As Cantonese myself, I could not be happier to find out about this restaurant. It's tucked into the side of a furniture shop with minimal decor which reminds me of sitting at a market restaurant having supper in the middle of Guangzhou. The clay pot rice is to die for, I'm not sure if I could find better even in guangzhou. You can tell that the chef has years of experience cooking authentic Cantonese cuisine. So, I highly recommend this restaurant for those who can see past the decor and focus on good old fashioned authentic Cantonese food.

This place has the best dumpling around. Iv been here a few times and the food is alway delicious. Service is lovely and welcoming and you get a free soup too. Their lunch special of bbq on rice is super great value. The chef here puts love on his food.

Although the entrance may not be visually appealing, don't judge the book by its cover. The restaurant offers a wide array of delicious food at great value prices. This coupled with the clean premises and friendly staff means I will undoubtedly be coming back!

Place can cater for big crowd or party of two. Good food with dishes mainly from Southern China style.

Have been here on serveral occasions for lunch and dinner.
The place was normal but spacious. Service was friendly andattenttive. The food was pretty good and the servings wereof reasonable good size. No parking problem. Recommended if you are looling for some reasonably good Chinese/Asian food.

You would not expect there to be a restaurant tucked away beside a furniture store but if you venture you will discover: Manor. Expect relaxed dining and nothing too fancy as the outdoor seatinf is under a conservatory which has all sorts; plants, gazebos, it’s also used as storage for things etc
BUT the food is amazing, crispy pork, bbq pork, duck, beans, noodles, sizzling plates of goodness. Will be back for more!

For me this place is one of the worst Chinese restaurant in town. Been there on a Sunday lunch the food taste so bland and not delicious at all even my son who is not a picky eater won’t eat.

Place was newly opened when I tried. Still need much improvement especially on food taste. Not well seasoned and doesn't taste like chinese cuisine. Maybe I will try again. Should I? Nah! :)

Ate here on Father's Day. Absolute shambles. Predictably, it was a busy night but there were only three front of house staff working. Two older ladies, one of whom was permanently perched around the cash register, and one younger lady. Waited twenty minutes to get the attention of one of the older ladies, the only staff member who could write down our order, as the younger one was either unable or unwilling. To our surprise, the waitress couldn't write down our order in Chinese, and asked my partner and I to write down our dishes for her!

That was pretty much the last we saw of her for the next 45 minutes. We observed for 45 minutes her pacing around trying to manage the entire restaurant on her own. Where were the other two? Why weren't there more staff? What kind of restaurant has this level of poor human resource planning?

We complained after 45 minutes of waiting for our food. It was pretty evident they were lacking staff in the kitchen, too, as the food came out slow for everyone. When we complained, the cash register lady asked if we had ordered! We were incredulous, how could she justify making us wait 45 minutes to just order!? We kindly pointed out that we had ordered, and we would like our food, or we would take our business elsewhere.

15 minutes later, our food miraculously arrived. The fish was disappointing, it reeked of being hastily defrosted and cooked. The other three dishes were average at best.

Overall, one of the worse levels of service I have ever received in my life - and it is an easy fix, too, guys! Just hire more staff and the entire process would be a lot smoother. The next step would be to educate your staff, they should all know how to write up orders and not ask the customer to write it down for them!

Let me know if these points are ever addressed. Until then, I will not be repeating my business here.

I have nothing to fault, I don't care that the premises are hard to find because I like that it's not crowded. Staff are very kind and helpful. Free soup and tea on arrival which is a nice touch. We had the salty eggplant dish with rice and the salty squid. I have never wanted to go back to a restaurant as quickly as I do right now! The best dishes I have ever tasted in a very long time! My mother had the duck and noodle soup which she says she always goes back to. No doubt we will be back too!

Fantastic food!!! Very authentic and delicious!! Highly recommended 😁🙌 if you are craving Cantonese cuisine then this is the place to go! The ladies are very friendly and you get free soup and tea which is a bonus! Also the potion sizes are very generous! Food came out in good time, it’s just ashen they are hidden, it was quiet but I guess it was a Monday night 😅 anyway 10/10

A bit hard to find - that would be a big reason this place isn't that busy. Food is authentic and portions are large. Staff are lovely and friendly. The Peking duck was one the best I've had - tasty duck and thin pancakes. Will definitely come again with a larger group. I would recommend the owners play some music to up the ambience!

As Cantonese myself, I can say this place has saved me a lot of airfare flying home just so I can get a taste of authentic Cantonese food. For those who don't think the food is nice, I'll suggest going to this restaurant with someone who knows and appreciates the cuisine, but more importantly knows how to order the right dish. I strongly recommend the clay pot rice series, my favorite is the pork spareribs. Other dishes are generous in portion and authentic in taste, a little fine tuning to be done, but same goes to any other restaurants, theres always room for improvement. It's not the easiest location to be found and popularity is still low, so some menu items may not be always available. So, give this place a chance because they do some amazing things there that are hard to find anywhere else.

I first stopped here to get some takeaways and decided on the soy chicken which was hanging up in the cabinet as I didn't need to wait. The atmosphere was quirky and inviting, the staff were friendly and the chicken was delicious. I decided to come back with my family as it's ready walking distance. The best dishes we got were the half duck, which was easily the most tender and delicious we have had in Auckland, and the fried aubergine stuffed with shrimp paste which someone has taken a picture of already. Will be coming back often.
Had a lunch there with some family. We ordered from the dinner menu. Food was very good and reasonably priced for the portions. This is very much a hole in the wall type place with a small frontage and a larger dining area behind. A nice local eatery.

Hi quality southern Chinese food, good serving sizes, authentic not too flashy ambience, friendly and welcoming staff. Prices reflect the quality and presentation.

Highly disappointed in this place. I live in the ambrico place so access to this place is very easy. When we first heard about this place I was so excited cause FOOD and was hoping it’ll be my go-to eat place. However the first experience will always be the make it or break it moment and I’m sad to say it was so bad. Customer service was average they weren’t very welcoming but that would have been fine if the food was great. But!!!! The fried rice I ordered had Hair in it! It wasn’t even a strand but a small clamp and this other dish I ordered (can’t remember what it was called but it was a soup base dish) turned out to be just cucumbers in fish sauce and I know I ordered a soup dish since the name had “soup” in it. Can’t say I’ll be going back there anytime soon.

The restaurant is very original, with outdoor floral views. Not the usual Chinese restaurant you can get when dining out. Food was great especially for its price, five dishes for just over $100. Place is newly opened and still quite quiet which is good for a peaceful dinner. A small downside is that there aren’t a lot of parking in front of the store, but you can park a little further over, less than a minute walk, and there’s no entertainment like music or tv. Though these little peeves aren’t a major problem👌👌
