My family go here regularly to enjoy Prawns Masala and Kasoori Gosht and the owner knows their taste. The Garlic Naan was very nice with my Rogan Josh. We took our byo along. The restaurant has a pleasant ambience inside.

This is my favourite Indian restuarant. The food is delicious and consistently good!! The lamb nawabi and the lamb rogan josh are soo yummy! The restaurant owner is absolutely lovely and gives amazing service everytime we go. I can highly reccommend Curry Leaf Onehunga if you are wanting delicious, fresh, tasty food.

I had a garlic naan and the Methi malai paneer that came with a pyramid of rice. I wanted the dish very hot but it was made mild. The food was really tasty though. I would of liked more garlic on the naan even though it was small. I will definitely go back and would recommend this dish.

Had a heart-filling lunch @curry leaf. Masala chai served hot and strong! Recommend their chikken tikka masala and aloo paratha. Definitely going back :) It's a shame that there wasn't many people around at lunchtime. #supportlocal #bestindianfood

I've never had such a perfectly spiced, so well cooked and highly satisfying Indian meal before. We had the Banquet for 2 and it was simply amazing. A massive plate of starters (4 different dishes with 5 sauces) and four beautiful bowls of Daal, Beef Vindaloo, Lamb Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken as main course. Heaven. So much good food, my partner and I were both so happy and full after dining here.

I have been to this place with my friends on Sunday 8th July for dinner. We ordered mix platter as our first course which includes samosas, seekh kabab, chicken Tikka , veg pakora. On our main course we ordered saag chicken, Dal tadka and Goat curry which is recommended by Chef. And also rotis and naan breads. This place is simply awesome. Chicken Tikka was delicious, tasty seekh kebab was tasty, spicy as we mentioned to staff. Rotis and naan breads was freshly made soft and hot. Dal tadka, chicken saag was outstanding. And the best part was goat curry which is recommended by Chef. It was the best goat curry we ever had. Goat meat was tender, spicy, tasty. It was a really good experience in Curry leaf Kumeu restaurant. We loved the food. We are definitely going to come back. And thank you for wonderful food.

Well this place has gone to crap. The food used to be ok but has been going down hill for a while. After last night where 3 of us ordered as takeaway at once. One came out after 10 mins, and then the other two meals arrived about 20 mins later. One of the meals was totally wrong, and the lady was convinced I had said I wanted that not what I asked for. We had been waiting close to 45 mins so just took the now cold meal and the wrong meal and left. They gave us some stale popadoms as a sorry. All three meals were tastless and mine had a nice big black hair in it too. Will never go back there again.

Delicious food served here and always fresh. The staff were a delight and polite. So many options and chef is pretty knowledgeable Would recommend there is plenty of seating available for dining and they also do takeaway....

My favourite indian restaurant in Kumeu by far! The butter chicken is always delicious and goes perfectly with their naan bread. My new go to dish is the biryani, so flavourful & filling. The only reason I have rated them a 3 is because there have been a few instances where we have had things missing in our orders, or something was incorrect (this is when we have had it delivered). But based on the food itself, it is definitely the best around.

The food was bland and lacked flavour. This place used to be really good, but unfortunately it’s gone down hill and the wait staff were abrupt. I won’t be returning.

This is the fourth time we came here and as always loved everything here, from the warm welcome to the amazing food.
Everything was fresh and tasty. I had lamb saag that was succulent and swimming in exotic blend of spices and spinach.the ice was fluffy and yummy and the naan was beautifully done. My partner had the beef madras and it was basted in coconut and gorgeous spices.
In short. If you want to enjoy and pay a fair price, this is the place to eat.
Highly recommended ♥️

My girlfriend suggested to come here because loves this place! It was amazing food and a good atmosphere! However the pricing is confusing because if you go Mon-Tues it says our mains were $12.99 but we got charged full price, when I spoke to the staff about it, he looked confused.
Happy to pay the full price because the food was amazing but a little misleading.
All in all good food and good dining experience

