Review Pizza Box - Papakura

Highly, highly recommend! Personally think it's one of the best cafe's in Papakura! Good prices for some plates as they have big servings. Such nice presentation of the ordered food and those in the cabinet , friendly staff, and open bright space. Make sure you check out their special dishes. Will definitely be coming back here more often :)

Huge menu to choose from. Cabinet food and full menu. Recommend the seafood chowder. Largest serving I have ever had. Coffee topped it off.

It has a strong coffee scent. It's a place where you can drink coffee and talk comfortably until late.

I went in to have a coffee. To be fair I was in a pretty foul mood before arriving but the staff were great. The coffee was on point, the food came out quickly and all together and it was delicious. I left feeling better and very content. I did go and thank all the staff for the pleasant experience and for putting me in a better mindset for the day. Awesome work team!

Bit costly but the food tastes good, nice staff. It's a bit quiet in there, there needs to be some kind of music playing I'd say. And yes, I did use knife and fork for eating pizza. :)

Beautiful setting from the outset! Nice environment and served with a smile is always a great start to the day. We ordered the eggs Benedict and big breakfast with a moccachino and juice food was soo good we came back! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the parking as it only has limited parking space.

Great brunch today, my husband and I loved this place. Cannot recommend enough. Service, food, coffee, ambiance was all spot on.

We often stop off at Papakura for lunch. We had not been to The Pizza Box and I decided to try it out. The cafe/restaurant is nice and bright with a good menu. I ordered a chicken filo wrap and a coffee. The coffee was excellent - great taste and lovely and hot. Staff were not unfriendly, but not as pleasant as some. I will not be back however, as the chicken filo wrap was a disaster. It looked as thought it was thrown together in a hurry, with big lumps of doughy filo ( I didn't know filo could be so dense), a lump of spinach, a lump of cream cheese with chilli flavouring, and a few bits of chicken. Flavours ( apart from the filo) were ok but they should have been mixed and spread evenly. I left the big lumps of pastry that had no filling. I couldn't believe the standard was so poor for the price, so am not prepared to risk anything else. I wish now I had taken a photo but it never entered my head at the time.

This is the best place to have coffee or lunch in local vicinity. Satay chicken pizza is one of my favorite and there muffins are great too. The only area this cafe can improve is in customer service plus they need a new machine for receipts.

First time here..came in today for lunch.. food was on point very yum.. service on point very friendly.. definitely be coming back again.. 😋😋😋

Friendly cafe, love their cabinet food. Honestly obsessed with the beetroot choc cake it is so GOOD. Good coffee and just a standard local cafe with decent food and good service

If it’s only for food then I would give 4.5 stars but every time I go to this place, the service I receive is terrible. Staff doesn’t seem happy to work at this place. They don’t care about their customers

Love this place.....we've been here a handful of times and never been disappointed. The staff are friendly, the pizza is soooo tasty with plenty of toppings and a nice variety of flavors. I recommend this place if you're looking for a great pizza 😊

Food was pretty average, we all ordered something different, one had a pizza, the other a burger and I had the soup and it was all below average. Pizza is overpriced for what you get. Disappointed.

Love this place the staff are so friendly and the food is usually spot on. My favourite used to be the Turkish fold over but then they changed the ingredients. Their muffins are the best!

Nice ambience! Really yummy pizzas and pancakes and coffee. Though I think some dishes are quite standard and basic and pricey ...The pizzas are really good though and the best I've ever tasted.

Seems to have really dropped in value/quality.<br/>I had a lasagne for $17.50 - should have been $7.50 (tasted ok but just reheated out of the cabinet)<br/>Wife got a regular pizza (maybe 250mm dia if they were lucky) for $14.50 - value of abt $4.50<br/>Kids meals really tiny.<br/>We left and went somewhere else to complete our dinner. Wont be going back

Me and my husband love coming here for brunch mostly but sometimes for dinner too. Really good food and service! They do a really good coffee too.

Pizza bases tasted like they were bought from countdown, pizza was bland and flavourless, chicken on my pizza was dry as hell and again, flavorless. Fries looked like they'd been picked up from McDonald's. Pizzas were horribly overpriced, could've got better at Pizza Hut. Not good, wouldn't go back.

Sad looking chicken salad and too much dressing had to put a search party out to find the chicken. Croutons for days lol. I usually like pizza box but today was not your day. Almost $20 for a salad where the lettuce was white ( which indicates old) but instead drowned in sauce.

