Review Charlie Farley's - Onetangi

Great place. Live music. The ice cream and drink were awesome. Good vibes. Friendly staff. Quick service. Nice selection from menu. Excellent atmosphere with good music.

The best place to eat on Waiheke Island. Food is delicious, service from all staff is the best I've ever come across! Pricing is good and the quality is 100%. I would recommend Charlie Farleys to everyone. You will not be disappointed here. View of the beach is amazing too.

I had the tuna poke bowl (though it came with salmon instead) and it was delicious. Nice heat from the wasabi mayo. My partner and I split the Bounty for dessert (YUM!!). Service was exceptional. Gorgeous views. I can imagine this place being packed in the summer but it was decently busy on a Wednesday night in autumn. Thank you!

Located on the beach front of Onetangi beach of Waiheke island in the huaraki gulf of auckland bew zealand The staff are great and attend to all of your needs . Plenty of off street parking . Sun-kissed beach pub serving refreshing cocktails, icy beers, and mouthwatering seafood. Vibrant atmosphere with live music, beachfront seating, and stunning sunset views. The perfect spot to unwind, socialize, and indulge in coastal delights. Cheers to beachside bliss!

My partner had the bacon Benedict and said it was one of the best heā€™s had. The eggs were perfectly cooked. I had the granola which was delicious (but hard to stuff up). Incredible views, lovely service. Great coffee too.

How wonderful to find a brilliant Charlieā€™s restaurant at Onetangi We thoughtfully enjoyed the meal local wines & beer . Staff so friendly, happy souls , funny & had time to chat with us, take photos etc . Clean toilets & great across from the beach Would return if in New Zealand again
Randi Ledbeter
Perfect lunch spot! Tuna poke bowl was delicious as was the shrimp and crayfish roll. Panhead Super Charger quenches your thirst after the beach!
Lego
Great coffee and food. Very friendly staff who went to great pains to retrieve a cell phone that slipped through the deck. Fantastic views!

Love this place. Came here for some afternoon cocktails and came back the next day for brunch. Coffee was amazing and brunch by the beach hearing the waves was chef's kiss. Would go back to Waiheke just to experience brunch there again.

Nice view, but things going expensive here, $28 hamburgers and $5 ginger beer Taste good but not enough for a man. P.s. the menu soaking in red wine is disgustingly stinky.

Usually a great restaurant pub with a fantastic beer garden but the day we were there for lunch.... they broke the golden rule.... they actually ran out of food. We waited for over an hour but the waiter kept saying to us that the kitchen is backed up and would we like another drink while we waited, which we did. We were eventually told by the waiter what the actual problem was, there was no more food. We paid our drinks bill and moved next door to eat where the food was fantastic along with reasonable pricing.

We visited this gastropub yesterday on a beautiful sunny day, and it was a delightful experience. The Cornish pastries we ordered were incredibly tasty, and the hot chocolate was rich and satisfying. The beers were also enjoyable. What stood out was the excellent service provided by the staff; they were incredibly helpful and attentive. This place has won our hearts, and it will definitely become our regular spot whenever we visit Waiheke Island.
Matt Bennett
A great place for a sit down breakfast before strolling across the beach. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the eggs benedict was delicious! Just don't leave food unattended if sitting outside, the seagulls are greedy as gannets and will swoop unattended tables in seconds šŸ˜‰

We tried Charlieā€™s today after being recommended by the taxi driver when we arrived to Waiheke. The fish and chips were good however the Charlieā€™s chowder was a bit more watered down, maybe a bit more reduction would have made the dish good. Overall however was a good experience with excellent views.

Brought my friends to waiheke island for a day trip and accidentally found this beach side cafe (we were lost). honestly recommend!
They were kinda busy by the time we went there but staffs greeted and seated us quickly. I wouldn't complain they dont do table service
cause u could def see how busy they were. I had the fish and chip which tasted very fresh and they had my chip crispy I liked it. my friends bang bang prawns was also great just wish it was a bigger portion! Salad was fine tho did not surprised us. But overall was great! worth a visit!

Wonderful views and a gorgeous place to eat. For me let down by the very average food. I had fish and chips without any flavour at all. The waitress was very nice but forgot our entree. I wouldnā€™t rush backšŸ˜

Great coffees, beautiful views and very friendly staff.Ā However, the chocolate cookie was too sweet and could have had half the amount of sugar.

