Attentive service. Had Masala Chicken, not on menu, but done as a special - was outstanding. Desert, trio of sorbet was delightful. Certainly will go back.

Nice quaint restaurant in a good location. Staff were in general helpful and friendly. There were some planning issues with seating and menus for our group who booked in advance. The food was pretty good. Presented very well, and tasted nice.

Our first time at Sopranos, we had seen good reviews and heard good things about them from others .... we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, the young waitress was friendly, attentive, efficient and knew what she was doing. The food, well let's say it was simply divine. Wait times were about right, the portion sizes right not too big or small. The flavours, spot on. Every flavour came through as it should with nothing over powering others. The price was reasonable for the quality and service. We left very satisfied with our dining experience. Thank you Sopranos 😊

Food was fantastic, best meal I have had in NZ. Lamb was cooked to perfection, paired with roasted root vegetables that had a wonderful, natural glaze. Roasted potatoes lightly browned, creamy on the inside. The pork belly was also very nicely done, the mash hearty and flavorful. Cabbage provided a nice counter-point. Highly recommended.

This Paraparaumu Beach restaurant is a pleasure to eat at. As a coeliac I was delighted to notice that most of the choices on the dessert menu were gluten free. The mains also have a nice selection of both gf and gf options.

Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere. Exceptional menu and seating. Staff were well-mannered and prompt, and didn't leave us feeling like our table didn't matter. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great italian not too far from the beach.

Our group of seven ate at Sopranos on Saturday 19th August. We had a range of starters and mains. All of the dishes were beautifully cooked and of an appropriate size and tasted great. The owners young family were waitressing and did a very good job with the service and their attention to our table. Sopranos has BYO wine and is licensed. To have that flexibility is fantastic and with just a $5 charge per person for BYO that really does help with the cost. Give them a go and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Had an open mind when booking but boy-o-boy, that dinner tonight was simply delightful and outstanding cuisine (never said that before in a review). I had the squid entree which was fresh and tasty, better than most I’ve had but the duck was to die for. Everyone else at our table were effusive in praise of their dish too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

They served the tastiest food that we’ve had in Kapiti Coast. This place is a gem and we regret that we just visited recently to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The wait staffs are very polite and friendly. Highly recommended to everyone who would pay the price worth their meal.

Many thanks to the team at Sopranos Ristorante at Paraparaumu Beach for an amazing night on Saturday. There was a party of 10 of us and we were seated in the private room which gave us plenty of space to move about. We ordered from the set menu of $65 which gave us canapes, antipasti, 4 choices of main and 2 dessert options with a cheese option. The canapes were a selection of delicious bites such as fried calamari, prawns, salmon mousse and arancini balls.<br/>The next course was a selection of breads, meats, pickles and cheese. For the main course 3 of us had the Bistecca - a 200g Prime Steer Rib eye with veg which was cooked to perfection, 3 people had the Gnocchi Graten - a potato and spinach gnocchi with a tomato and basil sauce which was a generous amount served piping hot, 3 people had the Fettucine Soprano - fettucine with a blue cheese sauce and tender pieces of chicken, and 1 person had the Porchetta - a rolled and roasted pork belly served with mashed potatoes and braised cabbage. Dessert of Tiramisu Classico or a rum infused Panna Cotta was ordered by all but one who had the Kapiti Brie cheese board. We all had an enjoyable evening and were served by the lovely Aimee who was attentive and helpful. Sopranos in Kapiti is not a place to be missed.

110% Recommend this restaurant! The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Always meant to go but never did until now - I’ve been missing out!

Wow! Amazing authentic seasonal menu. Generous portions and excellent seasonal flavours. The front of house could bear being slightly less sullen, otherwise fantastic food at NZ reasonable prices.

