Outstanding! I had such a lovely meal here. The food was excellent with just the right amount of flavour and an extra zing for those taste buds. The staff greeted with a lovely smile as soon as I walked in. Service was fast and efficient. They have a wide variety of oriental food to offer. The menu was diverse and very reasonably priced. Will surely visit again! Thank you!

Brilliant place, my colleagues and I eat here at least twice a week. And if you have visitors in town, then this is where you take them to impress. AAA+++ all round for food, service and price.

Lunch is 15$. You will have one choice of drink. The kung pao chicken was pretty tasty. It came with rice or noodle. Place is quite spacious and service was great. Parking is available on one tree hill campus site. Would love to come here again in the future.

I love this place. Decent place for a lunch in Penrose. The staff is great, friendly and quick service. I have been here 3-4 times and never gave a chance for disappointment. Great taste. Reasonable costs.

Great lunch menu, includes non-alcoholic & coffee drinks (except smoothies). Value for money, highly recommend this local gem.

Flavour full food, huge portions. Bang bang chicken loads of meat on bean sprouts, edamame beans could not finish, and I can eat alot.

Literally JUST had lunch here with my partner. I walk past this place every day on my way to work, and I've seen them renovating this space for a long time now and it's finally complete! The very first day for them being open. I can say this, it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL inside, everything from the cutlery, to the decor is all gorgeous, the the staff are all very lovely and fast. Had just under an hour to stay there and they were fast with our drink orders and food. The food was amazing! My partner had the Fish Burger and an Iced Tea - he said it was delicious. I had the eggs with five grain toast, roasted vine tomatoes and a side of sautéed gourmet mushrooms. It was delicious as well! With a refreshing mixed berry smoothie. I will definitely be coming back here! Thank you for a lovely time.

I have been passing by this place for ages and always wanted to eat here. Today we went for a team lunch and it was awesome. The food was fresh, quantity was amazing and a total value for money! Will definitely go back to try a few other items that has caught my eye. :)

Very satisfactory food and reasonably priced. Quick service. Our group shared an array of different dishes and all were very good. A very solid 4 stars, and i would recommend this place happily.

Delicious and beautifully presented lunch. I enjoyed the smashed avocado and my partner loved the vegetable noodles. Staff were kind and helpful with our friends' little one.

Chinese food and bruch. Very good relationship quality-price. Lunch menu with drink 15$. Nice staff. The mood is relaxing, and has a small terrace, beware of the rain though!

Ordered through Uber Eats and the food came really fast, was hot, and large portions. We had the Kung Pao Chicken on rice and the honey black pepper beef on noodles. Love the fact that you can choose rice or noodles and customise the dish. The fact they could do the beef without celery shows that the food is freshly made. Veggies in the dish were plentiful and fresh. Can't wait to go back here again and try more dishes as these two were superb!

We had our work team lunch just walking distance and great atmosphere. Lots seating and nice sunny weather. Everyone one enjoyed their lunch they ordered and I liked mine The Orient Fired rice w Prawns with delicious dumplings. Thanks🙂🖼

I had omelet with mushroom, chicken Bao, and noodles. Price was reasonable. The coffee was free as i ordered lunch menu. Haha coffee was really good as well! Was really delicious :) fast and polite staff.

Awesome cafe reasonably priced and the food is yummy fresh and well presented the dumplings are the best i have had in ages.this is the cafe to go to people too bad they don't have a liquor licence to go with the food but i hear that's to come!!!!

Yum! Had takeaways tonight after reading positive reviews and so glad that we did! We had chicken bao, sweet & sour pork and combination noodles. Nicely presented, lovely fresh vegetables, very tasty.<br/><br/>We will definitely be back, this is filling a real gap in the takeaway options in the area.

This place is addictive! Really nice dumplings (we always have chicken and mushrooms), food presentation is good even when you buy take aways. Portions are generous and love the combination of veggies in the sweet and sour dishes.

Loved this little cafe, meals were greatly priced based on the sizing and very generously sized, staff are lovely as well as a great atmosphere, if I’m ever in this part of Auckland again I will definitely be back!

