I am totally blown away with this Takeaway... they have the best wedges and great portions for your money. The fish is delicious and so is the batter...crispy and not caked on like a lot of places here in kapiti. This is our new favourite Fish & Chip shop for sure. Pays to try new places.

A very good brunch, well priced, good size meal.

Had snapper and chips with a salad. The fushcwas do fresh it melted in my mouth, chips were good and salad very fresh and tasty. Big meal all for $9.90. No complaints highly recommended

Authentic fushandchups. Would be 5 stars except they don’t take credit card, has no toilet, or water, but the battered fish and squid is excellent.

The food in my opinion is consistently good. Never been disappointed. Fresh fish, crispy thin batter. The fish meal is presented well, a little step up from the norm.

Amazing fresh cod fillers perfectly battered and cooked just right. Chips were the best we have eaten for a long time. We love their food so much that we are happy to travel some distance to get fish n chips.

Did prepared quickly. A wee bit greasy but delicious. Good sized portion of fish and meat pattie. The service in the restaurant was friendly and quick. Great smile under the mask.

We came from Upper Hutt for a day in Kapiti, was recommended this place yet when our food came the order was wrong. They argued that they read order back but didn’t. This was a child’s meal that they were not going to replace. They asked us to pay for the replacement meal even after giving back the incorrect meal - we refused! They did eventually bring the meal out, but we would not recommend and will not come back as we had to argue to get our child fed. Is the customer not always right?

My son had an ice cream that was full of longish (about 3cm) hairs/white manmade fibres. It was inedible as every mouthful had these long strands in. I had to pull several out of his mouth. We took it back and showed them and asked for a different flavour, but despite being very polite, they refused point blank to refund us or give us another ice cream. We had just spent $66.50 on food in there - what way is that to treat customers? And goodness knows what the hairs were.

have dealt with Fedup for over 10 years. Sent a lot of our Motel Guests to them and in over 10 years never had a complaint.. We still go up and have a meal every so often.. still recommend to friends and others.

Great service and the meals are fantastic value for money.

My friends and I went thursday and Sunday nighst so Devine Devine and Devine and for us it was such a nice atmosphere on both nights that it was a superb way to end the week.<br/>

Our go to fish and chip place for takeaways. Had a great sit down meal of enormous juicy scallops there to. Fast service and quality always reliable.

Would give this rating a 5 however, just came from here and although the food is really delicious. I added up how much our meal would have cost and ended up paying more than I calculated please change prices if they have gone up :). Otherwise beautiful food and awesome service

Whenever we crave for fish n chips this is where we go. Affordable meals and nice people. The fish was always fresh. We ordered the group meal, good for 4 people at very reasonable price.

Just had Grouper meal and loved every morsel..lovely service lovely aptmosphere ..i told them 10.0 as i left..Yes we going to be regular customers even more so Total transformation in everything of which is an awsome dining experience

I have witnessed how disrespectful the lady is that works at this place, presumably the owner, and how ill-mannered she is. Reading each negative comment is an embarassment to your business and you should be ashamed. I am utterly disgusted by my experience here and do not recommend this eatery to anyone! You demonstrate even greater repugnant behaviour with your IGNORANT responses/excuses to the negative reviews. You are only fooling yourselves with your nonchalant-yet-malicious retaliation to every single person that you have treated unfairly.<br/>

The reason why I am writing this review is to express how disgusted I am with how I was treated with my complaint. I ordered one battered fish, one hotdog, wedges and an apple juice. Waited patiently for my order for about 20 minutes (they were busy esp because nearby fish n chip shops were closed for the for xmas break - I usually go to Maclean's fish supply or sunlong). The lady at the til gave me the food bt there was no battered fish but a fish burger in a bag. I went back to counter and told her nicely that they got my order wrong. She then gave me back $1.50. My understanding was she gave me the fish burger to keep and that she will get a battered fish prepared. I waited for another 6-7minutes and nothing came to me. I went back to the counter and asked how long it was gonna take and to her understanding she gave my back my $1.50 to take the fish burger and jst get rid of the buns (WOW!!) I was getting annoyed at this time but never did I disrespect her. She made me wait and comes back with the fish in a brown paper bag and I left. I was half way to the beach and realised that the fish she gave me was the same crumbed fish (not battered as I asked) she took out of the burger, as it still had mayo or some sort of sauce on it with bits of lettuce n carrot attached. I called them strait away and tried to talk to the same lady and she hung up on me. Then I called back again and she just said "we ddnt do anything wrong bye!" The customer service here is appalling. They do not respect or value their customers when things don't go their way. They clearly need some training on how to deal with customer complaints and how to respect people in general. I have been here before and I don't rate their food as I like eating from nearby shops but left with no choice today. I will never come back to this establishment nor recommend it to anyone. Absolutely ZERO STARS. Oh lastly by reading the passed complaints on zomato this eatery takes very little responsibility for their mistakes. Very defensive and full of excuses.

