Review Thai Thani Restaurant - Papamoa

Being fairly new to the area, this was my second time dining at this restaurant. Last night was to celebrate my birthday with 2 family members. On both occasions I have been impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and comprehensive menu. Service also excellent. Last night the restaurant was buzzing with other diners which added to the atmosphere.

We had amazing food and great service at Thai Thani, Papamoa. The food was fresh and delicious! Staff were super helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant!! 🥰😁

Excellent food! Delicious and quite "Thai" 😋 The place is pretty cozy, and good for a dinner with family or friends. There was a drip from the AC duct onto one of the bench chairs, but I assume it would have been fixed now.

just had dinner here tonight and it was fantastic! service was friendly, young girl was training but doing a great job, very polite and warm. we got pad thai and "taste of thai thani" and both dishes were huge portions! the pad thai was excellent and the taste of thai was even better! both were large servings and had plenty of meat in them, with fresh veges and had been cooked to perfection. i even have enough left overs for lunch tomorrow. nice! both dishes were around $25 with beef, and for seafood option they would have been a few dollars more. I have lived in the area for 6 years and never tried this place, but decided to try it based on a friend's recommendation and I will definitely be coming back again soon to try the curries! I noticed they have lunch specials all for around $17 so will have to try that too.

Had a very enjoyable meal here, started with Roti and a generous amount of Satay sauce to go with it. Delicious large servings of our mains which was Chicken and cashew nuts. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

It was a good dinner. My partner crispy pork was a bit dry and they did another so great service. My curry was good. I enjoyed it. Food was 7/10, service was great. Parking good.

Amazing place. The Indian manager is the most professional manager I have ever seen. The place is extremely busy, and why not...the food is tasty. e ordered the sizzling Beef mandarin and Tom Yum soup.. Plus prawns Cheers

The kai was very good. We ordered massuman curry, green curry, and phad Thai (all chicken options) 😋. The only issue was that we went on Easter Sunday so it was busy and understaffed🥲

Delicious food everytime just noticed twice now that I seemed to get overcharged only by $1 or $2 and listed on receipt as miscellaneous? next time will let them know as I didn't realize until I got home

We got takeaways from here last week and had high expectations.  The tiny Tom Yum soups weren't the best (I didn't finish mine).  It was swimming with raw onions, raw mushrooms and raw quartered tomatoes.  It was also lacking in flavour.  <br/>The spring Rolls were alright, as was the chicken Pad Thai.  However, we felt the meal was very expensive for the portion sizes - it is not very good value for money.  We might try it again, maybe they were having a bad night.  Will keep you posted.

Had an absolutely terrible dining experience at Thai Thani Papamoa. After a long day at the cricket we decided to grab something for dinner and decided - Thai Thani it is! Shortly after being seated we were greeted by a waitress that took our order and I ordered an entree of the Chicken Satay Kebabs. <br/><br/>30 minutes after ordering I received my Chicken kebabs and picked a bit of the chicken off as they were only lukewarm. I took a bite of my kebab and found it very chewy and examined my kebab to find it completely translucent and raw. We quietly ushered over the waitress to let her know the chicken was raw and in a very blasé manner she took the kebabs from the table and came back to let us know the manager screamed at the staff in the kitchen and they would make up some more for us, to which we declined.<br/><br/>40 minutes later, with no mention from manager or staff we were still waiting for our main meal and simply couldn't wait any longer after being left with a sour taste in our mouth after the entree. Almost two hours later we walked inside and approached the counter to let them know that we would no longer be wanting our Main Courses and would like to leave. The manager quickly brushed off our reasoning for leaving and proceeded to charge us for our two $4 drinks.<br/><br/>Absolutely no genuine apology from staff and food poisoning made for a truly horrible visit to Thai Thani. Would NOT recommend to anyone!

Best thai in tauranga. Orders can be a bit slow, but pre ordering helps. The crispy pork belly and prawn toast is delicious! You can order online.

Always delicious every time we go. Friendly and attentive staff.<br/>Food is always served hot and fresh and never fails to satisfy us and leave happy customers. This time we had the NZ garlic lamb and pork belly with peanut sauce. Both tasty dishes

Todays meal was fantastic. Massamun curry and chicken cashew was excellent. Great flavour and perfect level of hotness. Ready and waiting when I got there. Thanks thai thani wil be back again for sure:)

We have been dining here every week (sometimes twice a week) for years and have never had a bad dining experience. We absolutely love it!...wont go anywhere else!. Food is always GREAT and the service is always fast and friendly. See you Wednesday!
