Review Fishermans Table Restaurant - Paekakariki

Melanie Oliver
Other than celery in most of the salads, the meal was great. We hadn't booked so couldn't have a window seat, but the view from the table was still good.

Great place to go for dinner. It is one of the best spots for sunsets along the Kapiti coast. Great staff. Cold drinks. Surprisingly, the menu was really good. Something for everyone. There is always a parking spot outside. I think, as we did, people just drive past this place and have the wrong impression about it. Highly recommend stopping in and having dinner on sunset.

We Just love as a family to have a meal. and the beach view is just wonderful.

Absolutely enjoyed our meals and left feeling full! We hadn't been here in years and I love how the menu hasn't changed and they still have the all you can eat salad boat! I had the deep fried camembert for entree which was the same as I remembered! The pan fried fish was fresh and the apple crumble delicious. Great sea views and service. It was really busy too which shows families love coming back!

Five stars all around. The restaurant was busy but I called ahead and got a great booth next to the spectacular view of the waves. Customer service was friendly. Prices were really good and the food was delicious. I'll definitely return next time I'm in town.

Nice view! The garlic bread was impressively soft and yum 😍 The gulls wanted a bit too… but sorry! We are not feeding wild birds 😏 Seafood Hot pot fantastic choice 👍🏼

Very good location, with a spectacular view of the ocean. Menu includes both sea food and land food. The service is quick and the food is delicious. Prices are okay, in line with the quality of the place.

Service and food came out quickly even when very busy. I've never had to wait for very long for my food here. All staff are friendly, have never had a bad impression from them. Love the all you can eat salad boat. Its always full, and quickly replenished during busy times. I had the salmon fillet, light meal with croquettes (including the all you can eat salad boat). I always get the salmon and its always done perfectly, its never dry. Really happy with this place, have always had a great experience at Fishermans Table.

Awesome food. Awesome people and very very fast service with their delicious food. And you can dine with ocean by your side encouraging you eat more seafood lol. Don't even get me started on the unlimited salad bar... OMG roast potatoes are the best.😋😋😋🦪🦪

Whenever we are in the are, we stop by here for lunch, early dinner or even just dessert and coffee. The restaurant is quite famous for its seafood selection but also serve steak, chicken and more. The menu starts from 22.90 including the chance to enjoy all-you-can-eat salad bar. We usually order seafood chowder (one of my favorite), steak with mushroom sauce, chicken tenderloin, seafood basket and the garlic bread (I really love this one, crunchy and rich in butter and garlic). I have tasted the fish and chips, fish of the day as well as salmon. You can have them with fries or croquette or hal-half. Love the all. The salad bar has many choices as well, including potato salad, pasta, yellow rice, greek salad, fresh lettuce and warm potato wedges, caulifowers with cream and carrots as well as kerupuk or crackers. Desserts are available for NZD12, with ice cream as my kids' favorite. I usually eat in the back part overlooking the ocean, but we have to be carefull with the greedy seagulls. They can be very noisy so make sure you don't feed them, otherwise they will come and stay in your spot. It has ramp for wheelchairs and wheelchair-friendly entrance as well as table and seat. Happy to be back here again

The rib eye steak I had was tasty and cooked as ordered. Others with me had fresh fish, and they enjoyed, too. The all-you-can-eat salad was great. Despite a very busy Sunday lunch, the service was good. We were well served by the waitress. Great view of the sea and Kapiti Island. Would come again.

An absolute delight, great staff, know their job well, very prompt dinner service, well priced, great atmosphere, awesome Ocean views. Solid menu. Totally worth visiting.

First time here and had a wonderful experience. Weather was fine, bright and sunny so we chose to sit outside, enjoying the sea view and gentle breeze. The place was themed, with fishermen things, feels like going onto a big boat. When we came, we were greeted in the most friendly way. Our server was fast, polite and attentive. We ordered our meals. I went for the pan fried fish of the day (butterfish), with half and half chips and croquette. While waiting for the meals to arrive, we had our go with the salad bar (boat). There were plenty of choices, and seems to be well topped up. All of us enjoyed it. Overall had a good time, brilliant weather, good food and value for money.

