Ordered the curry chicken laksa, sweet & sour chicken on rice & hainanese chicken rice all very good only critique would be poached chicken was bit dry, other than that would order from here again. Happy with our dishes and fulfilled 😊 rating *3.5, packed with care

Rang up and ordered takeaway on the way home beforehand for pick up 30 mins later. Food was ready for me when I arrived. Dining in is also an option but the carpark can be busy at dinner time. Food is tasty and good portion size. I did notice that the price on the website for ordering is more expensive, as I paid less when I ordered over the phone

Since our visit visit, we have been back 2 more times. Each time, have ordered Sambal (we think one of the best in Auckland - in pur price range anyway) Nice decor, reasonable service, food value, nice food, clean, parking available - for us, this will be a regular place

Very delicious food and service really nicely. Han nan chicken on rice is the best dish we order really tasty and juicy. We will order whole chicken next time. Curry beef is tasty also. We put Gu Xing Malaysian restaurant in our lunch and dinner list( the pic hannan chicken is half chicken but still enough to 3-4 people)

I've been here a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is pretty tasty and there's a good variety on the menu. The service was super quick, which is always a good thing. Prices aren't too bad and are about the same for similar food locally. Will probably be back at some point.

We had a large party for a birthday meal. Variety of delicious dishes, noodles, fish, vegetables, curry. Well-balanced and tasty flavours. Restaurant was ok for kids. Everybody enjoyed!

The Wat Tan Hor is very nice and tasty. It has the “Wok Hei” (Wok Thermal Radiation). The Hainanese Chicken Rice sauce is nice, it would be nice if can have bigger portions.
Desmond Chan
Recommend marmite pork chop and hainanese chicken.
Michela Kane
It was delicious food, definitely will be back for more. The only issue we had was there weren't really drink options for our toddler
Richard Siregar (Ric De Fame)
First time eating here and tried the pig trotter with a bowl of rice. It's served hot and the fume of the boiled spices draws my appetite a lot. Good to eat in cold Auckland weather.

Nice traditional Malaysia food and value.Always teeming at dinner time.

Authentic Malaysian food that delighted us ! Price more affordable than other Malaysian food chain. Highly recommended !

The best Beef Rendang & Laksa in Auckland! So happy my hosts took me to this gem to experience my love of Malaysian cuisine. A must on a cold & rainy night. 😏👍👌

Not bad for a quick meal, bit pricey.

Great authentic Malaysian food. Restaurant is spacious and airy.

The sambal chicken is the best I have eaten. I have tried many other Malaysian restaurants and have tried their sambal. Nothing beats this one. Love the belachan they put as this is what I look for in sambal. It even beats my last favorite Malaysian restaurant so now this one has replaced them. Price was reasonable at $19.90 with rice dish
Boyke Ferdinandes
Great food. Slightly pricey. Lots of space. Awesome staff

Had the char kway teow and the hainanese chicken rice. The chicken rice was very flavourful, however the chicken was not very meaty and the portion size was small. The char kway teow was nicely cooked and the chilli sauce they have at the restaurant is quite nice as well which goes well with this dish.

Overall it was very tasty, but portion was a bit small.

Taste - 3.5/5
Value - 3/5
Cleanliness - 3/5
Fantastic Curry Laksa, very rich and thick soup base. One of if not the best Curry Laksa in town. The Assam Laksa is my favourite and probably the only place where you will find it. Other noteworthy mentions are the oatmeal or Marmite shrimp and the Lao Mai Gai sticky rice with chicken which sells out fast. Overall very speedy and friendly staff and excellent food.

We had the 魚頭瀨粉 (not often finding this type of noddles in nz), 海南雞飯 and a fried noodle. Good decent prices for malaysian meals. Taste pretty nice. A downside was the 10% surcharge over the christmas and new years holidays (not just the stat days, about 2 weeks). We only noticed the sign on the door as we were leaving.

If your looking for somewhere easy to go this is the place to be. Very affordable prices with decent portion sizes. You definitely won’t be walking out hungry. As well as that, the food was all full of flavour. The lemon chicken tasty and super moist - didn’t shy away from zing which I loved. Spring rolls were like any .. Crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. Always a bonus when food comes out quickly too so great job to the chef and staff.

