Delicious pizza, friendly service, casual atmosphere & what a view! We had the crudo & a few pizzas which were all fresh & tasty. Easy to book, comfortable with a toddler & a great walk on the sand afterwards to work it off.

Amazing location, great food and friendly staff. All the pizzas were delicious, and the baked cheese is a must try. Book ahead if you are coming here during a holiday or weekend as this place gets busy!

I love this restaurant!!! Something for everyone. We came up from the beach to relax and have a drink while my daughter still played where we could see her until her kai was ready The pizza was delicious. And I was so super pleasantly surprised by the bistro food, it is delicious, top quality, fresh produce and incredible tasting. A most stop when visiting Taranaki!!

Excellent place for a relaxed dinner. Great service and food is delicious. The desserts were refreshing and huge too. Lucky to get a window seat.

Best food anywhere! Visting from the United States we ended up eating there 2 nights in a row, pizza the first night and snapper the second night! Both were beautifully prepared, and taste was excellent! The Staff was very friendly and did a great job. Matt and Shelly, the owners were very attentive and have a real commitment to their customers. AND what a view!!

A really great location and lovely view from our table overlooking the beach. The baked camembert is delicious, we also really enjoyed the short ribs. Wine list is interesting offering wines we hadn't tried before. We enjoyed our wines.

Bang on service food and rock lobster atmosphere 🤣 stoked as! Took us 3 years to try the food as we previously only had a few pints of Rocky point beer on the veranda. Sadly rocky point beer isnt in tap but shining brewery is on tap and is almost as good.

We just had the yummiest dinner at this cool little restaurant down the road from the motor camp. YUM! The roasted Cauliflower entrée was really tasty with a bit of a bite. Fish of the day fantastic & the pizza so flavourful & the dough fantastic, nothing like the franchise pizza places! Great view & staff as a bonus 👌

Highly recommend went here for our anniversary so yum food and good drinks the service was amazing couldn't speak Highly enough about it they were short staffed in a busy shift will definitely be back

Occasionally you stumble across an absolute gem of a restaurant, something that is truly special. From the moment I walked in, I loved this place. The feel of it is simple, unpretentious, comfortable, welcoming. Owner Shelly instantly made us feel like we were regulars with her warmth and friendliness. The menu is not too small, or too big, and filled with an inviting selection of dishes that literally scream 'eat me!' It's authentic Napoletana style pizza and a seasonally-driven bistro menu, all freshly and perfectly prepared by Matt in the kitchen. It's not often I find a chef who delivers such extraordinary tastes, that I wished I could just keep on ordering more. The only way to solve that problem was going back - a total of 3 times in one weekend. I only wished I lived closer so I could go every week. These beautiful folk have changed the way I view brussel sprouts forever - that dish of theirs is just ridiculously morish!

Relaxed beach atmosphere, fantastic vista, friendly relatable staff. Simple, balanced and refined cuisine, for discerning palates. Having tasted many authentic woodfired pizzas around the country, Blacksands consistently produce the best! Blacksands for dinner is a "must do" whether dining in or for takeaway. 👌👌👌👌👌

Absolutely beautiful interior, would make for a great date or family dinner! There is a great menu and range of beverages. I got takeaway which was great! Fast and super friendly pizza, definitely somewhere I’ll be coming back too! I recommend to at least try this place and go out of your way! Super worth it!!! Oh and did I mention the staff were super friendly straight from arrival to getting my pizza!

A fantastic pizza place that produces exceptional authentic italian pizza. The tables inside are well spaced giving a very pleasant ambiance. The deck directly overlooks the ocean which is one of the most pleasant feels any restaurant can offer. Highly recommended to all locals and travelers. I personally had the salmone and loved it. The Chef and staff are really friendly and will welcome you to have a chat if you feel like it, especially if you want to hear the story behind the name of the pizza Salmone!
