What a lovely place. Sat outside in wonderful sheltered area. Dogs allowed, I don't have a dog but think that's great. Simple menu but very tasty. Excellent experience, highly recommend.

Love coming here for lunch! Great food and coffee! The eggs bene with bacon was devine! Beautiful yellow eggs! Really appreciate being able to take my dog too! Gorgeous wee second hand store with limited hours but totally worth a look! Think it's open Friday to Sunday 10am till 2pm. Lovely owner!

Lovely coffee and really good df and gf lemon cake, sausage roll etc. Let down by surly staff yet again. Every time we eat here the counter staff are doing us a big favour - customer service is like it was in the 80's.....such a shame. Love the garden - really great location.

Good food. Cabinet and menu selections. Very good coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating. On site parking or on the street. Facilities clean and tidy. Friendly staff. All over a great experience. Loved the atmosphere.

What a great cafe! Had a coffee spilt at our table, no hesitation to come clean it up and then bought a replacement one free of charge.

Don't be deceived by the frontage, that may need a cleanup, but the insides don't. What a great setting. Yes, you do hear the traffic, but it's not seen, and the yard is clean, spacious and has sheltered dining spaces. Coffee so good, a 2nd was ordered, breakfast/brunch menu has a good selection.. The Eggs Bene spot on, but for me the bun was too much.. Heavy like a burger bun and a smudge of a toast tan. BUT the Spinach&Bacon.. YUM my date loved his Big Breakfast

Nice place to stop and have a break from driving. Parking in behind cafe. Friendly staff. Lovely sunny outdoor area or wood burner stove inside on a cooler day. Little gift shop too!

Review update 2023, Easter Sunday... Sad that the gift shop has gone. Had always been a favourite, with many cool gifts bought. Anyhow, times have changed. This place still has what we remember, great delicious food & atmosphere. Enjoyed the Rēwena French Toast. The Eggs Benedict looked yum (Husband enjoyed that). There was plenty of seating for us to choose, tables in garden in the sun, shade or a private table around in the covered potted garden and wee fernery. Look forward to coming back in the future and after parkrun on Saturday morning in coming months. Nice that it's dog friendly too. Highly recommended!! Review from 4 years ago... A wonderful place to relax, take in the tranquility of the cottage garden & wild bird life. We enjoyed watching young Tui birds feeding in the gardens edge while we sipped our delicious coffee & ate. A small vegan menu offering, but the food is beautifully crafted and presented. The vegan caramel slice was amazing, the best I have ever tasted if I'm honest. The corn fritters were super tasty. A fantastic cafe and gift shop full of unique & quirky present options. Off road parking available too. A wonderful place to help you relax and escape the busy world outside.

Just called in for some brunch. Very nice pawn salad on Tacos. Well done team.

Food was above average but quite surprised at the cost, higher than expected for a simple lunch. With breakfast menu stopped at lunch time, the offerings on what we could eat was reduced due to dietary limitations, but what I had was nice.

A gorgeous breakfast next to a glowing fire, this cafe is delightful. The service is always exceptional and the variation of tasty cabinet treats never disappoints.

Cool little place we were there on a cold winters morning and they had the fire going, the decor is quirky and intimate, the eggs benedict was one of the best I've had, definitely recommend.

Looooove this little cafe! A diamond in the rough! This place is tucked away from the highway, go to fast and you’ll miss it! Such a lovely stop! The scones were out of this world amazing and the rustic feel was so homely and inviting! Definitely stop the car with your kids or partner and relax!

Good points - awesome garden area, quick & polite service, dirty plates collected quickly and coffee was very good. Disappointment over the grilled haloumi salad though. Portion was very small for $17 (compared to similar in Palmerston North), and veges were soaked in way too much oily dressing (I never even tried the additional dressing on the side). Haloumi had bits of black on it as if the pan wasn't cleaned from prior cooking, and toasted bread was burnt at one end.

Beautiful gardens, little gift shop, great coffee, lovely soup and eggs benedict. One of my favourite cafes in Kapiti. Dog and child friendly.