Probably one of THE best places to get affordable, delicious food with great service on the island! Switching out normal fries for their Parmesan Truffle Fries was one of the best decisions of my life, and I actually enjoyed eating prawn for the first time in a while. Nice seating and views in front of the beach. Kinda weird as an Aucklander to see a restaurant selling merch but I guess I can see why :)

Came for breakfast 4 days in a row on a conference, please no more I can't eat excellent food day in day out. the service and calibre of the meals are amazingĀ this eatery punches above it's weight class,, great staff including theĀ chief attentive and entertaining. Highly recommend the venua and the views are excellent. great vantage point in the event of a Tsunami! Nothing was too troublesome for these guys even taking the coffe ordersĀ from my Aussie colleagues "long skinny" They even took my vegetarian order with a side order of bacon too. Love it Chaz Faz you're the BEST!
Coffee Macarons
Had a wonderful time here for lunch. Friendly staff and okay food. Awesome views from deck. Does not have allocated parking but has off-road parking near by.

Came here for breakfast while being in Waiheke and it was super busy so took a little while to get a table but the servers were lovely. I ordered the 'smashed avocado' and an orange juice. I found the smashed avocado to be quite salty because it already had salt & pepper on it which I'm not a fan of and I also didn't like the mozzarella that was on it as it was also quite salty. Overall the meal was good just a bit salty and I will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu as a lot sound really good. Definitely a must go to in Waiheke though and the view of Onetangi beach is gorgeous!
Ekaterina Vincent
We went there for lunch. I loved my choice (tuna poke), my mumā€™s dish was also very good, although for her it was a bit too strong (creamy sea food soup). And desserts were yummy as well. Definitely will be back!
Yen Retizos
Had lunch here during my birthday trip. The crab sandwich is a must try! Generous serving, too! Will definitely come back here when I visit Waiheke again.

Charley Farleyā€™s šŸ³ Love the weekend because it means brunch!! Where better to do this then outside by the ocean on Waiheke!? And this mean was fantastic, eggs poached perfectly and salmon was amazing! Definitely recommend giving Charleyā€™s a visit if youā€™re in Waiheke, followed by a long walk down Onetangi beach šŸ˜€
Reema
Lovely experience. Great food and delicious teas. Very family friendly and service is exceptional too. Must visit at Waiheke. Definitely coming back here again.
Preeti Bablani
This place is an absolute bliss overlooking the onetangi beach, good food and courteous staff. The service was a bit slow because of what we ordered. We ordered fish and chips and chicken sandwich. The quantity is a lot and is sufficient for two people easily. The fish was an absolute delight. Must try when in Waiheke.
Julia Louise
Friendly service with a lovely relaxed atmosphere right opposite the beach. The food was delicious and they have good gluten free options that are clearly marked on the menu.
Wendy33
Went there this evening for steak night. Enjoyed the food, although nothing to write home about.Ā Very cold. Most people still had there coats and scarves on. Hard to converse with people at my table. Very noisy. Music is turned up pretty loud which means everyone shouts to be heard at their tables. Have opted to go down the road before because I want to talk to my companions, not listen to the staff's choice of music. Not the place to linger over desert and coffee. Stick to sunny summer days on the deck for a beer or wine.
Wapatino
Their eggs benedict were pretty good. The bacon was nice and crispy and it had plenty of it. The location and ambiance are good too, right next to Onetangi beach. The food came out quite fat after ordering which is great!
Yanzdoronila22
Nice view since the resto is near the beach. Good food and great music. Amazing service. Highly recommended to tourists and visitors going to Waiheke island especially during summer and while enjoying their wine tour in the island.
Brandon Li
Absolutely disgusting seafood risotto, looks like a plate of sick! Donā€™t know whoā€™s idea was it to change the menu or chef, they got the guts to charge $35 for that crap! I should have sent both plates back. The service was awful, I had to walk to the counter to order food. This place has gone downhill. Sorry wonā€™t be back.
JJ
Iā€™m so tired of going through the same experience here:
-Order gets messed up or held up or forgotten
-Go to counter to enquire, to avoid massive queue go to person at bar/coffee machine only to be obviously ignored.
Instead of looking at me and ignoring me, at least say hi and get someone else to help if youā€™re busy. Baristas are in customer service too.
This has honestly happened 3 times. The manager was even rude to me because they were busy. Food isnā€™t good enough to warrant the hassle. Just get a beer or wine - they canā€™t mess that up - and enjoy the view.
Sau
Very sunny day at the Waiheke Island. Since it was spring time, it was very easy to get a seat. I tried the world famous Te Motuku Oyster and a glass of Kennedy Point Sav. The oyster was exceptionally juicy and the wine was refreshing!
Mikayla Plaziuk
Amazing location especially on a sunny day, LITERALLY on the beach!! Really decent priced, delicious and good quality food. My partner said his steak on his steak sandwich was better than the $70 one from cable bay vineyard! My pulled pork burger was delicious too, super flavoursome!! Nice relaxed vibe, definitely recommend coming here while your on waiheke purely just so you can sit in the sun on the beachfront while you eat, what more could you want?
Gus
If we were grading on view, C.F. gets a 5. The outdoor area with the wide view of Onetangi beach is a great place to enjoy a drink. We had burgers and chips, the kids had chicken bites. The chicken was a bit dry and a liitle too salty, the burger meat was a bit over processed but neither was terrible. Service was minimal but I wasn't expecting more, it was fine for a relaxed casual eatery by the sea
Yorkshire Pudding
Good food, great location.
Coffee was great. Service was pleasant. The chicken ceased salad was great.
The onion tart was dry, maybe it had Been sitting in the fridge a while.

