Giving this place a 100 per cent! 10 stars!!
What a great place to go to on a Sunday afternoon late lunch. I had scallops cooked to perfection. My husband had lamb shank that fell off the bone. Perfect. Live band was so good. I love this place. Felt like I was back in Los Angeles again. Going back next weekend with friends. Our Labrador Mila loved it as well lounging in the sun snaking on tomatos. Highly recommend this place.
First time visit for lunch today, beautiful food and the open fire was a treat to sit next too, would visit again. Love the cafe setting.
Can't beat this place for food that looks and tastes like Grandma's in the kitchen using her 1950s Edmonds Recipe book. Spicy chai lattes are the best i've had anywhere and the ginger crunch or GF brownie are my faves!

Was a great environment with a great atmosphere. They handled our table of 13 without breaking a sweat. Food was delicious and the staff was so friendly.
Husband and I call often for brunch after our bike ride. Food is always fresh, well presented and a decent sized meal. Very accommodating when requesting adjustments to meals. Never had a bad coffee! Lovely atmosphere with very friendly crew!
Hey some pretty tough comments - but we have had a couple of great meals here - there was a little wating time as there was a growd but we chilled - had a few cold drinks enjoyed the atmosphere happy to call in again - i do often drop in great team

I couldn't believe the horrible things some people have said about this amazing cafe!!!! I can only think that they either a: have got the Funky Lizard confused for somewhere else (cafe over the road maybe?) or they b: are very impatient, self centred and narrow minded and have absolutely no idea about the hospitality industry. I work in the hospitality industry and I have done for a number of years, I also frequent the Funky Lizard Cafe on a regular basis. From this I can tell you that I know without a doubt that NONE of the food is packaged - it is all made from scratch, on the premises and is made to order, which is why the food takes a bit longer to come out than it does at McDonalds. ALSO even my 5 year old son is smart enough to realise that when someone is in the middle of doing something they can't just drop everything to go and talk to someone - we expect our children to wait patiently until we finish what we're doing - So what makes it OK for some adults to think they don't need to show the same patience and respect for other people?
Having worked in the Hospitality industry for over 10 years I know that there are customers who just look for things to complain about and absolutely nothing that is said or done can make them happy. Some people are just plain horrible and seem to think the world should bend over backwards for them - despite the fact that there are other customers also being looked after at the same time - nice, patient customers. Ever wonder why you get served last? If you want to receive good service and have people go out of their way to create a good experience for you - try being a good customer first!!!
Have had some fun friday nights at this place, great food, great people and live music too !!!
A great place to enjoy a unhurried meal.Relax and take in the old time ambience this place has too offer.I had the Beauty and the beast and wow what an awesome meal steak perfect beer cold good music,(live on sundays) and as I said a great atmosphere will be back for sure
I recall the lady who wrote the last review about her experience at the Funky Lizard. I was with my fiance enjoying our meal, and everyone seemed pleased with the food, music, and friendly gatherings there. We couldn't believe how aggressive natured she was towards that man she approached. Neither of us heard him respond as she says, but we heard her loud and clear. We thought she must have had a bit too much to drink. It's a great place for one and all!

Today was my third visit at Funky Lizard Cafe. First was with my friend Kate and second visit was Karaoke on Friday. Wow surprisingly on Sunday Live Music!!

Lovely home made food. Quirky cafe that could do with the spare room being accessible, but interesting funky decor. Food is sensational but takes a long time. Well worth the wait though 🙂🙂 love it
I had the steak samwich. The hollandaise was the best I've ever had, served on the side of course. I'm going back for breakfast on new years day!!
Amazing food, awesome customer service, great vibe. Licenced with open mic night on Friday nights and a band on Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended.
Really nice place with unique style. Sometimes with live music. No vegan options but soy latte was good.