This was really bad in every way, everything was tasteless and overcooked. Not even worth 1 star. I'm not a picky eater but couldn't finish food, left hungry, upset, ripped off. Drawn in by big 'all you can eat salad bar' sign along SH1. This is false advertising, as the salad bar was closed. Got a little bowl off salad from kitchen, but second bowl never arrived. Had mixed seafood in tomotoes, boy that was bad, just tomotoes no taste, cheapest frozen fish. My friend got the vegetables, which meant only overcooked cauliflower in a tasteless sauce, her salad bowl never arrived at our table either. Her main was pasta seafood, sounds good, but she didn't like it, too tasteless and over cooked. Management rude. What a rip off, will never go back. Terrible experience. Dont understand all the good reviews other people have written.

A great family restaurant, excellent food great portions, excellent service and a good view. Salad boat is not operating under level 2 restrictions, but, plates of salad are provided on the table (first 2 photos). We had a party of 12 people! <br/><br/>All light meals, Chicken tenders, Fisherman's basket, chicken breast, stuffed mushrooms, scallop mornay, vegetable lasagna, Blueberry cheese cake, Dutch apple crumble. <br/><br/>Always guarantee a good meal.

The location of this place is just wow. Enjoying food and drinks at a beachfront is so cool. I loved this place so much. Haven’t tried much of there food but still would love to go there again whenever i visit NZ. The Drinks are costly but worth the ambience.

Driven past a few times. Decided to give it a try out. Seen some good reviews and some bad.Was pleasantly surprised. Some reviews said the decor was not that good. I found it quite nice and in keeping with  restaurants fish theme. The waitress who served  us was pleasant but appeared a little tired. Maybe because  of how busy the restaurant was. The meals were delivered fairly promptly and mine was excellent. My wife said she had, had better seafood chowder elsewhere. There were some floury lumps in hers. It was OK but she would order the pan fried fish next time. Also found that this restaurant was great value for money.  Overall a pleasant experience. Would have liked to sit outside but the weather was against that. Would we go back. Yes this is on our repeat visit list. A great place to take friends, family and visitors.

Been here multiple times in the past and I loved everything about it but my most recent visit just wasn’t up to par. Although the drinks, salad boat and desserts were amazing I was shocked at the mains that my table and I received. I ordered the fresh fish in Mornay sauce and there was no taste what so ever, the fish and the sauce lacked seasoning along with the mains that the rest of my party ordered. It felt like I was eating fish that was pan fried in nothing but oil and it still had the sea water taste. Gutted to have this experience as this used to be one of my favourite restaurants.

Heard lots about this place so went there on my day off. The staff was not very welcoming and polite. Did not enjoy my meal at all, only the salad was good

🐟Daily Special - Pan-fried fish with the half& half option. The sauce tastes good but the fish is served too late that it is kinda cold. <br/>🐟Tomato Soup - very sweet and sour flavored, which makes the other dishes almost plainly tasted. <br/>🐟Salad Bar - A variety of choices including hot dishes, cold pasta, vegetable salads and sauces/seeds/raisins. Love their roasted potato which we can’t help getting them from the bar. <br/>🐟Service is slow but staff are friendly.

For the price (from $16.95 for a light meal) you getting straightforward no-nonsense food with all you-can-eat from the salad bar. As others have pointed out it is not gourmet dining here. The times I have been the food has been well cooked and service has been prompt. Decor is dated and could well do with a face-lift. Recommended.

This is a really good family restaurant which I would recommend.  I took 2 friends for Sunday lunch as a treat and we were all impressed by the fast  and friendly service, the choice of menu items and the price - under $20 for a 'light' meal which was a good portion size, cooked to order and included your choice from the self-selection hot vegetables or salad bar. A+

We regularly go to fisherman's table for a cheap bite to eat but they really need to make sure the salad bar doesn't have practically raw potatoes and cauliflower on offer.

I have visited  this Fisherman's Table a number of times with family, and have never been disappointed. The service, food, and atmosphere have been excellent and an experience I have been happy to repeat. If anything isn't right? They rectify it immediately and are grateful to know! Most professional and friendly. They deserve a 5 in my book. Best eat-out place I have personally been to. Great for me, as I have a very restricted diet yet am able to find something on the meal and enjoy the experience of eating out (not common for me).

Bloody great mate. Would rate eight outta eight. Food was nicely priced. Dat salad bar, how could you forget. 7 dollar beer Stella artois and corona? Of course mate. Decor bloody beaut. There was a painting and I couldn't tell if it was a haul of fish or a carpet, much intrigue, very mystery. Going back this weekend to find out

Terrible service. Terrible food. Warning do not go there. They only had two bottles of water for the whole place. My steak was given cold, hard and over cooked. Horrible service.

Awesome how there's an all you can eat salad bar. I usually get fish in mornay sauce and it's delicious! Too bad it's so far away, super nice view and sometimes you can feed a chip or two to the seagulls lurking outside.

