Review The Heke Waiheke - Onetangi

Good service. A big menu with lots of options. Friendly staff. Great food and drinks. Ample car parking facilities. Toilets available. The staff were very friendly and provided quick service even though that was a busy day.

Heke restaurant serves possibly the best wood-fired pizza bases I've ever tasted - fluffy and flavorful! However, the capricciosa pizza's cheese lacked taste and was somewhat bland. It's a shame the margarita pizza was not on the latest menu. The atmosphere is really good, as the place was packed during Sunday lunchtime. Booking in advance is highly recommended. Even sitting outdoors in July, the presence of a fireplace and overhead heaters kept us nice and toasty. This restaurant is perfect for families with kids, as there are plenty of outdoor activities, including a trampoline pillow and a sandpit. Additionally, we had a fantastic waiter who contributed to the overall good vibes.

The Heke is a must do when visiting Waiheke. We were there for dinner last night and had their classics, Smash Burger and Southern Fried Chicken, washed down with Heke beer, and it was amazing. So amazing we had to go back at lunch today to try the puffed bread, the baked fish, chicken kebab and roasted pumpkin … all were next level good. The team were fabulous and the setting is so cool. The kids also loved the grounds and the bouncy pillow. Just booked to go again!

Beautiful food, service was amazing. Only down side was it was freeeeezing. The kind waitress sat us next to a heater but it was still v cold... kids played outside on this huge tramp but it was wet and they got v dirty. Even next to the open fire it was cold. Great delicious food & cocktails and service was speedy. Did a Whisky tasting for fun which was good too but rather expensive at $35.

The tasting/flights was OK, would have been better with a specific menu for that area. Enjoyed the first three beers, but the fourth being an Apple Cider was a bit of a let down.

We had the most incredible experience at The Heke! First time visitors and we were impressed. The service was fast and friendly, food was amazing and affordable and the venue was beautiful! We will be back. Thanks team!

Awesome dining experience! great atmosphere, beautiful food, and the best service we’ve had in years from Harry (our waiter), who was attentive, super friendly and a real character. Particularly impressed with his sense of humour - his reference of “warm potato salad with tomato emulsion” (fries & ketchup) was a highlight. Will definitely be back!

Beware.. you may find yourself cancelling other lunch arrangements to return to Heke a second.. third or maybe fourth time. These guys have amazing food, beer, spirits and tastings. There’s a reason these guys have 300+ 5 star reviews. Amazing atmosphere and seating options also. My wife and I attended on our honeymoon and staff bent over backwards for us. She is gluten intolerant (and me by proxy) and we probably had one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my time forcibly eating gluten free bases. Can’t rate this highly enough. Beers are good and tasting paddles are great value. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Allergy friendly. Sitting for 2 hours drinking great beer friendly.

Beautiful brewery in beautiful surroundings. Had the tasting flight of beers and the smashed burger. All delicious. The restaurant is lovely and rustic. They had the wood fire on and it was extremely cozy. Wish I lived on Waiheke so that I could have Heke as my local.

One of the best place in waiheke island. You can enjoy the view with some tasty food pair with a homemade beer or spirit. You can also discover their distillery and brewing where you can enjoy some of their spirit and beer.