Great food, friendly service. Family-like experience

Great dining experience. Husband had Randang beef on rice. He loved it. He also ordered a Roti. It was fresh & tasty but a bit too oily to his liking. I ordered the Thai tofu salad. I was a bit let down by the lack of favourite of the fried tofu & Thai salad. The salad dressing tasted like it was straight out from a continental sauce jar. It was a bit too sweet to my liking. On the whole it was a pleasant experience. We will come back to try other dishes.

Pretty good. Tasted quite authentic. They offered varieties of Malaysian food. Char kwey tiao and the seafood laksa were great. Otak otak was disappointing.

A real Gem for Malaysian cuisine...Try the Whole Fish in the Chef's special paste..absolutely yummm....the kampung fried rice was great as well......the dry noodles with BBQ pork and wonton soup were okay and the cendol can be given a miss....
On the whole an absolute must try place filled with malaysians....will surely go back to try more

This place is a hidden gem! Hainan chicken was so succulent & the sauce was so well done, had a perfect balance of soy, sweetness & sesame oil. Sweet and sour fish was great too, very well presented and fish was very fresh. So yum I’ll definitely be back!!
Rashane Tee
Very good food! The otak-otak and cendol brought back memories of my childhood growing up in Malaysia. Very good service and wait time was not long. Hope i can come again soon. My mum said she will give me some money next week so hopefully will be enough for another round of Gu Xiang!

Friendly place with tasty authentic Malaysian food. We got the curry laksa, fried kuey tiao, and mee goreng for take away. In particular we enjoyed the curry laksa and mee goreng which were delightful.

Best restaurant ever. Great prices and reasonable portion sizes. I’ve come here like 5-6 times and leave feeling full and extremely happy. The food tastes so good and authentic. Nothing bad to say at all. Service is good too.
Jo
High recommended restaurant!!! The atmosphere is familiar, just like Hong Kong 茶餐廳. Nice food and friendly service AND clean environment. I’m totally sure that I will come back for laksa and hor fun.

This is a must try. This has quickly become my favourite Malaysian outlet. Great food, great service, good prices and decent servings.
So far the best hannanese chicken iv had. Lil sweet with the sesame oil flavour with the rice. Delicious. Chicken satay, char kway teow, chicken nasi lemak and the roti chinai or all so yum. Delicious sambal as well.

Had the Mee Goreng, flavour was good. One of the better ones I've had in Auckland. Good portion size and definitely worth the price.
Noodle soup was ok. Yum but nothing amazing.
Dip the hainan chicken in its broth before eating otherwise it's a bit bland.
Overall service was pretty quick and the staff were friendly.

Pretty decent malaysian food. Reasonable price (in $13s) and generous portion. One of our favourites. We like their char kway teow, otak otak and salted fish fried rice. Friendly staff and fast cooking.

Absolutly love this place. Interior is very simple and nothing special. I was coning there for weekend lunches for ages. If you like Malaysian cusene you should check out this place. Reasonably priced with dicent portions. I love theirs chicken curry in fact all curries are delish and laksa should not being ignored. The place is always busy for lunches but they always would find a table. Parking outside is easy. Definitely recommend.

BEST place for Hainamese Chicken Rice ! I also love their PETAI fried Rice - it is very RARE to find any foods with petai (stinky beans) so for me finding this place like finding a RARE GEM. Char Kway Tiao is also good on this place. My friends like their Nasi Lemak and Fish Head soup. this place has become out family favourite ever since, especially when we want to have hainamese chicken rice and petai.
Hope 🥰
Absolutely love this place so much! So authentic tasting and decently priced. Always ordering the roti and curry laksa noodles. Definitely try this place out! You won’t be disappointed

Been here few times. Spacious restaurant. Good environment. Food is not bad. I don't really like the rice that served here. I mean the rice itself. Hope they can use better quality rice. Dishes here is not bad. Good service.

