Review Secret Thai Garden - Otahuhu

Chris Calder
Beautiful setting with friendly staff. Super authentic food with a great range, and very reasonably priced. We booked to make sure we got a table. Catered for all food types as far as I could tell . Parking outside is limited, but across the road there was plenty. A totally enjoyable experience. Definitely will be going back if I am ever in the area!! 😍

Fantastic Thai restaurant... Quick and polite service for food and drinks ( In early before it got busy ). My Green curry had a great level of kick to it. Can't wait to go back...

Good vegan options! Although the pepper garlic tofu was very bland. The vege pad Thai was very good. $7 corkage for BYO which is very reasonable. The food was a good portion size. The service was a little slow but th food came out very quickly after we ordered. The place is beautiful and decorations are awesome. Night time dinner I would suggest bringing a jacket as it was quite cold even with heaters.

Amazing food a little pricey considering portions are small..but over all food was delicious & wuick service

Been coming here for years. My family really enjoy this place and we have had multiple birthdays here. It's such a beautiful place and definitely one of the most prettiest places to eat in South Auckland. It feels like your in another country. We usually get the set menu because it's so much easier when you have a big group. Food is great and the portions are perfect too. I love how they have ice cream now, they used to only give fruit but now have a few ice cream dishes to pick from, which is perfect for the kiddies. Will continue coming for more celebrations.

Loved the food and the range of food available. Really loved the atmosphere and decor. Great having it broken up into smaller, spaces rather than a huge open plan room. Lots of character. This is a restaurant I would recommend and return to.
Di Smiler
Great place!!!! Loved the atmosphere , just a little chilly lol, food good and arrived quickly. Really liked it

Great, tasty food with excellent service - we didn't have to wait too long for our food/drinks to be served. The portion sizes are pretty decent so the value for money is good. We first dined at Secret Thai Garden about 3 years ago and went again for dinner last night. The only thing I would say, is that the ground is uneven/different heights throughout the restaurant so not the best for elderly, or if you have a pram. Other than that, it's such a neat spot to eat - totally hidden away from the public view and nicely decorated.

Just the atmosphere and the decorations itself is worth the visit. Food is good, but the portion is small given the asking price for each dish. Will return again for the Thai vibe.

As a final farewell dinner before Secret Thai Garden closes at the end of the year, we dined in before our theatre show and enjoyed the beautiful exotic interiors of this other worldly restaurant. We once again, enjoyed the warm hospitable service and were able to get our dishes brought out at once. We thoroughly savoured our Chef’s Selection entrees with Garlic Pepper Prawns and Thai Beef Salad. The food was excellent and the entire dining experience was wonderful! Highly recommended!

Such a beautiful place to go. A must visit for everyone! Beautiful food. Friendly helpful talkative staff. The owner is a lovely soul herself. All the best in the future. Am still guttered that you won't be still around for long

This place provides not only nice and affordable food but an expirience. The atmosphere is great and very artistic. You feel like in some corner of Thailand. Staff is friendly and efficient. We ordered Pad See with prawns which was really tasty and Green curry with chicken. Chicken was a bit dry but source was good. It's a shame this restaurant is located in a industrial area. It'd be very popular in different parts of the city.

Went there for Christmas party. Ambience is very impressive and unique. I went again and they made a mistake in my food. Ordered vegetarian food and they made it with oyster sauce. They immediately replaced my order. Great service!! But the taste was not that much good compared to first time visit.
Vi Duc Phan
Great food at reasonable price. The restaurant space is huge.

love the setting with the night time lighting and garden feel really a surprising and enjoyable short walk to be seated. was a bit confused at first haha. food was pretty good too

Wonderful ambience. It's a perfect thai themed restaurant. Food is delicious. Portions are good for the price. Great place for a small family party.

Very cute, and quite photogenic. The owner told us they sold the restaurant so will be closing down at end of the year. But I would def like to go back again before they do. <br/><br/>Made me feel like I was back in south east Asia.<br/><br/>The service is a bit slow, and heaps of mozzie if you go in summer, but very great atmosphere.
Medium_Rare
Absolutely massive space and quite an peculiar layout. Many people have taken a photo of the fabulous entrance into the restaurant, and I’ll agree it’s a nice short walk. Ordered a Larb and PLa-moo Ya’ang. The food wasn’t too bad and came out quick. I liked the way the meals were plated and that they give your rice in a cone shape. I can’t remember this place being memorable, but I appreciate the fact that they are trying to give you an experience. <br/><br/>Showstopper: Larb was quite nice and the layout holds a certain novelty.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B

What a great dining experience. The setting/ambiance is completely unique . The food was absolutely delicious as well. Satay prawn was so tasty. Will definitely go again

Yummy, authentic Thai cuisine. Great customer service. Well priced with decent size portions. This place has become a favourite of mine. I highly recommend to all!

I’ve always enjoyed my time dining here! Great food, service and ambiance. Never had a bad experience here. So sad that it will be closing down soon!

I have been here several times and love the decor and ambience. It's a beautiful restaurant and very special to eat in. The service when we came last night was a bit slow. I have always thought the food here was a great quality. Last night for an entree , I had the Thai fish cakes. They had an amazing flavour, the perfect amount of chilli and I loved the texture, I could eat these every day! For main I had the pad Thai. It was disappointing. It had an unusual tomato sauce flavour to it and was not what I was used to. However,it's the only dish that has ever let me down here, and my husband loved his Tom yum goong soup and his larb
The Kai King
Loooove this place, it’s definitely south Auckland hidden gem which is why it’s probably called SECRET Thai Garden? Love the spring rolls and curry puffs. They come with a delicious homemade peanut or sweet chilli sauce.

