Review Settebello - New Lynn

Vipul Jotania
This place has a very nice ambience, seating indoor and outside! The service is super sweet and does everything to make you feel welcome. The place is very aesthetically pleasing too. Food was outstanding. Authentic Italian taste. Portion are very good and big. Settebello can be suggested blindly to vegetarians as they have lots of vegetarian options on the menu. Drinks are nice. Very kind, lovely and helpful staff. Very quick and upto the mark service. Ample amount of parking space available.

Delicious pizza and great service! Such a nice atmosphere - and you really feel transported overseas. Great attention to detail down to the nice glasses and trays that are used here. I would recommend booking a table as it does get quite busy here. The salad with the artichokes and the garlic bread are a must try.

Amazing - you simply couldn't design a pizza more perfectly suited to my tastes than the Vulcano Calzone. We tried ordering delivery from this place after Sal's kept messing up our orders, and it's so far head and shoulders above the competition. Every order we have placed has arrived perfectly. The pizzas are magnificent. Almost every pizza I've had from here has been a contender for best pizza I've ever eaten. I also love the hazelnut dessert pizza/fried dough.

Great place, friendly staff, good food. Our lovely waitress Monique was so welcoming and helpful. There are vegan options, I ordered a vegetarian pizza with no cheese (bases are vegan). No gluten free pizza available yet but I think that option is coming soon so give them a call if you're GF. Can't wait to return sometime soon šŸ˜šŸ•

Best wood fired pizza in Auckland. These guys have been around for many years and it's easy to see why. Great food and great service.
Adrian Jones
Yum yum šŸ˜‹ just can't get enough of this delicious food and good service I'll definitely be back great atmosphere and you can tell when a chef takes pride in what he cooks just like what I had in Italy
Irma Ravagli
Great selection of authentic Italian pizza. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Naz Frusciante
We have started going to this restaurant for pur takeout pizza. It is extremely yummy. I would like to see a chicken pizza option though for those who don't eat other meats. The salads are so good too! For a taste of real Italian in West Ak. Visit soon.

Settebello is one of the most Authentic Neapolitan style pizzerias within Auckland. Don't let the location/building put you off finding this wee gem and trying their amazing pizzas. Make sure to book a table and dine in for the freshest pizzas and enjoy the wide range of options available. As a keen Pizza enthusiast I will definitely be trying some of their dough which you can purchase to try at home.
Mary Chapman
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PIZZA IN AUCKLANDā€¦. I know I might seem shouty shouty with capsā€¦. But I mean to be! The food the service and the atmosphere is šŸ’Æ authentic ā¤ļø THANK YOU for always looking after me and my guests ā¤ļø

Itā€™s a lovely place and we ordered a pizza and gnocchi. They were both delicious!! <br/>Then we also ordered tiramisu. It wasnā€™t as great as the mains but still not bad. <br/>Do recommend this place :))

Such a cute, authentic spot on the corner. It had such a great atmosphere, small dinning space but cozy. The woodfire base was perfectly cooked. We had the Carne (Meatlovers) and the Margherita Doc. The Carne had alot of mixed meat but it was the simipler flavours like the buffalo cheese that made this Magherita pizza so tasty. Chips came with it and was also so crunchy. Service was also excellent. Great date spot!

We came on Friday at 8pm. There were no tables available and minimum wait was 45 minutes so if you want to dine in book in advance. The atmosphere looked good however. We got one prosciutto pizza and gnocchi pesto pasta. Pizza base was good, fresh cherry tomato and rocket was refreshing but prosciutto was very salty and bad quality. The pasta dish tasted like it was overcooked, the frozen, microwaved and then grilled. Pesto tasted cheap and pasta was way overdone. Mozzarella was good though so well done there. Overall not so sure, but will give it another try if we can get a table. This place has potential and authenticity but needs a little work.

Amazing food and excellent service. This is my new favourite place. I wish I had of tried it sooner!

