First time there. Food was yum. Menu had photos of every meal and didn't disappoint. NZ hot is very hot!! Affordable and nice atmosphere.

Very nice food, the staff are very good. Great for a small group to dine have a few drinks and feel like it was a great night.

Best thai on the coast. Where from Wellington and now live on the coast. By far the best thai up here. Service is awesome, ladies are lovely. Food so tasty and a nice chilled atmosphere. Our favourite place to dine out 👍

Every time I've been there for either dine in or takeaway the food has been delicious! So fresh and full of flavour. If dining in, the meals are presented well. Dine in or takeaway, the portions are good value for money. You can have your meal as mild or spicy as you like. I have found the staff to be very welcoming each time I have been.

Gave this one a second try because many of my friends on the coast are big fans of the restaurant. For Saturday nights ordering with at least 30 minutes advance is a must. The place is popular because the food is great. Bear in mind that if you order on the spot at the counter you are likely to have a long wait. On my first time going I was told 15 minutes delay at the moment of placing my order which I found reasonable for a busy night. That ended up being 1 hr 15 min which I timed well because I was anxiously checking my phone. Probably would've been better to at least have someone telling me after 40 minutes wait that my order was in progress. Star rating relates to food, which has fantastic portions and is great value for money. I would reccommend to have an option to order and pay online to be available, especially on busy nights.

Regular here since 2018. King prawn Thai basil fried rice, mild - every single time. It's a winner.

Ordered a takeaway this evening, seafood sauna medium spice. I have never tried this dish before. .. Well it wasn't what I was expecting, it was better! Absolutely delicious and will definitely have it again. Fish was so fresh and juicy and the spice factor was 100% on point... Thanks team 🙏👌👍🍛

We’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff are always there to greet and fast service. The food is delicious and well priced. This is our favourite place to go for Thai!

I came across this restaurant by accident when leaving Wellington. When I eat Thai, I search for a very authentic dish which is normally only found in high end and pricey restaurants in the main centres such as Auckland. As is so often the case, this dish was not available on the menu here but the waiter said she would be able to prepare it for me (without telling me how much it would cost) and spoke very passionately about Thai cuisine when she asked how I knew about the dish. The food was as good as I have had it elsewhere and I was amazed when she only charged $17 as I usually pay around $35-40 when I am able to find it.

We eat at Thai Country House just about every week. The service is always friendly and the food is really great, especially the scallops and roti. We recommend the restaurant for anyone who wants tasty Thai food at a reasonable price.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend. I don't know why as the service is terrible! The waitress was not at all friendly and after finishing our mains our plates were cleared away, the waitress then disappeared into the kitchen for twenty minutes. When she finally came back out into the restaurant we asked for dessert menus, we were told the kitchen might be closed, she had to go and check with the cook. Eventually we were told that yes we could still order dessert, but by that time I was fed up and just wanted to leave. The food was ok, but due to the rude waitress I will never go back.

We have been to the Thai Country House many times and have no complaints whatsoever about the food,service or cost-all was great and would happily go again(really soon!!!)-we eat out a lot and disagree with previous comments about the other Thai restaurants being better-this for us is by fr the best and we have introduced other friends to the Thai Country House and they have a very loyal following.

We made our booking for Sunday 8:30pm, as we were going to movies.. whilst in the movie we had 5 missed calls. When I spoke with them, they said they had no bookings but ours, and actually said .."we were hoping you were not going to come"... I said we are on our way be there in five... the soup was lovely but the angel wings were very fatty and greasy... But the icing on the cake was after we paid, we put took two steps away and they turned all the lights out on us .. Very Very rude and we certainly will not be going back... Thai Lagoon is way better....

The restaurant looked very homely and inviting and the staff were very friendly.<br/><br/>However we were disappointed when we received our food, it was very pricey for what it was and it had very little taste.<br/><br/>The chicken and meat used seemed to be of a low quality and the food was very greasy.<br/><br/>Unfortunately we will not be going back again

we ordered takeaway, the guy on the phone wasn't very helpful and ended up putting the lady owner on who was very lovely and helpful. quite pricey when i picked it up, when we got home to eat it we were very disappointed, the food did not look appealing, the order wasn't quite right and the prawns and fish cakes were highly processed the green curry very bland, it wasn't very authentic it was worse then home made tasting, i make better myself and wish i hadn't been so lazy and should have made it myself...

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times now. It's awesome. The owner is one lovely lady and the service is good. It may not be the swankiest place in town but the polite mannners and food make it a place to visit for those seeking good Thai food.

Eat in or Take Out the food is great. <br/><br/>Overall Cost/Quality/Size it may be on the high side in the priced stakes, it's dragged up by charging for rice as an extra.

We have been here both for eat in and takeaway. The staff have always been very friendly and assisted with recommendations. The food while not exceptional is very nice. It can be quite spicy so it may be a good idea to check with the staff if what you are ordering is spicy if you are not sure.
