Review Indian Love Story - Palmerston North

The best nan bread I have is from here! A hidden treasure really, as the shop is so invisible and hidden away with no signs pointing towards its direction. Perhaps it’s a family business, and they may have a small team so don’t want to get too busy? Regardless, the food is nice and I am satisfied. The waitresses there were very polite, lovely and respectful. Hard to not give her a tip!

We really enjoy Indian Love Story meals! Very delicious. However, i definitely agree with previous reviews in regard to the minimal amount of chicken in the curries. Same with entrees, when you pay nearly $20 for an entree (chicken65) and you receive 4-5 very small pieces of chicken it is very disappointing. Thankfully delicious even if small

Gosh this place is fantastic. Quite unique meals but be warned, they are huge. either come with a big appetite, share, or ask for a takeaway after the meal. Super friendly staff who genuinely want to make your experience a memorable one. Some of their dishes are only available here, in all of Palmy.

Best Indian ever... The lovely lady in the restaurant also makes the best mengo lassi.. The food is perfectly spiced and has diverse flavours

We came here to celebrate a couple of birthdays and were pleasantly surprised. Really nice ambience, excellent authentic Indian food, delightful nonintrusive service. Highly recommended

My second visit here. The first time it was with a group and we had a preselected range of dishes. I could not fault it. The second time also with a group and we selected individual courses. Having just been to another Indian restaurant in Auckland a few days prior it was good to compare as I had the same dish. My dish Mango chicken unfortunately did not match my previous experience. Although it had a good mango flavour I found it too sweet for a main course. It also failed in quantity as the amount of actual chicken was sparse. It was more like a soup dish. Thank heaven for the rice to soak it up. My guest enjoyed her dish but found it a small serving compared to our previous experience. Both dishes were more expensive than our Auckland meal. The nan bread though was very nice. The service was very friendly from this family owned restaurant and could not be faulted. As for drinks it’s BYO but I had a alcohol free beer which I was told came from the Middle East ....... avoid!

As a Motelier, we are always looking to add new dining experiences for our guests. We could not be more impressed with everything which makes this incredible restaurant such a wonderful addition to our in room compendium. The feedback from our guests has been extremely complimentary as well as incredibly positive. We are looking forward to working alongside this amazing business for some time

We were greeted by a young woman with sparkling eyes and that was just the start of a great dining experience. It was evident that the food was prepared with care and expertise. The spices popped, the fish was fresh, and the naan oh so good. Try the roasted fish chef’s special. An exquisite dish unlike any I’ve tasted before. The owner chef and his daughter both took time to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. Smiling eyes were all around. Lovely evening on all levels.

Ordered here a couple times over the last month they make the best curries in town and there garlic and cheese naan is the best. Happy I have finally found an indian resteraunt in palmerston north worth coming to as it was hard to match my old one I went to in Wellington but Indian Love Story is the best in Palmerston North by far

We had dinner at Indian Love Story just before Christmas and, boy!, was it delicious!

We shared two of the platters to start (both the vegetarian one and the non-vegetarian one), and then shared a few curries between us. Everything looked and tasted amazing. Fresh and flavourful.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was well-presented and stylishly decorated.

This is now our favourite family restaurant in Palmerston North and we highly recommend it to others.

Great for a group to share and taste a bit of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed my paneer tikka masala. Choose mild if you're averse to heat. Take your own booze - they don't have a liquor license.

One of the nicest Indian restaurants we have ever had the priviledge of visiting. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the place was looking great, great service, food & also really reasonably priced. Reasonable amount of parking nearby as well. Its in a complex off the road some distance so no traffic noise either. If the 1st person to pick up the phones english comprehension was a bit better I'd have given a 5 rating.

More than perfect.. Loved the food , the atmosphere, the service. Biryani is the best in Palmerston North for sure. Would go again for sure

Went with a few friends and had a great night. Curry was average, not outstanding but not bad at all. The vegetable simosa was fancy, served sizzling on hot plate. Biryani was really nice, full of flavour. The proportion was quite big and the price is affordable. I would recommend it to people that want to have a good long chat with friends as service was very nice and the restaurant isn't very busy compared to other Indians in town.

We visited this place with friends and got takeaway. Food had no flavour. There was no salt at all in one of the curries. One good thing was that the curries weren't sweet. One of our order was left on at the counter for 15 mins while other order was getting ready and it got cold. It's a shame they didn't have a hot plate or hot bulbs to out food under. Then they lied and said that the good hasn't been sitting there. Poor experience. Wish food had tasted better