This has got to be the baddest pizza in the whole history of earth. The dessert was amazing. I love you

This is the best Italian I've had in my life!<br/>Cute little place, friendly staff, melt in your mouth gnocchi and best woodfired pizzas ever!<br/>Thanks for a wonderful birthday meal
Chan Can Eat
This pizza is sooooooooooo good!<br/>The margherita & 4 cheese are my faves. The bases here are the best.... thin and crispy where they need to be yet soft and delicious.
Holly Grey
My partner and I ordered the margherita and pesto bread. 2nd time we have been here but this time it was dine in and second time around the food was again, stunning. Beautifully made, flavours were simple, fresh yet delicious and the pizza was as authentic as you can get it. Also amazing and impeccable service by the two ladies - so lovely and quick on their feet.

Awesome food, ambience and service. Definitely worth the visit! We ordered the Diego Armando Settebello pizza and a Gnocci as well as their Tiramisu.Though I have not been to Italy, I dare say the food was authentic. Im so pleased that I got to try this restaurant. I would most definitely be recommending this place to friends. Total price was $50 for the 3 items. And leftovers for breakfast<br/>too!

The pizzas are by far the best Iā€™ve had in Auckland. Iā€™m always on the lookout for authentic pizzerias, and was glad I found Settebello. Francescoā€™s passion for his pizzas and Italian food in general are visible from the restaurant decor, elaborate menu, and the big wood oven. I was keen to try the Tiramisu but that is for next time. 5 stars.

Best Italian pizza in West Auckland and right up there in wider Auckland. Perfect crust and excellent toppings. Wish it wasnā€™t so far from my house.
Sam Diprose
Came here last Wednesday with a group of friends. Service was great with them moving tables together for us (we hadnā€™t made a reservation). Service was so great and the food was incrediBle! I absolutely loved it and for the price I think this will be my new go to

Got Margherita Affumicata Pizza and Gnocchi Pesto E Ricotta. The pizza was good but I really enjoyed the Gnocchi. The setup is very casual and cozy. Gives you a nice, neighborhoodly vibe. Highly recommend checking it out regardless of where you live on Auckland.

Went on a Tuesday night and booked just incase as they have special deals. <br/><br/>The restaurant was small but surprisingly not too busy which was good. The service was super friendly and not overbearing. <br/><br/>Between 3 of us we ordered the pesto and ricotta gnocchi, 4 cheese gnocchi and the funghi pizza. <br/><br/>Loved the base of the pizza, super light and the whole pizza felt fresh. The base did end up getting soggy later on with the tomato ā€œpasteā€. The gnocchi with pesto was really good and super filling. The gnocchi 4 cheeses had a really pungent cheese which overpowered the dish in my opinion, but if you like the taste of blue cheese/strong cheese youā€™d enjoy this one. The gnocchi for both dishes was soft and pillowy.<br/><br/>The pasta are a real good size and I would def share them as they would get very sickening. <br/><br/>Overall it was a decent meal, wouldnā€™t mind coming back. I would rate it slightly higher than a 3 but not a 3.5
Olivia Shelton
I do love this place but they don't cook their pizzas for long enough! Last time I ordered over the phone and asked for the pizzas to be well cooked and they said yes sure that's fine. The lady then told me they would be ready in ten minutes...I thought oh god here we go again. When we got them home they were very floppy and undercooked. We had to cook them in our oven to crispen them up a bit. This place is nice, don't get me wrong, love their flavours and authenticity, but they need to understand that customers don't mind waiting an extra 5-10 mins for a sufficiently cooked pizza!
Miss Monkey
Best pizza in Auckland. Doughs are fermented very well, gives you no bloating after. Love going there - love their cozy local set up, staff are friendly. Nutella thingy dessert is full on but so good šŸ˜†
Razvan Gradinaru
Really nice & little place - l like it as reminds me about Italy. Place set up is unique italians small & simple but l found the food amazingly tasty and fresh. Toilet is very clean too which got them the 5 rate.
Andrea Capri
Great tasting authentic pizza with friendly service.<br/>Absolutely loved the base and crust šŸ˜€<br/>Attenzione italiani, questa ĆØ la prima pizza che ho mangiato in Nuova Zelanda che era buona, autentica e conveniente.<br/>RitornerĆ² volentieri.
Courtney Jenkins
This place is our new found favorite pizza place! Our first night we ordered takeaway and the staff were so lovely the food was sooooo incredible we came back the second night to order the EXACT SAME THING. We now have an obsession and have been recommending it to everyone.
Fiona Hedley
Proper Napoli pizza. I had the Settebello which was delicious! We dined in on a Wednesday night, not too busy but good atmosphere. Great place for a casual dinner. Good wine selection too.
Andrean
We came last Saturday and the place was packed with Italian. We knew straight away that we had come to the right place for authentic Italian pizza.<br/>The pizza is so simple, only 3-4 toppings but the flavour is bang on. They let the fresh ingredients to shine.<br/>We love it and will definitely come back!
Georgia B
Just went here tonight and I have found my favourite place for pizza.<br/>I love Italian food and never tried wood fire pizza, absolutely delicious. You can taste the authentic ingredients and it is made with love. <br/>I am definitely coming back here for more. šŸ™‚