I've come to the conclusion I'm getting too wordy on Zomato, too many adjectives.Ā
It's thyme to trim the fat. Ā Let's bullet point it.

- Charlie Farley's
- It's all about the view, not so much about the food or service.
- The outside seating is a superb setting to spend a morning brunch.
- Onetangi beach glistening right in front of you, can't beat it.
- The food, nothing wrong with it, presented well, but it's nothing you can't do at home either. Ā
- Fills a hole. Ā
- No table service, means standing in a queue at the counter to place orders.
- I don't think one person working at Charlie's cracked a smile that morning.
- Beer on tap, meaning that lazy brunch can very easily turn into a midday Saturday session, very dangerous and oh soo tempting! Ā And with a view like that, almost a certainty.

Verdict: One must not rely on the view alone to make an impression.

There are 2 main eateries on this stretch of Onetangi beach, Charlie Farley's and The Boathouse, we sampled both...
Frank
Sensational location almost on the water at Onetangi, this is a fun and breezy cafe bar where the local unqualified amateur diner can refresh themselves before heading down to the beach for a play. I had the salmon caesar, which is currently at the top of my caesar hall of fame at the moment! Definitely recommended!
Sugar_licks
Fabulous! Wonderful friendly staff, amazing sea view, relaxed vibe. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich it was huge, delicious with fresh cut ham, buttermilk fried chicken had good spice and a huge portion of fresh fried chips, onion and feta tart was delicious- this is a must try on Waihiki

Across the road from the beach, we stopped here for lunch on a wine tasting tour(which is another story). Food was average I must admit. Our group had 3 fish n chips and 3 chkn burgers....so its kinda like a collective review. There were 2 small oily pieces of fish with a plateful of fries to make up the volume. Chkn burgers had very little flavour and almost seemed like supermarket grade chkn tenders inside....some falling out on delivery to our table. Service was ok but I wouldn't go calling it friendly. The MOST annoying thing, esp if you're in a group (but all as 1 bill) is that you need to order and pay at the counter! How annoying is that if someone needs another drink....I had to constantly keep going to the till. There was enough staff and we were a professional work crew of 6 (admittedly from Akl!) Hold my visa if you want but walking back to the till each time just annoys the hell out of me.....and the aforementioned buildup of wine tasting went to waste somewhat :( Will try somewhere else on Waiheke next time.

Had a great time here. The food was tasty and well priced for the quality. Nothing too showy but it all worked well. The baby lived all the different aioli flavors. The barrister was talented and actually knew what he was doing. We'll done. Only down side is they failed to provide the free espresso and puppy as stated!

Ps, though not much says gluten free on the menu, there were a high quality buns available for the burgers and the staff were happy to go ask, and get an accurate answer from, the chef of what was in the food.

We ordered a grazing platter to share between 2. It comprises pork ribs which are very tender and the meat literally fall off with just a gentle pull with a fork. The sauce has an Asian touch to it but its on the salty side.

The popcorn chicken was made with chicken breast so its dry and tough. Would be better if they use thigh bits as the batter flavour was actually pretty okay.

The onion rings has got nice onion-y flavour and the fries could spend more time in the oil as the insides are a bit soft and sloppy while the surface is not particularly crunchy. It looks good but sad to say that its on the disappointing side as the overall texture when you bite into it is just not there.