Came here on Saturday afternoon only had wedges and drinks with a slice. We enjoyed every bite and sip.But the service was fantastic very friendly staff. The decor of the place is very nice and very clean and tidy. Will return to try more off menu as staff made us feel welcome Thank You Bonnie, Owen & Liam ☕

We had take out from here last night. We ordered x4 pizzas and x2 fries. When my sister in law phoned to place the order she had to phone back as the lady taking the order hung up before taking any details and telling her how long the wait would be so we were slightly worried that we would receive what we ordered. We used to go to the other branch of the pizza box frequently if when we were in the area and the sticky date pudding was the pudding my husband would compare all other puddings to as he loved it that much! I always would have the try Thai pizza which is what I had again last night but with the gluten free base, it wasn't as good as I remembered but it was still a nice pizza and fantastic that gluten free bases are avaliable. All of the other pizzas looked nice and my family were all happy with their meal.

Have been to Pizza Box a few times. People expect a lot these days, but sometimes there are just places that do good food at a good price - not amazing, but good and reliable.<br/>PB is one of those places.<br/>It's always good to try the simple things to see how these work out. Today I tried the toasted bagel which as a bagel lover is one of the best I've had! No doubt comes down to the bagel which I don't think they make, but great produce none the less.<br/>Coffee was also good (great actually) not burnt & bitter like it sometimes can be.<br/>

I find that the pizza box is always just OK, it never wows me but I never leave upset with my meal either. The pizzas are well priced and they have a lot of options starting at a simple Hawaiian pizza to a Sunday roast pizza with potatoes and roast lamb as toppings. The service is below average but they are efficient and get your order out quickly. It's a good place to go if you just want to eat out but go in your sweatpants at the same time.

Nice setting. A bit pricey. I normally get the bacon salad for $19. It's very filling, healthy and tasty. The pizza's are small so recommend getting the larger size. The salad's used to be bigger but have gotten a bit smaller in 2015, but still very good. The staff are friendly. :)

After driving past many times I finally succumbed... And picked up some takeaways from Papakura Pizza Box. The food was good, but portions really small. For $41 I think I got maybe $20 worth of food. Will go back to making my own gourmet pizzas next time! After being told my order would take 15 mins it was ready in about 10 min so that was good! But my food was the only order being cooked. Summary: mixed, but won't return.

A bit hot and miss the PapAkura one. The food lately has not been the best. Coffee ok they have a nice stuffed Kumara which is really yummy. Breakfast are good but sometimes bacon is over cooked and very hard. Nice atmosphere.

Don't bother going the service and food is definitely hit and miss. Had a scone there a week ago and it was disgusting. Gave them another chance this week and had a toasted sandwich which was appalling, cold untoasted and my companion had the same and hers was worse, cold ham and not toasted. Complained to the manager, got no apology and guess what a free toasted sandwich voucher. However, my companion went in the next day got a different manager who apologised profusely and was given a free coffee and a 20 dollar voucher. So sorry Pizza Box because of this you have not only lost 2 customers but also a party of 5 every Wednesday.

Just had the worlds worst burger - It must have been the Chef's day off.. because no one who's ever cooked a burger before could possibly have made this one..!! Clearly the burger pattie had been burned on both sides, so an autopsy of sorts appears to have been performed, with I'm assuming the 'really' badly burned pieces removed.. leaving a broken crumbled burnt mess behind.. A severely liberal amount of chutney/salsa was applied, I'm assuming in an effort to disguise the pattie, which was then topped off with a almost raw slice of bacon..!!! a side of undercooked chips finished the ensemble..!! Terrible.!

I've been to the Pizza Box a few times and really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, it's very open and light and every time I've been it is busy! The food displays are fantastic and the coffee is really good too! And how could I forget those date scones?

Consistently great food and awesome coffee... as it is my local and there isn't allot in Papakura it's nice to have a really great cafe just down the road. The service is fast and friendly, the cafe is new and stylish with indoor outdoor areas plus comfy seating in booth or table style. Also they have a gluten free menu which is awesome :-)

We went to The Pizza Box for the first time last week, and it was great. <br/><br/>Friendly staff, excellent service and delicious food. Our coffees were ready before we sat down- and they were fantastic.<br/><br/>We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and we will be back soon.

Pizza dribbled with sweet non Italian sauces ... putrid really and just sweet. Catering for the obese or the sweet toothed or the "need carbs " brigade.

Went there once and never went back.<br/>Had ordered a kids meal for my daughter. Chips were half frozen, (obviously frozen) pizza was crap. And they don't know their own menu. For example, if the kids meal comes with a drink, and i pay for that meal, yes i am expecting the drink too.

Was pleasantly surprised here. Great decor being a newer restaurant in Papakura, everything nice, clean and neat. Pizzas and fries were great and very tasty. Will be returning. One of the better places to go "out" for a meal in Papakura without spending lots. Do always check they are open however if you're heading out for a later dinner (8pm) - they have been shut early a few times we've been planning to go!