Speed: 4/5 Quick
Taste:4/5 Delicious Rice and Noodle dishes
Place:5/5 Nice and modern
Price:3/5 A bit pricey
Staff:4/5 Friendly but has a Chinese accent that may be a bit hard to understand

Fried Kuey Teow is to die for.
Hainan chicken though its quite dry but the soy sauce is super yum.
Ying Yong is decent and their loh mee too is pretty alright but if you missing that authentic Chinese msian you've gotta come here.
If you're here, you've gotta order their secret drink menu. Cham bing: mixed tea and coffee with condensed milk or their kopi bing: super thick coffee with condensed milk. Ain't your ordinary coffee, it is that taste or South east Asia where condensed milk makes everything better.

If you're here on a weekend, don't get frastruated if u have to wait for a table. Trust me it's all worth it.
Hannah Chiam
I had the fish head noodle soup and my friend had the char kuay teow. Both were yummy. The place filled up fast and no wonder. Worth the drive from the North Shore :)

Gu Xiang caught my eye after I had a meal at one of its neighbouring establishments and being a huge fan of Malaysian food, decided it warranted a try.

When assessing any Malaysian restaurant, I always go for the classics as they can be quite simple but there is a lot to them that can be easily messed up. The Chicken Laksa's taste was balanced in that it didn't lean too much towards curry or cream, but the consistency was more on the watery side. The chicken that comes with is not deboned. Overall an okay dish. The Salted Fish Fried Rice was done well as it was very tasty and no single aspect of the dish (namely the actual salted fish) was overpowering. The Hainanese Chicken Rice had tender chicken and very tasty sauce. The actual Chicken Rice wasn't too flavorful on its own but the sauce helps to compensate for this. It was one of the better iterations of this dish I've had in recent memory. The only other order I wish I had made was the Char Kway Tiao.

The restaurant itself is clean enough but not the most tidy. There are pictures of Malaysia posted on the walls, a TV and a fish tank. The service is good as the staff are friendly and deliver orders quickly.

I feel the offerings by Gu Xiang are solid. There isn't anything bad I can really say about the food but there isn't anything remarkable I can say either. I think Gu Xiang is a fine choice if you happen to be around the area or just feel like having Malaysian food. But unfortunately this isn't a restaurant I would keenly recommend or be in a rush to return to.
JaoBanana111
My favorite Malaysian restaurant! Busy place but nice staff! Food is superb! Will recommend Kampung fried rice (a bit spicy) and Marmite Chicken! ❤️
Grace
Gu Xiang is a really good and cheap restaurant. Food is very authentic, ordered the Curry Laksa, Char Quay Teow, Wat Tan Hor and Roti Chanai all of which were really good. Pricing was also really cheap. Will definitely be returning! Thanks, Gu Xiang.

We already have visited this restaurant on several occasion. Excellent customer service and great food. The food arrived in our table fast and the staff was very attentive. We had Otak-otak, Marmite pork chops, Fermented soya paste fried pork on rice and Salted fish & chicken fried rice. They were all tasty and delicious. First time to try the fermented soya paste pork and wasn’t sure of the taste at first but after several bites, I actually liked it. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes.

I don’t like it...
It is so boring and It is not what I expected.
There is no any source ,no any vegetables, can’t have it through,
I don’t think I will go there again,
KL
I went with my friend n tried their wat Tan hor and loved it so decided to go back again and tried other dishes. We ordered a 3 dishes. Deep fried squid, stir-fried string beans and cereal prawns. Squid was over cooked n tough, Prawn was the best out of the 3 dishes but felt a bit pricy with the portion of food they served. I will go back for their combo but wouldn't keen to try dishes.

We’ve been here a few times now. I was quite excited to find another Malaysian restaurant to try after reading a review by Patrick Tong .

There are some mix reviews about this place, and some really unhappy people. But we had good experience each time we went there. I certainly enjoyed the food, and the service were pretty quick.

