Review Dark Horse Coffee - Paraparaumu

I am a TA thru-hiker from Korea. I really wanted to drink coffee today. “Dark Horse” is the place with the highest rating on Google Maps near me. I walked more than 6km from my tenting place and came to drink coffee. I ordered a long black and an iced latte at once and drank it. coffee tastes really good However, the music was a little loud, but if the music was low, the conversations of many customers would be rather noisy. Anyway, walking 13 km round trip is worth the coffee taste.

This was a two coffees in one sitting for us, which is indicative of how much we loved it. More of a coffee rather than food place. Tends towards the darker roasted, strong style of coffee rather than fruity, lighter style. Great laid-back atmosphere and music.

Roast their own coffee ! Their long black was really nice ! Glad I came here for takeaway coffees instead of grabbing one at the super busy cafes near the beach !

Awesome place to grab a coffee, very nice roasted coffee, grab a cup or grab some beans, also try nitro cold brew. The single origin Ethiopian went down great in the Aeropress

Dark Horse Coffee are one of the best coffee roasters in Wellington. Their staff are lovely and highly skilled - I have never had a bad coffee from DHC and I have had a fair few. They are a stable friendship, their skills unbridled and I have recommended them so much my voice is a bit horse. Lets rein these puns in and just trot on down for a coffee. Neigh.

After a few visits my partner and I have agreed, this is the best coffee spot in the country! The taste is dark, roasty, chocolatey and intense. Might be a bit too intense for some who like their coffee black, but absolutely divine with some milk of your choice. Friendly baristas and a cool industrial atmosphere with the coffee roasters too. We stop here every time we're in the area!

it wouldn't strain credulity to call this the best roast in the country. the coffee is always fast. staff always friendly. coffee always worth it. if you want that *real* full bodied, smooth and chocolatey roast......... this is it. 100% win and literally 1 min off the expressway. perfect

Not only the best coffee on the coast but the best coffee in the country. The fullest most delicious roast out. Awesome, convenient location and the friendliest of staff that prepare your order in a super timely fashion make the whole experience extremely pleasant. We love Dark Horse!

They roast their own coffee and have a small cafe on site. Friendly staff who have a high “coffee knowledge”. And the coffee..... Delicious. I drink long blacks and this has the right strength and flavour. My go to place in Paraparaumu. Nice to have a coffee and take time out reading the paper and taking in the atmosphere.

Favourite coffee spot hands down. Best coffee you will ever taste with down to earth and authentic staff who know coffee. It's my happy place. If your someone who needs more than just good coffee as the reason it's got chilled laid back vibes and pinball machines! And they roast on site so the smell is heaven...

This is undoubtedly the best coffee in Kapiti. Dan the barista is awesome, he loves his job which reflects on his amazing coffee - the perfect coffee every time. Dan is really helpful and accommodating - an asset to this business. Matt the owner is really friendly and very helpful I have a coffee machine at home I brought the manual in and Matt gave me 2 different grinds to try - no charge. It is a pretty cool place to hang out and drink your coffee too. ☕️
