Review Aqaba - Palmerston North

Great service, great food, great coffee, free wifi with a good atmosphere. 10/10 recommend for a casual business lunch doing work, or a full evening dining.

Took me a while to go here as there was nothing on the menu that stood out to me, but was curious about it as there had recently been a change of ownership. Though nothing too out of the norm, the fried chicken and Turkish pizza (more like a bread) were so good!! The food was great and service fine, but I was most impressed with the decor. It really felt like you were in a whole different country being inside of Aqaba, everything was very authentic and so nice to be in. It was quite busy for lunchtime which is rare for Palmerston so that must mean they're doing pretty good so far. Highly recommend!

Booked a table for 7pm. When we arrived they pointed to the table. Service was good. The food was delicious but the portions were massive, not a bad thing if you eat a lot ๐Ÿ‘

Had a delightful evening here celebrating an anniversary. Not sure what to have for dinner? Grab yourself an Aqaba platter. Great for two people. With Calamari, Pork Belly, Fried Chicken, breads, spreads and dips. A big thank you to waitress Thali and owner Nathan (aka Rat) for looking after us. We'll see you next time.

I had an awesome meal, buttermilk chichen was delicious. Didn't need the extra bbq sauce on ribs but still tender and yum. Caramel creme brulee was so smooth and creamy. Staff were helpful but rather short staffed.

Great place for a coffee and afghan. Good service, friendly staff, Iโ€™m back to being a regular. Good atmosphere, looking forward to coming back for dinner.

A friend and I had a wine catch-up at Aqaba a couple weeks ago. From the start the service was amazing. We were tended to by the manager I believe. We had Bao buns and a burger which we both enjoyed. Some more meat on the burger would not hurt but still tasted good and was filling enough. Chocolate brownie for desert was amazing and massive! The atmosphere was quiet as we were there early but the place seems like it has a great vibe later in the evening. We will be back again.

Two girls serving, both were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast were lovely, soft poached eggs and crispy rosti. Would come back!

Great place to catch up with your friends. Pork Rib was delicicous with savory gravy like sauce and so soft, easily cut with knife since it is slowly cooked twice in oven๐Ÿ‘Œ

Dropped in for a late lunch on the 29th Dec. This has always been a fairly popular place for us, as it always has something to please everyone. It has been a few years since we last ate here, but it seems to be pretty much the same. Menu still has a good range of offerings, which are served nicely. Family and friends enjoyed the fries, pancakes, a scallop salad and pulled pork sliders. My sweet potato fries were a bit disappointing as they were pretty soggy and I could only eat half of them. They can be a bit tricky to get just right as they burn easily, and go limp quickly if left for too long after frying. McCains do an outstanding sweet potato wedge, which is a hundred times better as a product, and spoil it for every other sweet potato fry after you tried them. It was very long wait for lunch, and felt longer than the 30 mins we were warned about. Possibly a bit short handed in the kitchen due to the holiday period? Overall, a 3.5 out of 5.

I went for dinner tonight with a small group and had the most amazing vegan open falafel sandwich. I would honestly say it is one of the best vegan meals I've had in town. Really hearty with a generous ammount of really well made falafel. I will definitely be back to get it again. The meat eaters in the group really enjoyed their meals too. Aqaba is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. The service is always great.
