Got the lunch special. Was blown away with quality as well as quantity for the price. So many places charge more and provide less these days... but spice lounge have nailed it with the lunch special. Can't wait to try dinner menu.

You can’t beat a well made butter chicken. The chicken was nice and tender, the rice fluffy and fresh. Naan bread was spot on. All washed down with an imported Kingfisher Export.

Have been coming regularly to grab curries, have to say the quality has been very consistent and the prices are well placed. Will be happy to recommend spice lounge for Indian cuisine in the Kaipiti area.

Travelled from auckland and l was looking for a decent place to have lunch with the family. I walked in at the restaurant by looking at the ratings online and I would say i would say it was one of the authentic Indian food i had in recent years in New Zealand. Kadhai chicken and tandoori chicken was so close to what we get back home in India. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the authentic Indian food in kapiti region

Walked in at about 5:30pm on a Friday night and was lucky to get a seat! The whole restaurant was practically booked out- great for them! We had onion barji, a medium butter chicken and two garlic naan. The whole meal was delicious and service was fast and efficient. Unfortunately there was a hair in the meal, but didn’t take away from the quality.

Popped in but sadly then were quite busy. We were just about to go but they managed to arrange a table for all four of us. The staff are great and friendly and the food is nice but not as good as what I had recently in India. I had onion bajhi and butter chicken with garlic naan. The gravy in the butter chicken was a bit like tomato soup but it was still tasty. I would go back but I would try a different disk

Yummy food! Dined here with a few girlfriends and we all enjoyed it. Byo is great, good prices and the staff were lovely. Took a little while to place our order though but meant we had more time for wine and chats :)

The absolute best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted, the most amazing butter chicken! All of the staff are so kind and welcoming, I go there regularly.

Excellent Indian, best on the coast. We get takeaways here once a week and have tried most dishes on the menu. All time favorite would be the Chilli Chicken - spot on every time. The service is friendly and prompt. Have yet to be disappointed here.

The guys here are just top notch. Ate out my new girlfriend here awhile ago and we had a great time. Awesome food and a great atmosphere - go taz.

Best Indian in Paraparaumu by far. Nice flavours and generous portions. Kiwi hot is very hot though so lookout!!
Delivery option not too pricey either and always fast service.

Grabbed a takeaway from Spice Lounge last night and I must say it was great and very speedy - 15 minutes from time of ordering.

We got a wide range of food, Onion Salad, Rogan Gosh, Samosas, Garlic Naan and were also treated to free Papadums and Onion Bhaji which was unexpected. The star of the show was the Chilli Chicken, cooked perfected with a great chilli sauce - we requested indian hot and it did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

We have also dined in awhile back and the atmosphere and staff are great, very friendly and the food always comes out quickly. Best Indian on the coast by far.

I love a good curry, been here a couple of times before and the food was alright. Came back last night, the restaurant was busy and the ambience was great. I ordered a chicken bhuna and my hubby ordered a chicken madras, both medium in heat. The service was very efficient and pleasant. I went to the bathroom and on my return I was surprised to see warm plates placed down, within less than a minute of me sitting down the curries had arrived (not even 5 mins from ordering to serving). My first thought that came into my head was that they couldn't have been cooked fresh to order in such a short space of time, I thanked the waiter and looked down at the food, I called the waiter back and asked if our order had been mistaken as the madras was bright yellow and creamy, just like a korma? He kindly pointed out that there were mustard seeds visible therefore obviously a madras. I've never had a madras like this, normally rich, dark, full of flavor and finished with coconut cream, not cooked in cream! It was mild in heat and had no flavor. The waiter kindly gave us a small ramekin of korma sauce to prove that we didn't have a korma. The bhuna, which is traditionally full of onions and has depth of flavor was like pre cooked chicken had been plonked into a tin of tomatoes, it was watery, under seasoned and had no flavor at all. The chicken was bland and had definitely not been marinated. I felt disappointed and when the waiter cam back to clear, we told him; we had only eaten a few mouthfuls of each curry, so he could see that we were not impressed. He was apologetic. We went to pay our bill, we were expecting that management would have apologized again and offered a discount or another opportunity to dine again, but nothing! They just took our money and didn't say a word, they didn't even clear the remainder of our table. I won't be going back, I accept that chefs change and mistakes happen, but to not address the complaint made, in my opinion, was worse.