I found that that make one of the best fish noodles soup in town! Will certainly come back for more

Another restaurant that serves good Malaysian cuisine in Auckland. The place is quite busy during lunch hour but you dont need to wait long to get ur food. Wat tan hor is just okay but if you like some thick curry gravy, you can try their curry noodle.
The CHIKY GUN!!!
Food is reasonably nice and the price is good and the Staff was nice. I recommend you to try it out. It seems to be a family restaurant. 👍👍

As someone who loves Malaysian food, this is an ok restaurant if you know what to order. I personally like their beef rendang nasi lemak, thai style chicken rice (which is very spicy, if you like something with a kick), curry chicken noodles and prawn noodles. I've tried many different dishes (we come here every week cause of the parents) and find the taste either average or below average.

Waiting time can be pretty long when it's full. Do not believe it when they say you don't have to wait very long. We waited for 45 minutes once. For the most part, waiting time and service is decent.

Their iced drinks come in a humongous size which is great because it's usually shared between my bf and I. I like their cham iced which is a mix of coffee with milk and tea with milk.

For the quality of food, I do think prices here are on the higher side. Once we even had to pay for an extra small portion of chilli sauce. However, this place deserves a try if u happen to be in the area.
C Pathmanathan
We really enjoyed the food here. We had the seafood laksa, roti canai with chicken curry and the char kuey teow. Place gets packed so might be good to book. Seems to be a family run restaurant.
Roger DD
Having dinner here on Saturday night, the restaurant had only about 6 tables but owner like to group every one into one area and the tables are so close to each other. First time here and taste wise, food are not too bad but quite tight with their ingredients e.g. one fish ball can slices into 5 pieces. The restaurant are quite clean and nice but its quite untidy as you can see boxes everywhere from the counter to the other side of the wall. Will not rushing back anytime soon.
Ravneil Chandra
Good serving size
Price can vary we ordered 2 noodle meals for approx $28 without drinks. Check out their menu before you go.
Good taste
Place was busy so best to make advance booking.
Katharina Wulandari
Good food and service. Their assam laksa is the best!! Love the strong, tasty flavour of that. Tried the hokkian fried noodle but it was okay. Tried the hainanese chicken rice and it was good.
QTkit Tham
Staff was extremely rude and rough. Aparently my name was " oi here" when we went to sat down at a table. So sure we moved sit with no obvious reason, then come to serving the food they just slam the plate on the corner of the table nearly hitting me dint even say excuse me or put it infron of the person that ordered the food. Horrible wont ever go back! food was not even good.
Joanne Chives
Staffs are friendly and fast service. Food was very disappointing. We ordered fried bean curd, fish ball noodle soup and char kuey teow. I have been to Malaysia so I know this is definitely not what it is suppose to taste like.
Mei
We have been here 3 times for lunch and dinner. The servings are on the big side so
We can share. We love this place and highly recommend the beef rendang.
LilMiss Foodie
I ordered Char Kew Teow in Chicken, and I can't say I was really impressed with it. I could mainly taste soy sauce in the dish but the good thing is - it was not too oily. I was after some carbs and protein, but I could not find any chicken?? I counted and it only had 4 really really small pieces!! Please figure out food costing and be fair to your customers. I paid $12.90 for a whole meal. Did I just pay for plain fried noodles with only beansprouts for decoration? I hope I did not.... =( you could get more from a $5 night market noodle dish with meat. Service is also poor. No smiles, no meal check, nothing.. hope you improve this

I've been to quite a few Malaysian restaurants but I could say this is so far the best one. I've been here twice and so far, my fave dish is their beef curry 😋 As for the price, it's pretty much the same as other Malaysian restaurants. The dining area is wide, plenty of seats and tables but it's still easy to move around. Parking is also very convenient.

Come here every week for lunch, and for good reason. The best noodles of all kinds to be had. Whether it's Mi Goreng, Char Kuey Teow, Dry noodles with curry chicken or Prawn noodle soup, you're gonna be hard pressed to find another place that does them this well at a reasonable price. Also try the glutinous rice, if it hasn't already been sold out. Packed full of chicken, sausage and mushroom, it's a tasty entree that's a must try. Fast service with fairly generous portions, you'll always leave with a full belly and a smile.
Hungusmcfatty
Great for group dining -the generous portions are designed to share. The chicken laksa was our table's favourite. The mee goreng was fantastic, with a nice bite to the noodles and a nice mix of eggs, prawns and tomatoes stirred through.