Amazing experience at settebello! Pizza was beautiful, I've never had an authentic Italian pizza but would imagine that this would be it. Went on a Tuesday night where they have most of the pizzas for $15 and there is so many to choose from. I had the carne, heaps of toppings all so flavoursome and worked so well together. The waitress was also really lovely. Would definitely recommend and will be back again

Heard about this place so finally got around to going there. Got a ā€œClassicoā€ Calzone & a tiramisu. Everything was delicious. Service was super friendly & I was just getting my food to takeaway. The place was packed & this was on a Thursday evening. Will definitely be back. The rest of the menu looks too good to ignore.

This place does amazing Gnocchi and wood fired Pizza. Iā€™ve had takeaway from them many times and itā€™s always been perfect. With that as a track record for a good eatery our west I but took a friend from the inner city here for a sit down meal. We hadnā€™t booked and I would recommend to ensure you do. Despite it being early they were almost fully booked and we got the very last table. The ambiance was homely and authentic, the service fast and friendly. The food was perfect as always and my inner city friend and I are planning to return again to work our way through that lovely and diverse pizza menu! Pizza or pasta they always nail it. Highly recommend!
Michelle Ma Belle
It is always good to find wood fire pizza. This place does authentic thin-based pizzas that were perfectly crispy toward the edge, and softer towards the centre. They were pretty generous when the amount of cheese they put on the pizzas. I strongly recommend the 4 cheese pizza and the one with roast chicken and baked potatoes. The fennel sausages were gorgeous too. Truly a pizza loverā€™s heaven. <br/><br/>It was a shame that when we visited their deep fryer broke down, which meant we could not order the fried dough with Nutella for desserts, which is apparently amazing :(<br/><br/>Service was efficient. The place was small but had a warm, homey ambience.<br/><br/>We drive all the way to the West just to try these pizzas, and we were not disappointed :)
Mattia9405
If you want to try a real Italian pizza this is the right place, good price to be in nz and for the quality of the foods it could be considered even cheap.<br/>Even the others plates are so good; now is the third time that I went there and itā€™s always been fantastic
Local Grams-ma
I've always passed by this restaurant, always looking from afar and not in, that is until last night. And must I say, it was simply amazing with the quality and price. I had order the Fungi Pizza and it was heavenly, if only I didn't have pieces of the Cheega Bread at the start, I would have finished the whole pizza! The crust was perfectly crisp and the depth was perfect, and with the pizza itself it was a decent-size and the flavours combined matched so well. My partner and I adore this restaurant even more so now, with the amazing staff, service, decor and atmosphere, it's impossible not to love them. This is definitely a place we would come back to and recommend to other foodies too.
Mercypatch
Small and cosy little restaurant with friendly staff. Probably seats no more than 40 people, nice. Specials on Tuesdays with $14.00 pizzas, great value with a large pizza for that price. Ordered the Melano pizza, really tasty. Wouldn't order the garlic bread again, no taste and was really burnt. Cheap and cosy night out.
Mihee Park
I love their pasta!!! The taste was exactly I wanted!! I miss the taste already. Pizza was okay but not very special. I want to try other pizza next time!
Georgia Vossen
Really like this spot! I'm not usually the biggest fan of eating out at Italian places as I always found them kinda over rated. This place changed my mind! <br/>Good selection of dishes on the menus, I tasted a couple dishes and they were delicious. <br/>Quite a small restaurant so if you are wanting to come I would encourage you to book. It's nice and cosy though, prices are worth for what you get and how yummy the food is, fairly average priced anyway. Very nice friendly staff.<br/>I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely come again!

