at all, or any other form of good gesture or apology. Let's down Brickworks in my opinion.

You have to get the Chicken Burger and the Gnocchi Carnonara! They're to die for! We had a blast here! The service was absolutely top notch and the staff were super friendly! The ambience of the area was so warm and comforting! <br/>Guys... I will definitely be back! 😉

Whilst I can only speak for the breakfast experience, my companion and I were less than impressed with Goode Brothers. The presentation is excellent and this was encouraging however - this was where the 'goodeness' ended. Both ordered hot drinks and Eggs Benedict with bacon. The first waitress took our order yet seemed confused about the drinks (nothing special, just a hot chocolate and a latte) and needed reminding about the hot chocolate. The breakfast turned up in reasonable time but - no drinks. The second waitress was asked to chase them whilst we started on the food. The eggs had been hard boiled (you don't need to be a chef to know that eggs bene = soft boil the eggs) and whilst the rest of the food was tasty - this, plus the lack of drinks ruined the breakfast experience. I arrived at the register to pay and told the waitress to forget about the drinks as they had never arrived, to which she simply stated, "oh they didn't arrive?" but not apology or explanation. Just charged me and we walked out. Goode Brothers for breakfast? No thanks.

I didn't have high expectation. However it is way worser than I expected.<br/><br/>Ordered a slow cook pork linguini pasta. The pasta was way too spicy and all the favours are masked. I often eat spicy food and this one is definitely way too spicy.<br/><br/>When I told the cashier she just replied 'The menu said it is spicy, so it is the way'<br/><br/>It is not an acceptable response. I would expect them to tell the chief, not to blame me.<br/><br/>Would not go again.

The menu is quite extensive and can be a bit overwhelming at first. You can make your pasta which is a pretty good option. The service is really good and the food is a bit of a hit and miss. The lamb meatballs were good. The desserts come in mason jars and are all really good.

I was in the area so popped in for a late breakfast as it looks quite nice from outside. I ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon. The portion was good for a brunch and the food was presented well but my poached eggs were over cooked and the hollandaise sauce was gloopy and looked like it had curdled. Overall I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food for the price I paid.

I have been here twice and havent been dissapointed! Food is great and comes out fast...it gets quite busy at times... They have a wide selection to choose from. The shared platters are worth your dime!

Goode Food. Goode Wine. Goode Times.<br/><br/>As part of the newly opened Brickworks in the newly renovated New Lynn Mall, Goode Bros has been a welcome addition to the area the was lacking dining options. With its modern decor, vibrant colours and open spaces, if is very welcoming. This seemed like a Goode place to drop in for dinner before catching a movie.<br/><br/>As restaurant part of a mall, it is very busy and we expected our service to be so but that was kit the case. Our wait staff were courteous. We received prompt service, drinks followed quickly and food not far behind that. We had a few shared plates for entrees. I had the Rib Eye with Roasted Potatoes and Mushroom Sauce 👌🏽 My partner had the Tomato and Feta Stuffed Chicken which she thoroughly enjoyed. We had little room for dessert but glad we did. I highly recommend the Chocolate Mousse. Trust me, this something they do really well here.<br/><br/>In my opinion, they just need a bit more attention to detail for FOH staff and they will be on to a winner. All in all, a goode night. Goode Food. Goode Wine. Goode Times. <br/><br/><br/><br/>

We were pleasantly greeted and seated in a timely manner, however once ordering our drinks they took far to long to come leaving us waiting for about 5min.  We ordered the warm ciabatta loaf with sundried tomato, pesto and EVOO, it was nice apart from the bread base being quite hard and impossible to cut/break the bread.<br/><br/>The mains arrived while we were still finishing our bread leaving little room on our table and a quick swipe at the last piece of bread.  I had the chicken fettuccine and my partner the stuffed chicken with risotto.  I was offered fresh parmesan for my pasta which was a nice touch.  However once I was topped with parmesan they left our starter plates on the table, not being cleared till part way through the main course.<br/><br/>My pasta was pretty good, with a good even amount of mushroom, bacon and chicken through the dish, my partner found his chicken slightly dry but the risotto was nice and creamy.<br/><br/>Overall the venue is nice with plenty of different spaces to sit, the staff were friendly, the youth and inexperience will become better with time.

This place is always buzzing. The ambience has a nice feel to it and the interior decor is very inviting with outdoor dining available. On Mondays and Tuesdays Good Brothers offers 1/2 price on pizza and pasta and the beef cannelloni is that good I'd pay full price! But I would not pay full price for the pizza. It tastes like they've bought pizza from a grocery store and microwaved it. Not worth $20+ let alone $10! However, to end this review on a high the chocolate mousse jars are worth every penny! A little rich and you could definitely share between 2 but if you're craving chocolate or have a super sweet tooth I highly recommend this dessert!

This is a huge space, with indoor, outdoor and bar area. Wine list was pretty good, some different options and different pour sizes available. We both went with pasta which was served very quickly. The fettuccine was nice and silky but the spaghetti was too al dente and stuck together in clumps, prawns overcooked. Very average food. The garlic pizza bread was the highlight, thin, crispy and full of flavour. Fresh parmesan grated on at your table, which was a nice touch. To be really picky our table was wobbly and I was seated on one of the couch bench seats and every time the people next to me moved I felt it like I was on a motion master, felt quite unstable and I'm not a large lady and neither were they! I would probably only go back to utilize the bar area with a group of friends if there was a game on. Slight chaos at til when we went to pay, huge cue with one poor operator while lots of other staff looked on doing not much
Natasha
Went here on a Saturday night, nice and clean with many tables.<br/>Had the garlic bread - so good.<br/>Ordered chicken, mushroom and bacon penne and stuffed chicken breast on risotto.<br/>The pasta was yum - portion size was huge. Couldn't finish it.<br/>The chicken was good too but the risotto it was served on wasn't a good side for that chicken.

