Review Bakehaven Cafe - Onehunga

I stopped by since I was in the area to try it out. It was one of the few places open around 0900. They have cabinets on the side with all the treats they have available, both hot and cold. they also have a menu for a la carte breakfast. I grabbed a few sweet treats as well as some pies. The rust of the pies were a bit disappointing, being quite soft, breaking apart as I tried to get them into the bag. The lids were flakey and the flavours were quite nice. What I really enjoyed was the chocolate slice. It looks quite unassuming but it tasted amazing. It had a really nice base and filling which melded together quite well. The pecan tart was also quite nice. i wasn't expecting much but the flavours of their sweet treats were really good.

Despite looking a bit run down, our local 'cheap & cheerful' is a popular meeting place for all sorts: trades, families, local workers, Superannuants & the odd opportunistic sparrow. This family Team work hard to provide decent, affordable food. It's small & can be a bit of a squeeze but that's not a deterent. Great coffee. Great service.

I have been going to this place since I started work at onehunga dress smart ordering breakfast on the odd occasion. But most recently I am not impressed with their coffee 2 times its not tasted the greatest wouldn't be returning to the coffee shop. When they charge $6.00 for a coffee and I can go to the Cafe by countdown and get a large for $5.

This joint can get quite busy around breakfast and lunch times. Food is pretty good. Like to stop here for lunch as their menu have afew things to offer (especially if you have a fussy ones in the family lol) atmosphere isn't too bad, staff are always attentive and service time for food isn't too bad either. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Nice little cafe. A fluffy for my two year old granddaughter, she loves it! Plenty to choose from their food cabinet!

I have never really been there before, And I actually don't live in the area, but I also know that it is one of the best places I have ever been for a Coffee and afternoon tea, And I know you can get a lot of fried foods there which I know is not really very healthy and I could also go there for breakfast, but as far as I know, they prepare healthier alternatives such as rolls and sandwiches any plenty of healthier lunch options, and I also know that they make such amazing coffee.

it’s an old looking cafe but the food and prices more than make up for it everything is fresh and the portions are huge. coffee is great too.

Tried Tasty chicken with salad, it was good and I tried creamy chicken pie which is really good in taste

Great value food, clean and fast friendly service. Steak meal incl. 2 eggs, chips, toast and salad for $20. Cooked to order and on point for taste.

Have always gone here but food getting boring no changes to menu

Great bakery style Cafe. Nice cabinet food, great breakfast and lunch menu. Smooth and velvety coffee. Good selection of cold drinks in cabinet, great smoothies, iced coffee. The prices are fair and reasonable, and to top it all off the staff are friendly and chat to customers. Lots of regular people come here. 10am-12pm most days the place is fairly full. This is a great place.

I placed a very large order for a last minute work meeting, the staff were amazing helping me select and package the food. As I went to pay the eftpos machine was offline, they let me leave and return later to pay. Excellent and friendly customer service A+

Partner and I shared a lovely breakfast this morning. Great customer service, food was delish and a relaxing environment. One thing that I did stand out are the comfortable sturdy chairs as well ☺

While I am not a great fan of pies with lots of thick sauce their pies are proving to be very nice. Good flavours, pastry, and variety. Including a tomato stake and onion. The beef tasted like beef, not just a uniform flavor. Also the sweet section is nice.as an update I have added a pic of an opened meat pie showing chunky meat. Very nice. So far I am finding it to be good value and very good food. They are very nice Cambodian owners.

I have dined here a few times and it's pretty average, nothing major to boast about. This morning I came in for a quick stop while I waited for the bank to open and tried a steak and cheese pie and a seafood basket. Seafood basket filling was yum but bread was hard as rock and I thought it could've been an actual rock I was eating. Maybe bread had been sitting too long that it went so hard. Pie was ok. I've had better. Coffee was average too.

A quaint little café in Onehunga. I think I’ve been a tad brainwashed by all the hype around “insta-worthy” cafes recently that I’ve completely forgotten how good simple cafe food tastes. The highlight was definitely the big breakfast for $14.90. Shows that you don’t have to spend crazy amounts of money for quality food! You definitely get what you pay for here.

Good service. Warm and inviting. Food served in a timely manner. Prices have gone up a bit I've noticed but one of the locals places I often go to when considering treating myself to a lovely brunch.

Decided to come here to grab a sandwich this afternoon. The chicken avocado sandwich was tasty. Service was average. But I reckon the cleanliness of the restaurant could do with some improving.

My partner & i came here for breakfast i ordered the bake haven delight she had the big breakfast. We also had two latté's, coffee was off the hook! Real good food as well, may not have been much portion wise but i'm not complaining. We also had a pie and blueberry tart both really good and cheap! Unfortunately i only took a pic of my plate..anyways i will recommend however others say they are a hit & miss totally upto you to try.<br/>

This reminds me of those Hollywood cafes.they have a huge selection of food with cheap prices. It's also open very early in the morning compared to most cafes in onehunga. Only fault is their thai filo roll was too much chewy greens in it. Otherwise I have never been disappointed by their food.

This place is simple and calm. Breakfast are cheap and the portion is apt as per the price. The portion is less than any other cafe. Food tastes good but too simple.

Good service food not as great as the bake haven in mangere small portion never go there again. The place is small and there was hardly anyone, the chicken melt that I always order from mangere bake haven was below average at the onehunga one.

The stars are based on having tried the Vogel sandwiches here on a number of occasions, tasty and good $value for money.<br/>The coffee is hit and miss so I choose not to order that here...<br/>Unpretentious surroundings and good service, an old fashioned cafe for when your budget is tight.