Ambience-2/5<br/>Food-3/5<br/>Service-3/5<br/>Pizza was alright. Not that great. Would recommend other options in the menu. Quick service. The ambience can definitely be improved.

Who else has been to their place ordering take away pizza but hasn't stayed for a meal? Ā If so, you should definitely try it. Ā Especially during these winter nights, the huge woodfire oven will not only keep your body warm, but your tummy full as well. Ā The owner put the essence of Ā the Italian heritage into the food and you can taste it for sure. Ā I only tasted their pizzas from the menu, will rate this restaurant again after tasting other dishes.
Tapita
Bad undercooked pizza, mozerella wasnt even melted and it was sparse. i hope you had a bad night and that this isnt usual because i use to love your pizza! Truthfully though we wont be back to give it a second chance. Such a pity.
CarlyB
Delicious! Can't recommend this place enough. Authentic Italian pizzas made well with high quality ingredients. Best pizza I have ever tasted outside of Europe. Very happy to have this as a local :-)

Pizza was delicious!! Staff are lovely!! Music was lovely, over all great experience! Very welcoming place! Awesome!! <br/>Will be coming here again with the family.
Johnny
Great authentic Italian pizza and pasta. Great to have this kind of thing out west auckland. Have been there multiple times and never had a bad experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for this kind of food

Came here on Saturday night for the second time. I love their menu, it includes a range of delicious pizzas and gnocchi dishes. I shared the salami pizza and tomato gnocchi which were so filling. Also byo wine which is always nice šŸ˜œ I love the vibe and the Italian music they play, very nice set up and lovely staff!
Anu
I apologise that I don't picture for the full pizza. It looked so mouthwatering that I actually forgot to take a picture :( <br/><br/>Now I enjoyed the actual Italian woodfired Pizza:) I would have given high rating for food BUT<br/>only downside is that there is not plenty of seating space. We were advised that there is a booking in an hour or so, meaning we will need to leave when they arrive. <br/>

Mama mia..if he had allowed me to I would have kissed the chef..lasagna so simple so full of loove..pizzas so simple yet imbued with flavors, hearty, wholesome flavors. I would rate these flavors truly amongst the most authentic in Auckland. An those beers...good value. Beautiful, beautiful food.
Holly Shaw-Fowles
Great service and fantastic Pizzas! The Pizzas were well made and cooked to perfection. The service was quick and they were happy to fill your wine glass as many times as you liked!