In love with this place. You step into this magic place, it's so busy but very well organized. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu

Came here today with my family and 2 close friends with their toddler.<br/><br/>Great ambience. Decent staff. Slow service. Small portions. Average taste. A tad expensive.<br/><br/>My son had his eyes full on the attractive set up and decors of the place. He particularly liked the tuktuk and the mini koi pond.<br/><br/>Most staff were friendly and attentive, except for one who obviously appeared she had enough for the day.<br/><br/>I heard other diners complaining about how slow they were getting the meals. True enough, ours took a good 45 minutes to be served.<br/><br/>I was underwhelmed by the portions. For dishes in the 20 to 25 dollar range, I expected bigger sizes.<br/><br/>For starters we had:<br/>Fish cake - taste was okay. I thought some Thai takeaways offer the same for half the price.<br/>Spring rolls - truly delectable, but it got a bit too greasy for me when I had my third piece.<br/><br/>Mains<br/>Thai chicken fried rice - nothing spectacular. We devoured it in no time coz of our hunger though.<br/>Beef in oyster sauce - our default dish; son loved the sauce and the tender meat slices.<br/>Seafood tom yum - soup was too sweet for my liking.<br/>Seafood pad thai - overcooked noodles, my friend thought it was too wet.<br/>Chicken mussaman curry - definitely the star of the night. Mildly spiced and perfectly seasoned, all of us liked it.<br/><br/>We paid 146 dollars for everything (nil drinks). What do you guys think? For me it was pricey.<br/><br/>

Last night called for a celebration as I got my results that I passed another exam! Other commitments lead us to south Auckland and I knew this was in the area, so thought why not try it out.<br/><br/>We arrived at 8 ish with no booking and this place was still pretty busy. Taking our order took a while but once the food arrived we were pretty happy. <br/>The curry puffs were a hit, some of the best we have had. Pity the price was only for 3 not 4 like other places.<br/>The chicken skewers we good, a lot of satay sauce, chicken was a little dry though.<br/>My partner got red Thai curry. This had a little kick to it. He was stoked with the size of it and the amount of chicken in it compared to other places. I ordered basil chicken. Again the serving size was great and had a lot of chicken . Rice had to be order separately but one per person was enough.<br/><br/>The decor and setting of this place is amazing,it makes you forget you are even in Auckland.<br/><br/>Would definetly return if we were in the area again.
Adrina T
Lovely resturant and very well hidden. Food was delicious, service was a bit slow and it did take a while for the food to be brought out but aside from that staff were very friendly and the place was nice.
Brent Henri
Love this little hidden gem. The food is so dam yum. The Thai red curry was so good. Only complaints are that it took a little while to be served as well as the food took a little while to be served . To be fair they were busy. The food made up for it. Can get a little pricey but overall worth it. Will definitely go again.
Shirley
Can't really fault much this restaurant is great, Scene here is beautiful especially entering the restaurant (dinner time) Staff are absolutely amazing and always go the extra mile to make it enjoyable. Appreciate that they ask first before serving whether we have all the meals come out at the same time or to bring them when a dish is ready. would recommend to friends to try this place out :)
Robin Singh Lally
Ordered green curry with tofu, even though they were really busy but the food didn’t take that long. The tofu was fresh👌🏽staff was friendly too. Highly recommended😋

Secret Thai Garden is located in Otahuhu, South Auckland. I've had a lot of people stick their noses up in the air at the location, to their loss. This is a hidden gem. <br/><br/>This place is beautifully decorated, in an authentic Thai way. There are Buddhas, fairy lights, a pond with fish, a tuk tuk... you feel like you could be eating in Thailand. This is an outside restaurant, to give that 'garden' feel. The staff are very friendly and service is fast. <br/><br/>The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are large. It's vegetarian and vegan friendly - you'll be spoiled for choice. I had the Pad See-iew Jay.<br/><br/>This is the ideal place for group functions (birthdays, business, anniversaries) and dinner dates. Kids will like it here too. <br/><br/>It gets very busy, so its best to make a booking, even for a table for two.

The place are a little far and hidden but definitely worth the journey! It has beautiful walkway with unique decor before reaching the restaurant. For those that like to take picture this place is insta worthy! 😄 The food are authentic and delicious with big portion! And the staff are always so friendly to help you take picture whenever you want! 👍🏻<br/><br/>Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Services: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a nice surprise dinner with my wifey as she has never been here before. The only disappointment I had was I couldn't get the set banquet menu as they have changed it to minimum of 4 people but that's ok the waiter was more than helpful. So we ordered a chefs entree platter and some prawn toast. Which was nice the only thing I didn't like was I think the fish cake which had the texture of rubber but the rest of it was nice. Then we ordered a beef rendang and a chicken pad Thai. Both were so tasty and delicious. The atmosphere was perfect and for those who know the secret garden will know what a little gem this is situated in otahuhu

I have been here for dinner twice and I loved the experience both times. Especially the food and the service provided by the staff. The downside however, is the place tends to get cold.
Jessica Graydon
Venue lives up to its name. The Food is amazing and the atmosphere to dine in is beautiful. Definitely the best quality Thai food we have had so far.
Alley Tomai
Great food, nice setting, amazing staff and excellent service. My first time here was tonight with my family and who would have thought this secret lil gem was at the back of Otahuhu. I definitely be coming back.
Sheenal
Nice food. Nice environment. Nice service. Nothing to extraordinary, but overall nice. The cuisines were delicious, great for people who enjoy Asian food

Walking into this restaurant is quite special. The ambience is something I have not seen much of in Auckland, and my friends really enjoyed dining at this unique setting. We were quite a large group and ordered course meals & did not really have a choice for the menu. Secret Thai Garden is quite expensive and the food is average, but it provides an interesting dining experience. It also has a bar and does BYO for wines.
Emma Diack
A really exciting different environment. We had the banquet meal, food was really good.  Dessert was  average but it didn't really matter as we'd enjoyed mains so much.
Liz
I went with friends and family. Food was nice. Atmosphere was great and decor is very beautiful, I really like that water feature area. I enjoyed my dinner. Staff were friendly.

If you've been to Thailand, this place will bring back some memories. Bright led lights, patterned table clothes, wooden statues and even a few tuck tucks add character and interest to this restaurant. An odd location down a dark ally off the main road in Otahuhu but it adds to the beauty of the restaurant - it really is a hidden gem! <br/><br/>Surprisingly big, the tables are well spread out and there's plenty of them too. Ideal for groups or a date night they serve both a la carte and buffet. The service is very good. The staff are friendly and efficient. Our food arrived quickly considering how busy it was. <br/><br/>We ordered the Pad See-eiw Jay and the Pad Mad Ma-meung. Value for money isn't as good as some places due to the portions but the taste is there. The Pad See-eiw has always been a favourite of mine and it didn't disappoint. The Pad Mad was good and had a nice tasty sauce.<br/><br/>Definitely worth checking out for all thai food or even Thailand lovers as it will make you feel like your overseas.

