Review Indian & Nepalese Kitchen - Oamaru

Ordered 2 lunch special deals which was served with curry of our choice, rice, naan and a can of soft drink (fanta or sprite). We chose lamb sagwala and lamb dhansak curries, which were good. The Nepalese style lamb biryani was awesome, and my 3 kids love it. Naan and Popadums were tasty too. The staff was very friendly and polite too. 👍 The servings didn't look a lot but they made us really full! Value for money, especially the lunch deals! Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

We just have a wonderful dinner. Their cook Nepal dumplings really yummy which is as same as I ate in Nepal. I can see they are well balance taste the tradition Nepal or India food in New Zealand. We have ask a container for take away because it was so delicious and we don't want to waste any food. The waiter's service are very good, polite and friendly. He was willing to introduce their cook and every dishes is Yummy and well balance in taste. Usually, we don't like India food because it is too salty. However, this restaurant food was really good with nice presentation. Highly recommend for those who drive pass this town.

Like another review said, lunch special is really a good deal. We just eat half of food and we're full. We went there today (30/Jun/2018) about 12pm and finished about 1pm, there are no other guests except us.

Meal was fantastic. Server carefully explained what items on the menu could be made vegan. Had a brilliant meal. Best Indian we’ve had in NZ

Highly recommend. Ignore the location and decor. The food was absolutely marvellous - heaps of vegetarian options, everything has clearly been hand made and carefully spiced with great spice mixes. We love good vegetarian Indian and can't believe how delicious this was, alongside trying the Nepalese specials which we're less familiar with. Even more choice for carnivores but can't comment on those meals. :-)

We ordered one Tikka masala and one palak paneer 20 mn before close and in the rush the palak paneer was literally half full, but in the end they made another half 10 MN past the kitchen closing time for us so it was good. Thank you indian and Nepalese kitchen!

Best Curry's in Waitaki. Portion sizes are good and it's always good quality. Be adventurous in your meal selections as well. The starters are brilliant and Nepalese dishes are amazing. My mouth's watering just thinking about it ! Lamb Rogan Josh is my favourite but it's all very good. Try the Mango Lassies as something a bit different to drink.

Food was delicious and the staff were so helpful. We didn't have an NZ cash and the owners were lovely - we worked it all out. We ordered delivery and didn't hear the door bell (I think its broken, its an airbnb) so they waited around and rang us. Such lovely, very trusting people and the food was great!

We sometimes stop in Oamaru on the way home from the north and we always get food here. It's some of the best Indian food I've had in NZ and the best Nepalese food. Thanks

I really enjoyed the food here. Been here twice. It is my first time trying nepalise cruise . I was blown away by their dumplings. It's a unique mix of Chinese + Indian food. Pretty hard to describe it and I highly recommend that you should try it They have a lunch menu for $13.5 . You get curry + rice + naan + soft drink which is priced very well

We just been to the restaurant. The food was really amazing, we liked the real Indian flavour in all curries and rotis were served with desi ghee. Naan was also nice. Great job. Keep it up. Will definitely go there again and recommend to everyone.

We took 2 lunch menu : 13,5$ each for any curry + rice + plain nana + 1 soft drink. The owner from Nepal is very kind. I took a mango chicken curry and my friend a chicken madras. Both were delicious. We asked no spicy and it was the case. We had enough food with the menu. We highly recommend this place !

I regularly get a takeaway from here. The consistency is excellent the portion size is perfect and the Chicken Vindaloo extra hot as asked for it on the money. My wife enjoys the Chicken Korma mild and again never fails to hit the spot. This curry house i feel offers the best curry in the South Island. i cannot comment about the North Island. Give it a go you will not be disappointed.

I had a Butter Chicken from Oamaru Indian Kitchen, I had high expectations as word of mouth said it was great. HOWVER my Butter Chicken was discusting, had no flavour, and the rice was really gluggy. It was the worst Butter Chicken ive tasted.

Great staff, lovely curries and naan. Good for takeaways too - very fast
