One of the best Thai restaurants in South Auckland. The feel and the warmth you get inside the restaurant is amazing. Great taste with great customer service. Very polite people with always a smile on their faces. Wonderful environment. Must visit place if you are in Papakura In addition to above, if they take time to make your food, don’t worry they making the food that your taste buds will always love

Big portions of the meal and rice. Very delicious and tasty. Only giving 4 stars because Massamum curry was mostly sauce and onions. Had to look for pieces of meat, potatoes and carrots.

Food is great. Dining area is very peaceful and comfortable. I'm disappointed though that the in store menu prices and what we were charged differed and when I tried to clarify the reason for the price difference, there was no explanation given. I realise now both times I have been there I have been charged $2.50 extra than what the menu says. Disappointed as I love the dining area and the food, the food portions are huge but not happy with being overcharged. Edit: I went to the restaurant again last night, giving them another chance after 2 years or so of not going there, I asked the lady if the prices on the menu were accurate she said yes as there is a disclosure on their menu "All prices are subject to change without notice". Wanted to avoid being overcharged like twice previously. We were charged correctly this time. The food was lovely and big portions. I regularly order through door dash or uber eats.

We come here often and always enjoy it. Cosy restaurant and food is delicious. It is a bit of a wait but algud if you have some drinks. Cocktails are strong as lol.

Great food, and you have to wait because they are always busy and often understaffed, but if you dont mind waiting it is sure worth it.

Lovely Tom yum and Tom Kha ordered via uber eats. Hard to find food that is actually spicy when you ask for a spicy option. Their spice level is definitely acceptable but I would love if there were an even spicier option, even if that incurred extra cost. Would be nice if you guys would publish what days you are going to make yourself available on uber eats and what days you're not.

Food outstanding but we went the night there was only one (lovely lady) so ended up being there hours. Probably would have been better to do takeout only.

Delicious, takes us back to our favourite place. We really enjoyed our takeaway meals tonight. We have dined in many times, food is always great, the staff always happy and welcoming each visit.

This is a well established Thai restaurant with on-street parking. They also do takeaway along side dine-in. The setting is intimate and the food is great. We only found the spirits have a small serving size, I would recommend a beer as it has a standard sizing. Also, the table was a bit sticky. Otherwise, a really friendly and enjoyable restaurant.

I remember going here as a kid to get takeaways and nothing has changed, still some of the best Thai I've eaten. Unfortunately the service was lacking a bit but I didn't know the sitiuation, perhaps they were short staffed. Nonetheless they gave some freebies away to waiting customers to keep everyone happy. Great spot where you can pick up some tasty Thai, also a decent serving size too!

Polite staff. The menu prices are not yet updated online or on their takeaway menu but the dishes and their descriptions are the same. A slight wait at busy times for service. A cosy interior. Tasty food. I did however find a long black hair in my takeaway satay chicken skewers on this visit.

Never disappointed with my meals here- lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff, it's great to have a place like this in papakura

I’m so very impressed with this restaurant, <br/>I’ve had many different Thai dishes but my favourite is Penang curry. <br/>I’ve eaten this dish all over Australia in some incredible restaurants and can 100% say this is actually my favourite Penang by far. <br/>In little south auckland which was a huge surprise. <br/>Coconut rice was well cooked, <br/>And the assortment of entrees I ordered were just lovely. <br/>Keep up the great work tipparost 🙂<br/>

We ended up here last Sunday after a really bad experience trying to order at another local Thai restaurant, we were upset and anxious and felt hideous about the awful experience we’d just had and left from. We were greeted by the most friendly and wonderful waiter ever, I asked immediately if they could make vegan food for us before being seated and he said of course, whatever we wanted, not a problem at all. We ordered four dishes and they were all incredible, so delicious, flavoursome and fresh. It was such a great experience with amazing service and food. Thank you so much! We’ll be back often!