Came here for a birthday party/family reunion. Was absolutely stunned by the entrance way it was so gorgeous and ethnic looking. (though I have to say the incense was overwhelming, there was alot of it) We had a booked out area out the back that was full of long tables and smaller tables which I thought was really nice. The food was a buffet and the spread was amazing. There were spring rolls, pad thai, thai version of spicy chicken nibbles and lots of other foods that I didn't get around to eating. One plate was enough. If you are looking for a real food experience,  I would put this place on your list.
Chai Paani
This place is all about the ambience. It really is the best kept secret in Otahuhu. If you were standing out on the street it gives away nothing but the experience begins the moment you enter. I took my parents here and they were impressed. Its lovely and its always busy, so make a reservation if you intend to visit.<br/>Service is good too, staff are friendly and there are a few of them around. <br/>The food however, probably doesn't live up to expectations although its not too bad either. For entree we tried the Prawn Tempura, Fish cakes, and Angel wings - all pretty good. For mains we ordered the Thai Fried Rice, Pad Thai and Sweet Basil Chicken stir fry - which were ok. <br/>Overall, it's a place to go if you feel like going somewhere nice.

We ordered takeaways from here last week. Food was really delicious.<br/>We had Spring Rolls and Curry Puffs for entree, then Massaman Chicken Curry, Yellow Vege Curry and Chicken Cashew Stir Fry.<br/>All the food was amazing and there was enough for the 3 of us to have lunch the next day.<br/>At $80ish dollars it was a bit pricey but as you eat the food you get mouthfuls of spices and tastes that show that they use all the correct ingredients rather than just a flavoured sauce.<br/><br/>I'll be keen to dine in at some stage because the restaurant looks amazing. I've never been to Thailand but it reminds me of walking into a genuine style restaurant in Bali.<br/>My only criticism is that for $12 you only get 3 Curry Puff which seems a little bit ridiculous...
Sonya Coop
We nearly didn't come to this restaurant because we had read some negative reviews about the food.  We are glad that we did try the Secret Garden Restaurant out because our family of 8, really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at this place.  It was such a lovely surprise walking into this restaurant.  It was such a good experience.  The food was lovely and we enjoyed everything.  We will definitely come again :)
Trudie Leota
Ambience was amazing but too overpriced...4-5 dollars more expensive than other Thai restaurants with equal quality of food..portion sizes small so quite a disappointing experience
Stevie Marino
Such a pretty place, nice and serene, it is like stepping into another country! <br/><br/>Food was delicious! I had the Green Curry and It was probably one of the best ones  I have ever had. <br/>Service was great and quick too.

This is a popular Thai restaurant in Otahuhu. Always busy so book ahead. Pleasant outdoorsy setting which is lovely in summer but still warm in the winter months. The food would probably be considered average by Thai nationals but they appeal to the mainly Western clientele and regulars. You won't find too many Thai diners here except for the staff. I like the ambience but I get a better Thai fix from the various stalls at the nearby Otahuhu Ethnic Food Court. But that's just me....
Foodiegirlnz
Very disappointed for my dinner tonight. The vegetarian tom Yum soup was lukewarm. Veggie pad Thai was overly sweet and sticky and lack of depth. Deep fry tofu was Below average, not much taste at all. The only thing I enjoy is the veggie spring roll and the day deco.
Tina Pio Luani-Rod Nansen
Always a wonderful time here. Beautiful food and lovely service. I've been here at least 7 times in the past 5 years and cannot complain. The family who own this restaurant have built a beautiful dream of their Thailand and right in the heart of Otahuhu, who would think?! Lovely always! Due for my next visit too!

Went here with a group for a catch up dinner and well I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere ,surroundings and the service I give 5/5. The food well it was simply delicious and was a happy bird that was ready to pop due to a full tummy. Met the owners and they are generous people and told us how the restaurant came to be which was neat. Would definitely go back.
Arpita Mandal
A really really beautiful looking thai place. Probably the best looking one in Auckland just amazing ambience. I love the entrance area to the restaurant.<br/><br/>The food is great too but could have more choice and changes to the menu. We don't fancy the wine list much.<br/><br/>Also the place is always busy and full. Booking could be really hard if not made well in advance.<br/><br/>
FJ
First time here, booked it for a Christmas party as was recommended and loved it all. Was extremely busy so would recommend booking even for a Monday night. Decor was lovely. Loved the fairy lights and the spaces all spread out. Food was great. We had lots of entrees and different mains. Very generous servings. Lovely wait staff who were helpful and friendly especially as 2 of my party couldn't arrive til after we had got food. They made sure they were fed quickly with us. Can't fault the place. A real hidden gem. Can't wait to return.

Hidden away in Otahuhu who knew there was such a place!<br/><br/>Ambience and atmosphere gets top marks. You feel like you've stepped out of South Auckland and into a Forrest. It's quite refreshing to feel like you're dining in a forrest.<br/><br/>Food wise is pretty lack lustre. Average food. It's a real shame because this place would've gotten a 5 rating if it wasn't for the food. The 3.5 is for the decor and dining area.
Shirley
Love this place !!! Food is delicious, atmosphere amazing, staff always lovely I have been going there for a few years now and have only found out this year that they do takeaways yum !!
Kelly
We came here for a work dinner, booked a table for 10 and of course more of us came along than expected haha.<br/><br/> Staff were friendly and accommodating and seat 14 of us on the same table! Great stuff.<br/>Meals came out all together which was really nice, no one was left behind. <br/> <br/>Let me just say walking in you definitely feel like you've been teleported back to Thailand! Beautiful decor from the wooden statues and features, to fairy lights, to various tuktuks haha. <br/> <br/> Tonight the food was enjoyable, everyone loved their dishes. I got the yum goong, red chicken curry, and vege fried rice was ordered from a college (the rest I couldn't take photos of haha) <br/> The yum goong was a prawn dish, nicely cooked prawns although I must say it was a small portion for what you get, but nicely flavoured. Would be a great salad for summer time!<br/> The red curry was absolutely delicious! Devoured it all completely, had a nice kick to it and plenty of meat and veges. I personally did not try the fried rice but my colleagues are vegetarians and loved it!<br/><br/> Food has improved since a few years ago when I last visited, I would say this restaurant in particular sticks true to traditional Thai cuisine than most other Thai restaurants around Auckland. <br/> I'd highly recommend, great location for a date or group gathering ☺️<br/><br/> One thing to mention I wish they had cocktails on the menu!!
Evaline Shandil
Went here not expecting much as its in otahuhu (sorry for the stereotype but it's true) however I was shocked, in a good way off course. The inside is very traditional and pretty. You wouldn't expect that by looking at it from the outside. <br/><br/>The service was great even though it was packed (& it usually is). The food was delicious (although the rice needs to be bought separately which I think is stupid) <br/><br/>Overall loved the service, food & the ambience
Debi Barrett
We dined here last night as a party of 12ppl. The service, surroundings, food was Spectacular. We had the banquet from entree to fruit platter for dessert was perfect. I have been recommended to this place so many times and never got there till now. Cant believe we have missed this hidden gem our doorstep. The surroundings made you feel like you were in another country. Looking forward to dining here again in the future.

