Review Burgerfuel Palmerston North - Palmerston North

Julie Forman
Our burgers were absolute flavor bombs! We loved the buns and the fresh taste of the patties and vegetables. The clever, eco-friendly packaging allows you to hold the burger and eat without too much mess. My daughter said her caramel milkshake was the best milkshake she had ever had. The ‘Most’ organic soda juices are also a recommended choice. Yes it was more pricey than what we usually pay for burgers but well worth the cost on our opinion. Staff were fairly efficient but a more person connection with us as customers would have made me give the 5 stars.

Really love eating the burgers from here. Never ever leave hungry. Food handling is awesome. Bit pricy but again, the burger is worth it for a full tummy. Atmosphere got slightly marked down due to having to nearly yell so my wife could hear me over the music (loved the music choice though). Service was amazing, cleanliness amazing too.

Tasty food, friendly team. Love the new packaging for the burgers. Update: Still so good Chicken Poppers are sooooo yum usually they come with sauce but I had to share with a fussy kid. Next time I won't be sharing 😅

absolutely amazing did not expect the service to be so good. the young man at the counter (riley I think his name was) lovely manners and was very accommodating. the other young man that brought us our food was very friendly and made us want to order again haha, his name was Jacob. you have an outstanding team at your Palmerston north store. I as a chef myself, was very very impressed. thank you. I will definitely be returning again.

I come in every now and again and mostly deal with Riley (I believe that's what he said his name was). He's always beyond friendly and accomodating, and the food is always superb. Big kudos.

Pleased with the service and friendly staff, food is always excellent and even though it cost more than the other places, you receive value for the cost.

food was delicious, for me. service was alright, but we were only there for takeaway so cant say to much. the atmosphere fits the theme, and they even have a couple of old retro arcade machines which is pretty awesome

Excellent customizable burgers. Always amazing service from the staff. Regular specials. Incredible shakes. Highly recommended.

Best burger fuel experience ever. The guy at the counter brought us a menu, asked if we had been before. My friend hadn't and so he explained the menu to her. Then while we were sitting down he came back over to check how our meal was going. Amazing customer service team. The food was on point too.

fresh ingredients, nice and tasty burgers. good vegetarian/vegan options. expect to pay around $15-20 (if you’re a chips person like me) for a meal.

We're so satisfied with our food and drinks at Burgerfuel. Will definitely come back again.

Always quite busy but they have great service regardless. Their patties, be it beef or chicken, are consistently juicy, succulent, and you can taste the gourmet quality which sets them apart from other burger joints. They have several fillings which always complement the patty and are refreshing. The flavours of each ingredient mold together well with each other. Kumara fries with aioli are a must, as well as their strawberry milkshake.

Fantastic staff, tasty & fast food, amazing thick shakes. Highly recommend the special at the moment the nacho libre - add jalapeños and bacon; so good! Also had chicken fenders- so tasty! BurgerFuels aioli is to DIE for.

Burgerfuel in Palmerston North used to be pretty decent in terms of quality and customer service up till recently. There's a new guy there today who was very rude when I asked for a new milkshake. Being fans of their thick shakes, I could immediately recognise when it wasn't up to standard. Unfortunately this dude came back with the same liquidy milkshake AND blamed it on other staff members for serving me bad milkshakes continuously in the past. What a load of crap.

If that wasn't enough, he was salty af and served me the chicken tenders in a soggy bag filled with grease. I've never seen this happen at burgerfuel. Needless to say, I'm not going back any time soon.

I will start by saying that this is the best burger ive had in Palmerston North, my family and I eat here frequently. I sent my husband out last night to get the family burgers for dinner. All was accurate and cooked fresh, chips were perfect but I had added avocado to my bambino burger. I opened it up and was very disappointed at what I found. I think when you are paying for extra add ons then it should be recognizable.
I hope someone of authority can see this and train staff to fix this issue.
I rated a a 3 because the food is always spot on but skimping on paid extras is a bit dishonest.

First impressions - all the ambiance of a metal fabrication workshop complete with annoying background machinery sounds, worn and ripped customer seating and dubious graphic design. Out table was dirty. It doesn't get better unfortunately.

