The Refinery - Paeroa - Photo album

Food was delicious- ham n cheese toasted sandwich was bigger than thought and quite filling. Muffin and berry pie delicious and great long black coffees. A fantastic building with history and unique atmosphere. Nice outdoor space as well. Relaxed feel being just off main road. Would definitely recom
Was in town for work and was looking for somewhere for lunch that could cater for me as someone who has Coeliac's Disease. Luckily for me the Refinery had a few gluten free options which was great. Service was quick and friendly and the food was very tasty, as was the coffee. Nice and funky set up a
The Refinery is a cool little place to visit. The food is outstanding. I enjoyed the beans and greens and earlier in the week had mushrooms on toast with a poached egg. Everything is beautifully presented and very tasty. And the plates are heated which I love! The decor is an eclectic mid-century co
The go to cafe for coffee lover! The espresso/ short black that never disappoint you on every visit, well worth the drive from Auckland. The menu food doesn’t look interesting but the cabinet food is always thumbs up. The scone is a must try!
Lovely, sophisticated space that is a must-visit if staying or passing by Paeroa. We had breakfast in the garden and the overall vibe was great with birds, flowers and other guests deeply enjoying the space. Food was great as well (would recommend the veg frittata).
I've only had cakes from here so far. They have been delicious but I can't comment on the cooked food yet. The staff are always friendly and attentive and so patient with my wild children. Coffee is lovely too.
Food was really well presented, generously portioned and tastes fantastic. Staff are very friendly too, and the place has an interesting history. Oh - and dog friendly too!
Great space, and the decor and ambience are superb, especially if you are a fan of the 1970s. The coffee was very good and the cakes were probably very bad for my health but tasted amazing. Nice staff, good menu without too much excitement and the pictures on the walls are enough to keep you busy wh
Found this amazing gem down the back streets while in Paeroa. The 70's decor is amazing. We only stopped for a hot drink and a delicious almond croissant. Good service, friendly staff and great indoor and outdoor area. I highly recommend coming here if your in the area.
Visiting Paeroa with daughter in law and grand-daughters. This place was very busy which is a good sign! Obviously popular. Service excellent. Vietnamese noodle bowl especially good.
Enjoyed a beautiful kahawai kedgeree with cashew curry sauce, devine! Love the ambience here. My Paeroa fav!!
A terrific find in Paeroa. After walking up and down the main strip my husband and I spotted an interesting sign for the Refinery. We followed the trail down to the back road where we discovered a quirky store front housing a small queue. The menu was perfect a mix of old, modern and one that cove
Delicious food. Great range of choice in cabinet (including salads and burgers). Lots of space and big tables (with 6+ seatings). Quiet and relaxed. Comfy seating. Fun and cosy 1960s vibe. Quick service. Wish we had a cafe like this near us - we come here everytime we are in Paeroa.
Quite a surprise, from the outside this building appears derelict but enter through the little door and inside is a cool retro cafe with very nice selection of both sweet and savoury food. Lovely ladies serving, loads of tables to sit at and lots of fun timeless bric-a-brac items and historic photo
A place that never fails to impress and makes stopping on a journey worthwhile. With a laid back and authentic vintage infused with excellent quality vibe. The Refinery has great food with delicious veggie options on the menu . All 👌🏼. A must in Paeroa!
We finally found this gem on our journey. Great coffee and a wide selection of savoury and sweets. Friendly atmosphere and staff.
Great cafe for cyclists with a bike parking rack in the garden and plenty of tables. Good coffee and such a wide assortment of sweet and savoury foods to choose from.
Had the cornbeef sandwich. It was quite nicely flavoured but the bread was overly toasted. My partner got the breakfast curry rice salmon dish and was much better.
Fabulously quirky cafe with the best food and atmosphere in Paeroa! My Turkish breakfast was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting this cafe! Regards to Lulu our new canine friend and cafe guard dog :-)
