We were only in Picton for a quick overnight after getting off the ferry from Wellington and moved on early the next day. Cortado came recommended by a local resident and it didn't disappoint. Service was prompt and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. We only had a pizza which was just fine. Based on most pizzas we have had in other countries it was solid. We saw other tables order the beef and chips served on a hot stone and it looked excellent. We didn't see leftovers and would try it if we ever returned. A very warm atmosphere to have dinner.
The food was so good, and very reasonably priced. We tried the fish and chips then a pizza. After having a long day travelling, stopping in here was so comforting. The staff here are absolutely wonderful, really friendly and made our lunch visit so pleasant we went back again for dinner.

We enjoyed our dinner. Wasn't busy. Food arrived very quickly. Was delicious. Pizza was spot on. Just wasn't sure about my dessert. The creme brulee didn't look set.
Loved this place. Understated, so was surprised how good it really was. Staff were always friendly and the pizza was glorious (got the mexican). Music was perfect too - catchy but always in the background and not too loud.
Came into Picton on the Royal Princess, walked past this place twice and just felt there was a good vibe.
So after our shopping, at my insistence to the wife, we came back and the only disappointment now is that we have to leave.
I ordered the stone grill steak, which was delicious. The chimichurri was amazing as well.
My wife had the garlic prawns, which she said was "divine"
The Picton Pilsner was likewise amazing, and I highly recommend it.
If I'm ever back in Picton (which is likely, as Aotearoa is an amazing place), we'll definitely stop back in.
Great spot for food and drinks in middle of Picton. Desserts pretty good too!
Recommend the bubbling prawns and boozy amaretto
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Cortado yesterday evening. The service was friendly and helpful, especially with checking for my dietary intolerances. We treated the menu like a tapas menu, and ordered several small bites. They were all delicious - cooked to perfection and beautifully presented so that our meal was a feast for our eyes, as well as our taste buds. it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food.
Fresh and perfect wood fire Malborough sea food pizza. I enjoyed the food and the taste which is perfect and unique. The salmon on the top of pizza is so fresh as it looks. You need to wait for the food for a bit time (sometime longer as it is fresh make and busy) but it's really worth. The customer service is really good. And they are some outdoor seats to enjoy the harbour view and keep your pet.
There is a cafe and bar itself. The price is moderate.

Lovely vibe. Good music. Good choice of English / Kiwi food. The place is very clean and seems to be quite popular. Prices are moderately. We came here for a pot of tea in the afternoon and then hot chocolate before boarding the Ferry to Wellongton.