My favorite part of the dish is actually the garlic toast. Its got a nice garlic flavour to it (although would be better if its stronger) and the thickness of the toast is just right for the hardness of the toast. The balance of thickness and hardness is just right in order for me to bite into it without breaking my teeth. It goes really well when we put bits of pork from the ribs on the toast and eat them together.

Overall a pretty okay dish. I feel that they should include something else to go with the garlic toast. Also, would be even better if they can include a seafood into this platter so there's a balance of the different kinds of meat in this dish. I also feel that there's too much deep frying for this dish. I think it would be better if they can include a seafood/chicken that is not deep fried so the overall texture of the whole platter can be more balanced. Right now I just feel that its a lazy (wo)man's dinner where everything is thrown into deep oil.

That said, the ambience was great, the staff was very friendly and its a nice casual bar restaurant with no pretense. Would go back again to try other dishes in future :)

Amazing location with a great deck optimized to take in the beach view. We were there on a Sunday morning and it was bustling. Service was a bit hectic and our meals in the party of 5 arrived sporadically. The bacon and egg role is a good option it certainly provided the grease hit I was looking for. Coffee was OK only, I will get an extra shot next time. Would go back.
Philippa Bannerman
Great location, really decent honest food, and a good vibe. I'd love to rate this higher but service needs to be sorted. I know it gets busy in summer but you guys should check out other busy cafes and pubs that still manage to keep things going. No, I don't want to wait 1 hour+ for food or 20 minutes for coffee. And I don't want a smart answer from a teenage waitress when I ask about it. Maybe pay a bit more for better staff that can run the place! You could really put the locals off!
Eden Wood
Stunning location with a beautiful outlook over Onetangi beach. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it is clearly a well known spot for visitors and locals on Waiheke so it's always busy. The menu had a wide range of food and there's also a cabinet of you just want something small. We ordered the seafood chowder, the meat platter and the zucchini fritters. The chowder was thick and creamy and everything a chowder should be. The platter was excellent value with a lovely selection of different meats, although the ribs were slightly grissly. Sadly the fritters didn't quite hit the spot and were dry and flavourless. The service was also mediocre. We had to ask for menus twice before getting them and the staff seemed very disinterested. We certainly didn't feel like valued customers! But the views and the food made up for it!

Was a public holiday so the wait for food and drinks was quite long although, totally understandable given how busy it was! Once we got our food, we couldn't have been happier - highly recommend the sliders. Perfect for a relaxed lunch after/before a swim at Onetangi beach :)

We visited Waiheke from the city yesterday and came to eat at Charlie Farley's for lunch. Plenty of seating so we decided to sit outside overlooking the beach - great location.
To drink we ordered a pimms with lemonade and a glass of house sauvignon blanc. The pimms was nice, albeit a little generous on the lemonade ratio. The house wine was tasty.
To eat we ordered the thai beef salad, sliders and a bowl of fries all to share. Portions were large so we certainly had enough food between the 2 of us! The fries were cooked well and served with a generous amount of ketchup and aioli. The thai beef salad was lovely and certainly the best we have had! The beef was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the accompanying salad was fresh and tasty. The sliders were also a delight. All the meats (fish, pulled pork and chicken) were succulent and seasoned well and paired perfectly with their sauces (tartare, bbq, peri peri). The bread was lovely as well, very soft and warm. Overall the food was incredible and we definitely couldn't fault any of it.
The only downside to the restaurant was the service, which was quite slow when ordering. We did approach the bar after dining for more drinks but left as it took too long to be served. Also, smoking is allowed in the outside dining area which is obviously legal, but unfortunate for non-smokers who don't want to be breathing in cigarette smoke. A lady did complain about this when we were there but I guess it comes with sitting outside!
Overall we had a great lunch. We would definitely visit again when next on the island! Good pricing too ($60 in total).

Gorgeous beachfront location.

We managed to grab a roadside table overlooking the beach. No table service outside but no hardship ordering at the counter.

Fish and chips were fresh and generous in size. The trio of sliders were tasty and filling and the raw bowl (accompanied by an order of chicken wings) went down a treat.

Plenty of local wines on the menu but (disappointingly) no local beer.