Went on a Tuesday night, family of 4, for a birthday dinner. Staff were great and really friendly. Food was top notch, really tasty and filling. From the time we ordered to the time we got or meals was approx 20 minutes. I had the best dessert I've had in a long time. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Best dinner restaurant on the coast by far. The restaurant has a lovely warm feel, staff always attentive and friendly and we have never had a bad meal in all our years going here.<br/>B.Y.O is a major bonus! Highly recommend.

Delicious, wonderful service and prompt with food to the table. Had a set menu and the highlights were definitely the salsa Verde and dark chocolate tart - cannot wait to go back

Dined here last night with a couple of friends. It was fully packed on arrival. The place is quite small and the tables are very squashed together making it a bit of a maze to get to the bathroom. If your claustrophobic it may be a place to miss. The menus probably need a bit more flare they are just printed out on a flimsy bit of paper. <br/>Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. <br/>The food was delicious. I had the calamari for a starter, duck salad for main and the dark chocolate tart for dessert. All looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. 2 other diners had pasta dishes and loved them but said the were quite rich to eat. Will definitely be back to try other dishes soon.

Fabulous quality Italian ristorante. Innovative twists on classics. This is my place to go for a treat. Huge portions - I've never finished a main course there. Hubble always has to help me out. Impeccable service. Owner Annmarie trains up fabulous young staff. Head Chef Joshua Knox is an awesome cook and runs a tight kitchen but all the staff always seem very happy. Recommended.

A quaint little restaurant on the kapiti coast. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Food took quite a while to come out but I'll assume it's cos it was a full night. I had the duck breast salad. So delicious...definitely worth the wait. Wish I had more time to try the dessert. I've heard good things about their desserts so I'll definitely be back to try some 😃😃

The service was fantastic, food was great but the portions were a bit small, just <br/>enough for the girls but the boys may have to order an extra.

A bit disappointed with this place. we were looking forward for a nice romantic Italian dinner for 2, instead we just got the romance (thanks to my husband) but for the Italian experience ...well...<br/>Lest start for "The menu", a simple white printed page (poor looking) and it was rather simple and didn't offer anything I can't make at home in 5 minutes, a part of course for the duck and Pork. The wine menu was a joke. You will think that for $32 a main you will get something tasty, but if you have to add salt, pepper and ask for parmesan cheese so you can fix your pasta, that will say it all. The cutlery is cheap and not table cloth on the tables? Again for $30+ a main you will definitely expect more than just warehouse wine glasses / cutlery. <br/>The service was average; our waitress came every 5 minutes asking us if we were ready when we just had ordered drinks, until I had to tell her I will call her once ready to order. My husband had the pork belly and that was absolutely beautiful and worth the $32.<br/>P.s: if thinking of having pasta bring your own spoon or you may get the evil look for asking for one!.

Been here twice, and this is definitely one of Kapiti's top restaurants. Great food and great service both times. Will be back!<br/><br/>The range of food was excellent, and the specials at each visit were quite different, and enticing. We decided to have entrees, mains, sides and dessert which leaves one feeling very full. The dessert is probably optional, but hard to resist. A range of Italian pasta dishes, although I tried the duck and the steak on each of my visits, and was not disappointed. Combined them with a seafood entree - calamari on the first visit and a blackboard prawn special on my second and both were fantastic.<br/><br/>Tried to go on a Saturday night without booking a month or so ago, and not surprisingly it was booked out - so make a reservation.

Beautiful food and awesome service. We booked for a special occasion and were warmly welcomed and most impressed with our meals. The desserts were delicious and I love the fact that the restaurant is BYO. Soprano Ristorante has a lovely, romantic ambience. Can't wait to go back!

So I took my Mother here for Mother's Day. It was on recommendation from a friend who has eaten here several times. Arriving at about 6.15, we were greeted with a smile, and shown to our seats. Water was delivered to the table, drink orders taken. The young waitress knew the specials for the evening, and gave us ample time to peruse the menu. My Mother ordered the seared scallops, and I had the twice baked crab souffle. Both were divine to eat. For the mains we had the roasted pork belly and the pan roasted duck breast. No words for how good these mains were. We finished off with panna cotta. Totally thrilled with this restaurant, and am looking forward to the opportunity to eat there again.