This place is always hustling and busy every time I walk past it. I finally got to try it out on a Friday night and it was packed. Regardless the service was still prompt and friendly. <br/><br/>I tried their chicken burger but the pattie was dry and lacked seasoning which was disappointing. My friends had the gnocchi and spaghetti. Which looked great but again lacked seasoning. Perhaps quality had dropped because it was so busy. The seafood platters were great though and is one dish I would recommend if dining with a group of friends. Nonetheless for what you pay for, its on the high side.

Went to the Goode Brothers as a student for a tour of the restaurant. The GM was awesome gave us amazing advice about the venue and hospitality industry. The establishment was absolutely beautiful such a big open space with so many different options to be seated. Even though the restaurant is huge it has a very comfortable and cosy feel to it. I cant wait to dine in and try all the freshly made pasta pizza and kiwi cuisine.
Moni Oka
I as a student went here to learn about the establishment.<br/><br/>the highlights of this experience was that the Goode brothers make their own pasta and sauces on site from scratch. There is an area where you can watch it been made or you can have a date night were you can make your own pasta and the chief will cook it how you desire. Also loved the different areas and open plan were you can be sited. Cant wait to go back and try the food : )
Emily
atmosphere was good, not many people in so service was quite efficient. ordered the quattro platter which was very yummy and perfect for two! downside was the chicken was very dry. Got a side order of chips that were not nice at all. very dry and felt as though they had been sitting in the deep fryer for ages. very hard to eat. Also ordered a beer and got given the wrong one, didn't wanna ask for it corrected so just let it go. I would definitely go there again as there's so many things to choose from on the menu!

Accidentally found this restaurant. Good environment with good service. Awesome food especially the scotch fillet. Is so filling..Yumm Yumm..Mojito is so nice..

A great restaurant for a nice dinner in new Lynn.<br/><br/>Initially the menu was quite overwhelming but everything looks really good. <br/><br/>The make your own own pasta and salad options are fantastic to adjust dishes to your own taste. <br/><br/>The prices for the quality and portions of the food are perfect!

Great atmosphere, good food and great service.<br/>Staff friendly and attentive, great wine selection. <br/>Good food options. <br/>Had the Caramelized Onion & Rosemary Pizza Bread, but also sampled the Chicken & Stuff Olive with Sun Dried Tomato Pasta.

Fave place for dinner dates! I always get the lamb salad and its delicious- so much flavour and all the right ingredients!! Have never got anything else other than the spicy chicken platter in the bar section.- also recommend that. Love this place.

Came here for a late lunch with my partner while we were waiting for a movie to start. Could not fault anything with the service or food, both were extremely good we were seated quickly, the waitress took our order quickly but didn't hover, let us make our mind up without badgering us. I ordered the fish and chips and was very pleased with the meal. It arrived quickly, the fish batter was perfect and the chips were golden and crunchy on the outside while soft and buttery on the inside. I will definitely be coming back again!

Very average experience second time around here , 25 mins to get A drink , order food at the same time ,35 mins later we ask if the meals are close then to be told they have lost the docket and meals weren't even ordered !! Definitely do not recommend this place for a Goode time ! It's crap

We came here for an early dinner on Sunday. I had read the reviews prior but thought I wasn't in a rush so id give it a go. <br/><br/>The service was brilliant! From the second we walked in we were greated then seated. Our waitress was lovely and quick to take our order. The food was super fast too. <br/><br/>We got the Olive and Fungi pizza which was really good! It had the perfect amount of toppings and it wasn't greasy or salty. The base was crisp and soft. We got the Fresco Salad with buffalo mozzarella which was delicious! I got a mojito which was perfect! Not too sweet and full of mint. <br/><br/>We sat outside and watched people, it had sun and shade. The atmosphere was lovely! <br/><br/>So overall I was pleasantly surprised! I will come back here for sure!!

Came here on the 14th of February. Drinks arrived quickly and were fine, food was fine also. The thing that bugged us was their was 20 flys in visible site, which put me off my food. I had to keep swiping them away from my food which got annoying. Also there were so many tables that had not been cleared and were sitting there for a long time and staff wouldn't pick them up after taking food or drinks to the table next to it. It wasn't busy at all either so could not understand that.
Eleanor Purdey Smith
Such a hard place to rate. The service is lovely, the wait for food is long while the food itself okay. The portion sizes are excellent as are the kids' items. There is loads to choose from but the food is nothing extraordinary although better than Gina's! I'd come back again for a family outing but probably not a girls' night or a hot date.

I came here last night after weighing up between Cleaver and Co, however ‘Goode Brothers’ seemed to have a larger variety of food options. The décor is sleek and modern, we were seated quickly and every table had a miniature pot plant of basil leaves which I loved!<br/><br/>We ordered a Lamb Salad, beef cannelloni and ciabatta loaf to share. The service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive plus the food came out quickly. Unfortunately the food was very average, I didn’t have high expectations so I wasn’t disappointed, it just wasn’t amazing or bad -very mediocre. The ciabatta loaf was standard. The beef cannelloni was basically just lasagne with far too much meat, I felt like all I was eating was beef mince and cheese. The lamb salad was quite nice and I enjoyed the sweet taste of the prunes throughout it – but still didn’t wow me. <br/><br/>I would still dine here again and try something else on the menu, but wont be in a rush to head back!