Authentic Italian pizza, I'm so glad I found out about this place! I read about it on the Urban List and the owner is from Naples himself.Ā <br/><br/>I love my pizza simple, with fresh, high quality ingredients. I ordered the Margherita which was AMAZING. Thin base, delicious marinara sauce, buffalo mozzarella, basil leaves then cooked in the wood fired oven (they use manuka wood which also gives it a unique taste). The pizza dough is proved for 20 hours plus to develop maturity so the base is nice and light and I didn't feel bloated after.Ā <br/><br/>Service was top notch, the young lady even offered to come out and bring my takeaway pizza to my car.Ā <br/><br/>I will definately be a regular customer now!!Ā <br/><br/>Although I've read prior reviews and they apparently have a $15 pizza + peroni special before 6.30pm, I didn't see this anywhere on the menu and was not notified despite having ordered before 6.30, perhaps I'll ask next time what the specials are.
Shreena Narsey
Can I just say, "YUM"! My husband and I found this restaurant in the Metro Cheap Eats 100 list and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Margherita Affumicata, a buffalo and smoked mozzarella pizza and it was very tasty. The first bite tastes a bit salty but as you continue to chew the flavors burst in your mouth. Can't wait to come back and try the other flavors!
Nathalie
What a gem! Really lovely and authentic Italian place in New Lynn. First impression of the restaurant it's very old and it is position in a very odd place. But once you get inside the place is small, lovely and cosy! Service was excellent and the food "amazing" beats all the Italian resto in city! Honest flavours and outstanding pizzas. Best part is their deal $15 for pizza and beer ends at 6:30pm so get in early! portion very generous! My husband and I paid $50 for two large pizzas(very big) and lasagne (amazing) with two beers walked away happy and we will definitely be back!
Anil
This little homely restaurant is an absolute gem in New Lynn. We have dined here a couple of times and haven't been disappointed. Francesco and his team are simply wonderful and the service here is superb. The restaurant itself has wonderful decor and atmosphere with lots of parking right in front. Ā The food has to be the best. We had the capriciosa pizza and Gnocchi bolognese last night and finished off with the tiramisu. All of these dishes were absolutely wonderful and tasty and the pizza was definitely the best I have had in Auckland.
Anna Mac
We decided to try this place for some takeaway. We ordered two pizzas and some garlic bread which were ready in the 10-15 as promised. Fresh tasty ingredients, thin crust, wood fired pizzas. What we ordered would happily feed three. They had cheap midweek offers too. Can't wait to go back!
Natasha M
Dream pizza! This is the voice of loyalty here, but hard to think of another pie (at least in Auckland) that compares. Lovely service even when things get a bit frenetic; a good family place; very tolerant of our resident tiny person mashing tomato sauce into the high chair and banging about.<br/><br/>But you're here for the pizza, and it's truly something to write home about. Those nutella doughnut things they have for dessert (the ones with lots of 'zz' in the name) are also worth cheating on your diet for.
Angela Kay Street
Hands down the best Pizza in New Zealand! I dine out regularly and have tried every pizza under the sun. I cannot resist eating at Sette Bello at least once a week, the ambience and the service all down to earth and inviting.<br/>In addition to this the priority for Francesco is always the customer.<br/>Thanks for your incredible food, I really appreciate the love that goes into all of your creations!!
Couple Of Cheap Westies
Went here with my partner as I am a huuuuge pizza fan and this place had amazing reviews. It's not exactly ideal for massive gatherings but suitable for small groups maybe up to about 8 comfortably. We ordered the garlic pizza bread which was amazing and came out very fast but our next two pizzas were not as fast. Thankfully the music was good and the environment wasn't too busy or loud, being such a small restaurant. The pizzas we ordered ended up being super massive and could easily feed 2-3 between 1 pizza, making it a cheap night. Eventually when they did come to the table they met the expectations - genuine Italian Woodfire pizza with authentic ingredients! A must try to any pizza lovers!!! We'll be back!