Tried the butter chicken tonight with a garlic naan. The butter chicken was like water and had no taste at all! The naan was thick around the edges and little to no garlic. The restaurant was not busy when I arrived to pick up and it was only a 10 minute wait however would have waited longer to have the curry have taste. Would not try again.
Emmy
Best indian food and lovely service, had the banquet for 2 which they made all vegetarian per my request with no issues which was great, been eating here for years
Donna Harris
I’ve tried the butter chicken in the past and lived it so thought I’d try them again for something different.
The korma which is always my favourite dish whenever getting Indian was very sweet and the sauce tasted like pumpkin purée. My partner had the saagwala which is his favourite and it was bland and mostly tomatoes!
Never in the many times we have had saagwala from several different places has it had tomatoes in it.
The garlic naan we ordered was garlic and cheese and had so much cheese on it the 2 pieces were glued together and was more like a cheese pizza.
Never again

Have had it delivered with Menulog. Great food. We have had chicken butter chicken and korma along with the tikka starter. All fantastic taste

Me and my partner come here at least twice a month, as we absolutely love the curry...butter chicken is out of this world, as if the tikka masala and vindaloo, along with the cheese and garlic naan which is our favourite. The staff are also super friendly. Would definitely recommend

Movie night is taken to that next level with curry and naan, it's how things are. My brother and I got the chicken tikka masala and ths lamb vindaloo as well as the garlic cheese stuffed naan and I have to say it is definitely that trashy, indulgent thing you're looking for on a Wednesday. The meats in the curries were really tender and the naan was just so good but I would of like my chicken tikka to have had more flavour. We had it to take away but the service managed to not be the best? We ordered and were sitting and waiting and we noticed that take aways that had been ordered were being brought of the kitchen and placed by the waiters who just ignored them and kept watching the Indian movie playing on the TV? Eventually one of the waiters waved us over and asked what we had ordered and then had to go back and check with the kitchen what we had ordered before he could give it to us. Good thing we weren't in a rush bc that could've been quite annoying.

Delicious. The best takeaway curries I've had in a long time. The lamb in the Rogan Josh melted in my mouth. I wish we lived closer so The Curry Leaf could be a regular.
Amanda Jane
Had an amazing meal this afternoon, plentiful plates, nice house wine and pleasant staff. Top marks! The food is cooked to perfection. The Vindaloo is divine :)

Mark n me been there for diner it was really disappointing. Worst food n service ever had in kumeo even a fish n chips food n service is Gud den curry leaf
James Brown
Ate at Curry Leaf last night and food and service very good. Curries better in my opinion than the new Masala in Huapai and as with Masala they have specials on Mondays and Tuesdays . . will be coming back.

Don't even bother reading the silly reviews below about "it gave me bad acid"... maybe you shouldn't eat food that has a higher probability of giving you acid problems... (just saying)

This place has been fantastic, and the lovely girl behind the counter has ALWAYS been accommodating to us and our dietary needs. I cant eat rice, but was still happy to pay the full price as though I was getting the rice as well. She then without a word put in some extras for us free of charge, and has done so ever since.

That kind of dedication and service has led us to go back time and time again. And just so you know, the peshwari naan is the best naan you will have in Auckland.

Thanks for always being so good to us guys, you became our local, and you've done a fantastic job.

This place is absolute rubbish!!!!

The food is way to creamy and gives you bad acid. I went there and the owner (Gulab) said he would do me a deal! I thought sweet as, I'll have this lamb curry.

It wasn't lamb it must have been old beef, uneatable it was just big grisly pieces.

Do you think I am stupid Gulab? Bloody disgusting and I will never be back there and will endeavor to spread my experience to all in Kumeu as I work and live there.

Oh dear! What has happened to our beloved Curry Leaf? Have been coming here for years on and off and have always had a great experience, until Friday night June 14th. I was quite busy but not too busy. The regular people did not seem to be serving that night but service was still prompt and friendly.

Unfortunately the food was just not up to scratch, not their usual high standard. The starters: Onion Bhaji was just a plate of big hanks or nearly raw onion with little crispy batter, very tough and soggy. The Chicken Tikka was obviously microwaved and no longer comes on a sizzling platter, it was nearly cold and not terribly appetising.

We only ordered one main, Goan Fish Curry with a garlic Naan and rice. Well the rice was old and stale, not even warmed through, cold and chewy. The Goan fish curry was watered down, had lots or hanks of raw onion again and not much fish, the gravy was watery and tasted of nothing at all, no sign of the coconut milk that is supposed to be in this dish. Thin and totally tasteless, obviously they had grabbed any old gravy and just watered it down, it was not Goan Fish Curry as we have had here before.

When asked if everything was OK with our meal, our answer was completely ignored, no interest at all. Why bother asking then!