Beautiful space, above average food but the service really lets down this place. We have been back three times, the first time we thought it would be an isolated event of having a terrible waitress and waiting staff who were chatting in corners rather than assisting customers, so we decided to try it another time with friends who were keen to try Goode Brothers. Sadly it wasn't an isolated event...it took the waitress 15 minutes to greet us - the restaurant was nowhere near busy and there were many idle staff just hanging out. It took 30 minutes for her to come over and give us water...by this time we were ready to order but she had to pop off and wasn't back for another 10 minutes...we unfortunately had to go a third time with family. Thankfully this will be the last time as now our friends and family know how unbearable the service is. I don't think it's actually the wait staffs fault but rather management who have clearly not training their staff. Hope it picks up in the future because it's a shame as Brickworks is really great.
Sungsam7
The seafood platter: mussels possibly from a plastic container one could purchase from Pak n Save, not so fresh almost slimey looking salmon, salt n pepper squid rings, the prawn corns and I think it is deep fried bits of crumbed fish. The rest of the large board is piled with feta cheese, sundried tomato, artichokes, olives, courgette slices and toasted slices of ciabatta (?) drizzled with some brown looking sauce. <br/>My beef pattie was tasteless and could have done with some spice or herbs or something. The chunky chips looked as though they were there to cover the large area of the plate. Disappointed as I paid our bill I thought of Macdeez and their designer burgers. ....<br/>The staff are great here and are always lovely to see.
Cmys001
Average restaurant. We went on a Monday for lunch. Waited for ages for service and the food was below average. The pizza quality was very bad. The base tasted frozen and the cheese tasted prepackaged pre grated. And there's only one vegetarian pasta option? The desserts were okay. <br/><br/>Won't be going here again.
Yasmin Bucknell
Came here one night after dinner as my friends and I felt like something sweet. To our disappointment, the Desserts were horrible!!! We barely touched them. However it has a great location and set up.
B D H
Great location and great outdoor seating. The idea of being able to pay at the table, brilliant! Lots of staff but none of them were all that attentive and had they come and asked, a lot of the people at our table would have had a drink or two more. Food was average. Nothing to write home about. There are better places to frequent at The Brickworks

Excellent service, we ordered a Chicken and Cranberry Pizza and it was so delicious, the fries were hot and nice, even the drinks as well. Served really fast despite how busy it was! A bit pricey but the quality of the food is top notch so it's appropriate.

Great food, great service, friendly staff and amazing ice cream!! The vegetarian pasta options are limited as there is only one option and it also did require a lot of salt and pepper due to the blandness. The pasta is handmade I believe and fresh making it delicious. Would definitely come back again and try their pizzas! Overall great experience!!

Came here as a group just before Christmas on a Friday evening. To start with, it took 25 mins to find a car park - (which is not the restaurants fault but could affect their business as most of us were close to just giving up and going elsewhere) we had booked prior so was nice we had a table sorted. The service was good especially as several were training and admitted that; it was really busy but our main waitress was very efficient. A few ladies had cocktails in which they found over priced, we all enjoyed our mains (on the pricier side too) which we only waited about 30 minutes for. The deserts were amazing!!! So yummy. Only thing is being in a jar (which looked cool) they were really hard to eat so we weren't a fan of the jars. Over all we enjoyed dinner and our experience and would definitely go back. Just remember to book on busy nights and allow PLENTY of time to find a car park, no matter what day or time it is! 😊
Tan.ned
Pretty pricey. Standard portions. Excellent staff tho. Good environment. Place also gets a little busy so a little booking before hand won't hurt. One thing, their dessert was average. Not happy about it being in jars. . .hard to eat.

It makes me really sad writing this considering how much I enjoyed eating at the Goode Brothers' Botany branch. I'm not sure if it's just because they are a new restaurant who have taken on a massive space with little to no organisational skills or proper management or training but the one (and now probably only time) I went there to eat was horrific by any standards. <br/>I went on a mildly busy night, the bigger tables were already seated and eating, so they really didn't have any excuses for how long it took to seat people. Our hostess didn't know which parts of the restaurant were free for (four) people to sit so she asked us where we would like to be seated - yes courteous, but when the restaurant is becoming full don't waste our time by asking and then telling us we can't sit where we have selected. Next, it took around 15-20 minutes for a waitress to even see us to ask if we would like to order or get some drinks (she wasn't even in our section according to her, but declined to tell us which waitresses were). After she took our order, looking around half the time and only half listening causing us to repeat our orders multiple times she just left and placed the order. Between then, and our entree arriving (best part of the evening, and it was delicious) no one came to our table to clear empty glasses or apologise for the wait. After the entree was finished, again no one came and cleared the plates or glasses or asked if we wanted more drinks. I'm not sure if they just hadn't been trained properly but there were wait staff hanging around by the kitchen instead of coming around and clearing tables. We didn't have anyone come to our table until over an hour later when they brought out our first main - like I said there were 4 of us and they brought out all mains separately - when that happened, they still didn't clear away our entree dishes (or apologise for the wait) and instead gave me a cold burger with brown fries -from using old oil- I had been watching my burger sitting on the kitchen counter for at least 15 mins by the time she brought it to me so I asked the waitress to please get another one made that wasn't cold. After 5 minutes she brought out the same burger that had just been reheated. I had 3 bites and just left it to the side. The rest of the mains were an utter disappointment to the rest of the table, the carbonara was watery and tasteless, the ravioli was way undercooked (which was a pity because it could have been a lovely meal) and the seafood chowder was grossly over salted. About 15 mins after we finished a waitress came and collected the plates but left mine because it still had good on it and didn't even ask if I wanted her to take it. I had to flag her down and ask her to - at which point, good and trained waitresses would have asked if there was something wrong with the food why I hadn't eaten it- but no, she just took the plate and left. Once at the counter, I told the waiter that we wouldn't be paying for the burger as it was cold and then reheated etc. he was actually the most professional and well mannered staff member we encountered the whole night - he politely asked whether we told the waitress, and when I explained that she never asked nor did she stay long enough for me to say anything, he apologised profusely and took it off the bill with no further questions. Overall I was so disappointed with the whole ordeal, even the atmosphere was disorganised and chaotic. Even the kitchen staff ( from what I observed) lacked organisation and direction. Hopefully these are all just teething problems , but I have had no problems with any other restaurants in the brickworks ! I would consider going back in a couple of months once things have settled more only to see if they have improved.

