The chef and bar man Misha is brilliant steak is one of best in Orewa he always remembers your drink everytime you go and his service he goes above and beyond 😀

The staff are great, from management to chef's. Good family vibe. Had baby shower there, ladies did there thing, gas bagged, games etc. Guys well the adult thing, talk pu-kax and got rotten lol.

Great atmosphere, good food/beer and the bonus of a free pool table.

I stop off here before visiting my father. Always been welcoming even for a country 'lad' and feels like a natural watering hole for me. Good prices too.

Best night in years. Great atmosphere....excellent band....a must if your in orewa and Bogans Heroes are playing.

Very friendly staff. . patrons who frequent the bar are friendly too. Food has good big enough helpings . Everything I've eaten so far has been good. Often have midweek special on medal or alcohol. They make cocktails . They may not make ALL the cocktails under the sun but they have about 8 on menu but the staff would probably go out of their way and make you a cocktail you wanted if you told them what was in it. That's how cool they are there . Close to New world and Countdown and tons of other shops from food shops to other eateries to clothing places to community services . They have bands playing some night. Have inside and outside seating . Outside seating is shades it you can collapse the umbrellas and enjoy the sun . Have TV have a pool table . Parking on parking lot where they are or I safe street parking . Safe location

Best Burger I've had since coming to New Zealand from America and one of the best I've had anywhere. The beef patty is thick, and perfectly prepared. Wednesday nights are a Burger lover's dream with build your own and a pint! Free pool and darts, great friendly staff and an excellent cook. 5 stars. Only down side for me was a little too much salt on the fries, but I must admit I don't like salt so for others might be just fine.

Fun little bar with nice owners. Big space for impromptu karaoke with tons of microphones. We met a lot of really nice people there and had a great time watching the All Blacks. I would definitely recommend coming here if you’re staying in Orewa. It wasn’t a bad walk from the holiday park either.

Fun evening, nice vibe good choice of drinks. Service great.

We regularly go to Muldoons, food very reasonably priced and have never been disappointed with quality.  The steak meal is very good, huge piece of steak  and always super tender.  It is nice to feel it is our local and deserve more diners.

Went here yesterday, a Sunday, to hear live jazz, which was very enjoyable and well attended. It looked more like a bar/bar than a bar/restaurant but since I was chatting with someone after I decided to order food as well. I had the fish and chips which came with salad which had a good dressing drizzled over, very nice chips, just perfect. The fish had butter and capers sauce and was terrific. It cost $18 which I thought was really reasonable.<br/><br/>It's not a super glamorous looking room, but the bar is nice, formal and traditional. The staff friendly, in particular the male bar attendant, who was also the food server and order taker. It's a great location, with the sea just a short block away in a busy, buzzy part of the Orewa complex.

Unfortunate dinner on Saturday night. Ordered the nachos w sour cream and chiili sauce as well as the beef and Guinness pie w mashed potato. Asked for The chili sauce on the side as we were sharing and one of us can't eat chilli.<br/>After 25 mins we asked how much longer we would have to wait...server said he would check ... unsure if he did as he didn't return.<br/><br/>After 45 minutes are food arrived. <br/><br/>The beef and Guinness pie w mashed potato was lovely...pie was delightfully hot but the mash was only just warm....so I'm presuming they were heated first and sat cooling whilst pie was still heating...very basic mistake so wasn't very impressed. Also came w a side of chilli sauce? Why?<br/><br/>Nachos looked lovely but had chilli sauce all over them...so had to send them back....meaning another wait.<br/><br/>After 20 mins still no replacement nachos and the Pie was finished.<br/><br/>We ended up getting our money back and leaving confused, disappointed and hungry.<br/><br/>Very basic mistakes which lead me to believe the head chef needs to get the kitchen retrained.<br/><br/>

you need to change this as the menu now is very limited and was awful, if you cant even get basic right you need to change yr chef, used to be great but not now,  what happened???

Terrible service terrible food beer was cold I guess so that was good don't see me ever going back to muldoons sad used to be such a good place <br/>

Unimpressed and disappointed! Don't be fooled by its  welcoming atmosphere  this place is the worst. The waiter was very rude and impatient and the food was mediocre. Would not recommend

got to hand it to the new owners, they have done an amazing job with the food.  This is my second time here and the pizza was probably one of the best pizzas we have ever had...parents ordered the pulled pork pizza and kicked total ass against takeaways such as hells and dominos...very very cheap too only about 16 dollars and you actually could not finish one on your own...all other ordered food amazing too....there is real effort that has gone into what they serve and it deserves to be busier.... our waitress was  lovely, she made a real effort and even helped us get a table in the bar with the band...ambiance needs a bit of a makeover, but hey no complaints here, made up for it in service and good well priced food...definite points to the chefs and wait staff...and totally recommend a visit...

My friends and I came here as it was nearby for my friend's farewell. <br/><br/>We ordered the general pub food - fish & chips. There's not much to say as it's essentially the same everywhere. Deep fried goodness. <br/><br/>We mostly ordered the different types of beer, with the exception of my black label whiskey & coke. <br/><br/>The service was nice, the lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful with drink choices, although options seem fairly limited.

Went to Muldoon’s on Thursday 18 June after seeing ad advertisement on their TV screen the week before. The advertisement suggested that you get either a Steak or Fish meal for $5. I had my entire family plus I had invited a friend of mine and their family alone to dine with us. After I ordered my 3 meals and drinks I was charged $42? I asked for a GST receipt to see what exactly they had charged for?<br/>It was the following<br/>$5 Fish<br/>$5 Chips<br/>$5 Fish<br/>$5 Chips<br/>$5 Fish<br/>$5 Chips<br/>$9 Guinness<br/>$1.50 Soda & Lime<br/>$1.50 Soda & Lime<br/>$42.00<br/><br/>So I said to the lady there had been a mistake as the meals were only $5. She then informed me that each item was $5?????<br/>On the TV advertisement I had seen in there bar it said $5 Steak or $5 Fish day every Thursday from 12pm-9pm and then it had a picture of;<br/>Steak, eggs, chips, salad<br/>Fish, Chips, Salad<br/><br/>So the advertisement inferred that for $5 you got a meal, but this was the con they then told me on the night it was $5 per item, which wasn’t on the TV advertisement at all, so very misleading indeed.<br/><br/>I then asked to talk to the manager and Megan Donegan then spoke to me and said “If your unhappy then I can refund your money and cancel your meals”, which is not the nicest way of dealing with a customer? I had my young family and it was already 7.08pm and my kids are usually going to bed by 7.30/8pm so there wasn’t time for me to go to another restaurant and get food for my family. It was also really embarrassing as I had bought my friend and family and after informing them of the deal they came along that night as well, they also have young kids.<br/><br/>So after talking further with Megan she informs me that she is just the day manager and the real manger I should be speaking to is Janelle Denny.<br/><br/>I have called Jenelle on her cell phone 4 or 5 times and I have left a message for her to contact me back and after 5 days she hasn’t returned my call.<br/><br/>So firstly I would like someone from management to contact me ASAP, so I can discuss this matter with them.<br/><br/>If I haven’t heard from anyone by the end of today then tomorrow I will take the matter up with the commerce commission as I have photos of the TV advertisement as well as blackboard advertisements outside the venue on the night.<br/><br/>I look forward to hearing from someone, who can explain the misleading advertisements to me?

Pub grub - has a new chef since late 2013 and since the new chef has taken over we don't really enjoy the menu or food any more. We used to go there to eat, now we go there to drink and prefer to eat elsewhere.