I had ordered pork money bags from here. What I got was potato money bags. Upon questioning we were informed that she had forgotten to inform us that they didn’t have pork ones anymore. That was fine with me and I had told her I don’t want veg ones. But then she went on to say that you have to pay for the money bags regardless of whether you have eaten them or not. We are regular customers over there regardless of their food being average. This was my worst experience in a restaurant and the manager was so rude even though it was their mistake. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to have a nice and pleasant dinner. The restaurant is always empty and is too expensive for what they serve. We had to wait 1 hour over there and they didn’t even bring the mains out. We just had to walk out of there after paying for what we had drank and ate.

Try Fried ice cream here. Its delicious. Great and amazing Thai authentic food here. Also the aromatic environment in restaurant makes you feel you are in Thailand. Must go place.

Date night on a Saturday with my cave man....drove around city ended up back South Auckland Papakura at this place ( Tipparost ) Thai restaurant. Been past this place how many times and finally decided to check it out. This place was quite but very friendly. Staff were ready to greet and seat you to your table, gave us our menus and a couple of minutes later staff was there to take our order. Fast service for sure. Because we were new to this place we were two blind mice’s not knowing what our orders are lol. Orders came through and we were very happy with our orders. Think will try other menus next time.

Unfortunately our Mother's day meal out was a bit of a disaster. We have enjoyed meals at Tipparost for many years. They must have been short staffed last night as 80 minutes after ordering our meal had not arrived.we had to get grand children home and left without having our meal. You really let yourselves down Tipparost.

Great food and amazing service!! They were so prompt in taking order, bringing drinks, food was prompt and well portioned, then dessert was perfectly timed. Definitely going back again.

This establishment was very well presented and reminded me of back home in South East Asia. Very homey and lovely food and staff highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing thai food.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!! I go there all the time and highly recommend their green Thai curry. Great service, very nice and welcoming love the authentic atmosphere! Always my go to when I feel like Thai. Love the spring rolls aswell just overall great food! :)

Food portions are small. I feel expensive for what I got. Although service was responsibly quick I would not go back. Soup had hardly any vegetables in. Spring rolls tasted like they were from frozen.

Was a favourite of mine until I got a takeaway order. The person who took the order English really bad and ended up with way over what ordered would not except they were wrong had to pay for their mistake will not be going back there. <br/>

just had the takeaway service tonight.. used to come here alot and not sure what's happened but the food and portions have gone downhill all i can say is very average and for the price of 70 for 2 people the amount of meat was prity disgusting for the cost. other takeaways out there which are better now sad to say.<br/>

Came for partners birthday. We hadn't booked but they accommodated us on a Tuesday as a table of 8. The highlight was the green prawn curry. Unfortunately 2 out of 3 pad thai were undercooked, and it was well over 30min between our first main arriving and the last and no drinks service... unfortunate experience. I hope they can lift their game

Got this for the first time last night for a takeaway dinner. Incredibly over priced and undersized portions, $19.90 for the smallest container of sweet n sour chicken i've ever had. Food was bland or had an unpleasant taste. Will not be returning.

Went to Tipparoast for Valentines dinner and to say it was TERRIBLE would be an understatement! Everyone around us including those that arrived after us had been served their food. One table arrived half an hour after us, was served, ate and had left while we were still waiting! One of the ladies from that dinner party had noticed we were still waiting after an hour and had felt sorry for us and stopped to ask what the hold up was whilst she was leaving. We had approached the waiters 5 times to see what was taking so long and we got the same answer " Yes it's coming soon". After waiting 1.5 hours with still NO FOOD we left. Utterly disappointed!!! I regret not going to Emerald Thai across the road which is a lot better

Friendly service and good food :) The satay chicken entree is very nice and has a strong peanut flavour. For main I had the Yellow curry, it was quiet boring and didnt have much flavour at all. For desert I had the Banana fritters, they would good, and nice served with the ice cream and custard.

Went for takeaway. Fast and great service. The staff were so friendly and brilliant, Thanks for the nice night. Had the pad thai and the gaeng penang, they were delicious. Pad thai was huge. Thank you!

Foods good, staff were rude. Had the pad thai, very basic meal but is full of flavour and very authentic! Was great. However the staff were rude and each had different costs for the same drinks each time we got drinks (was in a group so went up three times to pay and get drinks). Have been there other times and staff were ok but they were never amazing.