Please don't get me wrong, the food here is beautiful but was quite disappointed at the portion size of the chargrilled Angus scotch fillet meal which is $34.50.<br/>We got a small sized steak with about 5 potatoes and mushroom sauce. Taste was there but would not recommend if you're taking your very hungry husband because you may need to stop at McDonald's on the way home as well.

I went here last week with my family for dinner; and ordered the Salt & Pepper Squid (whatever it is called) and it was extremely disappointing. They used the wrong flour in the batter and the squid literally tasted like it was straight heated from the freezer. The aioli I got with it was about the only enjoyable thing on my plate. However - in a positive light my partner enjoyed his spaghetti and my parents liked their steak. I also had a lovely peach and passion fruit cocktail. The first waiter we had was lovely but she was too hard to understand (both ways) but our other waiter (young man) was absolutely lovely and everyone enjoyed his company. I think his name was Jamie. The environment is lovely inside though, love the fresh basil on every table and the place is so new and well decorated.

I visited Goode Brothers twice in the same week and I have to say I was rather disappointed both times. <br/>The first visit, the service was really slow even though only about 1/3 of the restaurant was full. I had the battered fish and chips. The batter was far too thick and there was too much of it in proportion to the fish. <br/>The second visit the service was much faster this time including the delivery of food. I had the salt and pepper squid and while it was pretty good, it lacked seasoning.

Went for the first time for dinner. Was a lot bigger than expected, clean and tidy and we were seated quickly. Drinks were ordered straight away. Menu had so many options, ordering was a little longer than usual, staff were friendly and came back once we were ready. The garlic bread was absolutely amazing and a huge portion. I ordered the seafood chowder, came out about 5 minutes after my partners food but was worth the wait. Very creamy and fresh. Fiance had the Goode beef burger which he mentioned was a little dry but overall tasty. Staff were friendly and approachable. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. Only downer was being sat in front of the door in the wind and the water downed sprite.

Came here tonight with 8 others, we did take a while but that is no reason for a waitress to get impatient.. Not the best start. <br/>Our drinks came pretty quick, the mango juice was thick and filled with flavor. The iced chocolate just tasted like cold milo.. Wasn't too impressed. The mango tea was incredibly diluted but the peach tea was much more concentrated and refreshing. <br/><br/>Food wise I ordered buffalo mozzarella - creamy and tasty with EVOO and went well with the prosciutto! <br/>As well as the gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, an average dish with no real wow factor. Quite safe flavors happening and I really expected more.. <br/>The rosemary and lamb meatballs in spicy arrabatia sauce was decent, a little crumbly though but the different components complimented each other well <br/>The chunky fries were normal fries but the aioli was incredibly good, wasn't as intense garlic flavor wise but that was a highlight, something about it just tasted really good! I feel like it may have been mixed with some lite mayo but not 100% sure. <br/>Dessert wise the Crostoli was ok, but the rest of the dessert in the jar was very average, wasn't a fan. Consistency is a hate or love kind. <br/>My personal favorite dessert was the cheesecake and vanilla panna cotta, you hardly ever go wrong with cheesecake and the tart of the raspberry compote complimented the sweet soft cream cheese layer, only to be topped off wonderfully with graham cracker crumbs. <br/>Price wise is definitely reasonable and constantly busy, I absolutely love the ambience and chic design of the place <br/>Will be back to try more

The positives: Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff.  Sadly, these positives were very much outweighed by the negatives.<br/><br/>We went for a family dinner after going to see a movie at the nearby cinema.  We took a little while to choose our meals, as the menu was fairly extensive.  Then the long wait began.  Eventually we asked the waitress if she could please check to see when our meals were likely to arrive (we are usually really patient people, and have never felt the need to do this at any other restaurant).  The waitress came back to us and said the chef said our meals would be ready in 5 minutes. Given that we'd arrived at around 7:30pm and it was now 8:30pm, we suspected at this stage that they'd somehow forgotten our order and were very quickly throwing it together at this point in time.  We then waited for another 10 - 15 minutes before our dinners arrived; In the time since we'd ordered, at least two other tables in the outdoor seating area had had groups of people arrive, order, and been served their meals before ours finally arrived.  Both tables had eaten their meals and left shortly after our dinners were served.<br/><br/>The long wait might have been forgivable if the food was well worth waiting for.  It wasn't.  We all found our dinners quite bland - when neither of my kids finishes the hot chips on their plates, you know it's not good.  There was no salt or pepper provided at the table to help remedy this (although I did notice salt and pepper shakers on the tables indoors when I went inside to pay).  My husband said the tartare sauce that accompanied his fish was awful, and left a horrible aftertaste.  <br/><br/>Overall really disappointing, and we won't be going back.

