Beautiful, flavorsome food. Steak was cooked to perfection. Banoffee pie and Snickers Cheesecake were devine. Quick efficient service and friendly staff.
It was the first time we had been to Haukai for a meal. The service was very good.
We were put by a window, which we realised wasn't double glazed, so it was quite cold. We eventually moved to another table, not so cold, but to me, the whole restaurant could've been warmer.
I had the duck breast, a first for me. It was very nice, but the choice of veges was lacking and not colourful. My husband had the fish of the day, which was snapper. We both discovered our knives were quite blunt, and had a bit of a job cutting through both the meat and the veges. I mentioned it to the waiter.
We also had dessert. I had the coconut rice pudding and hubby had the bread and butter slice. Both tasty.
Would we dine here again, yes.
Great experience. Awesome accommodation, food and staff. The staff are particularly friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend the Novotel New Plymouth for a weekend away.
This was the second time in two months that we tried Tuesday Special "Trust the Chef".
The 4 dishes were superb.Delicious fresh flavours that included ceviche,roasted duck ,lamb and the bomb dessert with chocolate gannache watermelon gelato &,peanut crumble.All the main dishes were served with mouthwatering flavours from orange to celeriac, infused leek and more.The head Chef served every dish and thoroughly explained them all.Ten out of ten.We will be back.
The lamb ovation was amazing. Compliments to the chef. Service outstanding. Lucky you run a good ship. Always a pleasure to eat at the restaurant with outstanding service.
Lunch at stylish Novotel New Plymouth with my best friend was such a pleasure! Excellent choice in matching textures and flavours! Wine matched too. It was Allan Scott Wines #pinotgris . Had to force myself from ordering the second glass! After all it was only lunch.
#myMarketingResearch had made me investigate Governors restaurant. Reinforced by two male companions we worked through the menu. Lovely music from their piano bar. Recommended starter - Japanese inspired prawns with Edamame beans and coconut broth. Best of all - smiles from our friendly waiter.
The dining staff made our visit special. Then the Chef Shabbah delighted us with his culinary skills in producing food that was so special.
We were welcomed and looked after by each staff member exceptionally well. The food was also very nice. Lovely and very special evening. Amazing staff!!7
Had the venison bacon burger which was quite bland but still enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Wasn't too busy and the location we sat at was very nice. It was Amanda's first day and she did an awesome job. Thanks for a Good Service Amanda.
We went for a Trust the Chef Tuesday 4-course meal and the food and service was fantastic. We’ll be back again!