This restaurant has fantastic food, good drinks and a great authentically Thai atmosphere! Have been here twice for family birthday dinners and Tipparost hasn't disappointed either time. The staff deliver great service, and are very friendly and accommodating.

One of the best Thai restaurant in Papakura. Authentic Thai flavors and food presentation is impressive. Not the best location but people come in for the sumptuous meal. Their curries are amazing. Be it green, red and yellow curry. Pad Thai and spring rolls are my faves. Must visit if you're in Papakura. It's worth a try 😉

Cute place, good food for its cheap price, nice service. I have nothing bad to say about this lovely local place. My wife and I had the popular chicken cashew nut stir fry and honestly the best green curry seafood we've had. Cheers.

Always driven paat this place and thought about going. finally did it. Really great setout resturant the mood was relaxing. Food was quite nice and the curry had a good bite. Partner had the fried rice which she liked but didnt rave about. Only downfall was the price yes we did have entrees but you can go and get the same down the road takeaway for half the price.

This place is cute and private, an unexpected gem hidden in Papakura. <br/>Went out looking for something to satisfy my late night cravings and this was one of the few places still open after 9pm!<br/>Ordered the green Thai curry, fish cakes and spring rolls. The spring rolls were tasty but a little oily. The curry itself was balanced and hot, and the portions were hearty. Flavour wise it was slightly sweet and very coconut creamy, I really enjoyed it. The fish cakes were a little soggy and chewy, and let the meal down a bit, but overall the food was tasty.<br/>

Never had better Thai food anywhere else before. I don't know what "Missy" is on about but food at Tipparost has never been a disappointment for me. <br/><br/>I've been a regular at this place for the past few years and I've never been let down by the food served. The staff speaks good english and customer service is great. Although on busy nights food things maybe slow but the food had always been great!<br/><br/>Tipparost is an absolute fave! In all of South Auckland I recommend Tipparost Thai restaurant ONLY!

Yuck. Our takeaways didn't even taste Thai. There was minimal spice and hardly any flavor in any of our dishes. Emerald Thai across the road is a million times better.

Don't eat here. They overcharge and the food is well below par. This used to be the only option for Thai in Papakura, but that's not the case anymore. I went in to purchase some soup, the takeaway menu clearly indicated $7.50 but I was charged $8.50 and to add insult to injury it was a small container with less than 200mil. Also, there was no seafood in my seafood soup. Very disappointing.

Ordered takeout for the first time after much anticipation. Can't say I was blown away but I'm not completely dissatisfied. Had the pad Thai chicken, it lacked that subtle pad Thai flavour I love was more like wok fried noodles with a bit of char which wasn't so bad but did not satisfy the Thai yearning I had. Also ordered the Tom Ka Gai soup which was average but nice. Would dine in next time to see if the flavour experience is different. Half way for me.

Went here for dinner Saturday night first time and enjoyed the experience, the food was authentic, flavourful and hot. Portion sizes were very reasonable we had left overs to take home, the prices were very reasonable, staff were welcoming and attentive, We loved it here and will be returning.

My partner and I dined at this restaurant twice. The first time was great, the food was good, the service was good, everything was good, we enjoyed it so much we decided we would make it our local restaurant. The second time we dined it was OK until my partner and I got food poisoning from the seafood dish I had ordered. I had woke up in the middle of the night vomiting and I had to take 3 days off work which was very upsetting. My partner was also vomiting but still went to work as it didn't hit him as hard as it hit me. We both no that we got food poisoning from this place as that was the only food we both ate and it was around 8 hours when the food poising had kicked in. Since getting sick we will never ever dine there again, and even driving past this place makes my stomach turn. Till this day I will always wonder if they serve old food to customers just to save on costs!!!! I can promise my partner and I will never be back here again and I always tell people who think about dining here not to as mt experience was unpleasant.

I visit this lovely little restaurant often and the food is always good. I take all of my out of town visitors there and always get great feedback. You have to try the banana coconut cream desert!!

