Amazing experience tonight!! Service was off the charts. We asked to be sat outside and we’re immediately offered blankets and had the heater turned on. Waiters made sure we had an amazing experience and the food was divine! We enjoyed the BYO aspect and the owners definitely looked after us. Ordered a second dessert it was that delicious. Would definitely recommend!!

Everything was delicious and full of flavour. Looking forward to going back to try more of their menu 🤤👌 Close to the beach too - bonus points!

Food was extremely tasty especially the freshly toasted bread. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was outstanding and made us feel at home.

Great vibe and music; owners and waiters are from Greek- very friendly! We had pizzas, pasta, bread dip, calamari rings, and drinks~ The food is decent but not as special as expected ~ would recommend ppl to try order something else~ but overall we really enjoyed our visit here ~

It was a nice exotic experience for us to have Greek dishes. Also, a short walk along the Cambells Bay beach after brunch was a bonus of the location of the El Greco. Friendly staff served our delights and took the empty plates quickly. The place is kind of too busy to stay longer. We arrived at 12.05 pm and left before half past one with 8 main dishes and 3 appitizers. Three of us ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and my daughter couldn't finish it as it is a bit big portion for her. My hubby who loves shrimps a lot was not happy with his main dish, Spaghetti Marinara, as it tastes just plain. The Grilled Octopus was my favorite among dishes we ordered at that time.

Friday night dinner booking for 10 Ordered, drinks, entry mains and dessert. Suitable for vegetarians. The vegan menu is very limited however staff are able to switch up items on request. It took 20mins for us to be seated (we booked in advance) was hard to get a staff member to take our order to start with, following this it was 45min to get our food. The manager then offered flat breads on the house, we were very hungry and got 2 flat bread for the whole table of 10. Moving forward, meals arrived together and they checked on the food after we had a chance to dig in. The food portions I felt were on the smaller side however my colleagues were happy with their portions. Overall extremely happy with what we received over all courses. The atmosphere was very busy, as expected on a Friday night. The venue feels like it needs a bit more spacing. The outside area can be cold in winter as they have a sliding door that is let open by patrons. Toilets are clean and well taken care of. Parking is limited street parking is available.

Flavoursome, fresh and absolutely worth every dollar and some. Friendly and helpful staff. Polite and kind. The Lamb Gyro and Chicken Zouvlaki were delicious beyond words! Thank you for making my 5th Wedding anniversary extra special.

We have eaten at El Greco regularly - since the opening day. There couldn't be a better place to enjoy great Greek food cooked as it should be cooked by a passionate team of chefs. Went for dinner and was created by friendly staff, had to wait a bit for dinner but they were really busy but the food was definitely worth the wait, loved it and would be going back again for sure

El Greco is an authentic Greek restaurant you really need to experience. I love El Greco because of the variety of authentic and contemporary dishes, and a range of mouth watering Italian pizza and pasta dishes. The wine list is excellent. Amazing children's menu, my kids loved it. I can't wait to get back!

We live in the Bay and tried it for the first time. I LOVE this place. Great dark Italian beers 7% (ers) food was dam great. Price wise bang on! Still only been going 3 weeks and a couple of hiccups but who gets its right in the first few weeks of trade. This is such a great find. Food menu will cater for all and you must try the Greek Red by the glass ... if yr a SHIRAZ person you will love it. 100% going back 👍

Just a few hundred metres from home we had hoped this perfectly located restaurant would be something special, and it is. The hosts and staff are a pleasure and the ambiance is always good. We go there weekly and will keep doing so. I should also mention that the food is delicious.

My boyfriend and I had a voucher so we thought it was a good opportunity to try a new restaurant! Both the pizza and the pasta were delicious - he said it was the best pasta he’d ever had! We’ll definitely be coming to dine in when restaurants reopen :)

My pasta was really good! It wasn’t too heavy but it had a lot of flavor. I will come again and try other pasta dishes 😍

A great neighbourhood eatery where everyone is greeted like they’re an old friend.<br/><br/>I have been here a couple of times and definitely recommend the penne de costa. They also do a great starter pizza bread with Parmesan and pesto.<br/><br/>Very yummy food and great portions. Highly recommend visiting here.

