Not enough stars to rate this Cafe’ to be honest, off the charts nice 🔥🔥 food was to die for, hence my empty plate 🤣😂 the best Steak sandwich I’ve ever consumed 🤤🥰 most definitely will be back and totally recommend 💯

Always a pleasure to have brunch at Moxies. Salmon Eggs bene are awesome. Just the right amount to feel content. Not too full and not still hungry. Especially with a large cappuccino. Though my husband couldn't finish his big breakie.

Had a lovely Sunday breakfast yesterday. Eggs Benedict was delicious and speedy service. Hot chocolate was nice and hot too. Well done to all the staff

Down a One way street where parking could be a challenge. But once inside very pleasant. Busy a lot sending out signal of good things to come and you will not be disappointed especially with their burgers. Soup's great as well!

The best eggs benedict in Palmy I reckon. The potato rosti has a lovely flavour and texture, staff told me it's made on site. I suspect the sauce, and many other goodies, are made on site too. I think they've got a really good cook or two in that kitchen!

Awesome friendly service and delicious kai and best mochas in the country. We were in Palmy on holiday and had to stop back into Moxie's on our way out to stock up their yummy mochas. Already telling everyone back home they have to try Moxie's if they're ever in Palmy.

Always visit Moxies when in Palmy. Big MF breakfast is my children's go to and I always get the eggs bene. Ice coffees served with ice cream and topped with fresh cream. Smoothies are delicious. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Always served with a smile. Very busy little Cafe but worth every cent.

Amazing beef burger. So big and really tasty.

Nice staff, reasonably fast service, great food. The Elvis Open Sandwich was tasty

Glad to see how busy you were on a Wednesday at 7.30! I took half a dozen customers for breakfast and everyone was happy with the bennies and great coffee, we were surprised at the speed of service considering how packed you were, I think it was under ten minutes for six meals! Well done bobby and team. Sorry no pics but meals were great, eggs nice and runny bacon was crispy and hollandaise was rich.

There is not one meal I have ever had from Moxies that hasn’t been amazing! My favs are the lamb salad and pork belly eggs beni! The service is amazing and friendly and the atmosphere is so relaxed.

French toast with waffle is yummy~~Will definitely come again for their French toast! Always get a clean table with nice coffee and yummy food. Great service as well!

Absolutely Loved the food, service was amazing and the atmosphere was friendly and easy going. Best breakfast I've ever had.

In Palmy for a week and went looking for a place for breakfast, was heading to a particular place but they had just opened their door and this place was already buzzing so we can here.
Not disappointed at all, generous portions beautiful breakfast we’ll be back tomorrow to try the pork belly burger I think
Ambience welcoming nice and tidy establishment.

Staff are not friendly?!?!
Faith Olivia
Really nice environment, the staff could be a little friendlier. Ordered an almond milk ice chocolate which had far too much ice but the frenchtoast, banana and bacon was nice... a little pricey

Cool place and service was great, seemed like a popular local coffee shop.
I ordered the harsh eggs Benedict, the hash was thick and chunky. Also a big piece of bread was served with it, I didn’t try this.

Nice place, with a warm feel and comfy furniture. Lots of good looking cabinet food on offer, plus a menu of breakfast and lunch type meals. Looks like they do some nice choices for dinner also. Our coffees and teas were spot on, and I do like the grated chocolate topping on my cappo! Cinnamon scroll was ok, but nothing fancy and the cheese scone went down well with the others. Lots of seating indoors and some outside too.

Moxies is consistently great.
The food is imaginative, well priced and caters well for special diets. The coffee is always spot on too, and the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
Awesome cafe 😊
Had dinner with a friend. Not a bad experience. I enjoyed my meal and thought it was reasonably priced. Friendly and comfortable staff. Long wait time considering there was hardly anybody else there. More likely to come back for chips and a drink next time, but would return. ☺

Great Gluten & Dairy Free options -- food is yummy!
Only negative is wait time at peak times but that's a tribute to the good service & food Moxie's have on offer.