Buffet style salads..we ordered the steak, fish burger and fish&chips. Food we ordered was amazing, and the scenery with the waves in the distance was 👍. Only downside was every time you refilled on the salad the servers would stare lol awkard!!!

Been going for at least 10 years. Family and friends love the seafood menu and quality desserts. Great birthday and celebration venue. Value for money if you choose right.<br/>

along with my family we have been  eating at this restaurant for 20 years, the food has always been good eating, the staff are always friendly, the view that you get with the meal at sunset is great, the price is fair for the amount my family can eat,I most recommend the T-bone cooked just the way you want,as for those that have given such bad reviews would they be willing to have their own cooking judged?myself i have traveled many place tried many types of food cooked many ways,i also cook many different types food myself,Fisherman table  is a great family restaurant to take your family and friends

Quite surprised by the people who seem to expect this to be a gourmet restaurant, especially as the price of a meal is advertised on a large board at the front as you go in.  The inside of the Fisherman's Table Paekakariki is pleasant, the staff are polite and efficient, and the food is exactly what I would expect, down to earth, honest food.  My husband usually has fish which he really enjoys, and I have the vegetarian lasagne, which I find delicious, there is a nice range of salads in the salad boat, plus hot vegetables and soup.  Considering that patrons can help themselves to as much as they like from the salad boat, I find this restaurant generous, and comfortingly, I know exactly what to expect when eating there.  Thank you for catering to the market that you do, Fisherman's Table.

Drove past this place yesterday as we arrived in Wellington and was really excited to come back for lunch today. Love seafood and the location looked stunning... but that's about where the positives end. Despite being right on the water, the seafood is frozen and probably flown in from China! It was bland, tasteless and left me feeling queasy all afternoon. My son was smart enough to avoid the seafood but didn't fare much better with the cheap steak. The salad bar made Pizza Hut look like a gourmet chain! So much potential wasted. Maybe one day someone will buy out the place and do justice by the location.

I took my wife to Fisherman's Table today for what I was hoping would be a lovely meal. How wrong could I have been, the scallops were tiny and not heated through, my wife's seafood basket was a disgrace. The mussels were like rubber and the fish was nothing shot of disgusting. The best part about of it was getting the hell out of the place. WE WON'T BE BACK.
Debra Newell
Great service, didn't even wait 20 mins for our meal, lovely salads, yummy dessert,  over all will definitely be going back and recommending it to other people. Reasonable prices as well, under $60 for both of us :)

Took my family or Christmas style lunch day before Christmas day.Good job we had booked ahead as the place was full.We were shown to our table which was next to a window looking out to the marvellous coastal view for which this restaurent is famous  and our orders taken promptly. The menu is not haute cuisene but nor are the prices, just family style food served in an attractive way.As it was Christmas week the "specials" board featured roast Turkey and this is what my wife and I chose.Considering how busy it was there our meals came within minutes and accompanied by salads from the salad bar we had a substantial meal.<br/>For desert my wife choose a big hunk of pavlova with whipped cream and icecream whereas I was tempted by christmas pudding with whipped cream and brandy sauce flavoured by REAL brandy. Both of our courses were delicious. The total cost of this for my wife and I came to $63 including drinks, not bad for a christmas meal.<br/>Will I go back? Of course I will! Been calling on this restaurent since my first visit as a two year old in 1942 when it was known as the Centennial Inn!

I struggle with scoring anywhere just a 1.0, but in this case it is my only option...<br/><br/>I have added a photo of how my meal looked when it arrived - even more disappointing (considering this is a seafood place) is that it was extremely overcooked - I would have thought that the chef may have picked up on that by how much it "crumbled" during plating? Though the replacement meal was an improvement, it was just average. <br/><br/>The service was sparse - after a half hour of waiting we called someone over so we could order. And then they didn't get the order right anyway. They never came back to take dessert orders, even though we were there for an hour after finishing or meals - they didn't even clear the table during that time. <br/><br/>I am planning on NEVER going back here again!
Jessica Callistus
I would not come back even if it was paid for. Me and my family came here because we were starving after driving for 8 hours and as we're all seafood lovers we thought this would be a nice place to stop. <br/><br/>The place was in a beautiful area. Right on the edge of the kapiti coast so when you ate you were looking out at the ocean. <br/><br/>If you ordered a light meal or main meal the salad bar was unlimited to you. The salads were nothing special. They weren't bad but not good either. Tasted like the cheap stuff that can be purchased at the supermarket. <br/><br/>The mains were the disappointment. My squid rings were bland and felt like it came fresh out of the freezer, the fish was overcooked and the tomato broth tasted like it came out of the can. <br/><br/>I guess that's what you get for the price. You can't expect much from a $17 meal. Such a shame that the name of the place prides itself on seafood and failed to meet any expectations and that this restaurant is a waste to be located in such a beautiful area.