I love the idea of this place.<br/>The fact it used to be a backyard that was turned into a restaurant in the heart of South Auckland is so unexpected, but it's now a relatively well known spot throughout the extended Auckland area.<br/><br/>The atmosphere is relaxing, and makes you feel like you've stepped into another country. I had to keep reminding myself I was in Auckland the whole time o was there.<br/>The decor is adorable and interesting, even if Thai food isn't your thing this place is interesting to dine at because of the premises itself!<br/><br/>We ordered the set menu with spring rolls, fish cakes and chicken wings for starters, and yellow curry, pad Thai, stir fry for mains.<br/><br/>The starters were pretty lack lustre, and under seasoned. The sauces provided were tasty but still weren't enough to help the starters taste wise, they were still relatively bland.<br/><br/>The mains were better!<br/>The yellow curry was tasty, the stir fry was also good.<br/>About what you would expect as far as standard Thai food goes.<br/>The sauce used to cook the stir fry was really good, but it carried the dish, rather than the flavours of the meat and Veges.<br/><br/>The food was above average as far as general, stereotypical Thai food goes. I would suggest sticking to the generic Thai foods you'd expect from a mainstream Thai place, as these are the ones they have made well.<br/><br/>With a bit of work, this place has potential to serve great food, but it's not quite there yet.

Came here for dinner. The place looks wonderful! It's so good to feel like you've stepped away from dreary Auckland for a bit. The staff were very nice and attentive, seating us near the heater which was a bonus. I ordered the set menu. I usually dislike Thai food, but I feel that there just isn't a place I've gone to that has quality I find acceptable. The entrees were too oily. The sauces provided were delicious, however the flavours of the tofu and chicken were drowned out by the amount of residue oil. The chicken soup had an enjoyable broth. The coriander and onion taste was strong, with only a mild heat with the chilli. The chicken however was tough and took away from an otherwise enjoyable soup. The main consisted of sweet an sour type pad thai, a bok choy dish, a chicken curry and a prawn dish. The bok choy was good, however the flavours felt like anything I could get at a takeaways. The prawns were de-vained thank God! They were cooked well, yet again the flavours are much like a takeaway. The pad thai was a sweet change to the other two dishes. The noodles were clumpy together, yet it jus felt easily comparable to many other much cheaper places. The chicken curry also consisted of overcooked chicken. The broth wasn't exactly anything to be excited about. The food was a let down to be honest. My only thought while I was there was to go to Saan and hope that they can finally prove to me that Thai food is actually good. For $40 each, this dinner was not worth my money. I can see why I took so long to try it...I should listen to my intuition more.

Love this place. Service is always good. This place is such a hidden gem. So many cool different areas. Love the entrance too. Such a good place to have large functions too.
Natasha Kumar
The food was good and the service was great as well. Nice little location you wouldn't expect in little old Otahuhu. Got to chat with the main owner, she was lovely and told us they have been located here for 14 years. Defiantly a secret Thai garden!
Chrissy Kani
OMG this place is awesome! The atmosphere is amazing with a simple but really good menu also the staff are very friendly and attentive. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a bit of a change from the norm resturant settings!!!....would return wholeheartedly <br/>
Aleesha
This place does not disappoint! Walk in and you literally feel like you have been transported to Thailand. The decor is amazing! The service is great and food awesome and came out really quickly. Can't wait to go back again. Book in advance as they book out quick on Friday and Saturday night

What an amazing place! <br/><br/>My boyfriend and I went to Thailand a few months ago and this place was so authentic and just like being back! <br/><br/>The decor is so great, it really is a beautiful secret Thai garden. it is hidden away in the main centre of otahuhu, such an awesome find. <br/><br/>The food was absolutely delicious, bit on the pricey side, $22 for a main.

Loved it! Take your significant others there! They will love it! We had the 'Set Menu' $35.00 for Entree, Main and Desert! The food is great the staff are polite and the resturant is beautiful!YaMarnis

ORDERED - Set menu $35. Well to start we had the entrĂŠe set plates and soup. This alone has to be the reason to come here. Not too spicy but delicious. The mains were delicious and I had trouble coming close to finishing as I thought about the poor people who can't eat around the world... I TRIED!!! the desert was a little bland but you know what you are getting with a fruit salad. Definitely will come back again. Thanks Secret Thai Team.@Limaono