Staff that seemed unwilling to wait on customers. <br/>Wait on food was too long, even when it wasn't that busy.<br/>When food arrived, it was mediocre.

Wow awesome menu! The staff were great and the food was even better. Came here before watching a movie, our food came out in a timely manner and the staff were really friendly. highly recommend this place!

This is one busy place , even with good amount of seating it is busy. Good ambience, good flow with indoor and outdoor place. Friendly staff. Menu list is quite big , one or 2 visits not enough. What we ordered was a pizza and couple of pastas. Pizza not bad . White sauce pasta was a bit too runny but taste was still ok. What we had was nothing fancy but not bad. My fav of the night was Chocolate Jar.

Came with a few friends on a Sunday night, it was busy but we were quickly seated.<br/>Service was great really friendly and attentive. They have a huge menu, so it took a while to chose, I like the mix and match pasta options. <br/>Food was a bit slow, but we weren't to bothered we were in no rush and the place has a good atmosphere. All the good was tastes and good size portions, would definitely come again.

Have been here a couple of times as it is close to work. Food is generally good but service is very patchy. On my last visit every drink ordered never arrived until I got up went to the bar and ordered.<br/>Staff are quite disorganized and managers seem to be more concerned with exuding an air of arrogance.

Dined here for our staff do on Tuesday 1st December. (group of 8).  Arrived at and were seated at nice table at 7 sharp (our reservation).  Waitress took drinks orders, entrees and mains. 45 minutes later I asked the waitress where our drinks were ( a bottle of champagne (with 4 glasses), a beer, a coke, and 2 mock tails.) 7.50 our entrees arrive we have an extra platter which we did not order - i query this with waitress as she lays it on the table, she returns and we get this for free (no complaints about free food). 8 pm we have managed to get the bottle of champagne and 4 glasses. I ask to speak to the manager a young bloke that doesn't appear to care turns up and finally I get my beer! and then the rest of the drinks turn up.  The mains come out, one of the ladies has asked for medium but her plate is covered in blood once she cuts into her steak so this is then returned and replaced with another one.  2 ladies ordered desserts, 2 bites and then didn't rate them so left them.  Overall food well below par but service.  Well as the owner of a service based business i think disappointing would be the word I would use because typically Kiwis vote with their feet and don't speak up. More to the fact is that the staff knew that the service was poor and didn't appear to care or genuinely want to remedy this until the patrons started becoming upset. When i paid the $400 + for the meals I was given money off the bill. I was then asked how my dining experience was:  My reply was simple, It could have been a lot better.  Great location, great layout, such an opportunity here. Hopefully they can pick their game up both in the food quality and the service areas.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch - the waitresses weren't very clued up and waiting to be seated was way too long. Drinks were fast but not mixed well. Food was good but not amazing. We had salt and pepper squid and steak burger - meals were large but expensive! I don't think I would go here again. :( <br/><br/>Updated 2017. Have now been here 3 more times. Service still needs to be better but food has been good!

Tried this place after hearing about the Brickworks in New Lynn. Saturday night went with no booking, seated quickly and well looked after by excellent waitress. I had a SeafoodChowder and my wife. Pasta dish, both excellent also had bread and dips to start and drinks. Awesome food NZ very tasty. Came quickly despite being super busy and with a smile and great attitude. This was a great dinner and excellent value for money. Only gripe was the music was a tad to loud and it was hard to talk over. All in all an excellent dinner and great service. Recommend this place and will go again for sure

Don't rate this very well at all. A group of 7 friends decided to go for Xmas dinner and drinks. The waitress was not friendly at all. After ordering nibbles and drinks she kept comming back to ask if we are going to order anything else and the look on her face was not impressed when we said we would order a little later. As we were sharing some stories the security guard came over and told us to keep the noise down. In particular one of our friends have who was just laughing. With everyone else talking in the restaurant it was not over the top. We asked to see the Manager he came over and basically told us someone had complained and we were to quiet down. So after 45 mins the mains started to arrive but we sent them back as our evening had been ruined. We paid our drinks bill and we left with a very sour note of this place. We have eaten in many places here and overseas and never ever have been treated in this it was rude and very disrespectful, staff need to be retrained on hospitality especially the waiters the young lady and the manager really needs to listen to his customers the waitress wasn't interested in providing excellent service. Overall very disappointing especially when this is a new restaurant you need to be on the top of your game. As we will not recommend this restaurant to anybody.<br/>

Average food, but good portion sizes, large variety and good atmosphere. Service was a bit slow and food took nearly an hour on a Wednesday night but good for large groups and a Sunday lunch.