Fishermans table sea views are lovely.  The food is average.  Prices are good as it offers light or main meals.  The help yourself salad bar I personally quite like, but  Where the salad bar is situated can be quite squashy to walk around.  Overall just okay.
Marg Harris
We have always enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It is a great stop for us from the Manawatu going to or from Wellington for a very reasonably priced meal which takes very little time. We enjoy the view and selection and think it is great value for money. There are not many restaurants now with a salad bar and we appreciate that. There a huge choice of restaurants and it is easy to pay 3 times the cost for a meal that you pay at Fisherman's Table. We consider it good value for the money and very much enjoy the outlook and the staff are lovely and very accommodating. Parking is not a problem either.

I realise a five may be alot.... buttt to me this place is stunning for what it does. The food may be more...not fine dining.. but for what you get...it is amazing..... and the staff...i wish every restaurant taught there staff like that. The staff are polite, very friendly , always repeat the order and always seem like they are happy to be there. 10+ for staff.<br/>The salad boat is always refilled promptly.<br/>The chips to accompany the meals are cooked perfectly.<br/>My companion loves the chicken tenderloins and i cant go past the scallops mornay. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!<br/><br/>My little heaven.

I went to the Fisherman's Table on Oriental Bay quite a lot as a kid and loved it. I've been to the Paekakariki one a couple of times and have always found it decent enough. You pay for what you get here. Yes, the meals are a bit bland but their cheap and cheerful and the setting is great. On my last visit here I ordered the chicken tenderloins which come with a sweet and sour sauce. The meal was fresh and I enjoyed it. The salad boat is good because you can pick and choose what you want but again, the salads are a little bland. The garlic bread used to be amazing here but it didn't impress me at all this time - hardly any garlic. I agree with another reviewer - their soft drink is always flat! This is a family restaurant so don't expect anything more when dinning here. The food isn't bad here, nothing special and a bit bland, but still enjoyable. The staff are friendly and it's a nice enough spot for a quick meal.
Team Thomas
Had to 'dine' here for a family outing, shame. Food was terrible, people jammed in like sardines and whoa, that chowder... really not sure what that was. Salad bar was atrocious, glasses of soft drink were flat... um cant actually think of anything good about this visit or 'restaurant'... certainly wont return.

WOW SO BEAUTIFUL INTEND to go here often !

What a big disappointment after looking forward to going with daughter and grandchildren after a lovely day in Wellington at Annie. Shrimp cocktail was tasteless . I had the salmon for main and it was very overcooked and looked nothing on the plate. Skin was slimy underneath. Daughter had platter with chicken , crumbed mushrooms , prawns etc which she could not eat as she said it was awful, so inlaw had vegetable soup first then seafood basket which was barely ok kids had from the children's menu of which grandaughter had squid rings which she said were awful. Consequently $121 up the spout and we will never return
Ian De Terte
Shown to table promptly. Nice food. Negatives: we were packed in like "sardines." Would we go back: probably. Cost of us $120 for family of 5.