Easily the best indian restaurant i know of and i hunt down indian food. I've been going here weekly for almost a year, we travel 45mins each way to eat here and we have 2 indian restaurants within 5mins of my home. The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable about their food. Their food has unmatched consistency. Best naan I've even had and you must try their chilli chicken!!

This place is amazing. It's our Sunday favorite. The staff are lovely, the service is incredible and the food is definitely the reason we keep coming back. We tend to like a lot of food and we are always extremely satisfied even with the platter for two, we couldn't eat much more. Too top it off its a BYO and the extensive menu is very affordable. Thank You Spice Lounge.

An unexpected gem at Paraparaumu Beach. The staff are friendly, the service is excellent, the prices are good, but most important of all, the food is delicious. This has to be the best Indian Restaurant in the Wellington Region.
Tracey Barrow
Absolutely amazing food - highly recommend. Never been a fan of Indian food but was given some gift vouchers.
They delivered and on time and everything was just perfect - won't need vouchers next time will be going again definitely😄😄😄 rating 10/10

I highly recommend visiting the Spice Lounge. The food is superb and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We have held a couple of work functions here and cannot fault the way we have been looked after. Yog and his team are wonderful. Wonderful food and a lovely atmosphere, what more could you ask for.

We moved to Paraparaumu early last year and have been going to Spice Lounge regularly ever since. It would be the best Indian Restaurant we have been to and we have been to heaps, both here and in Australia. Great work Rob!!

best indian food i have ever tasted-service was quiet and unobtrusive with attention to customer needs-highly reccomended;;;)))))))))*******

I went to I went tonight to try the chicken tikka balti - as I'd not had this dish in many years, since leaving the UK..

The serve was exceptional - fast - and the taste was everything that I remembered from the UK. All the flavour was correct - and the texture was perfect! If there's one thing I loathe about most curries here in NZ, it's that they're 'too moist' - ok, they're soggy as hell! This balti most definitely wasn't soggy - and I shall be going back regularly to taste the rest of the menu - as it's the only place I know where you can get a proper curry - prepared and cooked the way a curry should be!

My father and I were contemplating on what Indian to get one day, and being a Sunday most were closed and Spice Lounge was the only one open. We ordered takeaway, although the beautiful black decor had wanting me I dined in. I ordered kiwi hot butter chicken. For the value of $10 I got a massive naan, rice, curry, wontons, and even a little pottle of diced cucumber and onion. May I say for the deliciousness of my butter chicken this was amazing value! My old regular Rangoli would only give us a naan half the size. I'm so pleased we found the little treasure of The Spice Lounge!

Im a regular here as I love the food, service and friendly staff. A good selection of beautifully prepared food, served fresh and piping hot while the place is nice and clean in appearance. A very nice experience.

Clearly there are goings on in paraparaumu's Indian food scene. Next to ravi's superette is a garden shed that is doubling as a take-away Indian and opposite that the new spice lounge. My mother badgered us to go because it's a new venture run by a "nice young man" who needs to be supported.

Ok so we went.

SL is next to a takeaway that specialises in roasts which perhaps says something about the kapiti demographic - I don't know, but it actually looked quite good, and remember some of the earliest takeaway shops did sell roasts. Anyway, Spice Lounge, is nice and it did have a nice young man front of house. Decor was more tasteful than most Indian restaurants - black - clean - modern.

Service was good, fast, efficient.

Food unfortunately was constrained by stomachs in their 8th decade and therefore more "what you know" than adventurous and spice levels at low volume. As a result we ended up with bhaji, naan, dhal makhani and a series of stainless steel bowls with meat and gravy - a symphony of dull brown. I was pleased to be able to order a goat curry but there was little point of difference between the dishes and those from other Indian restaurants. I'm sure in part it was the unadventurous ordering - I'll try again and give spice lounge the benefit of the doubt that perhaps there'll be some colour, interesting textures and rare exotic dishes with those unique to the grandmother and handed down through the generations. In the meantime my breath will not be held.

Overall pleasant Indian food in a modern clean environment.
Well have found another Indian gem and local too:) We dined here on Sunday night after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is very pleasant and comfortable especially the chairs. The food was delicious - you could taste all the different spices. My daughter and partner who were visiting from Perth were only wanting the butter chicken as the Indian food in Perth isn't up to NZ standards! My other companion and I wanted to try something different so we asked the advice of the owner Rob who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different dishes. You can see he has a passion for food and this certainly translates to the food. My friend and I are pleased to have such a nice restaurant on our doorstep and we intend to come back to try more of the menu:)

Great Indian restaurant, we were a couple but made very welcome by the very pleasant wait staff. Food was really delicious and lived up to the name of the restaurant with the smell and taste of the spices. Very affordable as well but would make a great place for a family gathering to celebrate a meal out together. We want to come back with rest of the family in the future.

