Review Locals Cafe - New Plymouth

It is one of the busiest cafes in New Plymouth. The menu has a good selection and prices are okay. Since it was busy, we had to literally call people to clean our table. While the service staff took the used crockery and cutlery, they had to be called again to clean the table. The cutlery we were given was not clean, but was changed instantly when requested. The staff which came to serve were friendly and served with a smile. I may be wrong, but on the day it was an all women team managing the cafe and they were good with it. Kudos 👏 The food was good and the portion size is decent. I loved the vibe of this place. It had enough seating. There are two indoor areas and two outdoor areas.

Really good. Hidden neighbourhood gem. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Good cabinet and menu selection. Busy as but they manage this well.

Hard to beat this one. Great selection of top quality freshly made food at reasonable prices. Big spacious place and very nice service.. hard to fault.

Nice local place, space inside and outside, great choice. Took away a cheese scone which was well presented and well packed, good job.

This is definitely the place to be right now. The Locals is lekker. (South African lingo for saying something is great). From the time it opened it has been an extremely popular cafe. It is always busy and bustling with happy customers and friendly staff. The food is delicious and there is a great variety of cabinet food and food from the menu. The deserts and cakes/ muffins/ slices are melt in the mouth. Today I tasted the most delectable berry cheesecake. During the week a friend ordered the mint slice and in her opinion it was the most perfect she had ever tasted. The staff are efficient, friendly and fast. The decor is simple as are the chairs and tables. It feels like being in one's own home. It is children friendly with two areas for busy, little ones. There's seating inside and outside and today's lovely weather meant there were a great many people outside. The other advantage of the Locals Cafe is the free and plentiful parking. If you visit one cafe this year make it Locals.

Very distinctive coffee shop, there is a coffee bean tree at the entrance, there have outdoor tables and chairs, the fried chicken sandwich is very beautiful and delicious, if the fried chicken is more tender, it will be more delicious

Great vibe here and the food is delicious. The cafe is quite big with plenty of space and toys for kids. Bit of confusion with our order (we had 9 plus a toddler) but the staff were really friendly and sorted everything pronto.

This is a great cafe with great customer service! It’s spacious so can hold a lot of people as well as a few out door tables for you and your dog to enjoy! As all places do they have forgotten about me once, however, was well compensated once they realised... asides from that good food for a reasonable price and portioned perfectly.

Stopped in at 2pm on a monday and got a burger and milkshake. Food and drink was quick to arrive and tasty. Nice atmosphere.

Great venue. Went here for a brunch with family was a great venue, staff were polite and professional and the food was amazing. Also, had a kids play area which our 1 year old loved. Made us as parents relax and engage in conversation with other adults.
