Review Libre - Palmerston North

We have looked at going here for a meal for ages and never gotten round to it. Boy have we been missing out. Parking was our biggest problem as George Street is a popular dining destination. As soon as you walk down the street and see the entrance festooned with fairy lights you know you are going to be in for a good time. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. They have a great selection of drinks and why wouldn't you have a margaritas? Table service was excellent and the chicken starter we had was devine followed by incredible mains. My pulled pork queasadilla was delicious - there is an option for chicken or beef too. The only disappointment we had was the desert, are church's meant to be crispy?

Fabulous and attentive staff and even better cocktails. If you prefer not to wait for a staff member to take your order you can order from the app with a QR code on every table. A chill vibe. It's a great place for after work drinks and snacks.

Went her for birthday celebration. Turned out to be la lotería night. Had an awesome time. Announcer was spectacular and funny. She kept crowd engaged. Staff was great. Food and drinks were cost efficient and great tasting.

Very nice selection of Mexican food and drinks. We used the Order App that you can download using a QR code on the table and it only took a few minutes to set up and order, we got our meals well before those that ordered through the lovely waitress. We had a large group and there was food assortments for everyone including the children. Alcoholic everages were delicious! Nice atmosphere as well.

Wonderful meal, nice decor and friendly staff. Recommend the Fiesta Platter.

Cocktails are FANTASTIC!!!!! Elote and the loaded fries! Delicious! Lovely staff, super friendly.... when drinking margaritas 🍹 skip the straw and drink from the glass....the salt is next level! They also often have Bingo/Lotaria. we went on a night hosted by a drag queen and it was so much fun.

We had food allergy issues and our waiter just couldn't have been any more helpful.. great staff, great food, awesome atmosphere.. we went to play bingo and completely loved it...

Attentive waitress, never left hanging, and the food and the cocktails were yummy shaken mango margarita was my fave and the 🌽 ,jalapeno Poppers had a nice kick kind of expenny but definitely good for a change. We got the platter so we could trya few different things.

Great service, friendly staff and DELICIOUS food. The best tasting grilled corn I've ever had and super tasty chicken. I split the Frida's platter with a friend, which gave us a taste of most things on the menu. The cocktails were great too! Some items are a bit out of the student budget, but worth every cent!

Beautiful place a for our leisurely lunch! Love the decor. We tried the beef check taco, fish taco and corn chips and guacamole. The jarritos are also a firm favourite. Great service.

Wednesday night bingo is amazing... We were lucky enough to go here on bingo night which was and absolute blast! The food was brilliant as well, I definitly recommend the quesadillas and anything with the fried chicken... So good!

I love it, quesadillas is so so sooooo great. ♥️ Will be back for more. Highly recommended. Staff are friendly, price is reasonable 🙂

Good vibes and comfy seats. Good amount of food for the price. Delicious food. Right amount of seasoning with home made Chillisauce for extra spice! Wait time for mains are about 10-15mins. The chicken starters is delicious! Will go again

We ordered the “Libre Feasting Plate” and it was very filling and tasty (3 tortillas or corn chips w/ choice of taco meat, guac, refried beans, Mexican rice, sour cream). We came opening night so things were perhaps not as streamlined as they otherwise would be but the food was delicious and service was friendly and accommodating. I expect things will likely be better when we come back and this will become a 5-star review 😉 Glad to have a good Mexican restaurant in Palmy! Clap