A warm dining experience.. the kind that leaves the tummy full and heart smiling. Honest food and an amazing host. Highly recommend trying the Greek options as there are many places for a good pasta. Their pasta is also good though.

We had a lovely dinner at El Greco. George was so friendly and accommodating. I had the chicken el Greco and my partner had the seafood salad. We finished the meal with the limoncello cheese cake and an espresso. <br/><br/>George the manager was very friendly and even recommended a nice white wine to go with my partner’s meal.

Food is amazing! Super friendly staff. The price is a little higher than what we would pay when eating out but it’s worth visiting! The baklava is the best.

El Greco damn it good man. Been here twice and had a lovely experience. The staff are super friendly and since my family and I are greek the manager also talks to us in greek and is super chatty. The food is super fresh and full of flavour. Defiently give the place a try but make a booking before going because it gets super busy. x

Came in for dinner the other night with the family and some friends. The restaurant itself is very modern and really cute. We ordered a magherita pizza to share which was alright but the cheese was a bit bitter so it wasn't very enjoyable. My sister and I shared the 'penne de costa' and it was quite good. Would like to come back and give some more items a go. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Good honest food.<br/><br/>Halloumi Cheese was great.<br/><br/>The chicken livers were exceptional.<br/><br/>The El Greco pizza bread with caramelized onion and blue cheese was delish.<br/><br/>The entrees and appetizers set the benchmark for the main....the sharing meat platter. It ended up being just “ok”. The chicken skewers were dry, but had good flavour. The sausage was really good but the Koftas were the highlight. The fries were good, but less would be best......it just needed some dolmas.<br/><br/>Worth a try.

This was my first time at this restaurant but whom I went with have been returning to this restaurant for over 10 years (when it was previously known/owned as Devino's) I have to say the staff at this restaurant really make you feel like you're back in Europe. They have a friendly warm presence as if they've known you for years. As for meals I ordered a pesto pizza bread as an entree and I ordered the seafood pasta for my main and it was delicious. Freshly made and presentation was on point. The flies outside were kind of annoying but that can't really be controlled. Would recommend and will definitely go back.

We go here often. Food is incredible, service great. A really fun place, especially sitting outside on a warm, sunny afternoon or evening. Highly recommend the breads, Souvlaki and Bistecca El Greco. I am really wanting to try the Mousakkas but I just cannot go past the Souvlaki! Their house made chilli sauce is amazing!! Be sure to book as it is so popular!

Went there for the first time today with my son. Celebrating his last exam for the year.<br/><br/>The service was great. Everyone was really friendly and always smiling. They had a new waitress today and she had a great attitude. The managers (or owners) both came over to check on us which was a nice touch.<br/><br/>The pizza was the best I've had for a a very long time. Really good base.<br/><br/>The souvlaki was really tender and full of flavour.<br/><br/>Will come back again to try the other dishes.<br/>

This place was packed for a Tuesday night. Busy and loud, the owner turned the music up which made it noisier. <br/>We ordered the sharing platter, was delicious! The home made spreads, the pork and the marinated capsicum were all delicious. This is clearly their heritage on a plate. Carry on with this!<br/>Mains were very disappointing, the table had a mix of pizza, pasta, chicken speciality and risotto. <br/>The pizzas were very meaty, generous with their toppings. The seafood risotto was bad, the scallops were over cooked and mushy, also needed loads of salt. The chicken speciality with spinach was BLAND, needed enormous amounts of salt. My vegetarian colleague ordered the vegetarian spanakopita, it was so dry and over cooked. Frozen and placed in the oven. <br/>Stick to Greek cuisine and do the Greek cuisine well, that is what will lift this restaurant to the next level.

We go to El Greco regularly as it is truly the only place I have found in Auckland that serves genuine Greek food (and their Italian menu is good too). We started with the Cheese Saganaki and the calamari (just like you get in Greece... both dishes are truly amazing and firm favourites of ours (if you like cheese, you won't believe what they do to it!).  I also really enjoyed the Lamb Vasilikis...would have loved dessert but the portions are really good.  The service and ambience just make the evening out so worthwhile.  Thanks, George and Kosta. Brilliant. HIGHLY recommend. Go once and you will return many times :)

Beautiful evening with my family! The host, food and service were excellent. The owner gave my 2 year old princess an ice cream on the house, which was very sweet of him. We will be back again for sure!

