Review India Garden - Oamaru

The food was pretty good - quite rich, but good meats and reasonable sauces. An odd restaurant in the sense that you are flanked by a queue of people waiting for their take aways. The walls are brightly coloured. We will probably order from them again.

Good and yummy Indian food.. 🍲 We had a lunch there. They provide lunch deal in 15.50 nzd which is very delicious with good portion of curry, gives you veg or non-veg curry option. Stuffs was kind. If you are in Oamaru or passing form there, then definitely you can try this restaurant.

This quaint little Indian restaurant makes the BEST Chicken biriyani we’ve had!! I like mine hot and hubby takes his mild. Both are equally delicious 😋

I love coming into this restaurant and smelling all the delicious food they have cooking. The meals are large and reasonably priced. The mango lassi's are to die for.

India Garden has moved to 263 Thames St and merged with Chef's Multi Cuisine. The menu now includes kebabs and some Indo Chinese dishes as well as Indian. We have not eaten there since they moves, but expect the food will continue to be excellent.

Chicken Biryani vs Lamb Vindaloo (Away Game) - it's only getting better :)

Absolutely delicious! It is my 'go to' place whenever I have a butter chicken craving!! Always perfectly cooked and you can easily share one Naan between two people as they are huge!! Highly recommend!

Very tasty meals. We have a favourite Indian Curry Restaurant we went to for 15 years, in another city. When coming to Oamaru we were concerned we wouldn't find somewhere as good (as disappointed in Christchurch). We were very very happy to find Indian Garden. Fresh meals, tasty, the usual tastes and something new. Love their use of fresh ingredients and spices. Truly good meals!

Food was not too bad. Service could be a little better. When I approached the waiter at the counter, he did not ask whether I wanted to eat in or dine out. After I finished ordering, I asked if I could sit but he said he would need to change the order because the rates are different for dining in. I wish I had known that earlier. The place itself is quiet, small, and not too fancy. The location is right in the middle of town.

Awesome food, great portion sizes will definitely be a returning customer. We had our food delivered, it was piping hot.
