This place was a little gem we found in onehunga we had never been there before but it heard good things and we were not disappointed. The owner was very genuine and authentically Italian and the food matched this.

Prefect place for a intimate gathering. The waiters were very friendly. Only when they read the specials to us when we were seated, was a bit hard to understand, a bit too fast. The food was reasonably priced. It was presented neatly on white wear. The restaurant had a hint of Italian feel to it with it's red & white checkered table cloth. It wasn't the most fancy place but still nice. I give to five stars because the food was five stars. Chef came to see us which was a nice touch. Will definitely be going back with friends.

Best Italian food we have eaten in a long time. Pasta was cooked to perfection and the hand-made pizza was fresh and delicious. Will come back soon. Thank you to the lovely staff and owner.

Great place for food! Everything we ordered was great just the way we liked it! Friendly staff and owner as well. They entertained us the other day even though it was near closing time. We'll be back for sure to try out the other stuff in the menu! Cheers guys.

Read a review, booked and enjoyed a wonderful quaint evening at Giamperos with our special guest from overseas Thursday 2nd Nov All Souls evening. The service was excellent our meals very good, The only thing we could fault was the gravy flavour on the steak pate special which we still completed. We loved the chef and his attention to ensure we had a fabulous, unplanned evening. Especially loved the tiramisu! We will return.

My name is Gloria. Bob and I have been eating regularly (Over the past 5 years) at Giampiero's Kitchen. It is our Italian Restaurant of preference. The setting is cosy, and warm and the waiting team are always welcoming and we always feel that we are Special customers at this eatery. Food flavours are authentic and we love to choose from the specials and the menu which allows for customers to share pizza or pasta and dessert. My particular favourite taste tipple is the calamari. Must also mention that recently I left my mobile phone at the eatery and I was delighted to find that the owner and staff took care of it until I collected the device. Such honesty is to be rewarded. Thank you team Giampiero.

As a vegetarian it's always hard to get a good meal. I had my very own pasta whipped up for me, served with a huge smile. What a delight❤

Loove the food and the service, so we visit every month, always great to go to an Italian restaurant with an Italian chef.... you know how fussy they will be because they take pride in their work.

Ridiculously delicious! My seafood pasta (special of the day) was to die for (ps put it on your main menu!) and husband have meat lovers pizza and throughly enjoyed it too! Small nook area for small kids to be entertained, which was a welcomed surprise (3yr old in tow)! Thank you soo much!

Margharita and Capriciossa are the go to. Crust is on point. Crispy, crunchy and has a great flavour on its own that goes well with the topping.

8.1/10

SO HAPPY we found this GEM. Giampiero is a WONDERFUL host and his food is just so full of flavor and soul comforting. The garlic bread is like no other i've EVER had. The lasagna... my mouth is watering right now. The butter and sage ravioli is like VELVET and the steak is perfection. One of the best Italian restaurants in New Zealand.

3.5, this is better than a 3 but not quite good enough for a 4.

What you see is what you get here at Giampiero's, there are no surprises and sometimes that's what you want. Perfect for family dinner's, the Italian food is simple, rustic and hits the spot. The owner/chef walks the restaurant assessing the tables and ensuring everything is in its right place, a burly Italian fellow with character to boot!

Perfect for a large rowdy group who just want to have a good night.
Oh yeah, it's BYO, so make sure you bring a bottle or two of the red stuff to help wash the pizza down.

A cute little restaurant w. Excellent friendly and professional service, the owner/manager is a real character and had us laughing most of the night. Food delicious, only one thing. It was really hot, could have done w. a fan or air con, but we all (10 of us) had a fantastic night!

Great authentic Italian food all meals thoroughly enjoyed. Pleasant owner barrel of laughs and very accommodating for our large group. Only unfortunate thing was no tiramisu available on the night we went :( and one diner ordered pancakes which on the menu stated pancakes with mixed berries and chocolate sauce however what came out was one thin pancake wrapped up with the berries inside and that was it. Apart from that an enjoyable evenibg

Well, where do I start? We booked for 6pm as we had 2 of our grandchildren with us as they were up from Christchurch for the school holidays. Plenty of menu choices some had pizza others had lasagne, gnocchi with cockles. Pizza garlic bread for a quick starter was plentiful and very tasty. All of the food was well presented, staff attentive and the owner paid special attention to the children. We all really enjoyed our meal's and will definitely be back after our trip to Europe.

Very ordinary pizza with a cakey rather than crisp crust. Lots of cheese but for a pepperoni pizza with spinach as an ingredient it was all spinach and little pepperoni. My wife had a pizza and asked if she could have some pepperoni instead of olives so was charged 3.50 resulting in a $27.50 pizza. The beer and wines all seem to be on a 4x cost price. Steep?
Giampieros has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, and the chef kept coming out personally to check on whether we were enjoying the food. Really reasonable portion sizes for the quality of the food and price. The mussels were absolutely delicious, and the gnocchi fromage was to die for. Would definitely come here again.

Zomato did me a solid tonight. After developing a hankering for pizza and pasta i was parked outside a different pizzeria and was almost thru the door when i saw a 1.9 averaged score. Luckily the nearby seach turned up amore pizza cafe and the simple but flavoursome food did not dissapoint. Great food , friendly host and modest price = great night.