Oh, mama mia, what is there not to like about this place, apart from the hard chairs.<br/><br/>Fabulous food, wonderful ambience, oh my goodness.<br/><br/>Went last January for my 29th wedding anniversary after having been there the January before for the 28th anniversary. Unfortunately, she who must be obeyed, doesn't want to go there "again."<br/><br/>Oh mama, I wanta to crya my heart out... ; )<br/><br/>And, if my daughter likes it, well it can't be half bad... : P

The first time we went to this restaurant the food was great once we finally got it, waited patiently for our main only to be asked if we were ready for desert.......we asked if we could have our main first only to find out they thought they had already served it. Due to the great food we tried to book a table for tonight at 3.30, left a message and we are still waiting to hear from them now at 8pm. I guess they forgot to ring just like they forgot our main meal. 5 stars for the food 2 for the service............well we went back again and total redemption, service was great and as expected the food was fantastic

Good friend, Excellent service, Great atmosphere.<br/><br/>Went to Soprano's for a dinner date, Had the fettuccine carbonara and lasagna for mains and Tiramisu for desert.<br/><br/>The food was cooked perfectly with a great balance of flavors. looked amazing smelt amazing and tasted just as good.<br/><br/>The wait staff where very helpful and polite, very apparent however not to in your face the place had a great homely feeling which made you feel more like family visiting a grand parent for supper. I loved the atmosphere and the food and can honestly say one of the best places i have come across in New Zealand.

Soprano's you have done it again! We visited Soprano's earlier this week as a party of seven. Excellent food, service and ambience and the best gob smacking delicious desserts. Then to top it all off a lovely shot of their own Limonchello.<br/>We fully recommend this little gem and can't wait to return.

My husband and I have been going to Sopranos since 2008 and have always had wonderful service and absolutely amazing food. We love the personable feel and how welcome Annemarie and the staff make you feel when you walk in. We have taken our friends visiting from the UK and Australia and they have all commented on what an amazingly friendly and cozy place. The limoncello is to die for and so is the scallops and black pudding! We will keep on celebrating our various occassions at Sopranos so great to have a restaurant like this in Kapiti.<br/>Bridgitte &amp; Ian

Wow. This place is so consistently good. We visited again last night. The food was superb and the service excellent. Even though busy we were made to feel welcome. A bit pricy and portions could be slightly bigger. But easiest the best restaurant on the Coast.<br/><br/>Our experience in March matched our expectations. Service and food were excellent. I am not a pasta fan but moved out of my comfort zone to try the chicken and cheese dish - delicious.

I first phoned the restaurant to ask about access as I had to use crutches and needed a chair with arms. The staff member was exremely helpful informing me that they didn't but could get me a comfortable chair with arms and would place us on the upper level with the accessible facilities. (there is not alot of restaurants in Kapiti that have chairs with arms !.) when we arrived they had everything set out and the food and service was excellent would defiantly recommend this restaurant

I adore the food here, the portions are very large and the food is divine.<br/>My biggest problem is trying to decide between the many dishes.<br/><br/>I had the olives for an entree and they were the best I have ever tasted.<br/><br/>They are very busy so I would recommend booking in advance and the restaurant is quite small.<br/><br/>Anne-Marie is lovely and always makes you feel special and welcome here.<br/><br/>I am looking forward to going back again

I went to Sopranos earlier this year, they have new chefs. The portions were huge and the chef went the extra mile to accomodate my dietary needs, and even delivered my meal to the table himself. Very nice... will definitely go there again.

We had a farewell dinner for an overseas guest and were given the private area off the restaurant. The food and service were excellent. Would highly recommend it. We will definitely go back.