I hope this was a one off bad night for them as it's certainly not up to the standard of past meals here. We will try one more time just in case it was an off night but things do not seem as good here now.

We had a family lunch (party of17) for my dads 80th. Service was outstanding and food was delicious fresh and hot. We will definitely be returning.

We went to Curry Leaf today after many years. We remembering it as having good authentic Indian food. We ordered the balti chicken, chicken tikka masala and 4 naans to takeaway. By the time we got home, which was about 10mins our naan had gotten chewy and so made it very difficult to eat. Both the curries had to roots still on the onion making it very unappetising. The food overall tasted very bad and would not recommend eating here.
Never going back again

We recently moved to the area and have become regular visitors to the Curry Leaf. I can really recommend their onion Bhaji's and all their curries, always full of flavour and good portion sizes, keep up the great work guys!

I have tasted a lot of currys from Indian restaurants through out New Zealand and I must say Curry Leaf is by far the best I have had the pleasure to experience.
For myself it's not just the fine food that influences this review, it is also the friendly and well spoken staff, the two of the above together was a great experience.
Keep up the fine work Curry Leaf!
Simply amazing.

Curry Leaf makes the best curries in the world, fantastic service everytime, great pompadoms !, there is no better butter chicken than what curry leaf serves on top of all their other world class curries, the girl behind the counter has excellent costumer service skills !!!, highly reccomend curry leaf!!!!!

We get curry delivered weekly and find them great. Their meals are nice and the delivery option is wonderful for when we work late and cannot be bothered cooking.

We've been eating here on and off for years.

Some time ago it all went downhill and we dined elsewhere for a few years but about 2 years ago the other place in Kumeu upset us (double dear, and the service was not at all good) so we gave the Curry Leaf a another strum.

Turned out things had improved: the food's now very good. So we kept going, usuing it mostly for takeaways, and then the $12.50 mains deal (Monday $ Tuesday - t's & c's apply) came out it all looked very good indeed.

However last time we were there they'd hung a sign on the bar saying doggy bags would be $1 per container. Frankly, that's a rort: for a start they cost around 20c anyway and secondly you've already paid for your meal once - but if you don't eat it they 'fine' you for saving it for later? Huhh? If a family of 4 turn up for the first time they don't know how much they're going to eat - if they order more than they can eat at the time they will have to pay for the uneaten portion which is then confiscated by the staff, and either binned, or sold back to them at rip-off rates for the plastic containers needed to take it home!

Do they charge for containers if you order a takeaway? No.

Will I be going back for a meal? Not as long as they are going to charge me for bagging MY food. I explained to the staff at the time that they can tell the boss he made $1.20 extra profit on two containers this time, but lost my business forever.

Curry Leaf in Kumeu makes some of the best curries I've ever had. If you're after fantastic yummy curry in a relaxed atmosphere or takeaway it's your place. Great service and the Tuesday special makes for a cheap night out. Great place for family as it's not too flash but the food is.
Ria
Len. H has summed it up for me. Wonderful restaurant, highly reccomended. Friendly staff, spacious but cozy restaurant. A+++ food. But hygeine may be the issue here, for example the toilets and the fact that they are really dirty which is why I held back from giving it a four (very good) it might be a good idea to go toilet BEFORE you dine here.

We have eaten at this establishment regularly for many years and have always enjoyed the great taste and quality of the curries. The Management and staff have always looked after us in a pleasant and efficient manner. We do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to our friend.

It is a great place to have a meal after a hard ride at Woodhill Montain Bike Park.

The Vegetable Korma is the best I have tried. I find it to be a very fulfilling meal for two adults with a papadum and bread from the clay oven.
Eric
Seriously fed up of the lady serving on the counter wearing some kind home clothes which seems to be dirty and hardly able to speak English. I didn't enjoy my dining over there because at the end we are looking for the value for money and I didn’t had it so never ever think of going there back again.
JustOneMore
This is our "local Indian". You know the one you fall back on. We have used this more than a few times without issue. Have never dined in here as we always just do takeaways but there always seem to be plenty of people filling the tables. I must admit that it is a nice change to sit at the bar and enjoy a quiet beer while waiting rather than most places where the best you can hope for is the Womans Weekly from 1999. Never had a less than pleasing experience with the food but you will pay a bit more than just a takeaway Indian. You wont be disappointed with the food.
