Review The Olde Creamery - Ohaupo

What a great find, lovely setting has several outdoor tables as well as those indoors. The indoor decor matches the idyllic feel of the cafe. We were given a selection of 10 tens to choose for to accompany our High Tea. Both of us were suitable full and enjoyed it. The ladies that served us well lovely and friendly. Explaining the different tea options were ,and what we food we were eating. Definitely worth seeking out !

Loved my visit here today. I googled and found The Olde Creamery Cafe and booked a high tea for ten without knowing what to expect as most of us drove down from Auckland for this. Chris the owner was such an accomodating and helpful point of contact while arranging our booking and then on the day so welcoming and you can tell she takes immense pride in what she does. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time here, the staff were lovely and the food delicious - I think the scones were the best I have ever tried. We will be back!

We stopped for a coffee on the journey between Auckland and MataMata. The environment is delicious, it has a garden, for you to contemplate nature, relax and feel the sun on your body. It's worth the visit! Service is very nice.

Visited early Sunday morning and had it to ourselves. Beautiful surroundings. Do not be put of by the scaffolding and renovations at the entrance currently, the dining areas both indoors and outside garden are both well away from the work in progress.

The host was very accommodating despite of not having a prior booking. She gave us a special table upstairs for a private luncheon experience. The food was really good and reasonably priced. Loved the sandwiches especially the one with the mango. I also enjoyed the hot pot. The food were all very well presented. The place was well-kept and interesting. It had an old English vibe which made the experience very unique.

A wonderful lunch destination with Homestead and cottage garden. High teas their speciality, with tasty scones and slices, but don't overlook the menu which includes some great meals. I highly recommend the Lamb Shanks. Perfect venue for Mother's Day.

We had a very nice lunch to celebrate our Mum’s 90th birthday. Really nice food, great service, relaxed atmosphere, and a lovely red velvet birthday cake! Thanks for making it an extra special occasion.

We arrived a little late for Sunday lunch at 1.30pm so if you want a full choice you need to be there a bit earlier. However we had lamb shanks and they were exceptional. At $28 that sounds expensive but it was worth it. The cafe is quaint, has a history as a Creamery and lots of different and interesting places to sit. The service is calm and personal.

Best scones in Waikato. Beautiful gardens. The lady’s who work here are so welcoming. Also child friendly with high chairs and a toy box.

What lovely caring staff run this beautiful spot. So many beautiful spaces to sit depending on the weather. If you like old china, this is the place for you. A gift shop with a range of items that fit with the theme. A very ample serving of tea and scones. Scone was cooked and presented in a clay pot and looked amazing.

Great food in a great setting. I visited when it was raining but still appreciated the outside seating. On a sunny day it would be stunning. Lamb shank I had was outstanding. Mashed potatoes with it were creamy and also exceptional. Service was friendly and I saw staff walking visitors to their cars with umbrellas!

Nice food. Wide selection of teas. They had wine too for people who want it. Pretty place with many things around the walls to look at. Antique cameras, plates, cups, tins, items for sale. Antique stuff in general. Out door area was really cool. 2 games. Huge chessboard and something else. Bring a camera if you have a 1 year old-16 months walking baby-toddler as photos by the chest pieces would be super cute. I do recommend coming. Start off with 3 tier holding miniature savories and end with 3 tier stand of sweets. I felt fill. Look on line to see if they are any coupons. Little girl birthday parties are held here. Perfect setting for a bridal or new moms party. I was taken here for my birthday, thanks to my moms partner for shouting mom and me out.

The Olde Creamery is that type of place that seems to be out of a fairy tale. We discovered the place on our way to Rotorua, and it was a very pleasant surprise. The service is great, and the garden is fantastic to appreciate nature.

A lovely place too enjoy the afternoon with good friends. Great host Chris, and friendly helpful staff. Nice and warm in a winter's day, with the cat enjoying the warmth of the fire and with us. As always finding the best spot in the house.

we travelled all the way from Auckland and we just found out the restaurant is closed for fully booked for an event. we previously didn't ring to book because we are just a small group of 4. if the venue is closed for booking, please update the website or say booking is a must on the website.

Gorgeous quaint cafe 15 minutes away from Hamilton City, with one of the prettiest outdoor dining areas I’ve ever dined in. Beautifully landscaped gardens, lush greenery, a gazebo and even an outdoors chess and checkers set!. Our lunch coincided with a large group’s visit, so there were a few issues at the start. It took a while to get our menus and water, the waitress didn’t return to take our order for 10 minutes so we just ordered at the counter, and I also had to get my glass changed because the one the waitress brought out was dirty. And the lamb shanks that I had been intending to order were all ordered out by the large group. :( The lady at the counter was very sweet and apologetic about it, though, so I’ll just chalk it up to bad timing and bad luck for us.

Wow, is this service at its best? Most likely! Called for a booking and the lady was delightful. Asked me if there were any special dietary requirements (which there were). I had forgotten about this so she saved my bacon - as the partner is GF. Thanks!
Anyway, we get out there and the place is lovely. Staff equally so. Good old fashion customer engagement, and thanked us for turning up (most don't even bother these days). We were even given a complimentary home made chocolate when we left.
Cafe would be even nicer during the summer as there is a lovely outdoor area.
We only went for high tea so can't comment on the normal menu, but the high tea was tasty and very well presented.
We will be going back some time.