This was our first visit to this Restaurant as we were visiting from Auckland. The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive and as he knew we were new to Indian food they made sure everything was how we wished it to be.
We had a wonderful evening dining here.

Gorgeous decor, friendly staff and delectable authentic Indian selections make
Spice Lounge a comfortable and delightful dining experience. Open 7 days for lunch and dinner as well as takeaways, Spice Lounge offers a set menu, but for those with special dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free and vegan, owner Preet will personally supervise the creation of separate individually prepared dishes. The dhal is delicious and goes very nicely with aloo parantha. A full drink menu is available including beers, wine and spirits as well as soft-drinks and fruit juices. You can bring Your own wine for a $5 charge. What's really nice about Spice Lounge is the layed back
and very relaxed atmosphere; Paraparaumu Beach is super chilled as it is, and when You step into Spice Lounge, Your entering a little cocoon of sub-continental coziness.
The food is excellent and overall, Spice Lounge is a really nice place to eat.
I'm a purist and the reason I gave Spice Lounge 4.5 instead of 5, is their use of canola instead of sunflower and or olive oils. I would also like to see them add
a coconut chutney, a mango chutney and also a nectarine chutney to the sides menu. Only an hour's drive from Wellington, why not visit Paraparaumu Beach for the day, perhaps see Kapiti Island and have a decadent lunch or dinner at Spice Lounge?

In the foodie world it is a must to visit. With its fresh new look and fresh new tastes, Kapiti's Spice Lounge cuisine is simply delicious. All the old favourites included with some exciting new tastes added. I tried Kadhai Chicken...Yum! We enjoyed this modern, well priced dining experience, and Rob gave us exceptional service. Highly recommended. Ann Fyfe.

Spur of the moment dinner stop BUT so glad we did! The service was perfect and the meals amazing. The kids menu catered for our 3 girls while we dined on the Non-Vegetarian Platter for 2. Food was delicious, decor impressive, very reasonably priced and service above and beyond their duties - especially Rob! Have no hesitation in totally recommending eating at Spice Lounge!
My husband Andy and I have lived in Kapiti for 5 years now and we have enjoyed many curries from many restaurants. We found Spice lounge some weeks ago. We love the food, the service, and the restaurant is great to eat in. Take away delivery is prompt and fresh. We love the Spice Lounge and it is our new and favourite place to go for a curry. One problem I have had in the past with curry is heat and Spice lounge has got it right every time. 5 star - highly recommended.

I have lived in Kapiti for 5 years and in that time I have
tried all the local curry restaurants. I don’t need to look any further because
it doesn’t get better than Spice Lounge. We have dined in, and had takeaways
delivered. The service, ambiance, decor and management are all first class. The
food? Fresh, generous, tasty, heaps of flavour – nice heat if you want it,
still lovely if you don’t do hot stuff. Rob makes you feel special, and the
entire package will make you want to go back again and again!

Really great service and delicious food too! I was recommended to try the spice lounge and now it's my new favourite place. I've dined in twice and also had takeaways- I highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious fresh food, the spices are flavoursome with a manageable kick, the kids also loved it! Really lovely staff, excellent service, and very generously priced, you can't ask for better. Looking forward to our next visit and trying more of the huge variety available. The hardest part is choosing which dish!

I was there couple of days back in kapiti beach and thought I’d check the reviews here before dining. After seeing all 5 stars I thought I’d go in and check out the dinners there to see if it really was as good as it sounds.

It’s better than that. Possibly the best service I’ve had in Wellington along with the best Indian I’ve had in New Zealand.

Great meals, great service, great staff and a great price. Recommendations for starters and mains from the staff were spot on. Will be going there again in the future no doubt.

Wow! The decor, the service and the ambiance! Rarely do you find the combination blending so well! It's been probably a week and the authentic taste of food can hardly keep my feet away from heading every evening to the restaurant! I seem to be simply not able to resist trying out different items of the menu - The famous butter chicken, the chcken tikka masala, the goat curry ! I wonder who the chef is, truly amazing guy - magical hands, simply awesome and truly different taste! I have already been there four times in this week! You got to be there to believe it! Not many Indian restaurants can boast of such a taste! Full marks - 10/10!
