Review Oban Four Square - Oban

Amazing little shop with a wide variety of products. Being the only groceries shop on Stewart Island I thought it would be more expensive but it's bang on par with all other Four Squares - quite a few things even cheaper. The staff are all lovely and willing to share local knowledge to really make your stay super awesome.

I wouldn't normally review a supermarket but for an island location where everything has to be brought in, this shop stocks pretty much all you need and it's not that much more expensive than on the mainland. Quality of fresh goods (fruit and vege dairy bakery etc) is tip top. Great work from the team that run this shop as it can be easy to let standards slip when you have a captive audience 👍

Surprisingly good value. Thanks to the owners for absorbing freight costs and keeping groceries affordable for everyone. Great hot food options too!

Well stocked mini supermarket. They seem to have everything that we were looking for plus things we probably didn’t need. Manage to stock up on food for our entire visit which means we didn’t really need to bring any food across on the ferry like we did. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for a remote island.

Surprisingly well priced ( same as any mainland four square) fantastic service and well stocked with a great range to make a meal at your accommodation.

Lots of variety. A real country store that tries hard to please. Stock mainly comes in from mainland . Prices reflect distance . Good service 7 days aweek. Hard to miss with great views and a table outside.

Really good value - we were suprised! Cheaper than supermakets in the north island. Staff are super lovely and the pies from Lincoln are bloody good. We got one every day 😂

This place has everything you could ever need for your stay, from painkillers to lotto tickets to many different porridge options to 2 minute noodles to enough variations of cheese and crackers to put together a fancy cheeseboard. Don't worry about bringing anything to the island with you thinking they won't have it here, they even have a great range of fresh fruit and veges all the way through to limes, coriander and avocados.

Friendly and helpful service from everyone at the store. Fresh produce and everything we needed for a weeks stay. Thank you everyone.

Well stocked small supermarket, well priced. There are fresh pies and sandwiches too if you need a picnic lunch. Great Chicken, Cranberry and Brie pies

Cosy and nice hostel located at 5 minutes walking from the beach and the ferry terminal. It is also close to the rugby field where you can spot kiwis at night. The rooms are big and spacious, no bunk beds, and warm in autumn. The kitchen has the basics to cook, oven, microwave and some other appliances. Very recommended!

This a great little four square. The staff were very friendly and approachable. They had plenty of food in stock for what you would need while there. Just a good easy four square to go and but some food.

An absolute life saver. Couldnt do enough for us. We were stuck on our yacht in Stewart Island over lock down, we were not allowed to leave and weren't allowed to land. Sam came to our rescue and arranged himself to take a shopping list via txt msg and drop our food off at the wharf. Thankyou Sam. I have highly recommended you and still do. You run a clean, well stocked and friendly shop. I hope all is well with you and your family and you have a wonderful summer.
