Review Oxley's Bar & Kitchen - Picton

All the food was delicious. The head waitress was friendly. I recommend the steak and the babaganoush. The vegetable gnocchi was just as enjoyable until I realized some of the gnocchi was burnt.

Fantastic place. I did have a problem with my meal, no big deal, it happens. They handled it beautifully. Recommend the baked cheesecake, so good! And the Toblerone cocktail. Yummo! Recommend, it's a great spot.

Amazing food, i felt really great after having their Beef Burger, It was the perfect size and not a lot of unhealthy stuff on it. I forgot to take a photo of the food but it looked beautiful i promise! Staff were really welcoming and approachable. Highly recommend to check this resto out!

Wonderful upscale place with decent prices. I've had a pineapple iced tea (long island with fruit instead of coke) and the presentation and mixing of it is top notch. Cheers

I visited twice in a week with a mate I was travelling with. The first time just for drinks (I had a couple of glasses of cider) and the 2nd time for dinner. On both occasions we had a really good evening. The was good live music both nights although at a volume where it didn't dominate everything. The service is fast, friendly and attentive both for drinks and food. There's a pleasant atmosphere - nothing too raucous but a bit of a buzz. It was maybe 2/3 full either night - a Sunday and a Thursday. I'd describe the food as pub food done well. I had the fish of the day which was a white fish I'd never heard of with vegetables and potatoes. It was tasty and a decent sized portion. The food came quickly so we were in an out in 45 mins.

Enjoyed our meals. Much better experience than 5 months ago. Staff were friendly and our food was great. Went with a group of 8 and we all enjoyed our meals

A very enjoyable meal. Our requests when booking were met and the staff were marvelous each and every one of them seemed to know what they were doing and kept things flowing.. food was excellent the squid was exceptional and whoever cooked my steak did it with real care, a fabulous affogato and apple crumble to finish . Everybody enjoyed their evening. Thanks to all the staff no wonder you are always fully booked.

I would travel from anywhere to eat here, every bit of my dinner was utterly perfect, the chef is truly extraordinary and the lady looking after us had the most incredible personality. I have eaten here several times before and it’s always perfect. I’m not a local and will eat there again before going home. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star rating.

Simply fantastic. The pan-fried fish was probably the best dish we have eaten in NZ so far. Perfectly cooked and the white wine tarragon sauce was perfectly balanced. All the accompanying vegetables were equally well cooked. The fish and chips were brilliant too; the fish still moist and the chips crunchy. The mussels in coconut curry sauce were good but the sauce was too thick, and somewhat overpowered the delicate mussels as a result.

Can't say anything bad about it! Service was exceptional from our Aussie waitress. My wife emotionally reminded her of one of her friends back home so it was a nice little moment to experience! Cold beer, exceptionally delicious food & very well priced for the quality you get served. This place was recommended to us by a cab driver & it did not disappoint! If you don't have this on your list of places to eat you are really missing out!

Nice and friendly with well priced menu. We had Mussels and fries as a weekday special $18 and a Seafood Chowder $16 . Couple of extra pieces of toast. The mussels were presented in a yummy creamy traditional curry sauce. The chowder was amazing. Couple of Monteith's beers, while waiting for the next ferry. Would be back if we return.

Five stars for the moctails!!! Super delicious! Food is yum as well. Good customer service that made us feel welcomed. Lovely atmosphere. Limited 60 mins free carpark space by the road.

One of the best places in NZ I’ve ever been! Amazing environment. Immaculate meal and service! The smartest burgers in NZ! They do use a marinated onion! So, there is neither bitterness nor smell. I’ always advised in Wellington’s eateries to use a marinated onion, because majority of people didn’t eat it. Nicest desserts. Beautiful cocktails! The best apple crumble I’ve ever had! Extremely recommend! Meantime, very tidy and nice smelling rest room.

Really bad service, staff very young and not friendly, think they are better than u do not recommend this place at all total dissatisfaction.

What a wonderful friendly place to have a meal, both hubby and I enjoyed our very generous meals. Efficient and friendly staff, quick service and reasonably priced, next time in Picton we will be back �

Seafood chowder was awesome as was the mussels. Great service. Our favorite place to eat dinner while in Picton. If in Picton, this is a must stop. We tried Le Cafe too, but Oxley's won out hands down.

Best dish of mussels I have ever had! Perfectly cooked in a delicious sauce. Great value for money seen as though the other local restaurants serve only 12 mussels for more money versus the 1kg served at Oxley’s! Fantastic service as well

A must do if you are in the area . Forget the rest and go with the best , just ask a local and they will send you to the Oxley. Big thumbs up for service , presentation, cleanliness , menu and the beer of course . Thanks team. Dave from Darwin.

$30 cheese platter was average, 4 glasses of local red wines also left a lot to be desired. This was after a wine tour (3 vineyards) so our expectations may have been too high. I’d try somewhere else next time. 3* rating.

Friendly staff and a good size soft drink for a good price! Wedges to die for! Yum!

Great spot with good atmosphere and staff. The Salmon I had was great and cooked to perfection. The view across the bay through the big windows and looking at the stainglassing was beautiful.