Very disappointing cafe. I ordered hotcakes with bacon an banana $16.80. Hotcakes were out of a packet an just headed. Not what I would expect at a cafe like this an is not reflected in the price. Should be freshly made for this price. Coffee was dissapointing to as luke warm. Cabinet food is looking more like what you get at your local bakery. Not the experience I was looking for. Make your hotcakes fresh or take them off your menu. I feel ripped off an won't be back unless your food an coffee improves

For drink I ordered a soy latte and It wasn't pretty at all and it was very foamy and burnt. Ordered the smashed avocado and salmon on toasted bread for my meal which was nice but very very tiny for what you pay for.

Every time I'm been here the food has been great but the coffee has been very average. Customer service friendly and efficient. Would recommend for everyone to go for the food!
Jimon007
Nice place and coffee too. We tried pan cake - not bad. It offers a free wifi too. It is late Sunday and not many people. If you want to hang out for coffee and snack with wifi connection this is the place to come.
Kiwiana
Service is quite good, wait time is a bit longer than normal. The coffee is quite good but would not recommend a meal, presentation is appealing but ate is below average.

Busy little cafe in palmerston north, we loved it. I had an amazing hot chocolate, and pancakes with bacon, banana and maple syrup, i think they were store bought hotcakes heated up but it was still nice ! My partner had eggs on toast with hash browns. Tomato sauce came in silly little sachets but all in all it was great. Would definitely return. Sarah Ann

I chose the hash stack and a very much recommend it. Only gripe is cold drinks are abit expensive and seating needs to be arranged abit better. We had to sit in the only seat left in the place and been such a tall cafe it made us feel very open and vulnerable to the surroundings. Staff were very lovely though.

I came here for breakfast recently as thought I'd try somewhere new and they had a good rating.
After ordering the waiting time wasn't too long, maybe about 10 mins. Service was average.
When I tasted the food though I was a little disappointed. It looked amazing but the taste wasn't quite right. The whole dish was far too tart, from the balsamic vinegar syrup on the plate and the hollandaise sauce. Eggs were cooked a little too long as well. Barely managed to finish it. Won't bother coming back.

Great selection for breakfast. I chose the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon for breakfast. Service is reasonably fast. Great plate presentation. Good size portions. Took a client there for serious eats on reputation. $54 for two, with two Coffees and Juice. We both left feeling contented. Robust busy atmosphere, popular spot with the locals.

Tucked away on George street, this place was wonderfully vibrant and busy.

Everything in the cabinet and on the menu looked good, however there were only two vegetarian options, and none of those were vegan. Service was a bit slow, even when husband just ordered panini from the cabinet. However, other than that, food was delicious. The panini with chicken, apricot, and camembert was perfectly cheesy. My vegetable stack was huge and amazing, the eggs were perfectly poached, and hollandaise sauce was possibly homemade and very tasty. Sister-in-law enjoyed the French toasts with banana, bacon, and maple syrup. She also commented that the spicy chai latte was not sickly sweet like other places. Husband's iced coffee was strong and creamy. My coffee was also really decent.

This place also does ribs for dinner too, definitely one of those places that we would be keen to return again.

Went on a busy Sunday. Coffee was average, not the best flat white I've had but was probably due to its busyness... Ordered the norm, eggs benedict bacon. One egg was runny (perfect) while the other wasn't so perfect. Overall, ok. I may come by on a weekday when its not busy... but unlikely as I'd want to try other nearby cafes too.

We had a family breakfast here and pleased we chose this place!

The service was really good and easy to accommodate our 1.5 year-old. The breakfast selection was quite extensive and several of us had the eggs benedict which was unanimously yummy!

There's a kids corner, which although small, is enough to keep them occupied!
Kevin
Had lunch on Sunday at this place. It was busy food came quick, service was ok. Ordered saute potato chorizo and bacon, it was disappointing. Bacon tasted like ham, salty and chorizo wasn't spicy -tasted like a normal sausage. The poached egg was good.
Bit pricey though.

Came here for lunch on Sunday with a bunch of friends. Service wasn't bad. No one came to take our order until we went up to the counter and then they told us they'll come over to take our orders 😑 but they were quite busy so I'll give them that.

Food wasn't bad, arrived quite quickly. The sauté potato, chorizo and bacon hash was nice but got quite salty as you kept going. Eggs Benedict with salmon was nice. The bread provided along with the big breakfast was real hard and too crunchy. Chai latte wasn't too bad either.