Matty O
Straight up the best pizzas in NZ. Nothing more say šŸ‘blah blah blah.
Levi & Ana
Best pizza I have ever had in my life freshest most authentic pizza ever. So good that I'll never eat another pizza again, pasta was sensational , service was sensational, so good i downloaded this app just to write this review. You know it's good when you leave with a smile. Only constructive criticism I have for them is they need more tables so more people can experience this pure Italiano greatness... ; )
Carol
We went there for my birthday dinner. Amazing pizza! I had the one with prosciutto. Really tasty with fresh ingredients n awesome flavours. Highly recommend and good service.
Jemima Duck
I would say the best pizza in Auckland, if not NZ. Tastes like the real thing, fantastic ingredients (love the truffle oil) and amazing flavours. If you like true Italian Pizza then this is the place for you.
Jayden Campbell
Came here with my fiance for our 'cheat day' and it was one of the greatest cheats I've ever done. The service was welcoming and the prices were phenomenal (Two pizzas + 2 drinks for $30!). Our pizzas arrived very quickly and the flavor was sublime. We could tell the ingredients were high quality from the first bite, the flavors were intense and the mozzarella was very stringy. This is definitely a hidden gem, can't wait to be back.
Aucklandeats
Dined here tonight and so glad I found this gem in New Lynn. <br/><br/>The restaurant is small with a cozy ambiance. We went in around 9 pm on Saturday and there was just one table occupied. <br/><br/>The service was friendly. We got a pollo pizza and the veggie pizza. From where we sat, we could see the pizzas being cooked in their wood fired oven. They were served quickly and OMG so good!<br/><br/>Thin crust perfectly cooked with a few charred bits gave it an amazing rustic taste. The veggie had loads of toppings of capsicum, red onions, zucchini and artichokes. It had the right amount of sauce and mozzarella. The chicken pizza had olives, red onions, capsicum and lots of chicken pieces.<br/><br/>The pizzas were big and we only managed eating half. Breakfast tomorrow is going to be awesome. <br/><br/>I can see myself being a regular at this place. <br/>
Aneeka Nand
Delicious food, awesome service and the homemade tiramisu is to die for! We ordered a pizza a pasta each for mains. We loved that the restaurant was playing funky Italian music when we arrived, and that all of the customers were Italian themselves. Everything on the menu is affordable and this will be one of our new local spots.
Rachael Fullerton
Best pizza place in Auckland! From the outside it doesn't look like much and it's in a bit of an odd spot, but after driving past all the time, we decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did, pizza is amazing, staff and the owners are so lovely and welcoming and the homemade tiramisu is my new favourite dessert!
Husain Al-Badry
Great Pizza and atmosphere in this diner. Highly recommended. Make sure you try the Margarita DOC pizza, its their signature dish and tastes amazing.
Amy M
After all the great reviews we were excited to try Settebello. We enjoyed our wood fired pizza but were disappointed with the starter of garlic bread, it was over cooked & dry with no taste of garlic. See photo below. Willing to try again & hoping for a better experience next time.
Wine & Dine
Having traveled the world there is no substitute for authenticity. I have worked and ate (possibly more than I should have) in Italy. Settebellos' pizza takes me back to a glorious moment in my travels. There is just something about Italians and Italian food that is magical. They focus on details and simplicity. As far as I am concerned we are dam lucky to have Settebello in our community. Gracie