I had a great dinner at this spot! Really was superb! Went for a large family meal, meals came out fast and all 10/10, the menu they have is absolutely massive, so hard to choose! Have something for everyone ranging from pizza to salad to steak to salads. I had the pork ravioli with kumura and pine nuts. Was full of flavour, good sized dish, was extremely delicious. Then went for a dessert of chocolate mousse with chocolate brownie and hazelnut. Was honestly, one of the best desserts I've ever had. Wasn't expecting too much really, maybe just an average kinda blandish mousse on top of a brownie. But oh lord, was Devine, spot on. Rich, creamy, presented in a cute little jar.. I didn't get a spoon for a while but when I did, I devoured that thing. Would go back just for that for dessert. Lovely staff, very friendly. Definitely will go back!<br/><br/>UPDATE: 8/05/17<br/>Menu has changed slightly, they have taken my favourite dish there off, the pork ravioli off, re review above.<br/>I find this place fairly average if I'm honest. I've been here quite a few times and tried many of their dishes, they are all mostly just a bit bland and boring really I think. The flavour I find is just usually not there really or is too apparent.<br/>I ordered the spaghetti bolognese the last time I was there, and it was sooo tomatoey. I know that is one of the main flavours of the dish but it had hardly any meat in it, just came in little chunks throughout the dish and my mouth hurt after eating because of how acidic and tomatoey the meal was. I think the best food they have on the menu now is probably just the pizzas, I did receive a very very soggy one once though. I think I was the lamb pizza.<br/>The environment is nice here though and it's a massive venue. Staff are lovely and helpful. Food comes fast too. And the dessert menu is delicious. I'm just not really a fan of their food.

I've been here a few times for food / drinks. Staff have always been very friendly! I love the food, it is a little on the pricey side in my opinion for what you get but it is delicious. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse jar and the Amante Del Carne pizza. It has great indoor and outdoor seating and is a nice place to relax with a drink after work. Only negative thing and this applies to all of Brickworks is parking can be really difficult to find in peak times.

Went with a group of friends, must say the highlight dish of the night was the artichokes with blue cheese. I ordered the seafood spinach fettuccine of which was a very generous portion and gave a lot of seafood, however it slightly missed it's mark as it lacked seasoning, and I'm assuming that the pasta is handmade though cooked well, would taste better if the fettuccine was a little less thick. Relatively busy and was well-attended by staff. Just a little improvement needed with the food.

This place is just okay.<br/><br/>The good: the staff were friendly and attentive. My pasta arrived within about 15 mins and was hot, and the portion was decent.<br/><br/>The bad: they used cubes of ham instead of actual bacon in my chicken/bacon/onion/cream pasta, which overall was pretty flavourless. I had 4 different wait staff - one seated me and took my order, one dropped off cutlery, another delivered the food, and another cleared my plate. Not really an issue for me but I imagine would be nightmarish with big groups. The menu is big but pretty uninspired. The restaurant is in a mall. <br/><br/>All in all it's probably a fine place to take your middle aged mum for something inoffensive.

Thought we would try somewhere new in the Brickworks and ended up at Goode Brothers. WOW what a venue, it looked great, awesome vibes and friendly staff. We were a table of 6 and I have to say the food was really good, presented well and our waitress was hilarious (in a good way). I had the Lamb meatballs to start and the warm lamb salad, they were looked great and tasted even better. I would highly recommend this place!

I could describe my experience here in one word: underwhelming.<br/><br/>Let me explain.<br/><br/>Me and a bunch of workmates went here last night for our Christmas work dinner. I had seen the menu and had a look at the place from the outside and was really excited. The bartender was awesome, making me the best sober driver drink I've had. The starters too were awesome. I personally loved the caramelized onion pizza bread. Things were looking good. Then I got my main. <br/><br/>I ordered a chicken burger. It seemed like a safe yet yummy option. However, it sadly was not. The burger bun was a bit stale and toasted in such a way that one couldn't actually get their mouth around the burger. Inside the burger wasn't much better. There was very little bacon and the chicken breast was quite dry.<br/><br/>Dessert was just as underwhelming. I ordered the vanilla cream cheesecake jar dessert. Sadly there was very little vanilla and a lot of cheese in the cheesecake to the point where I felt sick. <br/><br/>Overall, Goode Brothers would be a nice place to go after work for a drink and a snack but anything more is quite average.

Went in for dinner for two, got sat in between two familys.. Not a lot to choose from on the menu, told there was a 40minute wait. By the time food came out it was cold. Service was okay..

Came here for lunch on Saturday. Firstly, astounded at how big this establishment is, but quaintly decorated with a summery/Hampton feel. Nice outdoor deck area and basil plants adorning the tables. Located in the new "The Brickworks" eating area in Lynn Mall. <br/><br/>The food menu has a pretty classic European bar/restaurant selection, with burgers/pizzas/pastas and salad. I ordered the shrimp pasta, and friends ordered the fish and chips, beef salad, meatballs and beef burger. The beef salad was apparently the winner, all our dishes were tasty enough but pretty stock standard. I personally think the food is over-priced for being pretty mainstream dishes. There was hardly anyone here when we came and staff were polite.<br/><br/>Overall, a decent lunch spot to enjoy perhaps a drink on the deck and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this new eating area.. But wouldn't necessarily spend that much for the food here
Foodie Auckland
Great atmosphere and music! For a drink it is alright but god for the sake of your stomach avoid this place at all. The service is ridiculous slow. We were 12 people and ordered basis dishes (pizza, burgers) and it took 1h20 to come!!!! Thanks to goode brothers, I have rediscovered the feeling of being hungry but also my hospitality skills as I was ready to help them cooking...<br/>So disappointing experience overall - hope they can hire more cookers (they can hire me!) or more people will feel hungry

We popped in here for a very late afternoon lunch... So it wasn't busy... The place is nice, new & BIG... I wouldn't want to come when it's busy... The staff all seem new... It's like someone brought it then left whoever to run it. Friendly enough just not clued up. We only ordered the hot loaf with dips... It was ok nothing wow... But the lamb salad was really nice lots of lamb and all the flavours worked but maybe not so much oil over it next time...