First time dine in this Thai restaurant with my girlfriend, the place is well decorated, nice environment and it is big area. So we order angel wing for entree, yellow chicken curry, pad thai and sticky rice with ice cream for desert. The food is yummy, the service is a bit tough for the staffs since the place pretty huge, so a bit hard to flag down the staffs. Overall still five star for me.. It is a hidden gem in Otahuhu!!
Wanderlust
I think finding good Thai in Auckland is getting more frequent however great Thai food is something hard to find. Apart from<br/>Thip Thai in Glen Eden I rarely venture out (other suggestions welcome however!). But Secret Thai Garden is up there.<br/><br/>First the location is smack bang in the middle of Otahuhu and has been here for a long long time. Friends I know travel from north and west Auckland to come here. It's a lovely walk through a Thai styled garden up to the entrance, lots of incense and coloured lighting. There are small tables, and then sectioned off areas for large groups. It is all outside under a thick tent like covering and makes a lovely indoor/outdoor feel. <br/> <br/>I often come here with a group of people and they cater and look after groups very well! The menu is large with a great vegetarian section. I got a pad Thai, cashew chicken, green prawn curry and a beef larb. It came out as medium and it actually had a kick to it, so next time I'll try a hot dish! The meals had a range of flavours and every mouthful was like new experience. Delicious food. Service was very kind and made the evening easy.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Auckland. The layout and decor if this place is amazing, so authentic. I always get the set menu $35 which includes a selection of entrees, tom yum soup, 4 mains and a fruit platter. Great value for money and the angel wings are to die for. Unfortunately this time the food was a bit cold when it came out but I can appreciate that it was a Friday night and they were very busy.
Richie Chewy
We had the duck curry which was chewy and not much duck in the curry, also had the basil chicken and the chicken pieces were not succulent but taste ok , the Chang beer and Pinot Gris washed it down nicely tho. The place was busy-ish and had no idea it was at the backyard with plastic wind breakers which was kinda bizarre but ok. Staff was not very friendly either and they need smiles on their faces to make it better. Overall just 3/5 and will not head back in a hurry
Jotori
Hidden away, you wouldn't even notice it was there. Pretty and unique. Food is tasty and stuff are sweet. Normally busy with people. So I definitely say call and book. Don't be off put on the location. Wait till you step inside. !!!
Neel Boppana
Great ambiance! Food was decent, but I felt portion sizes were a bit pretentious to the price. All in all good to have a feel at least once, if you love Thai food!
Tuku
Went here for a friends bday. Wouldn't imagine this restaurant in the middle of otahuhu shopping area. As you enter, long entry to the reception covered with pretty twinkle lights and Thai ornaments. Very impressive. Follow the walkway outside again and seating arrangements is far the coolest. Private covered area. So many twinkle lights which is beautiful. Very friendly staff and thanks bar guy who assisted where our table was. The first to arrive- island time for the others. <br/>Ordered our food. Entree very nice. Our shared menu was nice, wasn't as authentic as I expected it. It didn't reflect the atmosphere of the venue. I have had better menu at other Thai restaurant. It was okay. The venue I must say is very kool.
Ayla Jay
love the setting of the secret thai garden, we have come here for anniversary dinners as it's very romantic, the food is nice, different to other thai restaurants I have been to.
Sophia O-W
I always enjoy my time at this place, it stays exactly the same, being a high quality restaurant with an authentic Thai menu. The ambiance is great, and the waitresses are very friendly. You do need to make a reservation because it can get quite busy. My friend and I came here because she only eats thai or Japanese food when we go out for dinner, so I suggested this place. We ordered before the rush of people came in (around 7pm) but the food usuqlly comes out quite quickly anyway. For entree we had the Tom Pak vegetarian soup, which was tasty but needed a few more ingredients. We had the Chicken satay which was good with the homemade satay sauce, alongside the Curry puffs that were made with enough flavour and didn't really need much more as they came with a satay sauce. They were perfectly crisp with the right amount of puff. The spring rolls were tasty and better with the satay sauce than the sweet chilli.<br/>For mains we ordered a Duck cashew stir fry - which was very tasty and came with lots of duck in it! I ordered the Massuman curry with chicken, which was nutty and had the right amount of heat in it and was delicious. I couldn't finish my food because the portions are a generous size but not too big so that you waste food. Overall the experience is great and the food is good value for money. Definitely recommend thai food fans to try this place out!

Wow, this place definitely took me to Thailand. Love the decor and the lights. Everything was just so pretty and mysterious. <br/><br/>Unfortunately the food just didn't match up to its beautiful setting. Came here for my friends birthday dinner and some of us had unfinished dishes. I ordered the beef Pad Thai and to me it just tasted really sweet and a bit bland. Not much flavour there. Had better. <br/><br/>My partner had the red duck curry and that too didn't have a good balance of flavour. Duck was also overcooked. The only dish that I enjoyed was the Tom yum soup which was punchy and light. <br/><br/>Service was good, though the food did take a while to come. Overall, it's definitely a gorgeous place to go to for the scenery but not so much for the food.
Rochelle O'Connell
Lovely atmosphere and customer service. But entrees are too small for the price n mains are definitely not worth 20+ dollars. I coulda got this cheaper n much more flavoursom at the International food court manukau. Second time here n same reviews sadly. Very average.

Authentic Thai food located in Otahuhu - must come at night as the fairy lights make for a great setting - however in the daylight one might think its a little disarray or tacky. However the food makes up for the unusual decor. I loved my pad thai and pad cee u, oh and satay chicken. Sharing dishes is the best I say. Must try!

We had excellent service with 1 designated waiter at our side. Food was excellent and came out within 30 mins of ordering. Love the atmosphere. Its unique and you wont find something similar in auckland. We have been here twice now. Will go again

I had one of the worst experience as a customer at this restaurant. The service is absolutely terrible and the owner Nobby has disgusting behaviour. He was extremely rude & offensive to the point where my friends and I left without eating.

I have tried Secret Thai Garden a handful of times now, and it really is a little gem tucked away in the streets of Otahuhu. <br/><br/>On this visit I went with two friends who had never been before, and one had never even had Thai food! We started with three starters to share - boxing chicken, angel wings and curry puffs. The boxing chicken was basic but really tasty, the curry puffs were delicious though! The pastry was so soft and buttery, and the filling mildly spiced. The angel wings were also a hit, chicken wings filled with a vermicelli mix served with a tangy and sweet dipping sauce. <br/><br/>For mains I had the sweet and sour pork, I'd never tried the Thai version so I was excited to see the difference. If anything it was a little on the sweet side, but the meat was extremely tender and the dish was filled with an abundance of veges and pineapple. <br/><br/>I love the atmosphere at the Secret Thai Garden, it genuinely feels like you've stepped into Thailand, the place was absolutely heaving with people and we were unable to book until 8.30pm, but the experience was worth the wait.

I'd heard great things and STG is an amazing looking property. It definitely feels like you've been transported over to Thailand. Fantastic &!friendly staff too. Sadly, the food on the Monday night that we dined in wasn't great. Maybe it was because it was a Monday? I had the satay beef and the beef was really tough, didn't finish it and my Pad Thai was bland. Fed the remainder to my mates. So I'm just gonna chalk it up to STG having an off day. We all have them.

The decor was amazing! When you walk in there are palm trees, mini waterfalls and beautiful garden. The restaurant is quite further back which makes is quite mysterious. Ordered larb and pad thai. Pretty standard dishes and they tasted fine. Definitely a cool place to take someone out on a date.
Shazrina
Secret Thai garden definitely has lived up to its name. Didn't expect the restaurants setup to be so amazing. I ordered the chicken cashew nuts with rice which was a bit too sweet for my taste but overall it was nice. The service was good except for the waitresses who had started cleaning the restaurant while we were still eating and kinda made me uncomfortable since we were the last customers and made me feel like we were not wanted there. But overall i had a lovely experience and would definitely go there again just for the amazing setup of the restaurant.

