Review Arborio Restaurant, Cafe & Bar - New Plymouth

Really great atmosphere for dining with soothing lighting and music. Would recommend booking in advance because it can get quite busy! Would probably suggest they downsize the portions of the risotto because they were a bit overwhelming and very salty. The tiramisu also tasted pre frozen and was quite flavourless. But other than that the food was delicious, particularly the gurnard! Best bit was definitely the staff, we were looked after incredibly well and they all seemed to take the busy night in they’re stride.

The service- was amazing, definitely not faulting that. The food- I had the chicken burger and the chicken was over cooked, the rest of the burger was quite delicious and they were generous with the sauces which was great. The Caesar salad my friend had was good. We shared the crème brûlée for dessert and although quite delicious it wasn’t set enough. The drinks- quite nice and had a very large selection

Awesome food, service is quick and efficient. This place is very popular and sometimes there may be a wait, however for us an extra table was setup.

I had the most incredible experience at this restaurant for my one-year anniversary! The staff went above and beyond by seating us at the same table as our first date, which was such a thoughtful touch. The level of hospitality was unmatched - they truly made us feel special and cared for throughout the entire meal. The attention to detail, the delicious food, and the warm ambiance created an unforgettable evening. This restaurant has set the bar extremely high for any future dining experiences. It was the best hospitality I have ever experienced. A heartfelt thank you to the team for making our anniversary so magical. Five stars without a doubt!

Just had our Xmas work do and it was such a great venue. The staff member who served us was awesome. The food was so delicious and didn't feel at all like we needed to rush our meals. Will definitely have to come back for dessert sometime soon as I was/we were all too full to fit any in this time. Thanks Arborio staff and chefs 12/11/21

Our newfavourite restaurant in New Plymouth. The food was deliciously amazing and the service was fantastic. The staff were attentive without making you feel rushed. Will definitely be back next time we are in New Plymouth.

We came to New Plymouth last night, we haven't got previous reservation but fortunately my boyfriend and I got the most lovely experience in this strongly recommended restaurant. Everything was great. Definitely we are coming back.

Went for lunch. Was absolutely delicious. The view was sublime and the service impeccable.

Food was great, atmosphere was fantastic. Nice place to take a date or your partner out, for some good pasta. Cocktails were delicious as well. Service was good to, the only thing that let it down, was no meal check.

Service was prompt and welcoming. I was seated at a table inside. There were two large tables of patrons inside which became too noisy for me. I asked if I could sit in the courtyard area with enclosed glass windows. Wasn't a problem. Not long after I sat there, another very large group arrived and sat on a table behind me. I felt constantly in the way with wait staff walking behind me through the small gap between me and the patrons sitting on the table beside me. The view of the sea was obscured by salt on the windows that needed a good clean to highlight the wonderful views. My tempura fish n chips was fresh and perfectly cooked. The salad was lacking in flavour. My recommendation by staff of the Flamingo cocktail, never arrived until after my main arrived and I ordered it well before my mains order was taken. The cocktail was delicious. A nice mix of citrus (lemon) and sweet flavours. I went back for another cocktail outside with a friend tonight. Lovely ambience inside with the Middle Eastern lanterns and decor. I was confused why the restaurant has an Italian name Arborio? As the menu is a mix of various cuisines from around the world from curries, seafood, hamburgers, pasta and salads. Highly recommend dining here but not for a romantic evening due to the large pax tables and the noise of large groups. Would recommend it for a nice meal out with the children or family and friends or work colleagues.

Creative menu with great combinations. Service with a smile, short waiting time. Beautiful views of the ocean, walkway and city. Good prices. We ordered lemonada with passionfruit pulp and mint accompanied with Vietnamese salad and mussels with white wine sauce. The dish stood out for me as fresh, aromatic and bright.

Not my first place of choice but was very pleasantly surprised .Dinner last Saturday I found atmosphere nice, service was friendly, attentive but not in your face, food different to my norm but flavours were actually yum!...9 at table with no complaints.$86 got me starter to share, mains and 2 glasses very nice wine (too full for dessert)..fair price..much better experience than anticipated.Will i go again?..Yes

The lighting is spectacular in creating a special atmosphere. I came as part of a large group with my partner. I had the chicken thigh and breast. Loved the Moroccan spice and sauce on it. Partner had the pork belly. Although there were some drink mix-ups because there were so many of us, our waitress had a great attitude, which erased any negative impact on our experience. Service is everything and we felt listened to and special. Will be back.

We came from Wellington to celebrate my partner’s birthday. Food was delicious, service was amazing! Had garlic cheese pizza bread, seafood linguini, beef eye fillet and fries. The mac and cheese croquettes was really yummy. No doubt easily the best restaurants out there in New Plymouth, will definitely come again if we are ever in Taranaki.

Fluffy and coffee date with the toddler. Friendly service from the staff and a epically cool looking fluffy! Well done team.

Just ate here for dinner and it was superb. The delightful bar manager made my a Dirty Vodka Martini and it was the best I’ve had, thanks. Do yourself a favour and have the Mussels. The soupy sauce is so delicious.( great to dip the bread in). We also shared the trio of dips - each one amazing. My husbands steak was cooked to perfection. My chicken main was just as good, but a very big serve. Thank you ladies for a great evening

Amazing service, great cocktails and the best risotto I've ever had. I definitely recommend going.