Came with 3 other people at about 8:30 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. One meal we ordered wasn't available but we were told straight away that that was so and ordered something else. Everything came within 20 minutes of ordering which is great and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service was great and the only downside of the night was that the music was too loud for our taste as we had to yell to be heard. Overall good night and would go again.

Went to Goode Brothers for lunch as we love the Botany one and were so excited to have one close to us. <br/><br/>The food was average at best. Starters we had the caramelised onion pizza bread and the arancini balls, both were dry however the pizza bread had a great flavour. <br/><br/>For mains we had a mixture of pizza and pasta at the table. The pasta arrived 5 minutes before the pizza which meant half of our table was waiting for food. The pizza was good, the Tuscan chicken was nice and spicy. <br/>The risotto with stuffed chicken was tasty but the chicken was dried out unfortunately. The chicken tortellini was tasty but needed a bit more sauce. <br/><br/>After having to wave down the waitress event time we needed something and never getting asked if we were ok/needed anything else, we decided not to stay for dessert. I hope that these issues are because they haven't been open long and are still working out teething issues. However based on this trip I wouldn't go back, which is disappointing!

I ordered a Goode Beef Burger coming to $20.50, it was very presentable and very delicious I also ordered an apple juice $4.70. The meal was very delicious but waited quite long for the meal but was understandable as the restaurant was VERY packed. For dessert I ordered the Mosse with brownie in the Jar coming to $11.50, this was delicious and didn't take as long to wait. Loved the space and arrangement and would definitely recommend it for causal or fancy dinner with family or friends💗

Good food and ambiance but really bad service! The entire serving team there including the manager need to go on a customer service course, pronto! Went there for dinner with my entire extended family for my in laws' 31st wedding anniversary. After dinner we waited for half an hour for desserts, had to go and follow up with the waitress when the desserts were no where in sight, apparently the kitchen had forgotten all about them. So we had to cancel our order since it was already quite late at night. <br/><br/>We were then charged over $550 for our table, when our bill was about $250. The manger took almost half an hour to fix this. So unfortunately we wasted more than an hour because communication between the serving staff and kitchen is poor and because the staff and mangers don't know how to use their own till. Overall a very bad dining experience!

Went there for my parents wedding anniversary along with my in-laws and my 2 month old baby. Initially was quite impressed with this new development at Lynn Mall. Ordered our food and the staff seemed alright.<br/><br/>Food arrived which was good. But soon after we finished our meals things went really down hill.<br/><br/>My wife asked for dessert and we ordered 3 to share. After waiting for about 25 mins my baby started getting a bit cranky. I looked towards the kitchen and saw that all kitchen staff were clearing the kitchen. I checked with my waitress who took the order and it soon became plain that they had forgot about the dessert. Still we made no big deal and asked them to cancel the desserts. My dad who was not wearing his glasses went to pay the bill and we all left.<br/><br/>On the drive back I glanced at the bill and to my absolute shock and horror I saw we were charged $508. I saw they had charged us for at least 14 dishes that we never ordered including the desserts that never came.<br/><br/>We drove back and by this time my 2 month old was hungry and crying to get back home. I went and spoke to the waitress who agreed the bill did not look right but was more than happy to present it to us anyway. <br/><br/>She then took us to the so called manager who had the audacity to tell me it was our fault as we should have checked the bill. He had no clue how to fix the bill and after making us wait for another 10 mins asked me to recount my order. It seems the restaurant had charged us for everyone that sat on our table that evening. I have a strong feeling this was no accident considering the casual and unrepentant attitude of the staff and the manager. One of the waiter who had served us was now having a drink with some of his buddies.<br/><br/>Eventually we were given a refund in cash and we were offered a miserly meaningless apology. <br/><br/>I told him a discount would have been a kind gesture (a smart manager would have realised I could have easily fleeced the restaurant by recounting half the things we actually ordered just like they actually fleeced us but we chose to be honest) but his reply was "hey, thats why we expect customers to check their bills". <br/><br/>What makes me upset is that the manager will be back at his job tomorrow and the owners who have actually invested money in this place and pay their staff to do a good job will never know.<br/><br/>Absolute shocker.

Terrible dining experience! My birthday celebration was sunk from the start. Inexperienced staff and the waiter hovered over us to push us to order constantly. Only one drinks menu at table so some of us never got to see it in the waiter's rush to get us to order. 2 meals ran out off the menu and they ran out of coffee beans at lunchtime so no coffee. Had to request a highchair for baby. The meals for 6 people arrived piece meal not all together (2 then 1 then pizzas) and my meal was luke warm $34.50 for Angus Fillet steak and it was quick fry thin with lots of fat. On top of 1 roasted potato and three pea shoots on top. The only good thing was the mushroom sauce.  I said oh my God there's no veges and the waitress said yes. No-one told me to consider a side of veges and so I was starving when I finished. Why pay over $40.00 though to starve? ate pizza off daughters plate. The Bill was presented while one of us was still eating and drinking. My sons fish and chips was tiny. Take a doggy bag with you full of food you will need it when you finish. Suggest they train their staff and get a floor manager to keep things going properly. The kitchen obviously struggled to get meals out on time.. I never put reviews online or complain but this has driven me to it..don't go!! Cindy