Decided to have lunch here whilst researching on Zomato.

Very busy restaurant so that's a good sign, we luckily were seated relatively quickly. Food came and there was a definite hit or miss, my hainanese chicken rice was absolutely delicious! Perfectly silky chicken with fragrant chicken rice! Well done! The chicken pepper was really dry and not to our liking. There was wait on our iced coffee, we pretty much finished our meal completely and then received the coffee. . Beverages first? But iced coffee was good, well balanced with coffee and chocolate so not very bitter.

Customer service is a hit or miss, The waitress taking our order was very polite (she was very young, probably under 15) compared to her slightly agro father but that's all good.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the place for their hainanese chicken rice! I will be back for just that and maybe to sample other dishes on the menu ~
Patrick Tong
There were some mixed reviews about this restaurant. When we were there tonight, they were quite busy, and there were quite a few Asian faces too. So, my first impression of this restaurant wasn't too bad as if it's really bad, there shouldn't be hardly anyone going.

The services was excellent. Food delivered quite fast. The food was tasty, and they were not expensive. However, the location was not very convenient. The hygiene was fine.
Benedict Uy
Come here quite often if I'm craving Malaysian food. Most of their noodle and rice dishes are quite nice. I normally come for those during lunch. Occasionally come by for dinner and have dishes instead although they are available anytime.

Most of the dishes are nice but I quite like the Prawn E-fu Noodles, crispy noodles topped with gravy and prawns. I also like their Hianese chicken, amongst the other delicious dishes.

Really nice place to go for a quick and tasty meal. The service is usually quick and efficient.
Susan C.
Have been go Gu xiang multiple times, is our local go to Malayan restaurant. I love their hainanese chicken and chicken curry. The staff there are very attentive and friendly. It's also child friendly. It's a good take away or Friday night dine in place. Love the big fish in the fish tank too!
Alana
Not impressed with the quality of food here, perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes. We had roti canai with chicken curry and sambal prawn with rice.

The curry chicken has got good flavour but its on the oily side. The canai wasn't particularly great. We've had better ones at Tan's Kitchen for example. The sambal prawn is such a major let down. It looks like something a uni student makes (no offence to the students) and the sauce is so dilute and doesn't have much sambal flavour. The prawns are tiny and really, the whole dish just lacks everything.

I gave it a 2.5/5 because I assume we ordered the wrong dishes. Wouldn't discourage others from going although I will probably not return.

A friend had recommended this place to us. We went there for lunch on Saturday, 17th September 2016. We ordered Chicken Laksa which was very nice and the quantity was very good too. Service isn't much to talk about but that could be due to language/communication issues. However if they tried just a smile with service, it will definitely take them a long way!
David Martin Clancy
I stood waiting? Then had to explain I wanted to eat in. Ordered a Laksa it arrived fast. Fast cause this one tasted like it was straight out of the can. Not a laksa. Bkand near tasteless fish balls cut into tissue slivers. Rice noodle used with thin egg noodle. Over all poor form.
Kershia
Visited yesterday & the food was so good. My friend had the seafood laksa and it smelled and tasted delicious. I ordered the sambal chicken with rice which was really nice as well, although not as spicy as anticipated. Next time I am definitely going to try the chicken laksa because that looks to be a stand out dish. The place is definitely nice and clean and Malaysian themed. Service was ok but nothing outstanding. Will pop by for sure to have some of that laksa! Good food for sure.

Reasonably priced decent flavor dishes.
There is a fish tank right in the back corner by the bathroom door.
If you get attracted by the beautiful fishes, watch them from a distance or you will be watched closely/warned by the boss.

Gu Xiang has serious potential! We had dinner here last night and it was fab. We basically shared the shredded chicken laksa, the roti canai chicken curry and the fried chicken fried rice.

The laksa was beautiful. Creamy and flavourful and noodles were soft and plentiful. Both of us loved it! Also appreciated having the option between the chunks of chicken vs shredded chicken breasts because let's be honest, sometimes we just can't be bothered dealing with bones!

