Just found this great cafe. The staff were friendly and obviously enjoy their work. I got a veggie breakfast and was blown away. Great variety on the plate. Cooked to perfection. I actually struggled to finish it. Highly recommend this cafe.

Lovely little intimate cafe. Food is always delicious. If you want to make any changes to your meal it is never an issue and they have great customer service. Highly recommended The Stage Door Cafe

Great and friendly service, great cafe-like ambience and aesthetic decor! The food was worth the wait; both burgers were immense! If you're super hungry, craving a good meal, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Most importantly it's very good coffee. Nice and hot. The milkshakes are generous and very thick. The muffin had a nice balance of flavours and was light and fluffy. Highly recommend

Very good service, food great, friendly staff and good setting!

Wow! Best mocha in town! I usually find cafe mochaccinos too sickly sweet, but this was the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate flavour for me, without the sticky syrupy finish. The quinoa stack (think I'm remembering the name right) is a "to die for" vegetarian option, a very satisfying meal. Hard to resist! Lovely staff and cosy dining atmosphere.

Fabulous birthday brunch, new owners and food standard gone up so much, in the last 3 months. New decor and now displaying some beautiful artwork from local artists

First time at this cafe and we will be back. Staff were friendly and great customer service. They were more than happy to swap a item due to diet needs.Food was amazing

Yum tea! It can be hard to find decent black tea in cafes as the coffee culture has meant many ignore tea drinkers, but I took a punt, and it was tasty and strong! Get your tea here! Friendly staff too.

We stopped in for coffee and possibly the best cheese scone Ive had.
The kids loved their hot chocolates, my flat white was perfect.
Friendly, helpful staff-we'll be back

Had lunch with a friend on 15 September. Service was friendly and prompt. The cafe was busy but tables etc were clean with no dirty dishes to be seen. Music was a bit too loud - had to shout to talk. My friend said her quiche was very tasty and the portion was a good size. I had french toast with maple syrup, bacon & banana. Generous amount of syrup was good, and good amount of bacon. But the banana hadn't been cooked at all, so it was firm and cold. There was a random piece of apple held above my meal on a skewer, which was really weird. Coffee was nice & strong.

I enjoyed my experience here with my family, yummy french toast and eggs benedict! Coffee was great, and the staff were very prompt, friendly, and very helpful when we asked for more water, coffees etc.
Two thumbs up!

I waited 25 - yes, 25 minutes for the staff to heat my panini. It wasn't overly busy, and I wasn't impressed in the slightest. At least the guy who served me knows how to smile, because the rest of the staff seem to be lacking that talent! I used to go here a lot, and the place has gone severly down hill. I think I will give it one last try - I hope I can rate it better next time.

Have never tried Stage Door until today, was really pleased.
Was greeted by a very bubbly friendly young lady who immediately made me feel welcome.
Enjoyed my coffee, without a doubt the best I've had in Palmerston North!
Will definitely be back very soon!

Favourite cafe in Palmy.

Never had an issue with service, even when busy.

Eggs bene is amazing, and is always cooked properly, no hard yolks like a lot of places. And the cabinet pasta salad is awesome.

Great coffee, nice staff!

We won't be going back and here's why.
1. The service is poor. We waited for over 20 minutes for a muffin and a sandwich while people after us were all receiving food.

2. Nobody smiles and you are made to feel like we are an inconvenience for them.

3. We watched the person on the till put muffins, lasagna, and sandwiches on plates with her unwashed hands. Pity we had already eaten ours at that point.

If customer experience is important to you then give Stage Door a miss.

If I could give no stars I could.

nice little 'out of the way ' cafe, great coffee food was good, agree staff could be a little happier to see you, but to be fair they did their job well when we visited.

Visiting from Hawkes bay and after a reccomendation from a friend was very dissapointed.
Attitude from a lady whom seemed like she was the owner.
Terrible.
Surely there must be a cafe in Palmerston North where food, atmosphere and attitudes are all working tirelessly together?
Not the same as the standard im used to in Havelock North.
If im paying for an enjoyable time at YOUR establishment then i expect at least a smile.
Maybe John Cleese was right.

Coffee is fantastic, food is amazing and they use such good quality ingredients and present it all very well with large portions. Sometimes the staff can be rude but honestly, I don't care when my coffee is consistently good and food is always amazing

The coffee here is superb; there is no doubt of that. However...waiting fifteen minutes for a small mochachino? Not so superb.
Sher
Staff there sure do know how to make a good coffee. Bit of a cramped environment however.
Ben
Amazing coffee, amazing food but some of the staff are rather rude.

Best tasting coffee in town. Great atmosphere. Needs longer opening hours!!
Sarah
Cosy, but not oppressive atmosphere inside cafe. Range of music complementary to design of the place. Consistent quality coffee. Coffee presented with flair. Good range of cabinet food, easy for take away or a sneaky fill me in before dinner. Worth a visit.