Delicious! We loved our night out here. Wonderful energetic atmosphere- very busy but service was still great. Hubby had the signature El Greco chicken- wow. I helped him eat his it was too good to stop. I ordered Spaghetti Verdura- also delicious. We will be back to try more.<br/><br/><br/><br/>

This is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible team of FOH staff and chefs. The food is incredibly good and the service is amazing. The team is on the floor and keeping an eye on everything and the owner is around a lot and always greets you when you walk in. I've tried a number of things off the menu and they have all been so good. My favourite was is the Basil and Pesto Tortellini - it was so good I ate the whole thing with no regrets but was so full afterwards - I couldn't even eat dessert (but if you do the cheesecake is so good!).<br/>Literally spent the next 20 minutes talking about how good the food is - every time. <br/>It is another one of the shores hidden gems and definitely recommend you check it out.

What a hidden gem. Loved this friendly and comfortable place. <br/>Owner/chef and his team are really on their game. Walking the floor to check on all the tables. Food outstanding. 4 of us shared the full selection of small plates and a few bottles of Vin Alto Red. Would be great to see more sharing plates added to the menu. Highly recommended. What a lovely positive atmosphere! Came here for Mother’s Day and got wine and a platter to share. Plenty of food for a very reasonable price. Ate probably the most delicious dip I’ve ever eaten which apparently was “aubergine and love”. Could do with slightly more ambience and mains looked a bit pricey. Would definitely return

Beautiful food, nice atmosphere, great service.  A good menu that is well priced, the portions are generous and tasty.  The owner is very friendly, with efficient waiting staff who make you feel like a valued customer.

Went last night for dinner. i had the scallops, El Greco Chicken and the Baklava. Other dishes that were ordered were Calamari entree and the Moussaka. All meals were really good and tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only minor thing was the vegetable with main main needed to be strained a touch longer as the water ended up mixing with the sauce of the main. The sauce is amazing with the el greco chicken. All in all i would have no hesitation to come back and recommend this place. Its about time the bays got a restaurant like this.

Very nice food.  Love the home-made Taramasalata and they do a great Eye Fillet steak with mushroom sauce.  Meals are a good size.  Can be VERY busy most nights so you need to be patient.  Have had 3 or 4 enjoyable meals here.

Discovered by chance! On the way home ... friendly authentic delicious El Greco - Italiano, with a menu that reflects this amalgamate of cuisine ... highly recommended.

Delicious quality food, superb service, attention to detail and very lovely management. <br/><br/>We usually go to Campbell’s bay for a swim and last week, while passing by we decided to check this place out, we were welcomed and happily seated as well as the manager personally came to greet us (amidst managing a jam packed restaurant!). Waiters and waitresses were very hospitable and attentive. <br/><br/>El Greco is highly recommended for it delicious authentic food, great ambience !! We will definitely go there again :)

Having seen the sign for a few weeks while driving up beach road it was finally time to give this restaurant a try.<br/><br/>We booked (thankfully) a table for 19:30 on a Friday night. When we arrived we weren't sure there was going to be anywhere for us to sit. Our table wasn't available yet so they made a plan and got us seated temporarily. More and more people continued to arrive...<br/><br/>We were seated at our booked table now and the excellent service continued. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were very attentive but not in a pestering way. The young lady who served us (head waitress) was brilliant!<br/><br/>We eagerly ordered our food and waited in anticipation for its arrival, watching as others food went out and was devoured by other patrons. Food arrived (it was busy so a bit of a wait) but WELL worth the wait. Excellent food, great flavour, perfect portion sizes. Good wholesome cooking. Various dishes were ordered and the scallops are a must!<br/><br/>Came to desert and most of us were full but one member of our party had the baklava and let us all try some... OH MY WORD... I don't even eat baklava and I would happily have this one again, amazing.<br/><br/>Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening, great food, excellent service, well worth a visit.

Popped in a few weeks ago almost by accident. We were cruising past and spotted a Greek sign. Just had to stop in.<br/>The restaurant is owned by Kostas who own's divinos on shakespeare road. This is more Greek meditarian.<br/>We had a selection of the starters and decided on the chicken slouvaki Was so tasty and so much food. We can't wait to go back again and try the other food on the menu.