The roti canai w curry, was meant to be an appetizer yet came at once w our mains, was delicious but oily. Roti was yum! Loved the charred flavour.

Fried chicken Fried rice - rice was yum but very boring. Chicken was dry and unpalatable. Wouldn't order this again.

Ceilings are covered in fans - keeps you comfortable in this heat but also cools the food down too quickly :-( Service was good - lady who served us had a good command of english and was pretty attentive during our meal.
Bon
Friendly staff, food was high average but a bit pricey. We ordered all the main dishes which was mostly $20+ Not really a must try but if you're in the area you can give it a go if you're OK with the pricing.
Farn Thoong
This place is very roomy and gives a good feeling. The prices are a bit steep and the food is reasonable. We ordered a Malaysian favourite otak-otak. It was a huge letdown and does not even taste like it. For $10, it was beyond a disaster. The Hainanese chicken was very ordinary, the fish head noodle came with 4 small pieces of fish, and at $15 it was un-recommendable. I may go back again to give it a second chance. Perhaps the cook had a off day. :-(

Became a regular customer since they were opened. I believe this is the best malaysian restaurant in south/east auckland! Strongly recommend their Cham (half coffee, half tea) and white coffee. They are the best! 😋 However, i wouldn't recommend having them during dinner as they are quite strong.
Joanne Chiang
This is the second time back to this little small malaysian cafe. Today i ordered the fish head soup as i wanted to give it a go, boyfriend got the curry pork rice and we both got the fried wonton to start. Food came quickly after we ordered, maybe is because only people like us have lunch at 3pm. The pork curry was delicious! I stole a bite off him and it was flavourful and delicious, the fried wonton was very crispy and flavorful, maybe if they put more meat in it, it will be even better. The fish head soup was good, one of the best ive tried in auckland, but still cant beat fish head soup back in malaysia. Overall i love this place! Definitely come back

I enjoy writing about nice surprises and wow dishes at new cafe and bistro styled places I try to get to. Im a littke sick of the high end fine dining scene mainly as the service standard and not consistent but food is almost always below international fine dining standards. GXM is in the set of shops with Nosh across the highway from pakuranga plaza. Decor is simple cafe or noodle house level. Malaysian is definitely a chinese bent. With mandarin and cantonese speaking frequently heard. Service was good. Dropped a spoon asked if another was required within 30 secs.

Spring rolls freshly deep fried and good sized light coloured and light oil hard to find better 5/5
Fish and noodle soup was flavoursome. Authentic fish base and richness. Fish pieces will appeal to those who like to fight with their cat for fish bone scraps! :) seriously its an acquired taste but their serving was top marks just short of a wow factor. 4.5/5
Hainanese chicken rice. Despite that I resent that this is is regarded as a malaysian dish due to the country's promotional efforts I do love HCR and theirs was again a great serving. Only because I love the flavour of slightly salty slightly herbal scented boiled brothy taste I was after more so I regraded the serving as coild have been bigger butit was adequate givenbthe modest price.4.5/5
Thai spicy chicken was not my order a colourful and on tasting definately a medium pkus level of spice. Pan fried chicken with skin on. 4/5 for spiciness.
Free tea but this was luke warm took the shine off service. Waitress forgot the requested glass of warmed water. Good parking outside offthe busy road and plenty of baby seats so baby friendly.
A few weeks ago, I had a lunch at Sri Mahkota. Today I am comparing its food with Gu Xiang at Pakuranga. We had deep-fried crispy wontons with sweet & sour sauce; char kway-teow (stir-fried noodles) & nasi lemak (coconut rice with beef, half boiled egg, peanuts & anchovies). Wontons were not hot & not appealing; noodles - average; nasi lemak - authentic & good, apart from the coconut rice. (Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 1.5/5)
N.B. Payment by cash or eftpos only.
Solarflare
Really good char kway teoh, but the chicken rice lacked a little flavour. Don't expect anything in the way of atmosphere as the blaring TV dominates the restaurant. I will definitely return to try more of their menu.
RM
Genuine Malaysian folk running it. ordered entree but it arrived after the main! We had spicy noddles and a pork onion dish. Both were just the right spiciness for our palates. No alcohol license a disadvantage we felt and not the sort of place you would take your friends fr a Saturday night dinner, but ok for a quick meal at a reasonable price with good service and tasty food.
Josh Law
Not a bad Malaysian place. Probably the best one in the Howick region. We had Laksa and a spicy chicken dish. The serving sizes weren't too bad and the prices were pretty good. Overall a good place to eat. We would definitely go back to try something new. Would be super keen to try any lunch specials if they have them.
Candii Cao
The restaurant was very busy during weekend lunch hour. We ordered hainanese chicken rice and tom yum soup noodle. The hainanese chicken rice tasted very authentic while the tom yum soup noodle was quite average. They have interesting afternoon tea set that Im keen to go back to try.
Mat
This restaurant is fairly new and is situated closely to where I reside which makes it convenient when I am in the mood for some Malaysian food :)
I would recommend the gong bao chicken. I haven't tried much on the menu but I am keen to explore in the near future! The customer service needs to become slightly more attentive I think... Keeping in mind, this is nothing compared to a lot of bad service Asian restaurants.
Cindy Ong
The owners are from Malaysia. You can have options of ordering dishes and eat with white rice or order hawker food like curry noodle (curry laksa), fried noodle & etc.
We had tried their marmite chicken and pork (but chicken was better) and fermented bean curd fried "yau mak" veggie were very good. Their curry noodle seafood was wonderful. A must try Malaysian restaurant in Pakuranga.

