Review Dillys Cafe & Bistro - Onehunga

Dilly’s is popular and for good reason. The staff are so friendly and attentive, and the food is artistically presented. I think I almost broke my phone taking photos - so instagrammable! I had the waffles which were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Berries, banana, crème fraiche,a generous serving of maple syrup… mmmmm delicious 🤤. My mother had eggs bene with bacon. The creamed spinach was insane. I’m still trying to figure out how to make it. We also had a cream donut from the cabinet. Coffee was excellent too.

Really enjoyed our time at Dillys. Staff were friendly, the place was clean and the food and portion sizes were great. Apart from the Waffles and the fried chicken which could have been much hotter, other than that we had a lovely time and will definitely be back, thank you so much. Update: Went back for a second visit. Eggs Bene are our new fave

Been back to this place after almost 5 years. This was our go to for lunch with my work colleagues when I used to work at Henderson Place. 1st time to try a quiche here and OMG so delicious 😋 i almost forgot my name 😅 highly recommended 💪 lunchtime is always packed but they have outdoor setting

Friendly environment, delicious food and great service. Wait staff were patient enough with our barrage of questions and did not rush us to place our orders. Owner was very attentive as we were celebrating a birthday; he came over to extend a birthday wish. Will definitely return. 3 years later and I still rate them 5 stars. Mushrooms are Dilly…. Well done

Have seen this place many times driving past and see that it's always quite popular. Speedy service and friendly staff. Plenty of carparks during the weekend. Nice outdoor seating for nice days. We tried a couple of the waffle dishes which were great. The banana waffles were not too sweet! Coffee was also good! Great atmosphere and plenty of seating for small or large groups

Following an indulgent night out on town before, we tried out local cafe Dilly’s along Church Street in Onehunga just down from the stadium. The cafe is relatively new and looked impressive on the inside with its industrial chic interior. The cabinets were very inviting with sweet and savory fare. The menu was challenging to decide on what to have and the espresso was very good. We settled on the Dilly’s Big Breakfast and Shrooms with a side of scrambled eggs. My mushrooms were under seasoned needed more flavoring so I would t order those again however the eggs were lovely. The breakfast plates appeared to be thoroughly enjoyed. There are other items I’d like to try for a second impression on the food, the oats caramel slice was lovely though.

Very busy coffee shop, beautifully decorated, this is a shop that will increase the appetite of customers, there is its own parking space at the entrance, and there are also have outdoor seats, it is really happy to sit outside when the weather is good , the staff all good, will come again next ☺️

Found this cafe when I dropped my car off nearby to get WOF done. Large cafe with plenty of seating, friendly staff and nice industrial decor. I ordered the fried chicken baoger (meant to be a cross between a bao and a burger) but was told by whom I assumed is the owner that they are having supplier issues and his parents are trying to find stock around Auckland. He asked if I was ok with the burger instead and I said yes. Unfortunately, I received a beef burger rather than a chicken burger, which could be due to miscommunication as it was quite busy in the cafe and I had a mask on (which I noticed can be difficult for others to hear me especially in a noisy environment). I didn't inform the cafe staff about it as I wanted to get my car as soon as WOF was done and didn't want to have to wait for a new burger to be cooked up. Despite it not being what I ordered, it was a very good beef burger with a nice juicy patty and crunchy pickles. The fries that came with it were well seasoned but could do with an extra minute or so in the oven so that the outside would be crispier. Portion size is very generous so could only eat half and took the rest home. I don't live or work close by so wouldn't come out of my way here again, but would definitely drop by if I'm in the area.

Much needed oasis in the Penrose warehouse jungle. The food is great with plenty of choices for everyone, and there is a large open area so it never feels too crowded.

We had lunch in Dilly’s on Thursday and really enjoyed it. We had the baoburger, a veg wrap and a custard doughnut. We tried the chicken baoburger which came with fresh slaw and pickle. It was really good and cost about $13.50. The wrap was from the cabinet and was a generous portion and priced $6.90. Definitely the piece de resistance was the doughnut! So soft with loads of custard-yum!! Good coffee and really nice interior. I will say I found it very cold in there and would struggle to go back unless there is some heating in the building. Also there are more parking spaces under the building so don’t be put off if it looks full in the front.

Good food and love the space. Lots of space for everyone and lots of cabinet food to choose from too. Only thing is staff can be friendlier and happier. But overall very good

Went for brunch and had a really nice meal. Just your standard cafe with a few extra interesting menu items. Coffee is good. Also the kids menu is good and they were happy to change the dish up a little to suit our little human.

Consistently good! I have dined in and taken away and each time the service, food and coffee has been excellent. The barista always checks that I am happy with the amount of cream in my coffee and the service staff are super efficient and friendly. The area needed a place like Dilly's!

First visit on a recommendation, arrived 630am so no issues with parking. We both had the big Dilly breakfast, tasty and filling. Awesome coffee (had 3 flat whites while there!), and the cabinet filled with tasty looking food as we ate. Friendly service. Would visit again.

Wow what a spot! Amazing food, always fresh and quick. Great staff too, always friendly and knowledgeable. Always worth a visit whether you’re a local who keeps coming as a regular, or if you’re just popping through. They have food to cater for every taste and even serve alcohol too which is a huge plus if you’re looking for a long lunch.

visited a few times since opening. Contemporary cafe with a great range of cabinet food with well priced tasty treats on the menu. The big Dilly is a serious feed for a workday brunch and tasted great. The gourmet sausage rolls are also not to missed if your on the go.

Absolutely beautiful new cafe in Onehunga, the food offering in the deli cabinet was extensive and the a la carte menu literally has something for everyone. The Dillyicious waffles were bloody delicious and my coconut milk latte was on point! Outstanding service, very reasonable prices and I got to enjoy my breakfast sitting outside in the sun. Definitely recommend, will be coming back for some after work wines for sure!

Cabinet looks amazing, especially compared to other local places in penrose. I had a chocolate twist croissant which tasted old, looked amazing but not good. Coffee was average in my opinion.
Perhaps just teething problems as they are newly opened?
There’s generally a coffee queue with only a couple of people working so allow a little bit of time.
Will try again and order something off the extensive menu.

Lots of parking. Spaciously set up. Menu decently priced. Enjoyed brunch here. Service was top notch. The Big Dilly was well priced at $21. Also got to enjoy half a custard doughnut which was truly a treat. Very modern feel. Would definitely return to try other dishes off the menu. Recommended to all.

A good looking, & appropriate, industrial fitout for this new cafe in an industrial area of Onehunga/Penrose.

Coffee was very good with standard lunch choices of burger, coleslaw, & fries, steak sandwich, fish & chips with coleslaw, dumplings etc.
