What a lovely little cafe this is. We were welcomed with a friendly smile which convinced us to stay and eat here. The room upstairs is sunny and warm with a view of the mountain.
The food came surprisingly quickly and we both agreed that this was one of the best cafe meals we've had for a while. The Angus burger was delicious and my wife really enjoyed the Gluten free quiche.

Absolutely amazing FRESH food, loose leaf tea, great coffee and drink options (kombucha, fresh smoothies & juices). Perfect place for a healthy and fulfilling meals either bigger plates from the kitchen or smaller sandwiches your body will love!
Good cafe with good service and average prices. Food and drinks were good, but not amazing.
There was one spot that had outlets that I could find but that's it and their wifi wasn't working when we went which is the main reason for a lower rating.
A ka pai hearty breakfast at Utopia Cafe this morning, after yesterday's Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike.
Kai was excellent, kāwhe perfect & you can never quite beat a mango smoothie. It was all well worth waiting for (pity some people had kao patience, no excuse for bad manners). Staff & service was excellent.
Atmosphere was lovely, ka pai music, loved all the sparkly lights, awesome smells from the kitchen, quiet hum of earnest conversation. Definitely recommend a visit when in Ohakune.
I am in love with this place. We stayed at a cottage nearby and couldn't help ourselves and visited a couple times. Best cheesecake EVER! The ambience is so warm and cozy and the staff are really kind. Such a wonderful business.
The cream of mushroom was a wow ! And the coffees were good too ! Loved the vibe of the place and the view outside was pleasant as well :)

The food was great, my family and I shared the bacon and cheese wedges and we got a burger each. The chicken and Angus beef burger were delicious.
They said the wait would be 30 minutes but the food was out in under 15 minutes. The staff are were really great.
The music in the background is great, the layout of upstairs and down stairs is good. There is a cool seat made out of a old bath tub and it's very cool.
I would definitely come here again, as we are here because Mount Ruapheu is closed today.
Too many travellers heading North or South stick to SH1 and consequently miss the golden opportunity for a wonderful journeys break that is Ohakune.
So many treasures here, one of which is Utopia Cafe. Great service, fantastic food, and a wonderful atmosphere. You can almost park outside, but a walk after your visit around the town is quite an exploration.
Both the cabinet food and the menu items have never disappointed.
I'm confident that this recommendation will you equally impressed.
Across the road is a small park and over a walk bridge is short bush walk beside a stream. The sound of water and birds makes for a restful stop.

Great family atmosphere cafe, food is fantastic, service and hospitality is great. We dine as the other cafe is full, and I am not disappointed. The cheese poppers is so yummy, this place is highly recommended when you’re in Ohakune.