Yummy yummy :-) had the usual Thai laab- was delish!!! And love the setting very under cover and cute, must try if you haven't been here :-)
Monique Ohlson
Great setting for a nice quiet place to eat out. Food comes out in good timing with a massive amount so you won't go home hungry. Full of flavour each time you take a bite and very good price as well
Jasmine Lang
Secret Thai Garden is an accurate description as it is very unnoticeable from the street but has great dĂŠcor and atmosphere once inside. Although the food Is very pricey you get a large portion of whatever you order and it is pretty good food.
Miriam Mikaelson
Love everything about this beautiful place. Delicious curries and a beautiful Thai inspired atmosphere. I will most definitely return with my family.
R
The entry of the restaurant draws you in and you feel excited about being there. <br/><br/>Such a beautiful garden setting with unique ambience. <br/><br/>The food was delicious and reasonable priced.
Phil Innes
Great ambiance and set out. Service average. The food was worst Thai food ever had. If it was Thai food. And I normally have Thai food several times a month. I will never go back or recommend. Curry tasted like greggs powder curry with a bit of coconut milk. No chillis, corriander , lemon grass to be seen, or tasted. Tom yum soup tepid, no spices to talk about. Big let down. My wife who I have never heard rubbish a restaurant was the first to say something.
Louise
When you enter this hidden garden you feel the transformation from (OMG where's the secret garden) and then "WOW what have we stepped into the dĂŠcor was absolutely awesome. The entree's and the mains were delicious although the entrĂŠe portions were quite small for the money paid especially the spring rolls and the chicken nibbles. The service was great, a truly authentic experience and we will be definitely returning.
Miranda Simmons
We went with high expectations based on the other reviews. Entree hot and sour soup...cold, no heat or real flavour. Angel wings, nice but very bland. Seafood garlic and pepper stir fry so bad I couldn't eat it. Extremely bland again, served with cold rice, probably prefrozen surimi, squid and some kind of fish...not the promised scallop by the waiter. It was stodgy, coated in flour and utterly tasteless. So disappointed for an expensive dinner out! Best thing was prompt order taking and lovely entrance.. But won't be back for seconds. :(
Brickhard
The only good thing about this place was the decor. Decor was awesome. Everything else disappointed. The spring rolls were the smallest I've ever had. The so called Thai boxing chicken were the smallest chicken nibbles on a saucer I've ever had. The $20 mains were the size of entrees I've had elsewhere. The service was substandard. We waited over 40 minutes between each course. The worst Thai restaurant ever. Expensive for the small portions and long delays. Don't waste your time and money at this place.
Juno J
When you enter this hidden garden, you really do feel as though you are walking into a tropical Thai forest, with statues and fountains and lovely wooden decor. The entrance could almost pass for a day spa!<br/>However the food is average, without that wonderful Thai taste, and pricey, especially for Otahuhu. I could do the same thing in my kitchen at home.<br/>For a large group, this place would suit well (as long as you didn't have high expectations about the food), but I really think this place needs to lift its game as far as quality and value for money are concerned.<br/>It's a shame, because the venue itself is second to none.
Royenna Tuiloma
Beautiful decor, enjoyed the Thai experience.<br/>Food was good but small portions for our large family. Took a long time between courses.<br/>It was a nice experience that I will only do once as the price was definitely not worth it.

OMG - possibly the best understated thai restaurant in Auckland (South Auckland, to be exact) - and believe you me - I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in Auckland. I never thought I'd discover this gem hidden in a place like Otahuhu. <br/><br/>Lovely outdoor dining experience, authentic looking deco and the food was just absolutely beautiful. We went for the $25 lunch buffet (per person) and was greatly surprised at the (more than enough) quantity and quality of the food presented - thai yellow curry, fried spicy egg noodles, stir-friend ginger beef, lovely appetisers - spring rolls and some kind of friend tofu, bok choy with oyster mushroom sauce. Absolutely lovely - great dining experience. Will definitely return.
Senna
Its amazing to find this little restaurant hidden, as soon as you walk through they definitely have set a beautiful mood , the meals are divine and good size value for money, we were also so lucky to even get a table cause we were just a walk in of 8 plus a child glad they managed to fit us in, our waitress was so polite and helpful and so were all the other workers and the owner nobby , went there last week Friday and going again tonight Wednesday :) (regualar spot? I think so)

Have eaten here several times and it will probably be the last time. Visually the place is great but it ends there.<br/>Food is really not very authentic and portion size especially starters is poor. Mains were very average, the Larb, was meant to be mint &amp; coriander but was overpowered by to much raw purple onion. Massum Curry was ok but lacked any real punchy Thai flavour, sweet sour seafood was a rip off.. 1 mussel, 2 prawns couple of bits of fish and crab stick in a sickly sweet (no sourness) sauce that tasted like watties tomato sauce. Desserts do not bother ice cream sundaes and bananas boring... Staff were pleasant but the grotty sweat shirts need a wash, so does the owner/host, who was unshaven scruffy and obviously had a few lagers. Chastised his staff and generally not pleasant.<br/>This place can no longer trade on its good looks because nothing else about is good any more.. sad but true!!

This restaurant has an amazing surrounding and decor. Unfortunately, it just stopped there. The food is very average and abit too pricey. I ordered stir fry young ginger with mixed seafood, not the best I had and I won't not have again. Pad thai is just bland with heaps of tomato sauce. I don't understand why there are onions in Tom Yum. Sorry, but I don't think so I would come back again for the food.

Surprisingly beautiful for a restaurant located in Otahuhu, South Auckland!! I had heard of this place so many times but couldn't bring myself to going there because it was in Otahuhu but boy...WAS I WRONG!!! Don't judge a book by its cover they say! This place is so amazingly beautiful with fairly lights everywhere as soon as you enter. The service is fantastic, very friendly staff always waiting by your side and the food was delicious and well worth the price!! Only constructive feedback would be they had 'no music' for those quiet moments and i would definitely give them a 5/5 if they had the music to go with the dinner. Highly recommend you try this place!!
Crystal Johnson
I absolutely LOVED it, the scenery is just amazing!!<br/>Went with a group of 8-10 earlier this week and WOW.<br/>Entree's were yummy and out super quick<br/>Mains were brilliant and they came out very quick as well.<br/>The staff remembered who ordered what and there were no mistakes made (I switched mine up a bit and asked for cashew nuts to be added and it was just as I had asked for)<br/>I will DEFINITELY be going back here...

My partner &amp; I had heard so many good reviews, We were looking forward to a romantic dinner. The setting is very romantic however the service and lack of quality of food was such a let down. Service was unfriendly &amp; food portions were small &amp; took a long time between courses and when the food arrived it was luke warm. Very disappointing and overpriced for what you get. We will stick to our normal Thai place.