Love, love, LOVE! Had only just discovered this little gem about a month ago, it has fast becomed our favourite place to eat on a weekly basis.

Full of flavours, reasonable prices, good portions, fast service. This is the place to go if you want scrumptious Malaysian food without being over charged.

Jeyna
Our favourite place. Must try, must go place. Authentic asian taste. Friendly and attentive team. Super good (best!) milo. White coffee is the next best thing. Love that they have green chillis and sambal to go with dishes.
Claire Deuchar
Fantastic meal here. Food portions are huge and it's cheap! The chicken curry and the laksa were amazing. We also had the chicken satay as a starter which had a really tasty sauce. Food came out quick and Staff were
friendly and helpful.
Halfpie Job
We call this place "Kumpung" and are regulars! The owner all 4ft nothing is a real firecracker and the entertainment value she brings is worth the trip.
Usually order the standard Char Kuo Tuah half/half, Nasi Lemak, Hokkien noodles and this always hold us for the night. The steamed fish we've had on occassion is all good and they are slowly hitting full stride which saddens me as it will make it harder for me to waltz in and score a table.
One problem I have with Malaysian restaurants is they wont invest in proper wine classes. An expensive bottle of wine and you have to serve it in glass tumblers.
Jemimah
Visited here for lunch few months back with family. We tried the Hokkien noodles, fish head soup and Hainanese chicken, as well as some delicious teh ais.

Staff were very friendly, however the food did not agree. In both the Hokkien noodles and fish head soup were pieces of fried pork fat which didn't seem fresh. Also, both dishes came out only a few minutes after ordering leading us to believe a lot of it had been premade.

After our meal here, our stomachs did not quite agree with the meal. Sadly we won't be returning.

Got takeaway seafood laksa for lunch and was delighted with the meal

Had dinner here once too and we had fried rice noodles and roti canai with curry. The roti was amazing fresh and fluffy will definitely order that again

Service was quick too

Went for a family dinner tonight and we got a variety of dishes
Favorite was the morning glory vegetable dish with sambal sauce a bit spicy but enough I can enjoy the flavours

My nephews enjoyed the marmite pork chops

Great food and reasonably priced. Tried the hokkien Mee, marmite chicken and tofu dishes and loved them all. Easy and ample parking and the place is nice and clean. Will definitely come back here again.

Delicious food, massive portions and cheap! I ate a bunch of appetisers such as spring rolls, fried dumplings and fried chicken which were super crispy. I'd recommend the chicken satay which had a really tasty smokey flavour and it came with spicy peanut sauce. They do iced milo too! Really good service too. Great place for a cheap, casual meal
