The best brewery in Auckland. Bit of an effort to get there. Using public transport get off at The Papapa and walk through an industrial area for 10 minutes. Once there enjoy the great beers on tap from pale ales to some pretty special IPA's at reasonable prices. And do not forget the pizzas! Very large and very tasty. Dog and kid friendly so well worth whiling away an afternoon here. Recommended.

The taproom is located by the Gull on Neilsen Street in Onehunga. It was a bit surprising seeing it there as it seems to be in the middle of nowhere. They do have a fair amount of parking down the driveway but it does get quite full. There is plenty of street parking around though. The taproom is through the warehouse entrance. They have plenty of tables inside and out. There was also an arcade section on the side. The decor is a bit interesting with the front end of a plane by the counter and a cowboy on the far wall. They offer their large selection of beers, as well as gin, wine, cider, and other alcoholic beverages. They serve pizza as food option. The pizzas were decently sized and quite tasty. The pepperoni was a little peppery. It was a nice place for a lazy afternoon enjoying food and drinks.

Best place to chill out before a gig or if in the area in general. It's in this really cool old aircraft hangar and has some original arcade games too. Good vibes, good beer and great pizza. Just one of those rare Epic places! 😎

Late review from a visit last Friday (23rd June). It's been way too long since I was last here. I arrived around 3, just before the after work crowd started rolling in. Was made welcome by Luke, Wendy and Paddy (and the rest of the team) and quickly got into the new IPA (Snakes) that was on tap. Numbers steadily increased and included workers from the area, families, people celebrating a birthday, people collecting riggers to take home and a few dogs. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the music is solid and not too loud. The beer is outstanding. I sampled a few more taps through the evening and a couple of cans from the well stocked fridge, before ordering a pizza. My "Epic Loves Bacon" pizza arrived and I ate the whole thing by myself. Easily the best pizza I've had. Fresh ingredients and a great thin base. I finished the night with the latest release (tap room only) of the excellent Captain Springs Imperial stout and then grabbed some take out to take home with me. Meet some new people, caught up with some old friends and had a great time. I'd been to about a dozen bars and venues in Auckland over the past couple of days, some of them I rate really highly. The Epic taproom was easily my favorite. If I lived in Auckland, I'd make this place my local. In lieu of that I should get here more often and if you are reading this I recommend you check it out.

Hands freakin' down THE best beer I had in NZ. I love a good beer. I love a taproom. I tried quite a many during my 2 weeks in NZ and I was disappointed time and time again to the point where I decided just to drink wine so I would stop the endless cycle of believing NZ beer just wasn't the business. Hours before takeoff on our last day, we stop in here. Long story short, this is some next level, grade A stuff! The owner, Luke, is a chill, funny dude with good stories about how he's come to have a cockpit of a plane in his bar to how he's come around to becoming a three-time winner of the Supreme Champion Beer of New Zealand. They have a good variety EXCELLENT pizza, cold to-go cans, and a couple handfuls of coin-op games. Family friendly here! I am sad that we only found this place so last minute, but my oh my, what a highlight of my trip! (Oh, and if you think you're in the wrong place as you're surrounded by industrial buildings on the drive in, you've found the right spot.)

Great beer, both on tap and cans in the fridge. Pizzas are really nice, and the whiskey barrels with ageing stout lined up on the warehouse shelves along the walls are really promising. Definitely a go-to place for after-work, hang out with friends or so. Recommended!

This place is fun and it’s an excellent option for a spot to hang out and listen to good music. The pizza is very good, the drinks are excellent, and when the live music is happening, it’s even better.

Super friendly family-run brewery, great selection of beers and awesome pizza. What more could you want? Also a great option if you have an hour or two to kill on the way to the airport.

Love hangs at Epic Taproom. This is a must stop for us when we are in Auckland. We stop in to try some of the fresh brews on the taps and to have a few pizzas for family dinner. They have video game machines that helps entertain the kids. We can also pick up takeaway beers from the Epic collection. If you like a well hopped craft beer and delicious pizza, this is definitely a great place to stop.
