Review Cucina - Oamaru

Lovely staff and fantastic wines. Food was a nice mix of modern local fare and some Italian pastas done really well. Tiramisu was delicious although the cocoa powder sauce instead of actual chocolate sauce could do with a change up.

Good service, even though my family walked in late, Cucina accomadated us, a party of 6 and a baby. The meat is of high quality, well cooked with amazing sauces. We ordered every main course on the menu and had a good try of everything. Beer is light and delicious 😋

Super friendly attentive staff. Both our meals were perfect. Cannot fault anything. Great atmosphere. We ordered the lamb, beef, carrots, churros and tiramisu. All delicious👍👍👍👍👍👍

Very good food. Went for the chef's menu - we enjoyed the food although unsure why we were sat in a separate dinning/store cupboard room. Didn't go for the wine pairing as the impression we got was that it was four small glasses. Can get a bottle of wine for same price.

Came with low expectations (for no reason!) but left thinking that it was probably the best dinner I've had in a long time! As a group of 4 we've ordered a couple of different starters and mains..and every single thing was amazing! Very tasty and well presented. Simple interior, but very stylish and greenery adds a cool touch. Would go back to Oamaru just to dine at Cucina again!!!

What a great find in Oamaru! The food, and drinks were delicious. We booked a table as I thought the restaurant would get busy in the evenings, would recommend this as to not disappointed. We started with empanadas and the chorizo was very tasty. Our mains were the fish of the day and the steak, the flavours in the steak dish were amazing I would highly recommend that as a dish. Cocktails were good and the beer selection was also good. The service wasn’t amazing and a little lack lustre for such a great restaurant. Loved the old Victorian bank building and its decor.

Nice atmosphere but a touch warm on a sunny day. Food was great. We dined on public holiday soo no bar service. But they do have a large selection of craft beers.

Decore was nice but a little chilly this winter when I visited. Food took sometime but arrived very nicely plated. A tad bit heavy on pocket but food was nice. Had fish of the day (sole) nicely done but sides (Brussel sprouts) was very sour. Chocolate foundant in dessert was nice but too sweet for my taste. Overall a good place to visit once in a while. 8/2/20 Visited again. Had tomato salad and croutons (not worth 18$) and sirloin which was ok. Overall 60$ ... expensive!!! 4/6/20 - 3rd visit Had mushroom risotto balls n chicken ravioli.. not bad but once again 45$ with entree size.. 16$ for a drink.. this is a high end place..

We went here for our second dinner of the evening. We ordered from the lite menu, tempura type veges plus a tomato salad. Both really tasty and good choices for vegetarians. Dessert was baked cheesecake with sorbet. When in Oamara this place is a must visit

We got the chef's choice menu, and it was delicious - 4 courses, each one better than the last! The flavours were outstanding and so complementary. Great value for money and an amazing experience - highly, HIGHLY recommend Cucina ❤️

It was a rather nice surprise to find a restaurant of this quality in a small town of Oamaru. When we rang up to booked, we were offered a 5pm or 8pm seating so the restaurant obviously have a few sessions. We ordered the Aged Beef and the Lamb for dinner coupled with a Pale Ale and a Sav. The food arrive with a whopping steak knife which made me feel like I was on a mission to do some damage on some poor unsuspecting cows. We had a great meal and the service was excellent and even managed a chat with the lovely owners.

An Oamaru gem. Gorgeous food, beautiful upscale atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. Great location in the central Victorian district, situated inside one of the area's many 19th century limestone buildings. Menu has daily selections and aged meats, and the cocktail list is quite comprehensive. An array of creative starters and side dishes are on offer. Lots of wines by the glass and a variety of local and imported beers. Try the 55-day aged ribeye steak, seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection. I also tried the chocolate tart for dessert, which was a new item on the menu. It did not disappoint! A lovely place for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends or colleagues. I will definitely return.

A pleasant dinning experience in a nice building. Had the ravioli and churros for dessert. Menu has three vegetarian dishes which I suggest they could add more.

The best food and service. It is so delicious with amazing flavors and textures. Quality for value and a gorgeous setting. Crispy cauliflower and black garlic rigatoni.

We went here while we were visiting Oamaru last week. Probably one of the best restaurants we have tried in a while. Amazing food and amazing service.

Really nice restaurant and interior. Really nice spot in Oamaru, really close to steampunk and the old looking street where you can find a cute little bakery, art shop, taste some whisky or walk to the harbour. At this restaurant I had the rib eye (rare), and it was cooked to perfection! Some nice beers and wines on the menu. My choice of dessert, Affogato, came with a sherry. Bit sad because it's way better in the more original form with a liqueur like amaretto or frangelico. Still the chargrilled ribeye was amazing!

Great food, great staff. Nice atmosphere. We had the “trust the chef “ and a few cocktails, everything was delicious. Would recommend trying the tiramisu. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Truly the best place to dine in Oamaru and the hype around this place is for real!! Owned by a much loved couple in the region and have definitely put their mark on Oamaru as the greatest restaurant here. Food is amazing, not over the top pretentious food. Flavors married together perfectly. Just having fantastic food doesn't make a restaurant great to me, it needs to be an all round package which this restaurant 100% does!! The front of house have excellent service and super friendly which is important and a vast knowledge about the menu and wine list. Top marks Cucina.. Well done Pablo and Yanina.

Waow!!!! Gorgeously set out place Super speedy wait staff And then the food... Simply mouth watering flavours put together so beautifully. And ps I am one of those very tricky customers who never order from the menu, can't have this or that. They quickly created my meal with the things I could have & it was divine. You will count your blessings you chose to eat here. I know I do & I'll go out of my way to go back there 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We are regular customers at this gorgeous restaurant, and even held our Wedding there. This restaurant is the best! The staff are fantastic (thanks Harry and the others), the atmosphere brilliant and the food is just superb. We both agree that our wedding was one of the best days we have both had. Thankyou to Pablo and Yanina for making this happen. We are fans of Cucina.

We absolutely LOVE Cucina! Some of the most amazing food I have ever eaten. Obsessed with their smoked chicken ravioli.

We couldn't fault our meal and service at Cucina on Friday night 23/6/2017. The Smoked Chicken Ravioli was divine along with the Pumpkin and Feta Salad. Hubby really enjoyed his Pork Belly. We hoped to fit in a dessert but alas we were too full. We will definitely be going back. Great Wine list.

Fantastic meal its better to book as the night we were there they had to turn customers away as they ran out of food. One of the best Italian meals I've had with a great atmosphere.

Food was good. Service was almost non-existent. Could only get one drink and had to end up leaving without even being asked about dessert as we never saw anyone after food was delivered.