A lovely spot with food to match.
Mary Underwood
Average place to hang out but top location. Seating plentiful both inside and out. Menu average pub/bar fare. Would have rated higher but batter on the fish bites was bland and nearly burnt. Oil clearly too hot, also no flavour in the tartar sauce which accompanied it.
We chose three of the starters to share, sadly food took forever to arrive .
Farshid Hakimi
It's a first time I have been here and I tell you what it's is a best food I had so far.
Pork ribs we order was amazingly cooked and delicious and I loved it.
Fish was good too.
I really enjoyed joy eating Herr. Was not expecting.
Must recommend
Kiwi888
Was supposed to be the place to eat dinner on Onetangi however seemed more of a downmarket pub with all the prime tables beach side full of blokes drinking beer and smoking like chimneys. Ate inside which was a waste given the location. Food reasonable, service ok.
Levon Landesmann
was with a large group of friends and family yesterday, ordered the medium cooked steak sandwich , it came out so overdone and dry i could barely get it down , gave up after 2nd attempt, when it says medium sirloin you expect a half decent steak at least a bit pink not grey and tough and minute steak looking,i asked for a refund and a free drink i was refused a free drink and given my money back and sent on way, poor customer service, poor food quality , not happy
Tanz
Great location and big space restaurant. You can choose to sit either outside or inside. I ordered salt&pepper squid. It was nice; tender and tasty but the salad that came with was pretty bland. I'm not sure if they added any dressing but I couldn't taste anything and there was way too much red onion in there. And house aioli was average. There are rooms to improve for food here I believe.Ā Service was good and staff were friendly.
Temptation Cakes Auckland
WOW what a spot such a lush place to chill out with a few drinks and soak up the stunning beach views highly recommend heading to Waiheke for a meal here.

Outstanding location by the bay. Multiple sitting options but the place gets busy during peak hours. Food is really cool. Staff is friendly and courteous. Recommend this place before taking a walk on the beach.
Janelle T
Had the fish and chips with M Grey for lunch while she had the sliders and a large side of chips. The large side was big enough for two people.

For dinner, we got the grazing sampler. This definitely was worth the money. It came with ribs, chicken wings, battered fish, meatballs, garlic bread & these wonton type of flutes with shrimp inside. Everything was wonderful. We were about stuffed by the time we finished.

Overall, Charlie Farley's was a nice place to go for all meals. You can even bring your dogs into the area while you eat. There were several people just socializing with a nice beer or wine. It was also very convenient as the bus on Sunday didn't come until 6:30pm and we were in Onetangi without a car to hire.
Fiona M
This is a great spot for a drink in the sun on a beautiful day with a stunning outlook. However if you are wanting more than basic pub food I wouldn't recommend this place. For me, this is a drinks only venue.

I have dined at Charlie Farley's over the years and it has improved considerably. Before I
was laughed at by stuff when placing an order. Now, staff are friendly and polite. Food is excellent, priced well and portion size is excellent. If anyone comes to Onetangi I highly recommend Charley Farley's as place to visit. I highly recommend the shared platter when dining with two or more. Today I had half fries and pulled pork and caramelized onion quesadilla.
We're on Waiheke every October and CF's a great pl to have a meal @ before taking a walk on the beach. CF has a great varied menu. The salt and pepper squid w. Wasabi and lime mayo is always a fave w. us w. an ice cold brew.

This is actually my second time here and both times i found the food very nice. I had a roast beef blue cheese panini this time and the filling was fresh and good portion. Great views and friendly staff.

Our 'go-to' spot for breakfast when we're overnighting on Waiheke. Delicious, good sized breakfasts and great coffee to start the day. Never had a problem with service with staff or the wait for our meal. The beautiful view is just a bonus!
Gbuzz
Came here for lunch and it was super yum. We ordered and sat down and maybe 5 minutes later our food was out! Our food came before our coffee but I'm not complaining! I had the salt and pepper squid with the Wasabi and mayo dressing. It was so good. My friend has the Thai beef salad and that looked so good and she said it was yum, the beef was super tender.
Russell Hodgson
Great location right on the beach! But for me it could be done better.

So much potential, as it has no competition in the area apart from 4th ave but thats more a bar.

Coffee's were average to ok. And food was again just ok.

This place could and should be iconic.

But its just ok.
Mrspotandmrlid
An amazing spot on an amazing beach on an amazing day.. And that's where the amazing ends.
Is it wrong for me to get upset when our food arrives before our coffee? Actually perfect timing as we had finished our food when the coffee arrived so they could clear our plates which had been sitting empty for a while..
When told we didn't order extra toast but a side of hash browns there was no sorry just a oh ok...
No cutlery no clearing tables not a lot of anything really.. Lucky for the view.