Food was very tasty and a good price. However I couldn't have what I originally ordered because they had run out of cream (even though there is a dairy right next door where they could have easily gotten cream) and my husband had to walk two blocks away just to use the toilet!

I am writing this review as I was appalled at the customer service I got tonight at this eatery. I have been a customer for many years because the food is good. However this is not the first time I have come across rudeness here. There has been an ongoing problem with ordering in the past with being given a crumbed fish meal instead of battered. Once my meal was replaced very reluctantly by the proprietor - she slammed my replacement meal on the table muttering that I hadn't asked for battered. Since then I have been very specific each time when I order including tonight. A crumbed meal was brought out and when challenged they said I hadn't said I wanted it battered. I was told the proprietor had a very good memory and I definitely didn't say battered. I said are you accusing me of being a liar then? The man walked away as my companion said well obviously in this establishment the customer is not right here! After the meal which I obviously did not enjoy partly because of the wrong order and for the rudeness i had just experienced, I again approached them and said I was not happy about my experience and lack of respect for the customer. My companion and I said we would not be returning and the man behind the counter said if we didn't come back it was up to us. My companion questioned him as to whether he cared if we didn't come back and he emphatically said he did not care if we never came back! Apart from these instances I was also in this establishment about 3 weeks ago with my son to give him a treat meal. The proprietors were having a blazing argument in full view of the customers over an apparent wrong order! This argument was very loud and lasted over 5 minutes. I should have known then never to go back there! This establishment obviously does not care about retaining loyal repeat customers. This has left a bitter taste in my mouth and although the food is good I will not be returning. <br/>

Fantastic beach feed. Would recommend. <br/>Tasty fish. Good burger. Battered Sav was OK. Chips were great. I've posted a photo of the menu so that takeaway orders can be placed more easily. Enjoy!

Thought I will reword this, my aunt took myself and a friend for a meal. For a treat..now my aunt is difficult in speech but she is a regular customer orders the same thing each time...the person at the counter got annoyed at my aunty and my friend..of which my aunty got flustered..and just paid and sat at table..we were waiting for another friend who was running late so my friend asked if the plate could be put in a warmer ..another lady came out and was abrupt with our table..so we ate some of our meal and left. Normally we would have complained to the management but felt it would've made our evening worse and because of this none of us will go there anymore :(

Beautiful fresh crumbed blue cod we haven't had fish like that in years, fast and polite service and not to mention the prices are very reasonable, also the kebabs were lovely and fresh and the shop was clean and well presented .... well done, we will be back for sure

We were impressed with both the quick service and the excellent food. They even grilled some fish to meet my need for gluten free food. My visitors from London had been trying fish n chips all over the North Island, they were stoked with this meal which was their last before returning to London. <br/>Service was efficient and polite - no probs at all. Will certainly return

Staff are efficient and polite. Chips were well cooked, burger was perfect (Kapiti cheese yay :)) better than average hot dog and the lamb kebab was the nicest I've had since returning to NZ. Will definitely be going back.

Went to this fish and chip shop as was recommended by a guy who catches the same bus as me... was getting ticked off with Kena Kena F &amp; C place.<br/><br/>They have been pretty good up until about August 2012. Seems to be new ownership and well, quality is down, service is RuDe! and prices UP! Dramatically.<br/><br/>Several times I have asked for NO SALT and have arrived home to find it salted. WTF??? Can they not READ what is on the order from the person writing it at the till?<br/><br/>I would say that they are trying to cut down their electricity bill as the product is greasy throughout now (Jan 2014), and potato fritters are exactly the number ordered, no matter what size. And what is it that they cannot make potato fritters all the same size? Haven't they heard of cutters to do that? And that goes for ALL the F &amp; C shops, not just Fed Up.<br/><br/>Looking for a new source now... shame as it is nice and close too.

I have been a regular customer for over 10 years and not once have I encountered a time when the staff were rude. On the contrary almost all the staff in this time have been very pleasant, attentive and helpful. There was a young European girl a few years ago who despite trying her hardest wasn't really cut out for this work but management obviously decided to give her a fair go. The food is generally of excellent standard and value though occasionally someone gets carried away with the salt shaker. In all this time I have only had 2 meals that were not up to standard......1. I was sick after eating some shellfish that may have been a little suspect and 2. Chips were obviously from a different supplier and of considerable lesser standard for about a week. I would say this is an outstanding record for this business. Well Done Fed up Fast Foods. Certainly puts Maclean Street Fish Supply to shame.