My wife and I have been coming to this Thai restaurant for nearly 3 years. In that time the food has always been great and we also have had friends come from out of town and we have brought them here and they also have said great things about the food served.<br/><br/>The duck dishes in particular are fantastic.<br/><br/>The owners are friendly and generally the service is very good, they can get busy (as the food is great) and the waiting times can be a bit longer if its busy, but in general no complaints.<br/><br/>Keep up the good work.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years and the previous owners served great food and the service was prompt and efficient. The new owners have been there are few years but every time it gets slightly busy the waiting time is too long and it becomes very frustrating. Last night the place was packed and there was only one waitress. The portions have started to get smaller and often, when you do receiver your dishes you sit waiting for one of them to arrive. The food is very good and if they can improve their service to cope with the busy times and increase the portions to include more meat, they will return to the great restaurant we previously loved.

The food was very average as expected, it is not really authentic Thai food as the restaurant advertised. It was a busy night the service was very slow we waited one and a half hour for our four meals, only one chef and one waitress working. We didn't bother ordering the desserts at the end and the toilet was smelly. We've been there twice and sorry we will not go back there again.

Having read the previous reviews we decided we had to give this a go. Very ho-hum I'm afraid, certainly did not live up to the expectations that we thought. The interior of the restaurant is a lot better than what it used to be so no problems there. We don't believe that the entrees were home made, the servings were very small and all deep fried, very tasteless, appaered to be the normal customised stuff you can buy in the supermarket. The sizzling duck was very nice, massamum curry had hardly any chicken in it and the Pad Thai very average. It was busy with only one waitress and she was rushed off her feet. The follow up service with additional rice took a while. We were seated under an air con unit which blasted out cold air every now and then.<br/>We have travelled to Thailand many times and love Thai food. We found the food at Tipparost very "westernised", lacking in the true thai flavours. Sorry but we shall not be back.

This was our first visit to Tipparost and by far the best Thai meal we've ever had. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the surroundings and decor was just perfect. The food was so fresh and out of this world. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

I ordered a simple green chicken curry to takeaway and it was absolutely lovely. It's a gorgeous location, tidy &amp; clean and will definitely eat in next time!

If you love Thai food, you will love this place ! Large menu, incredibly fresh food, amazingly tender chicken ! Makes a change from getting "gristle sweet and sour chicken" at the chinese takeaway thats for sure !<br/><br/>They use NO MSG here, I asked. Extremely friendly staff, all speak english well and know their menu very well. Went out of their way to help.<br/><br/>Fantastic Thai food ! YUM

The best Thai Food in South Auckland. Great location, easy for parking Great Pad Thai and Green Curry just the right temperature. The food came out very fast and was nice and hot. <br/>Friendly service and a great price. <br/><br/>We will be back!!

I have been going to Tipparost for years and completely agree with every good review. You guys couldn't have said it better. Everything from the service down to the authentic tastes leaves nothing to be desired. I've eaten at many Thai restaurants around NZ and Thailand itself but this place makes by far the best Thai vegetarian I have ever tasted. <br/><br/>And to the person who said 'English isn't the spoken tongue' you obviously didn't bother talking to them as I have great conversations with their staff when I go in. Don't let an accent throw you off they all speak English. <br/><br/>They also DO NOT use MSG. It's typical of Chinese restaurants but not really of Thai places. <br/><br/>I highly recommend!

As a busy working couple we eat out a lot. The things we look for in a great restaurant are high quality food, atmosphere, friendly hosts and a great overall eating experience. Thai Tipparost has it all. We used to travel into Auckland frequently for a wonderful eating experience but have found that we need look no further than this brilliant restaurant. We have been to a great many Thai restaurants in New Zealand and overseas, and this one rates up there with the best. Keep up the great work - many thanks for the fabulous experiences.

100% WOO HOO! This restaurant is a real little find. The food is exceptional, the staff remember you after your first visit, there's a lovely relaxed and authentically Thai vibe. It's GREAT. I got nervous after reading the review mentioning the MSG so spoke to the chef about my concerns. He said there's no MSG in ANY of the dishes, no MSG on the property. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a meal at Tipparost Thai - you'll be stoked you did!

The food tastes great BUT it is loaded with MSG. I have been several times and wondered why I could never sleep after eating at Tipparost, then I realised it might be the MSG which has affected me before, so I rang them and sure enough THEY USE MSG. Would never go back based on that alone!!!
