Our experience at the restaurant was a true delight, from the staff to the vista out to sea to the meals. The staff even bought out a little anniversary surprise in the way of a marshmallow with a candle a light in the middle and 2 caramel chocolates, it was truly delightful. The best meal and experience we have had for a while.

The meal options were all so amazing that we decided to go with the Surprise menu of 5 courses. We were not disappointed. The presentation of each course was first class, the service the same. The food was full of incredible flavours and ample portions. I can't remember when I have enjoyed a dinner menu as much as we enjoyed our evening meal at Salt. First class, thank you.

We just had the most wonderful High Tea experience at Salt and could not recommend it enough! The calibre of the food was exceptional and after having tried other High Teas in New Plymouth, I can say this was absolutely the best by far and such good value for money! It’s such a lovely setting and the staff are so friendly and hospitable - they went above and beyond to meet our needs! We’ll definitely be back!

Came super early at opening with young child who was stroppy. Waiter was amazing and single handedly made our child cheerful with a few marshmellows and a change of focus. Pancake stacks were perfect and coffee ace. Would recommend for sure! My photo did perhaps not do it justice

We bowled in on a Saturday evening without a reservation. Even though they were fully booked they managed to find a table for two. I had the lamb rump and my sister had the beef. Both were exceptionally cooked and very flavourful. The view out to sea is wonderful, and the ambience is slightly let down by the rather shabby seats and benches.

I'm doing a road trip and needed to stop. Chose to stop here. It was amazing. The day was beautiful, and we had terrific views. Came on a Sunday just after mid day. It was not busy at all.

A fine dining experience on the waterfront, great views and vibe. The staff were very professional and friendly. Ordered their duck leg and lamb,, and my goodness the duck was so juicy and tasty - if only there was a bit more! And then couldn't help but order some dessert and so glad I did - their Trio of Chocolate was.oh.so.divine!!!! Thanks for the great feeds!

Food was excellent. Entrees and mains couldn't be faulted. 1 of 4 had desert which was enjoyed. Some drinks on menu were not available. Noisy and difficult to hear at times. Waitress hovered a little bit.

The menu had only one vegetarian (main) option for lunch and one of the things we ordered came out late because they got our order wrong... HOWEVER!! I wouldn't be leaving an honest review if I didn't talk about that one vegetarian option. I have had many an onion bhaji and never have I eaten one that was as good as it was. It was amazing, the only thing I didn't do was lick the plate clean haha 😅. My partner got the chicken tacos which he loved. Everything we ate was exquisite (what's the secret ingredient!?!). Definitely recommend this place, especially on a rain day (cozy vibes!)

Dining across the road from the waterfront in New Plymouth. Excellent service, decor and atmosphere. It's recommended to reserve a table, as it can be quite busy. Kid's menu available and price is reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant if visiting New Plymouth

Great views and fantastic food. The lamb was so tender and the fish of the day was fresh and tasty. The service was good and the price was in the top range but reasonable. The decor was okay but could do with a refresh to match the wonderful location.