We visited here after reading that the owner, Francesco Acri has been crowned the 2015 winner in the New Zealand Pizza Championship. Even though we eat out in New Lynn occasionally as it's local, we never really noticed this little pizza place before and probably would have never visited otherwise. However, it was a great little find! It's small and basic inside, but the service friendly and the main event - the pizza was fantastic! We arrived just after it opened at 5pm and it quickly got busy with people ordering takeaways. Our pizza took a bit of time to arrive (about 40mins I think) but it was worth it, and I enjoyed the house red wine while we were waiting. We didn't take advantage of the "Pizza and Peroni" for $15 deal on selected pizzas between 5pm and 6:30pm (we fancied different pizzas and wine this time) but it sounds like a bargain!
Michael Lentini
Being of Italian heritage i am fuss when it comes to pizza. In my view most authentic and the best Italian pizza in Auckland. Try the Milano tasty and tomato sauce and pizza dough are to die for.
Jade Haere
Have had dinner here once. Atmosphere is ok. Service amazing. Food was good. I am not much of a pizza fan but the other half is and he enjoyed the wood fire pizza. I on the other hand thought the dessert was lovely. Such a shame where Stellobella is located I think it really lets this place down.
Dallace Wulf
The best pizza in West Auckland. Lovely smokey flavour that comes off the base (I suppose this is because it's cooked in a woodfire oven). The chicken pizza is the favourite here. Defiantly recommend to try out
Brazilian Cafe
Do you wanna a real pizza? This is the place! My husband is Italian and introduced me and kids to Settebello! Nice wnies, beers and the pizza is great! Staff is very welcoming and price wise is perfect.<br/>I wish you could be closer to us, in Albany, but the trip is always worthy! Thank you!
Joe
Loved this place. Small and cosy dine in area. Friendly staff. Delicious Italian style pizza. Super yum tiramisu and deep fried polenta topped with Nutella :) <br/><br/>Was $60 for the two of us including dessert.
Keith Eades
We were the first of our group to arrive. Whilst waiting could not help hearing that most of the others diners were chatting away in Italian. To me this was a good sign that we had made the choice to come here although it took about an hour to drive here.<br/><br/>I had the Porcini, the others had Carne, Calzone Quattro Formaggi, Vespucci, and finally the Veggie. All diners in our agreed how much they enjoyed their pizza. Myself and another had to take the remainder home as we were too full to finish.<br/><br/>During our meal there was a constant stream of people collecting their takeaways. I noticed that most people had 5 or 6 pizzas. Most of the customers must have been regulars as the staff seemed familiar with them.<br/><br/>The decor and atmosphere was pretty basic, but who cares with lovely pizza and pasta in front of you.