This place is amazing, I've been here a couple of times both times were work functions. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, apparently the couple who owns it brought all of these decorations over from Thailand themselves. It's like going to another world. We had their set menu both times, and both times they were delicious. I would definitely recommend for people who haven't been before as the ambience is amazing, also great for functions, however the food is on the pricier side so this is more of a special occasions place, not a place I'd go to on a regular basis tho. Very very worth checking out.
Paula
I'm not a fan of Thai food but visited here for a family function. My word it's gorgeous. An exceptional dining experience. Lovely ambience, very relaxing.
Kathleen Randle
If I could rate it higher I would!! We had 27 people booked for dinner to celebrate my daughter's 21st. None of the guests had been before and it was great to see their reactions to the unique surroundings when they arrived. We could not fault the food and the awesome service. For a few this was their first experience of Thai food and Tree (?) who looked after our party for the night was very informative and a great host. Nobby went out of his way to ensure everyone was happy. And value for money...wow! We will definitely be coming back and I'm sure the majority of our guests will also be returning.
Tarina
Wow! What a cool place. It exceeded my expectations. Bit of a mix up with our booking as it wasn't written in the book, but they still seated us. Our waiter was lovely! Food was great and I am craving some more so will be back soon.
Melany
We had never been here before so took a huge gamble holding our daughters 21st function here. SUPERB! A truly magical setting, food surpassed our expectations and the staff are nothing short of spectacular! Will definitely return, highly highly recommend this Otahuhu Gem!
Tony Vercoe
Had dinner here again tonight after a number of previous visits. Always love going here and the looks on our dining guests face when they first walk in is always priceless. Food was great again and we were served very promptly. I'd agree that the appetizers are a tad on the small side. I'd recommend it and will certainly be back!
RoseMT
Secret thai garden certainly is a Secret hidden gem!! Walking by this restaurant you would never now what lay beyond the walls. I always love bringing new people here as there are always smiles all around upon walking into the Garden. The owner Nobby is always very accommodating and the ladies are all very lovely. The ambiance alone makes this a must try but the food is also really good and reasonably priced. I have had a few work parties here and always got very good value. They have the best Coconut prawn appetizers, I always need my own order! The Chicken larb is to die for &amp; the green curry is always a favorite. A great place to go on a first date, you would be sure to impress!

Valentines night...wow, I was truly looking forward to my first visit to this romantic garden restaurant! the setting and decor...well.... it was ok. However when our starters arrived we were shocked to see the small amount of food for a relatively high price compared to other Thai places. Besides it was lacking in authentic Thai taste! The same can be said for the mains...it was the worse Thai food that my hubby and I have ever tasted [believe me we frequent Thai restaurants and we know what authentic Thai food tastes like!] the gravy of my Green curry was exactlly the consistency of my soup starter [thin and runny]! And lacked in flavour! My hubbys cashew chicken was equally poor! We asked for Thai hot in both the dishes but they were dreadfully flat in taste! We had considered dessert before the food arrived but we gave it a miss as we didnt want to take a chance on that! We were still very hungry and hastily made our way to another restaurant! What a waste of money , time and a complete anti climax to our anticipated romantic evening! We will never visit THE SECRET THAI GARDEN ever again!!!!!!!!!!

This has got to be the best Thai food I have ever had, we are never let down by that, I must say, we have dined here at least 6 times and its always good.<br/>It's super hard to get a booking and you need to book well in advanced, especially groups. the atmosphere is really nice, out doors but covered, its so hidden you would never guess just what is behind the wall if your looking from the street, it's that much of a secret. hehehe. service is okay though, I think they just need more staff, as you do tend to wait around a bit when its busy but I guess that's too be expected. The set menu is what we usually go for and has a great variety of authentic Thai dishes, and affordable too $35.per head.
Janine Crompton
I went to this restaurant for this first time this month (Jan 2012) and had a very enjoyable evening. The food was lovely and the service was too. I have read the other reviews and can see what is being said by others is fair.<br/>My only concern is that while being in a very beautiful setting by the time we left it was dark and it was not easy to see the steps on the way out of the restaurant. a guiding hand rail would be of benefit for the customers to avoid any unnecessary falls.
Joseph Coote
I really love this place the decor the food the staff.<br/>Everything is amazing a must do for thai lovers:-)<br/>I heard about this place from a friend and was amazed when we finally made the journey. <br/>It is far away from us but look forward to spending more special occassions here with friends and family in years to come

We had a group dinner of 30 people on Saturday, 5 November at Secret Thai Garden. It was a very special occasion as we were celebrating my mum and dad's 40th wedding anniversary!<br/><br/>Everyone had a wonderful time there! The setting and ambiance was absolutely stunning, and in my opinion, is unmatched anywhere else in Auckland. You have to see it to believe it!<br/><br/>The friendly, attentive and helpful staff ensured that our evening ran smoothly and were always on hand for any queries or assistance. The set menu (buffet dinner) was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations! 30 hungry people had a never-ending supply of scrumptious food, as the dishes were regularly topped up throughout the night. The staff even helped my husband and I to pack up our decorations afterwards. The owner Nobby was very pleasant and helpful, and would go the extra mile to ensure that any requests I had were carried out. <br/><br/>I would have no hesitation in recommending Secret Thai Garden to any future customers! I have had dinner there 5 times now and it is definitely my favourite! A+

We had a gals night out with family from OE and we experienced one of the WORST Customer service in NZ from at this restaurant. Shockingly it was delivered by the Owner Nobby!<br/>The pathway to restaurant is stunning. Beautiful fairy lights, water fountains, buddahs etc, and minature bridge walk-ways. From there on-wards it went downhill!<br/>$9.00 entrees got you 3 mini-size Spring rolls. <br/>Our meals arrived 2hrs late. One of the guest's meal - didnt arrive at all! Gas heater kept blowing out &amp; it was absolutely bloody freezing with rain against the plastic flaps, bringing in more cold air.we huddled in our winter coats, waiting for staff to re-start the heater for the 5th time. <br/>Our host spent most of her evening chasing after staff re. our orders. The punch line was when we were STOPPED from leaving the restaurant as the cashier, said we hadn't paid for a meal.Inv. was checked and re-checked and every meal was accounted for. Yet the owner Nobby continued with his tirade of abuse and eventually one of the guests worked out that since her meal wasn't delivered at all to the table. She didn't eat it, therefore why was she charged for it?!! We were told by the owner: "F*!# off and don't bother coming back. We most certainly wouldn't be returning and nor will we be recommending this place. BUT GARRISONS @ Slyvia Park - got 20/20 for beautiful desserts &amp; brilliant Customer service! so SHAME ON YOU THAI SECRET GARDEN!!!