I like to come here once a month to treat myself. Always get treated amazingly by the staff. Love how the owners have big smiles on their faces when they see you. Lamb feta beetroot salad two thumbs up.
Christine
Coffee is really good, but we were not impressed with the food. Large portions but pancakes were rubbery and not nice to eat. Seems busy play so maybe it was just an off day??

I live in Palmerston North but for some reason, I never went to Moxies until one until one week ago when I went for the first time and then returned 3 times in the same week.

The coffee is great if you love long blacks. I can't speak for their milky counterparts but the long blacks are delicious. if you're a fan, you'll want more than one.

It's a great cafe for people wanting coffee but the cafe itself is a nice place to sit and have a meal too. The massive windows on two sides of the cafe lightly illuminate the interior and make it feel open and spacious.

Being on a tight timeframe, I didn't try the food on the menu. I think they cater more for those people having a meal from the menu. Although in saying that the homemade pie I had from the cabinet was delicious.

it seems like a working professionals cafe but they may have different crowd later in the day or on the weekend.

$4.50 for an average take away coffee

We were HUGELY disappointed with the service and meals at Moxies.
I ordered a BLAT, and after waiting 30min was told there was no avocado and the meal still cost the same. The meal tasted bland and was mostly inedible. My partner ordered a venison burger and berry smoothie - they may as well have poured a pottle of berry yoghurt into a glass or maybe they did? It wasn't fresh, and wasn't drinkable. The venison patty was tiny, tomatoes were old and chips undercooked. The meals were very expensive for what they were and we walked away feeling sick and ripped off. Won't be dining at Moxies again.

Having spent part of the morning at the Rugby Museum, we decided to get some lunch close by. We headed to George Street where I knew there is a number of cafes dotted along this street. Having just been to Cuba Cafe which is at the other end of George Street yesterday, I wanted to go somewhere different, so we decided to go Moxies, which seems to be quite a popular light and airy cafe.

Food service is not the fastest. I was about to ask where our food was, then I saw it coming out. The only let down to our meal was the over cooked rib eye steak. Moxies is one of a handful of popular cafes on George Street.

Please check out my website for an indepth review.

Just awful. Bad, slow coffee and the worst customer service - especially from the "owner" as she puts it - I've encountered worldwide. There are some great cafes in Palmerston North and some of the best coffee I've tasted but that certainly isn't here. Go across the road to Tomato, they are far better and look after you with a smile not a snarl.

This is our favourite place to go for brunch. Have tried many different dishes now and all have been divine. They are able to cater for all types of dietary needs and nothing is a problem. The staff are friendly and efficient. Would be a bad day at Moxies if you were dissatisfied. First place I would recommend for brekkie/brunch. Well done guys, keep up the great work!

Breakfast at Moxies was a delight on Saturday. I'm not one for commenting but this place deserves a mention. The service was exceptional. Food was well above average, especially the mushrooms/bacon/scrambled eggs and I will be going back to this establishment! Only downside was the teapot.. they all seem to leak in restaurants/cafes these days.
Susan Swan
We have found the last couple of times the wedges with bacon and cheese have not been up to Moxies normal standard. The wedges are over cooked, some are burnt. Staff are friendly.

Went back again today (14.03.14) - the wedges were burnt, I won't be back to try again for improved wedges, now looking for a new place to eat.
Rosemary Hancock
We have never had a bad experience at Moxies. This is a favourite place for breakfast before work. Good selection of food from cabinet and off the board menu; always well presented and tasty. Staff greet everyone like friends and usually say "good bye" too as they see you heading out the door.
Keith Sanson
Try the Cappuccino here! They use real chocolate instead of chocolate powder. Nice atmosphere too.
Teresa Flavell
Love the atmosphere at Moxie's. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Love the Cajun Chicken and Mango Salad. My fave :) Awesome Moxies staff.

On way to library to study thought i'd check out Moxies to see what the hype is all about, pretty busy place, was buzzing when i arrived, ordered coffee and French toast for brunch, nice quick friendly service. Both orders came very quickly, really enjoyed the meal, only let down was that on both big pieces of bread the bacon was only half the size on each one, and wouldve liked to have the bcon fill the pieces for the price that is paid for it, otherwise wouldve given 5 stars.
Michelle
One of a number of places to eat in George Street, Moxies is okay, and sometimes even good. Certainly it is popular at meal times. Lots of items on the menu and in the cabinets, and the quality is okay but nothing to rave about and service can be slow at busy times. Maybe a few less items done better would be a good idea. It can also take a while to clear and wipe down tables, so the overall ambience is not always great. But there is a selection of reading material, clean toilets, and pleasant staff, which makes a difference.