Andrea
Visited Charlie Farley's on 5th December 2014.Ā

Ambience: wonderful environment, kickass view of the bay and plentiful outdoor seating.Ā

Food: Ordered the Zuchini and eggplant parmigana ($20) - the parmigana was delicious! The breadcrumb topping was crispy, and the filling was stuffed with cheese, eggplant and zuchini. One grouse though- the accompanying salad was incredibly oily and it was just torn up iceberg lettuce stems. Perhaps the oil from the parmigana dripped down onto the salad? Either case, the salad was very cheap and for $20, I was expecting a better quality salad. See the photo attached.

Ordered a calamari ($12) to share and it took a while to arrive. However, it was so worth the wait! It's lightly dusted in some paprika powder and it was delicious. The accompanying wasabi mayo was a bit runny though. Did not manage to take a photo.

Service: You have to order your dishes at the main counter and meals would be served to you. The lady at the counter was accommodating and friendly, but the lady who served us our meals was not as friendly. Also had to help ourselves to extra cutlery and ketchup as the waitress forgot to bring it.Ā

Overall: slightly on the expensive side, but the view is well worth the trip to Waiheke. Service was rather subpar but could be due to a full house.

thegrapefruitfoodie.wordpress.com

Went here last night for our work do ... The food was awesome , I had the prawns for my main meal and they were cooked perfectly .. Staff were friendly and service was very quick

What a great evening we had at Charlie Farleys! The seafood platter and veggie risotto was divine but we have to say that the service and engaging personality we had from Julia just made our night!! Just a great balance of great food (thanks chefs!) service and oodles of personality. We will most definitely be back with all our friends and family
Louise Fowler
The staff are soooo lovely. always made t.o feel welcome. This time around we shared the mixed seafood platter. Yum!! Between the four of us we didn't really needanything else. And they have a supply of blankets we could sit outside and enjoy the evening at the beach. Love you Charlie Farleys!!!
Louann McGregor
We have been here third day in a row today the first time we have had food today and mostly it was really nice but we mentioned the salad was very limp and I am sure it was just store bought coleslaw but very little reaction from wait staff. Also yesterday we heard a diner ask a wait person for water please and they were told it was on the bar and it wasn't actually that busy. I felt embarrassed for the foreigner asking for it.
Meeyoumee
Although a bit overpriced, we are locals who supported it all winter, and the food was always delicious, fresh, and with excellent service. We can count on CFs to serve fresh food with flair. It's never amazing but always consistently delicious, and never tastes canned. It's nice as a local to walk into a place even in summer when tourist $ abounds and feel valued, welcomed and always enjoy the food!
Haydn Curtis
Had a large group of people there for lunch today. I was the third person to order a chicken breast meal. After an extremely long wait, and 17 other people having there meals delivered to them, I thought I'd see where was meal was.

Male waiter commented that chicken breast takes a long time to cook and that the staff should have mentioned it to me.... It was him who took my order.

My chicken breast was bland and uninspiring. Also so overpriced it wasn't funny. It was interesting seeing how large the kids meal burgers were, and then seeing how small the adults meals were.

All in all, disappointing experience.

Won't be back

Ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner over two days. If you are in Onetangi, it really is the place to eat.

All the food was excellent. Standard cafe style food, lunch menu extends into dinner with a few additions.

Not a huge range on the desert menu at dinner time, but tasty anyway.

Service was a bit slow at dinner, but could've just been that they were in expectedly busy.

On Waiheke Island , I now go to Charlie Farley's .Been going to Onetangi since 1956 . Charlie Farley's is still good old fashion Waiheke service and style . What I like about it is that it dosen't matter if your a king or a worker on the land .Everyone is treated equal . The rest I will leave to the reader of this ,just look at Charlie Farley's photographs .Sea views ,sea food good beer for sale .Take the advise from a 50 plus year Waiheke visitor [have been a resident on the island].
Joe Raewyn
Great atmosphere, food is great at moderate price, the hostess Helen is as soothing as you you get, highly recommended, my wife and I had dinner Friday night, spaggattie boll to die for , back again Sun night for the best steak I have had in years.
David Boshier
Our company had its Christmas event lunch at Charlie Farley's. We had a large range from the menu and nobody was disappointed in the food. The ribs and beef salad were standouts.

Service was friendly and engaging and all up it was good value for the money.

The location can not be beaten for a few beers by the sea on a sunny day.

Take your togs.

Charlies is a wonderful place to sit and eat lunch or breaky at.
Stunning spot right on the beach.
They're food is basic kiwi stuff: Fish and chips, sandwiches, soup, wraps etc.
Don't get me wrong i love the food its great to have a good Kiwiana meal looking over the water and appreciate our unique country.