The burger I had ("Bio Fuel") was identical to any egg burger you might be served in your local takeaway but cost twice as much. The potato chips were OK but portion sizes are small. The kumara chips were soggy. The motobites were quite good, however this one concession to general awfulness was offset by being charged 70c for 5c worth of tomato sauce. Yes, they charge for tomato sauce, and the portion was tiny. Wow. Not even posh cafes charge for ketchup.

Drinks, I asked for a Coca Cola and was handed an organic cola, not what I asked for, and when I requested water the staff member pointed at large bottles of water in the fridge, no glasses and tap water.

All in all a totally crap "restaurant" to which I will not return in any hurry, people who rave about this place don't get out much. Compared to premium burgers in the UK, USA etc this place is decidedly piss-poor. It ain't no Fergburger, more like Burger Wisconsin for bogans, only crap.

The 2.5 is for the friendly staff and the food was quite edible, however far too overpriced to be worth the trouble.

Best burger and chips in Palmerston North. However very expensive but well worth it for a luxurious treat. Love their aoili sauce with thick chips. They do come in really small sizes but are filling enough. Highly recommended.

Burgerfuel never fails to disappoint.
I always order the 1/3 pounder and kumera fries and I am always satisfied. People complain about how expensive everything is but if you were to sit in a cafe and order fries and a burger you would be paying the same amount. Price doesn't stop me from purchasing food from here. The burgers are top quality and the aioli is so delicious. Staff are always polite and look happy to be working there.
It is by far my favourite place to grab dinner or lunch 🍔🍟💛

Really good consistent quality food and great service. Yes it's a little expensive but you will struggle to get through the whole burger and because it's qualify you don't have that yuck feeling afterwards like what you get with the normal fast food chains

It's a great place to get quality burgers. I'm not a fan of BurgerFuel as the price of the meals put me off. I've spent $50 here for my wife and I just for lunch, and then thought I could have just taken her to a fancy restaurant for that price.

Not very impressed that they've cut down their amount of vegetarian options. It used to be one of the few places a vegetarian had heaps of choice.

Well let me first say that the staff were brilliant. Friendly and helpful in understanding the menu. But I didn't go for the staff. I ordered the 1/3 pound burger with cheese and bacon. My first response was ugh! The bun was too soft the meat looked like it had gone though some kind of liquefier and there were essentially no vegetables on the burger. A huge disappointment.

I feel this is an organization that has spent their entire effort on the branding and precious little on the food. If you take two of the more popular burger chains in the US, 5 Guys and In-and-Out, you will see they focus on the food and the ambience becomes unnecessary.

For Burger Fuel to call themselves a "Gourmet" burger makes me wonder if they know what it is to be gourmet, or even what a burger is. To top it of the meal was expensive coming at at over $20 for a hamburger fries and a shake. That is insane.

All I can say is avoid this place and don't be a burger fool!
Rich
As good as it gets fast food wise, the nicest burgers I have ever eaten, great staff, fast turnaround. Buns are always fresh, as is the lettuce and tomato. The staff are animated and keen to look after you, a very well run little shop, these guys deserve to do well.

Just had the basic chick combo for dinner. Briliant. Lovely friendly staff. The young maori boy running the food out to customers is a gem. Smiley and friendly. Food is of the usual Burger Fuel standard. Great value for the quality. And the spud fries with aioli are best! Get yourself to Burger Fuel if you want good burger.

good burgers, not that well made however, pretty lopsided. plus my friends burger didn't have avacado which is why she ordered that particular burger. expensive too. the malt shakes are good but not $4.60 good.

Burgers taste awesomely good!! Definitely recommended if you usually just go to places like BK or McD's. Usually a bit of a wait, however that's because there's always people in there, which is a good sign right!
Georgia
Great tasting burgers cool fries. Awesome staff, A cool place to eat!!!

Quick service, very nice burgers, cheeky staff.

Good, but food took a while to cook.

When burgerfuel is good, it is really good! but I have noticed that Palmerston North's burger construction is not always at the same high consistency it should be.