We are from out of Auckland and were told to try this place. The traditional Thai look is very impressive and they have gone to alot of trouble to make it look authentic. When we were there, it was only open at night for dinners. Its a shame they didn't open for lunches.Maybe its got something to do with the whole look with the lights etc.The food was nice but not quite five stars.I think we were sucked in by the whole environment and surroundings, that it made our food taste better than it really was.Definitely recommended.
Tania Imms
Amazing entrance, fabulous food and atmosphere. Service was wonderful throughout the meal. A disappointing and embarrassing end to the evening when the owner loudly asked our group of 8 to leave as he had another booking.....a quiet word would have done the trick sir - try a kiwi host course!
Janine
I think this is a great place to dine with a romantic partner or even a group of friends! The deco and atmosphere is awesome and we got some cool backgrounds to take photos=)The waiter our table was assigned was fantastic! He was friendly and funny however I can't say the same about the waitresses, most of them were quite unpleasant. The food was delicious and we were stuffed after the main, however the downside was that we had to wait almost an hour to get the food after ordering! Maybe they could have more chefs?Otherwise we all had a good time. I would go there again=)
Lyn Side
OMG what a fantastic place.<br/>Great food. The set menu for 2 or more was ever so filling, real value for money.<br/>Nobby is a very friendly and down to earth sort of guy.<br/>This was our 1st visit and it wont be the last.
Tui
We have been to this delightful place 3 or 4 times now and most recently with our son who is in a wheelchair. The owner has always been very pleasant, telling us about the history of the restaurant and making us very welcome. He directed us to a new area through which we could bring our son up a ramp which had changed from the time before, so perhaps this has been modified...The surroundings are spacious enough that you are unaware of the diners in other parts of the restaurant until you take a stroll. This is indeed a secret place - you would never know it existed from the entrance on the street. The food was great - we've tried the banquet and ordering separately. Both worked well for us. We have only gone in the winter - would love to try in the summer when everything is opened up to the evening sky.
Paul Nash
I went to this place with other 3 friends. The restaurant is decorated in traditional Thai style that can be generally found in Thailand, but not in New Zealand. The garden is beautiful. However, we do not give credit for the food we had. Overall is fine though.
Roni
A jewel in the crown of Auckland hospitality, enchanting and relaxed decor with good service. The food is fantastic and it is always a great place to unwind.
Leeanne
Great place to dine with wonderful atmosphere! Loved it. Have to be one of the best restaurants I have dined in regards to the atmosphere ever. Beautiful garden setting, great service, it was like stepping into another world. Would never have expected this little treasure in the middle of Otahuhu. Will definitely be back and would be perfect for a function like a wedding.
Mary
I have been to the Secret Thai Garden twice and have nothing but good words for this restaurant. Very authentic dining experience love the decor of the restaurant and the set up. Food was absolutely devine (both times) not a fault at all. Waiters very prompt with the food and the owner lovely as well. <br/>For those who read these reviews I would highly recommend trying this restaurant and not pay too much attention to people who have nothing but disparaging comments and nothing better to do then to moan :)
Matt Cooper
What a fantastic place, fantastic service, great food What a little gem in Otahuhu<br/>It was very cold, so bring a jumper! and book as it is very busy
Alex
Never in all my years of attending group dinners had I received such shocking service from a restaurant. What made the treatment even more shocking was the fact that it was the owner who dished it out. It is not unusual for a group of diners to arrive at different times, especially if they were travelling from all over Auckland (West, East, North etc) and were unfamiliar with the area. Yet we were made to feel guilty for not being seated ready and waiting at exactly 7:30pm. Normal practice would assure the guests were happy and treated with respect, of which we received neither from Nobby. He was rude and unreasonable and badly needs a crash course in customer service. Although he was very attentive to other diners that were present, sadly, he not once felt the need to do the same for our group, which consisted of 18 courteous and gracious females plus a couple of well mannered male. <br/>Needless to say I for one and anyone else who is associated with me, would never set foot in this place again no matter how spectacular the environment is.
Sukame
The setting was great and eye catching but from the experience we had there not long ago (last Saturday 28th of march) first impression certainly will last and i will make sure more and more of my family and friends will be notified by the poor service and management our group got from the owner. The Thai waiter was great and helpful. There are no words to describe the rudeness of this owner and would not recommend anyone to dine at this restaurant. He had treated our group like second class citizens which was disgusting. the owner needs to re-think about his manner and tone when approaching people. He reeked like alcohol which was not professional at all! he had refused to serve the half of the group that was already there! his customer service skills were crap and certainly is below zero! he was very pushy and rude. there were no fire exit's clearly labeled anywhere in the restaurant and you had to pay at the bar which was disgusting, drunk people knocking into each other which was inconvenient. I would not recommend this place to my friends and families and would like everyone to know that this place is not worth dinning at! you pay $19 for a main and it wouldn't tickle your stomach at all! certainly not worth the value your paying for!
Saffron
The setting is a jungle styled garden, the food is relatively good. However the customer service we experienced made us feel very second rate and humiliating. We had a guest in a wheel chair with us that could not even fit the wheel chair through the narrow gate, she had to move by crutches through the gate and down a narrow ramp with no hand rail followed by a series of 2x steep steps and 1x raised step (No toilet facilities either). Upon raising the wheel chair issue with the owner he simply shrugged it off did not even bother to help. Although the waiters were pleasant, the evening was ruined by the same over bearing owner who was agitated at the fact that half of the dining party were very late. Upon asking if the present half of the group could order first he declined and scolded the organiser complaining that he had turned down a party of 30 and was doing our party a favor by letting us have the A la Carte menu as opposed to the $35 set menu. <br/>Food and Setting is important but never as important as Customer Service. People will always remember how they were treated. I wouldn't bother booking a dinner there if you have guests in a wheel chair, the distress is certainly not worth the food. The owners certainly could run a great business if they remain owners and not managers as they clearly have no genuine customer service skills. We will not be dining in that restaurant ever again even if they import elephants to roam in their imitation jungle garden 2/5

The entrance to this restaurant is authentic and the atmosphere is wonderful, lighting and deco very cleverly done. the menu has a wide range of typical dishes and the three course set menu is very good value for money. Will definitely return.

Awesome atmosphere. Food was good, lots of flavor and the service was amazing. Highly recommend. I attended with a group so portions were about right. Maybe small for kiwis but it is Thai after all. ;-)

Went here with our big family .. Good was average not the best thai food .. Small portions. I love the setting and decorations though ..

Ambiance is fantastic. It's really a secret place to surprise special person/s. Good food. Accomodating foh. A little expensive but great for casual to formal dining. Plenty of free parking on street. Recommendable.