Had heard lots about The Orient so decided to give them a try. They're located on the busy roundabout near the Ellerslie offramp in front of a motel - but don't let this put you off as there is designated parking easily accessible at the College next door.<br/>Once inside the busy road is hidden although there is a lovely sunny deck space meaning you don't have to sit inside. <br/>Service is really friendly without being intrusive. Polite, water brought to the table, friendly conversation. Nothing is any trouble - people that seem to enjoy what they do & care about their customers. Other cafes should take note. An extra 0.5 has been added to my rating simply for this. <br/>They have a decent menu - all the usual options but with those little unique touches. I tried the pancakes which were well cooked - light & fluffy with the perfect crispy edge. Fruit was full of flavour & the bacon perfectly cooked. Coffee was well made too. <br/>Will be back & soon

I have visited The Orient twice. Both times using a voucher. The first time was for breakfast with a large group of work colleagues. We all enjoyed the occasion, and the food and service were excellent. Today I came alone for lunch. I ordered the Grilled Salmon in Bowl. It was delicious. So was the coffee to follow. This is a delightful cafe. A serene, spacious oasis for time-out in the middle of a busy day. Easy parking at One Tree Hill College. Highly recommended.<br/><br/>Visited again today. I feel incredibly lucky to have The Orient so close to my workplace. The food - I had the delicious Open Sirloin Sandwich - is outstanding! So tasty, so pretty, so generous.... The service is friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The coffee is smooth and perfect. The environment is clean, spacious and relaxing. There is also a very tempting display of cabinet food. I’ll be back!

Me and my colleagues have attended The Orient quite a few times for lunch. The staff are always warm and friendly and the atmosphere is a lovely break away from a hectic work space. <br/><br/>Today was a special occasion as I was leaving my job for an exciting new venture to which I received a free cookie to my delight.<br/><br/>I would highly recommend The Orient Wrap which was filling but not heavy on your stomach. The Citrus Cake was an absolute delight, light and full of flavour and their coffee is always smooth and velvety.  Their food is always pleasing to the eye and stomach and I would highly recommend heading here for a quick lunch break whilst at work or weekend brunch(there is parking at the school).<br/><br/>Thanks again for making my last lunch with my colleagues an extra special one.

This was my second time visiting The Orient for brunch, on a Groupon voucher. I'm not one who is hard to please, but this place is definitely worth going to more for their brunches. First time I had eggs benedict, and boy, do I love eggs. These were straight up the BEST poached eggs I've ever had. They were cooked so perfectly even the second time I visited and ordered the smashed avo, which was SO GOOD.<br/>My BF ordered the chilli prawn benny, and my friend the portobello mushroom version of it. They both said it was delicious too!<br/>Great fusion place too and I love the aesthetics of how they plate their dishes up. The staff are really nice too, and it appears to be a family business. Their dining area is really nice and spacious too with plenty of sunlight coming through. Plus parking is provided at One Tree Hill College! There's so many positive factors that this place is worth checking out for an enjoyable Sunday brunch.

** GREAT CAFE ** A suprise this one is... u can park at college next door, as general parking is in an awkward place. Really nice cafe, my partner got burger & chips.. I got panko chicken with salad. Also got a side of wedges and hot drinks. The presentation of the food is outstanding. Although we had a voucher, it was worth the price 😊. Would happily dine here again!!

Beautiful, spacious cafe with a warm, homely feel. Excellent customer service and extremely efficient as well! The big breakfast was delicious. All organic produce, brilliant presentation, great taste and worth every penny. Flavour wise it had a bit of everything and was very filling. The coffee was beautiful! Smooth and a great kick - the coffee alone makes me want to visit frequently. Will most certainly be back :)

Excellent service! We went in and they had closed their kitchen, but they offered us cabinet food and were so apologetic about their kitchen being closed. We have never received such good service. Will definitely be back and recommend the orient cafe to family and friends! Thank you orient cafe!

Lovely cafe, delicious food beautifully presented. My absolute favorite is the kumara rostie with avocado and salmon side. The service is super friendly. Always a pleasure to come back.

This is a great lunch spot. I had a fresh and delicious Smoked Salmon Salad. Fabulous! The service was great too. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Just had a delicious coffee and eggs benedict with mushrooms for breakfast using a Groupon voucher. Served by Antony and cooked by Julia it was beautifully cooked and presented- and very yum! The coffee was spot on and I will definitely be making this my Tuesday morning breakfast stop. A very pleasant interior (with the doors open, traffic noise from Gr South Rd is occasionally noticeable) and comfortable seating, with plenty of room to move between tables.

Food looks tempting and it tastes delicious as well. We tried Ice coffee and Mocha- one of the best..... ambiance is quite and peaceful. Staff are friendly.. must try 👌🏼

Very friendly staff and delicious food! I love how they always give you salad on the side when you order food. Coffee is very smooth and not too bitter. Really open and space friendly place to chill during lunch break.