My first time visiting Goode Brothers, New Lynn today. We were a group of three.<br/>The service was great, but the meal I ordered was terrible -<br/><br/>Roast chicken breast stuffed with feta and sun-dried<br/>tomato, served on a pumpkin and spinach risotto<br/>with jus 26.9 <br/><br/>The risotto was overcooked and the chicken breasts were very dry and tasteless as with the stuffing. The chicken had been precooked and reheated. The meal was luke warm.<br/><br/>Friends thought there meals were nice, but also luke warm.
Manic Diner
Just dined here with a friend who had been raving about Goode Brothers in Botany. She said I had to try the garlic and herb pizza bread as it is to die for so we made our way to the new Goode Brothers in New Lynn as it was closer to home. She ordered the fettucine and the garlic and herb bread and I decided to try the Goode beef burger and the tiramisu. After 12-15 minutes the food arrived. My friend promised me a garlic and herb bread which was light, puffy and lightly bubbling with cheese right out of the oven...that didn't happen. Her fettucine was warm not hot and the pasta wasn't perfect and could have used more sauce. The pattie in the beef burger was dry and flavourless and fries were over done, when I mentioned it to the waitress after the meal, she said she notified the cook who responded with "that's because we make our own patties" - was that an excuse or an explanation? The meal was disappointing and I was really hoping the tiramisu would save it but while the presentation looked great , the sponge was overly soaked which made the tiramisu slightly mushy. Also, during our meal I noticed 2 instances of staff making drinks at the bar and taking it to the room by the bar...while I know it wasn't busy..it just didn't seem professional. The serving staff though were great and attentive. I'm really hoping that there is an overall improvement especially from the kitchen (fix temperature and execution issues with meals) as I would seriously love to see more great eateries in New Lynn.

Nice place - was semi busy for a Monday night. Price of the food was reasonable. I liked the fact they had fresh basil on each table as I love basil. My partner ordered the steak sandwich which he thought was average. I ordered the prawn spaghetti which was very nice. When the waiter brought the food to the table it was still very hot and thats something that I am picky about. The bruschetta we ordered was nice but i felt it needed a little citrusy flavour added to it (personal preference). The aioli sauce was nice also but this also lacked the garlic kick which is also a huge preference for me. All in all i would eat here again.

4 of us went on Sunday for dinner and it was already busy but didn't feel cramped, it's a huge place but has a really nice atmosphere. We tried a couple of the build your own pastas and a couple of pizzas and all the food was great! Service was also fantastic, friendly and attentive; will definitely be back! <br/>

First: What was great.<br/><br/>The beer was excellent, sitting in the sun was fantastic, and the fries were excellent. <br/>I ordered the lamb and feta salad, and I thought that this was great, this was the highlight in terms of food. <br/>Service was great, really friendly!<br/><br/>What was not so great: <br/><br/>We also ordered two Margarita pizza's (one for the kids and one for us). This was a major let down. They tasted/looked a bit like one of those pizzas you get from the supermarket, and re-heat in your oven. Also, its the whole cherry tomato thing was a bit weird. <br/><br/>Finally, we got a kids pasta as well. This was okay, but for $12, the portion was a bit small. <br/><br/>All up, we paid $110 ish for 3 beers plus this food (the beer was more than $10 p/glass). I thought that this was a bit expensive, given the quality of the food, especially the pizza. We can go to Settabello (nearby) and get 2 pizzas (proper Italian style) and 2 beers for $30, which is enough for our entire family. So Goode wasn't really great value compared to other local pizza joints. <br/><br/>We will definitely return, but we'll just be ordering beer and fries me-thinks.

My friend and I went to Goode Brothers for lunch the other day.  We were initially impressed with the menu particularly the salad selection.  However when our meals arrived that was a different story.  My lamb salad consisted mostly of spinach leaves with a sprinkling of cous cous, feta and some lamb.  My friend had the squid salad which had mostly rocket leaves and undercooked squid, zero dressing and no flavour.  Both were very unimpressive.  My daughter also went to the restaurant a few days before and wasn't impressed either.  The kitchen is going to have to seriously lift its game if its going to survive!

Thank goodness, West Auckland is coming of age and we don't have to rely on the lousy, no variety, "West Auckland Trust" restaurants anymore! The Brickworks at New Lynn Mall looks great! This was our first visit there and first time at a Goode Bros. The atmosphere and layout was very cool, although it became a bit chilly when sun went down (and we were inside). Hats off to those in the kitchen! Food was fantastic, great flavours and plenty of choices on the menu. Only real let down was the service. We sat for about 10-12 mins before anybody even acknowledged us and took our drink order. Place was busy and food came fast. Had an entree, 2 mains and a drink each, for just under $100. There was no request to order a second drink, even though we had been near empty for a bit and just chatting, so we left. Paying was a weird affair. There was no interaction from the person at the counter as they barely looked up and seemed to be more interested in making notes on a piece of paper, while we stood at the counter wondering when we were going to be handed our receipt. In the end I had to ask for it, and walked out mildly annoyed and under appreciated as a customer. I'm putting it down to the restaurant being very new and perhaps lack of customer service training. All in all, not bad but definitely room for improvement. Looking forward to trying the other Brickworks restaurants to see how they compare.

This place among others are a very nice addition to New Lynn. I liked coming here. It did not feel like I was in New Lynn at all. Customer service was good and it was quite busy. Understandable tho being new and stuff. I was happy with my order and so were my friends. Definitely should come around here if around the New Lynn area.

Went late Sunday afternoon for dinner and a drink. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and the food was good too. <br/><br/>We were overcharged for a beer but once the mistake was realized staff were happy to rectify. <br/><br/>Would definitely go again!

Great location to sit outside on day like today. Fantastic kids menu - my son had fish n chips which was hot and fresh even had a salad that mummy had. Pizza was nice but would have been better if hot. Staff were very apologetic when complained and adjusted bill according. Due to this and just opening we will be back to try again.