We have been regular customers at the restaurant over the past five years and generally enjoyed the experience each time -- the setting making it a little special. But on this occasion it failed to live up to its boast of a place to eat that gives value for money.<br/>To be fair it was busy when we arrived on the Saturday early evening about 6.30pm and we were prepared to wait the customary 20 minutes for a table. <br/>Seated though at the front outside glowing in the bright early evening sun was one experience that didn't cost a fortune -- just as the advertising boasts. But trying our choice of fare which included Pan Fish of the Day and a Fishermans Basket with croquets and chips, was more an ordeal more suited to munching on gruel at a greasy joe's cafe.<br/>My fish might have been plundered from the deep as our programmed-smile of a waitress informed but both pieces tasted as if they had been slipped from a frozen packet and treated by a magic heat wand ever so briefly. It was tasteless but there's worse. The chips looked like they had been defrosted and manicured before having a lighter briefly waved over them by someone who wasn't looking at what they were doing. They were burnt in the middle would you believe or not even scorched or browned at all. When we showed the maitre d' she agreed pulling a suitable yuk look. Oh, it was so well done unlike the chips.<br/>What's worse, this all came about after getting the waitress to replace mine. My partner declined to return hers for fear of being disappointed again. But her "fish basket" was just that, a basket case -- chewy crab sticks, oyster dis-oyster and dry crumbed fish.<br/>Such a let down -- and that's not counting the salad bar and sauces, which to be quite frank is not worth chewing over suffice to say that the sauces were below par (another customer echoed the same sentiment) with the salads definitely not up to standard.<br/>The whole experience was just not worth it - financially or otherwise. Won't be visiting there again. An empty gurgling stomach ruins the day.
Mike Manning
I live in Melbourne, but normally visit the Wellington area between 3 and 6 times each year for work and/or to visit relations.<br/><br/>I've had the misfortune to go to this restaurant 3 times in the past 12 months, and about 6 times in past 3 years, mainly because my elderly parents-in-law live close by and seem comfortable there. <br/><br/>Each time I live in hope that maybe a new manager has arrived and brought this restaurant up to some sort of acceptable standard. <br/><br/>As has been pointed out by other reviewers, this restaurant has a brilliant location, with superb sea views and a beautiful outdoor seating area above the shoreline. The inside has a great sea front ambiance regardless of the weather, especially if you are seated by the windows.<br/><br/>It is, however, all ** completely and totally ** wasted on this restaurant. <br/><br/>The menu is limited and un-inspiring. If you select fish from the menu then you are really getting the same sort of meal as is available from a local fish and chip takeaway. Other menu items such as the chicken or beef are high on quantity and low on quality, with a good deal more chewing being required than if I made the same sort of meal at home.<br/><br/>The sauces taste like they were brought in to the restaurant pre-packaged. The salad bar (which is "all you can eat") is one of the worst parts of the restaurant. There are tasteless pasta salads, bean salads where I think most of the preparation work involved the use of a can opener, and a selection of over-cooked or insipid vegetables. My advice would be to just avoid the salad bar. <br/><br/>On two occasions in the past three years the staff on our table have been good (maybe trained or worked elsewhere).<br/><br/>On the other occasions I have been to this restaurant, the staff have ranged from mediocre to surly, with no idea how to engage the customer. The use of electronic devices to take orders, which some of them were clearly having problems with, didn't help.<br/><br/>Given this restaurant's location, it could be the one of the Wellington region's top two or three places to eat.<br/><br/>Sadly it's not, and I won't be giving it any more chances by visiting again.
Jessica O'Neill
When I walked through the door I was greeted by the manager and another worker by just a stare! Made it very awkward but we were then seen to a table. We were served by an ok lady when it came to customer service. Coffee was disgusting the latte was spilt when it was put on the table it was flatter than a flat white.. food was great but we were not asked if we were happy with our meal. Went to pay and customer service was crap yet again by the manager. I think this place is great but it's a shame the atmosphere was unhappy. Both my partner and I work in the hospitality industry and customer service is a must! If you are not happy in your job quit it don't serve people with an attitude. Please work on it, because I am sure it will affect not just us as customers.

Went with a party of 10 for my son's birthday, had not been there in years, was looking forward to it. Two in our party ordered the seafood chowder, they were looking forward to it because Fisherman's table used to make the best chowder, big let down :( some of the others meal were a let down as well, the salad bar was very empty when we went up. Service was slow, to be fair they were very busy. Deserts saved the night for all of us! The scallop shell chocolate with ice cream was the bomb, the chocolate cheesecake with marshmallows was awesome as well. The chowder was very sad :( not creamy at all not a lot of seafood in it. The views are outstanding as always. Probably would not go back again. My memories of the place have been tarnished. NO crayfish. The menu is not the same as what is advertised on the website. No set meals, we were not even told what the specials of the day were.

A table of five of us visited today for Mothers Day and we had a lovely evening meal. We have visited this restaurant many times in the past and always enjoy the stunning views and lively atmosphere. Had a good time. :) <br/><br/>The cocktails were impressive - I ordered the fallen angel which was creamy and just perfect! and the chocolate scallop desert was divine.. with a big chocolate scallop mold from the Kapiti chocolate factory - highly recommend!!. I also ordered salmon for my main which was nice and like all the other mains costed $15.95 - including all you can eat from the salad boat. :)<br/><br/>One recommendation I would give is place is that the mains should have a bit of salad on the plate with the main to make it look more fancy and slightly more staff? it was very busy and we had to be a bit assertive to get the waitresse's attention. However the meal included salad from the boat.. and we all took two helpings .. good place to go if your hungry!<br/><br/>Overall I would recommend The Fisherman's Table, its the ideal family restaurant
Kathy Hughes
Four of us dropped in for an evening meal. The chowder was beaut and we all enjoyed our meals and service.<br/>One comment was if there could be a greater variety of fish?<br/><br/>But a great evening all the same.