We used to live just around the corner from this place and we really LOVED the food there. We would buy from Fed Up once a week.<br/><br/>The fish was always moist and tasty and the chips were the best in Paraparaumu. The staff got to know us as regulars and were always very friendly with us. <br/><br/>The food is always fresh and of great quality, and although the eating area is small, it is always clean and tidy. I'd love stopping in and having a feed of hot Fish and Chips on a cold rainy windy Sunday lunch.<br/><br/>I agree that they can be a little abrupt at times but it is always extremely busy there in the evenings and I know with absolute certainty that I would not cope with the pressure of working at such a busy place. It was something that never bothered me.<br/><br/>Since moving to Titahi Bay, I miss this place and just can't find anywhere that lives up to the same standards.

Just saw this site and wanted to comment about Fed Up. I'm a local who has been eating there for many years and can say that this place provides great food at a great price BUT their service, including the manners of their staff, who are mostly working in their second language, is at best abrupt. I can see several comments, on this site, about them being rude and let's be fair, go in there and watch the fun. There is never more than an hour go by before somebody is rudely insulted because they ask for something such as tap water. It's clear they don't want to provide tap water for free and it's clear if you insist they will escort you off the premises, so just take heed buy what you want from elsewhere if you don't like it. MClean Street Chip Shop is just around the corner but their quality isn't as good as I am told that the owner keeps his fish in his garage for several days before transfering it to the shop.

Great food but it's such a shame the service lets this place down. Every few years I decide to give them another try and every time without fail I witness the lady argue with customers. Really puts me off.

I am a regular at fed ups an it really couldn't be a better place. I would recommend the chicken tenderloin meal, such great value and delicious chicken! To people complaining about phone orders just be grateful your jumping the que on the phone because this place is very popular but well worth the wait for the food! I know multiple people that travel from Wellington just to get their food! Well done fed ups one high quality fish and chip shop!

My wife and I have been going to Fed Up for at least 6 years. The meals are always consistent and of the highest quality. The fish is always fresh. The owner and and her staff are a friendly lot. I have witnessed two of the instances in other negative reviews and admire the staff for dealing with them as they did. <br/>A great place for take a ways or eat in.

i took my family here to a rude reception knives and forks had to be requested then the wrong amount came and we had to ask for more the food was good but when we requested water for a person with something stuck in their throat we were denied a glass as there is a problem they say with kapiti water giving people sore tummies.we queried this only to have a verbal attack from the owner. <br/>i rang the enviromental health inspector the following day for confirmation of the bad water but was told there is no problem only with that particular restaurant not wanting to supply free water. of course water was available to be bought.<br/>we may have bought some but because of the extreme attitude from the owner we were not given the opportunity to ask for some . what ashame as the meal was nice.

I did a telephone order at 5.20pm and wanted to know how much the order was, i was spoken to really rudely and the guy said i don't know how much it is and i will see you in 20mins at 5.40pm, end of phone call. Some people have limited money and need to budget their meals but fed up not a good place to go if you want to do that. I turned up at 5.40pm and they said to me that they were too busy to give totals over the phone. There were maybe 3 people in the shop at the time. They hadn't even started cooking my meal, it was 5.55pm by the time i had left the shop. not impressed and the service at fed up has only got worse. Would definitely not go back to this horrible fish and chip shop again or recommend it to anyone!!!

A great spot for take-away fish and chips..the best in town. Great wedges too and prompt and efficient service. Always v good. Handy location with good parking opposite and great tables to eat on with best sea views in town.

We tried the Bluff oyster and salad meal which cost around $21.00. We then asked for a glass of water, as we don't drink soda and didn't feel like drinking coffee. They rudely answered they didn't serve free water and instead pointed to the big bottle of drinking water which cost around $5.00. Why couldn't they give us just a glass of water? First time I've experienced this in any New Zealand restaurant.

The fish was excellent and the salad was fresh. Very good value for quality fish.<br/><br/>However, we did receive one of the meals on a cracked plate and one coffee was served in a cracked cup. When we asked for a cup without a crack the coffee was poured into another cup reluctantly and rudely returned. Needs to work on customer service to get it to the standard of the food.

Recommended to me by two independant people my wife and I tried this eatery out.We were told that they were the best combo of value and quality on the coast and to try their Fillet Fish meal special.<br/>This turned out to be two good sized crumbed or battered pieces of either Blue Cod or Groper (our choice) served with chips and salad for only $8.50 each.In spite of heavy patronage from customers in for a sit down meal or takeaways our orders were taken and delivered promptly.<br/>Fish was fresh and cooked nicely,the ample serving of chips just done right crisp on outside and soft inside.A very nice salad included a wedge of lemon for the fish,a couple of slices of orange and all with tartare sauce.Other meals were also available and I was tempted to go for the Nelson Scollops and will do so next visit.This cafe is very popular and it was most obvious why.Great food,great value.Meals including nice burgers are also available
