Review Cafe Novella - Paraparaumu

Firm favourite. Owners Paul and Kim always welcoming and fun, making this unassuming cafe a keystone community hub. Great coffee too

Tuesday's at Novella are cinnamon scrolls day. These are probably the best cinnamon scrolls. In. The. World. We arrive early to get ours while they're still warm. The coffee and service are excellent too.

Stumbled across this cafe by chance after we followed a roadworks detour. A great atmosphere, staff were all very lovely. Food was great, loved the rosti's.

I love this place! Best bacon and egg sandwich I have had. Don’t get me started on the pinwheels, they are delicious and come in a variety of flavours. If you are in Kapiti or just traveling through this is a must!

Delicious toasted sandwich and great coffee. Staff are lovely too. And not super noisy which makes it really relaxing as a place to meet a friend for a chat

As I only had the sweet chilly pinwheel can't comment on other foods but if it's like the pinwheel absolutely delishes. Inside and outside seating and dogs allowed on the outside areas

Sep2021: 8am catchup. Coffee was good. L2 here with mandatory mask wearing into premises(read it as you want for cafes) required from all patrons.. Unless exempt.. While enjoying my coffee time here, I was annoyed to see 4 times 4 customers walk in without a mask, 2 holding masks in hand, order coffee, and talk to staff while waiting. How unfair for the staff.. Conflicts arise here, they want to keep the clients who did not show excemption cards as customers.. But, what about the rest of us, and there were afew..watching this.(Probably 6 elderly patrons wore masks) June2021: early morning catchup with a friend and a really GOOD coffee.

Big breakfast and fish pie were both excellent. However it would have been nice to be offered some cream or yoghurt with the slice we had afterwards. It was a bit dry without.

I'm from out of town living in New Plymouth, on holiday we decided to go there for breakfast. Such a lovely place, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was brilliant i would definitely go there again Thanks.

Extremely clean back of house and kitchen, well done. The owners and staff are very attentive and down to earth. Recommended!!

Great food and hot 'hot drinks' (which is not always the case in some cafes). Friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend.

What a cute little cafe, very reasonable food, half size servings, which was wonderful. Very hot coffee and friendly service. Only drawback was my scrambled eggs were cooked at too high a heat so made my toast slightly soggy. Not a biggie!

Service was excellent very friendly and generous. Coffee pretty good not the best i have had,. The selection of sweet treats very very tempting. Some GF which is good. Their Tuna/cucumber sammies very good value.

My local cafe.  Love their rissotto cake and although I always get sleepy afterwards (gluten and me are not friends), I am a little addicted to their egg and ham/tuna cucumber club sandwiches.  Staff are always friendly and welcoming.  Never had any bad food here in hundreds of visits.

We are a group of six cousins – all seniors – who regularly meet here for lunch.  Always a fun outing: staff are great and whatever food we try we enjoy.  Prices are displayed and are perfectly reasonable.<br/><br/>Jenny C

What I love about Novella is that we ALWAYS get a really good coffee, unlike other places that can be hit and miss. Lovely scones and muffins too. Cabinet food always looks inviting and staff always friendly.

Overpriced, unfriendly (poker face staff) boring food. How do you know whether you are being overcharged if prices are not displayed? - a common fault in this and many other cafes. Try the local bakery instead!

Really disappointed, was really hungry and looking forward to a nice lunch out but found a very limited menu and very empty display cabinet. ended up with the small roasted vege salad as a desperate last minute choice at choosing something wholesome- it consisted of pumpkin, kumara and potato and very little flavour or texture, could do with some herbs or nuts/seeds and coffees were extremely extremely slow coming out. and the atmosphere -i felt like i was dining in a rest home cafe!

Melodie must have been having a bad hair day. We have had lunch at Cafe Novella several times and each time have had great food served by friendly staff. We like it not only because it has great food but the owners are there also providing the right atmosphere/

I was a regular customer until they changed hands. I paid $4.50 for 3 club sandwiches. Without a lie they were about 1cm in width- if that. My workmates were horrified. They have also experienced an increase in price and a downturn in quality. <br/><br/>If you want to be ripped off, go here.