This restaurant has literally unlimited potential with its incredible sea views and its associated maritime theme featuring ships' wheels, brassware etc. In theory, a landmark restaurant and event destination. The business itself is potentially a great investment - if you have the chance to take it over and run it well.<br/><br/>However, for years now all this has been compromised by substandard food - compared with, for example, the standards consistently maintained at the Oriental Bay FT. Presumably this is a franchise situation where the Paekakariki FT is a bottom feeder.<br/><br/>My family and I never go there nowadays - except I alone still check it out every couple of years or so to see if things have improved. As at the last visit they hadn't. So much potential, but instead an epic fail.<br/><br/>Table service evidently provided by mostly well-intentioned locals and not the main issue - they generally mean well but may not reach the service-related standards clients are entitled to expect.<br/><br/>Primary problem is the food. Drive past this place, without risking your life on State Highway 1 turning into it!. There are obviously management issues at this restaurant and there are far better quality and value-related eating opportunities a bit further south. Try out any fish and chip shop in Porirua!!!

I have been to Fishermans Table twice and each time it has been wonderfully i have never been to a restaurant that cares about there diners as much as this restaurant. Nothing was any trouble the food was hot and delicious and no waiting long for the food the staff here are great really friendly. And i have recommended this restaurant to all my friends and family and will be coming again for my dads birthday.
Fiona Wright
I ate here in a group of 8 for lunch on Sunday 19th September. We got good service and the food was enjoyed by all. Only problem I think we overstayed our welcome and the waiting staff started hovering waiting for us to leave, probably we did linger too long but the 8 of us don't get to see each other often.

Really disgusting. "Food" had obviously been frozen and then thrown on a plate-- Everything at FT is fried in heaps of oil.<br/><br/>Salad bar was just a bunch of bowls with gross mayonnaise-laden mixes and bean salads.<br/><br/>This seems like it does amazing business with the over 70 crowd, which I can only imagine is because<br/>a.) they're on a fixed income and FT is CHEAP.<br/>b.) dentures go well with mushy FT food.<br/>c.) Do tastebuds age and lose the ability to taste flavour? If so, FT wins. Food is flavourless, bland and totally uninspired.<br/><br/><br/>FT, hire a really GOOD chef to come and redo your menu, and your service. You have the best locations in Wellington, fix the food and raise your prices to be moderate range, and watch people pour in and LOVE what they're eating instead of feeling sick when they leave.<br/>The staff will be happier all around when the customers are.
Crystal
I totally have to agree with Matt's comments. We were regular diners but lost interest due to the lack of service from some (not all) wait staff. We find that when we want to order the wait can be very long for staff to even acknowledge you then when they come over its obvious they don't want to be there. No complaints regarding the kitchen staff. Also Ive noticed the usual cheery face on front of house has been replaced by "have you booked", very off putting. Wont be back which is a pity cause this place used to be awesome and a great place for the family to dine out. Many birthdays celebrated there over the years but have definitely found the last 6mths customer service has taken a nose dive. Where have all the cheery/friendly wait staff gone?
Matt
My greater family have been to Fisherman's Table many times, however it seems standards have slipped dreadfully. We noticed it first a couple of months back, then the other day....<br/>Our booking had been made for the wrong day, and they made it seem like it was OUR fault. We had to send two meals back as they were not what was asked for, and we gave up waiting to be asked if we were interested in desert. <br/>All around I mark this as poor and we are not likely to return. <br/>I must say however this is no reflection on the Chef. the food was up to its normal standard, it was the service that let us down, and on this night it was poor from no less than 4 individual staff members.
Les
Average food, waiters have no idea how to smile. Decor very dated (place looks tired - torn seat cushions don't help).<br/>View marvellous but spoilt by very bright fluorescent lights under outdoor canopy.<br/>Fails to take advantage of possibilities of location and (past) reputation. <br/>"Once was good" is the kindest thing one can say.<br/>Avoid if you have any self respect!
Joanne
I just love this low cost family restaurant. you get what you pay for its always a great place to have large gatherings and the staff are excellent and well trained.when I go past the fisherman's table I always think of childhood gatherings, teen gatherings and family coming together for a great evening.
