Best ice creams this side of the bombays! Awesome prices too and you get what you pay for. Hot cabinet food available and takeaway packs you can order. Staff are lovely and manage to churn through a huge amount of people wanting ice creams so your never waiting long

One of the two takeaways in Pokeno that sell ice cream scoops. Stopped by on the way home for a snack. Got a curry roll and a milk shake. Both were nice, what you would expect from a decent takeaway place.

Cheapest ice cream on North Island NZ. Each scoop of ice cream is huge. Friendly staff. It's a good stopping point to have a rest and an ice cream from the long drive going south or north

The Best and yummiest sorbet and ice-cream in New Zealand and very Friendly Service. Still the Best and it's The original one on the Corner not the one beside it saying they are the Original they aren't.

Eric and his lovely family have been in Pokeno, it seems forever. We always support them and shop there for takeaways. They have 40+ flavours of ice cream to choose from. Always clean and very welcoming. Highly recommend AAA+++

I've been stopping at the two icecream shops which stand side by side since I was a child. Even though the State Highway hasn't run through Pokeno for years we still detour for ice cream. I've taken my children there and now I take my grandchildren. It's a tradition. Great ice cream selection, reasonable prices and value for money. A sweet stop along the way.

Clean, easy access shop/counters. Plenty of capable and pleasant staff - keen to serve, and great service. Enjoy the company of locals and or a multitude of travellers who love the place. Excellent range of ice-creams... second to none! and great value. Great range of cold drinks. ... at average prices. Love the hot food too. Worth a visit any time of the year. Limited inside seating - but outside facilities nice anyway. Ample roadside parking. Public toilets about 50m away. Only a minute off stage highway 1.

Love the ice creams. This is a must for anyone who travels past the Bombay area as this great little ice cream shop is only a couple of minutes from the off ramp. Ample street parking and shaded grassed area to sit in if the provided seating area is full. Good for young and old as ice cream is the remedy to almost anything.

I go for the ice cream, can't get as many flavours or as big anywhere else. Sunday's are also great cause you can pop across the road to the Markets. Always stop in on the way out and back to Auckland.

They closed but we arrived after they're opening hours yet they remained friendly and willing to serve still. Ice creams are at a grand portion which makes it better value for your money! Definitely worth the drive if you stay outside of Pokeno.

This shop is an essential stop whenever I go to Auckland or pass through from Hamilton! Pokeno icecream is the best!! Big scoops that are well worth it's price! They have a wide selection of Tip Top ice cream flavours as well as a selection of hot foods, other foods & drinks! And it's a family owned & run business and they're the nicest people ever! Would definitely recommend as a stop on your way home from Auckland!