I have been to Moxies Cafe 4 times now and I am yet to be disappointed...the food is amazing I ordered the salmon dish which was lovely although I like my salmon cooked a little less and my partner loved the French toast huge thick slices of bread used just perfect. The drinks are ready within minutes of the order being made and meals follows soon after. Did I mention value for money with reasonable food portions. The staff are very friendly and attentive unlike a few places around. How their competition right opposite gets cafe of the year is beyond me ;)

Brunch here today, was absolutely fantastic. I am amazed at how good the service is. The girls at the counter are smiley, helpful and efficient, and the guy walking around (owner?) was a true example of a great host. You can tell the staff are happy and genuinely passionate about the place and that makes a HUGE impression on customers. Drinks orders were received within minutes - really good and the food tasted so, so nice. Potato chorizo hash an absolute winner - yummy!!! Really loved my visit and will be back for sure.

Had lunch with my partner yesterday, I had the elvis with poached eggs, My partner had the french toast, to which she loved. The Elvis on the other hand well, Burnt toast and the eggs were very over cooked, leaving me with two hash browns and 2 tiny bits of bacon, as a chef myself i found this to not be good enough. I was not once meal checked and did not have the chance to say anything to the staff as they got very busy. But all is not lost I will be back to give it another go!!

Have been here twice for breakfast and both the meals and service were wonderful! The waiters and waitresses are efficient and friendly. The place has a good vibe, even early in the morning! Moxies seems to be quite popular-and with good reason.
Sarah
I love this place! Best smoothies in town, and always consistently fast and friendly service.
A great range of menu items and cabinet food at reasonable prices.
It's normally busy, although I don't think I've ever had to wait for a table.
My go-to brunch spot.
Kate
Good coffee, delicious pancakes and yummy big breakfasts. The staff are always friendly and moxies has a good range of gluten free food aswell. The cafe does get very packed and can be a quite noisey
Carla
enjoyable environment apart from it seems to get too hot and stuffy. Staff are usually very efficient. would recommend.
Siobhan
Came here with a large group for a work function. Thanks to them taking our orders the previous day, we arrived and had our breakfast within a very short time. Friendly service and the pancakes were delicious! will be back
Vicky
I've been to Moxies 4 times now, and each time is better than the last.

Truly amazing food, great coffee, friendly staff, and lots of parking around the area makes this a great choice.

We've been there on super busy mornings where the line went out the door and around the corner yet the staff were still cool and fast.
Marika Hoppe
Really friendly staff! Great food options and at good portion sizes too. Really comfortable place to hang out whether for just a coffee or for a meal. Gluten Free options are excellent to have.
Yvette
Great place, nice vibe and great friendly service.
Breakfast was fantastic
Excellent gluten free menu
Cap didnt have enough froth and regular size was a bit too large in size - but taste was good
finished off a weekend away nicely
Kim M
Nice selection of food choices in the cabinet and the menu..Had a lovely breakfast and lunch here a few times.

As a visitor to Palmerston North i tried most of the cafes over the 5 months i stayed there. Moxies was one of the best.

The staff are extremely polite friendly & welcoming,

Coffee is consistently good, and food selection is varied and very tasty.

i would have no hesitation in recommending Moxies for a quite coffee and a snack, or a full on meal.

Keep up the good work.

Ciaran

Great, funky and fresh! This place is welcoming and offers a great range of cabinet food, cold drinks and they do good coffee.
Ace
I love their mocha! real chocolate bits on top! yum!
Cassandra, John &
Great cafe. Not only is the selection of counter and menu food great but you are always made welcome. No matter how busy they are, they are more than happy to set up the clean highchair for our baby.
Great place for coffee and a huge selection of drinks too.
Greg Bryers
hey the food has been consistently excellent, the coffee well made and presented, the staff are always happy to see another set of faces walk through the door. if you are a regular always they remember you. try their wedges with the tumeric...wow beats pre-frozen battered stuff often served up and tasty to boot. my choice when in a hurry and hungry as well as just for a quiet coffee.
Cheers guys
Greg and Debbie