Last night I went back to Settebello looking forward to what I considered to be the best pizza in Auckland... Although the dough was delicious as usual and also the toppings were really good, especially the ricotta, unfortunately the mozzarella was not real mozzarella anymore.. It was in fact that cheap yellow already-grated melty cheese that some supermarkets call mozzarella (I'm pretty sure of it as it wasn't even completely melted in most spots!) but definitely not what a proper mozzarella even if 'per pizza' should be and definitely not the mozzarella that there was in the other pizzas I ate here in the past. I loved this place for the quality of the ingredients they used, instead they started cheating like all the other Italian restaurants in Auckland: cutting the quality and cost of ingredients and leaving the price unchanged.. I guess they think they can get away with it here. I'm not sure why they bother with the other fancy ingredients when they ruin everything using the cheapest 'mozzarella' available as a base.. It also makes me wonder if the buffalo mozzarella and ricotta described on the menu are actually made of buffalo or are simply standard fresh mozzarella and ricotta from cow milk: since kiwis think that if there's a fresh mozzarella on a pizza than it must be buffalo, then let's tell them it's buffalo..
Stuart Harper
I have had both takeaway and dine in here in the last month. Both times I had positive experiences however the 15 dollar early evening dine in was exceptional value for money. A large pizza and a bottle of Italian beer (you know the one ?) for 15 bucks! A definite winner for me. Italian owner/head chef cooks in a wood fire oven with impressive results. Well worth a visit imo.
Manic Diner
Settebello have ahhmazing woodfire pizzas..I ordered the marinara and parma pizzas to go with cheega bread and fries last Saturday and they did not disappoint. It's nice to know there's an authentic pizza joint not too far from home!
Temanea Paquier-grey
the pizza was good, nice bread and the lasagna was perfect and very tasty. Very nice and friendly service, ordered take away was perfect. thank you very glad to have an italian restaurant around here. will be back
Elizabeth
This was quite possibly the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten. Soft, smoky woodfired base, with mouthwatering toppings - we had the Napoli and the Rossa Settebello. Heavenly. The moretti beer was the perfect accompaniment, and we followed with the Tiramisu, Affogato and limoncello. Wonderful, with BYO wine, and all for a really good price.
Mireille
My favourite pizzeria in Auckland. Lovely service. The guy who makes the pizzas is actually Italian. Really friendly, remembers my order each time. I adore the margarita. My children adore the carne and prosciutto pizzas. Never ever disappointed. It's a comfort food night in for gourmets really. You could never go back to Hells after these. Delicious with red wine. And orangina in the drinks fridge!!! I haven't seen any of that since France. Love it.
Justine Turner
Stunning authentic pizzas served in a clean, friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive, and the food was superb. We had the Quattro Stagioni and the Salame, the bases were crispy, tender and light, the toppings were generous. Being licensed makes Sette Bello a good option for a relaxed dinner, we will be back often!
Chris Baldock
These guys do great woodfired pizzas - a nice change from some of the rubbish on offer from the big chains in the area. These pizzas are a regular "go-to" Friday night option for us.<br/><br/>Great service and they'll deliver to your door (if you're within a certain area and have cash).<br/><br/>I just think Settebello would do so much better if it could shift into a slightly more convenient location in the heart of New Lynn. As it stands, it isn't much of a dine in option - but hopefully this is something that will change!
Megan Jones
Love Settebello pizzas! Each one tasty and authentic. Great service too. Looking forward to my next pizza.
Quentin Welland
I am a pizza snob and I give this place the thumbs up! <br/><br/>I strongly recommend the Quattro stagioni pizza, excellet! and the Spaghetti Bolognese is very tasty. <br/><br/>Also the deep fried pizza, a newish item on the menu is totally awesome.<br/><br/>Definitely best out West!
Patricia Dalcuque
It is not everyday that you will find a delicious pizza like this! Your traditional napoletana "fried pizza" was delicious! The calzone, pizza... everything. The dough is great, but also the ingredients on toppings/fillings that makes the difference. Loved, it's absolutely worthy the trip from north shore :) soon we will be back with friends! Thank you!
Jin An
Their pizzas are the best I've had in NZ or possibly ever, the texture of the dough is to die for and it's the only pizza where I look forward to eating the crust! <br/><br/>I've never put up reviews here or anywhere but I thought it was worth the hassle of signing up and potentially exposing my email address for more spam mails to tell everyone about these pizzas. <br/><br/>Although one minor down side is that every often they run out of dough!
Glen C.
Fantastic pizza that reminded me of Al Volo (another great pizza place in Auckland). Settebello has more choices and overall I preferred their pizza (though I give Al Volo's garlic bread a slight edge). The ingredients used were amazing. So rare to find such good and obviously fresh chicken on a pizza. Unfortunately I think this place is lost in New Lynn, I really hope the community support it but from the comments I overheard from a couple of customers while I was there I think they really need to move to somewhere they'll be better appreciated for what they do. And to the the fool who has rated this place 1 star - please go back to Dominos where you'll get a hot circle of garbage for under $10 (the ingredients they use will stick to more than just the top of your pizza). For anyone else who is looking for quality pizza with quality ingredients and authentic dough then head to Settebello.

We have had Settabello's pizza three times now and are very impressed. A true wood fired pizza with fresh toppings and cooked to perfection. The dough is beautiful and the Pizzas are so delicious. The "Calzone Vulcano" is our favorite. A great pizza restaurant for pizza lovers. See you soon.

Absolutely terrible. inedible. $50 down the drain. Worst pizza I ever had. Topping slips completely off pizza, which is probably just as well as it tastes disgusting, and just left with a soggy piece of bread to chew on.

What a hidden gem. Fantastic pizza - some of the best I have had in New Zealand. I highly recommend the marinara. <br/>Italian owner, fresh ingredients, wood fired oven - It is worth the trip out West. I'm going back for sure.

Cannot believe what an awesome find this place is! Went in recently after driving past and noticing the branding and signage had been updated.....curious to try it out and so glad I did. As soon as you walk in you get a sense of how authentically Italian it is.....Best part is, the food is amazingly good! The pizza dough is the tastiest I have had....I could easily eat it on its own without toppings.<br/>The toppings are fresh and delicious and the Pizza perfectly cooked in the wood-fire oven. Will definitely be back on a regular basis. Cannot believe such an awesome Italian place exists in New Lynn.
